The sun was slowly rising over the desert on the western continent. Somewhere between the dunes, a blue skinned man with horns and a long tail woke up with a loud yawn. He fell asleep right next to an oasis yesterday, and now, still groggy from sleep, slowly stood up and walked over to the water to splash some of it in his face. This world was still strange to him... Nights in this desert were brutal in how cold they got, but they were nothing compared to the heat of the day. But that was the entire reason why he returned to this place yesterday night to sleep - his black great sword gleaming in the first rays of the sun behind him, leaning against one of the palm trees around the oasis. After stretching a bit next to the clear water, the blue demon known as Kadbra took off his jacket and shirt and threw them to the side, before doing the same with his boots and pants, leaving him in shorts only. Why? Quite simple - the extreme heat, burning sunlight and dry air were perfect for some good, old-fashioned 'training from hell'.
The sand under his feet was already getting quite hot as he stepped away from the bit of vegetation next to the oasis. He left his sword behind with his clothes - no reason to carry around that big lump of steel when he was just going to train, that thing would only be used in life or death situations for now - and while the heat here could get brutal, the demon world wasn't exactly a nice place to live in, and he survived that just fine without having any combat ability in his youth. Really, he only took some distance from the oasis now so that he wouldn't accidentally blow it up when practicing with his Ki.
Walking through the hot sands, Kadbra stopped as he reached the top of a rather large dune. The sun was now fully visible in the sky, and the heat started to kick up - the air wavering everywhere from the heat. The rays of the sun burned on Kadbra's already sweat-covered body, his tail swishing from side to side behind him, kicking up sand. It was the only place not actively sweating, mostly because it was covered in scales instead of skin. Slowly, with controlled motions, the tall demon warrior took up a fighting stance - left foot forward, arm extended forward with his hand kept stretched out and keeping the fingers tight together, with the right arm at his side, the elbow at a 90° angle, the hand in a fist that was at his side in the stance. His stance was not fully upright, but slightly leaned forward, with his slowly moving tail acting as a counter-balance, and his legs slightly crouched down.
Taking a deep breath in the inhuman heat of the sun, Kadbra would consider himself lucky in that he couldn't get sunburn, if he even knew what a sunburn was. Just staying in a focused, hardened stance like this on moving, hot and shifting sand was a difficult task in itself, and so the first task of his training was simple - keep his stance steady and combat ready for at least an hour in this heat. The only real motion, besides his tail swaying back and forth to keep balance, came from him blinking from time to time. The sweat of the blue demon in the heat gave off a bit of steam, it seemed, which just pronounced his focused muscles more.
As the sun slowly reached the zenith of the sky, Kadbra took a deep breath, and slowly moved out of his combat stance. He felt light-headed and exhausted, without even having moved all that much today - simply keeping his focus for hours on end was demanding, and his muscles hurt quite a bit from staying perfectly still and clenched the entire time. After stretching them slightly, the demon accessed the Ki within his body, and slowly lifted up off the ground and away from the burning sand. Floating surrounded by a slight aura of black smoke, his signature Ki appearance, Kadbra rotated his horned head around a bit, breathed in the dry desert air deeply, and then began his actual physical training, now that his endurance round for the day was complete. Taking a quicker combat stance in mid-air, Kadbra dashed forward through the air at an imagined target, delivering a series of quick jabs and punches with left and right, finishing off with a roundhouse-kick through the air, before starting a series of kicks with his left leg to another side, which was then finished with some quick jabs from the muscular scaled tail. The quick movements were a blessing on his muscles right now, causing them to loosen up a bit again after the focused first part.
Kadbra continued with the simple punch and kick maneuvers for a while, sometimes throwing simple, black Ki blasts out from his fists, eyes and the tip of his tail, until his breathing became erratic and his pulse faster and faster. Only then did he slowly float back towards the oasis - the sun was by now starting to set, engulfing the desert into a golden and red light.
Instead of setting down next to the oasis, Kadbra threw what little clothing he was still wearing onto the pile next to his sword, and just dived into the water head-first. The water was just deep enough for him to submerge himself in it at the deepest point, and any water he swallowed while under there was definitely intentional. Surfacing with a pleased sigh, Kadbra shook his head around fast, throwing off the water in his hair. While walking out of the oasis and putting his clothes back on, the blue skinned demon wondered if he should go for a quick jog before sleeping, but decided against it - no need to overdo it with his very first training session on earth.
