"I can tell you're a good kid, so we can skip the judgement part. Go on up, and make sure to check out the buffet" after King Yemma's encouraging and warm words, he felt himself being lifted off the ground. Big Train levitated from the check in station up to Heaven. Being a little blue ball of a spirit wasn't easy. All of Big Train's power was gone, no longer could he fire out a train buster of throw a Conviction. His senses also were dulled, without a body to sense things, everything was distant and alien. This was terrible! He just wanted to be a master martial artist like his heroes. Now... now he was just dead.
He moped around Heaven with no clear destination in mind. Instead of he was replaying his life in his mind. From being bullied as a child orphan. Leaving Burrio Village to explore on his own. Fighting with and against so many talented fighters. Joining the Galactic Patrol and Beryl's Zen School, which still was an area of great pride for the big lucha lad. But it just lead to his death. What a pitiful death, too! Knocked out by an ally and then murdered while incapacitated on the ground. All he wanted to do was help, he never thought he was die. His naivety betrayed himself.
He had never run into an evil like Xylo, he made even Mammon seem like a choir boy. But in that evil was a layer of stupidity that would undoubtedly be the downfall for the Namekian terror. Sadly, Big Train probably wouldn't be around to see that. But then suddenly, his attention was snapped back into his surroundings. There was a small cave entrance with two Ogres in front of it, guarding it apparently. "For the last time, I don't KNOW how this thing got here! And I don't KNOW what's inside. The orders from top brass was to guard it and make sure that nobody comes in OR out!" the blue ogre shouted at the red one. "D'ow.... I just wanna see what's inside... This is so boring!" the red ogre groaned. "Good! It doesn't matter, we stay here and do our job and we get on their good graces. You already know that they're made at us for the last incident...". "I know..." the red ogre agreed, though his sadness was apparent.
'I need to see what's inside!' Big Train said brashly. The big teen's curiosity is what got him killed and yet here he was, still getting himself into trouble. It was as if the cave was calling out to him, maybe it was destiny? He would have to distract the two long enough to get his spirit body inside the cave. "I could really use a donut.." the red ogre said longingly. That was it! There were plenty of donuts back at the Heavenly Buffet. Big Train moved as fast as his spirit allowed, hoping he could find his way back afterwards. He grabbed a donut, well grab wasn't the right word. He balanced a donut on his spirit body, luckily his spirit was a bit more robust than most.
He 'ran' back to where the cave was and used to momentum to fling the donut so that it would roll past the two ogre guards. The red one took the bait perfectly, as it rolled past the two the red ogre took off after it, "Donut! The Kai's must have heard!". The blue one gave chase, "No! You idiot! We're supposed to be guarding this cave!". This gave Big Train just the right opening to scoot his blue self behind the back of the two and into the cave. Big Train continued further into the long hallway of the cave. It went on and on for what seemed like forever. But eventually he floated into a wider room which was illuminated by a faint purple glow. The glow was beaming from a flat disc of what appeared to be purple energy.
It was clearly a portal, though Big Train didn't know about such things. But what was clear was that there was plenty of room to walk into the purple disc of energy. And after circling it and testing it by putting a hand through, Big Train would step through the portal and out the other side. After he worked his whole self through, he would take a look around his surroundings. Behind him was the same purple disc, but in front of his was a view of red and brown. The landscape seemed to stretch on for eternity, it was covered in strange looking trees and jagged rock formations that lifted up above the wicked trees. A few pools of red lava were visible here and there when they weren't covered by the landscape.
He was high up in the sky, on the pathway up a HUGE mountain, larger than most of the others that filled his view. He was close to the top, so he figured he would continue upwards on the path. What did he have to lose? He had already come this far. So the little blue cloud that could continued up the path and to the tip of the mountain. There he found a strange sight, a quaint little home. It was made out of wood. But the wood looked more like the wood of the trees on Earth. Big Train floated himself up to the door, he wondered if he should knock. Then he wondered if he COULD. After all, he had no arms! He floated there, thinking, as voice called out from behind him, "Lost, little spirit?".
Big Train jumped out of his skin, well if he still had any he would've. He turned around and saw a little old lady. Bent and worn with age. Old as it may be, she still had a body. What was more curious, however, was how she appeared behind him? There was nobody around the house and surely he would've seen her on the path. The old woman didn't look like she could move very fast. "Wha! I-I", "Found a portal to hell" the old lady finished his sentence for him. Big Train was stunned so the old lady continued, "I am the witch Ubinabi and this is my home. Clearly you must have come here for a reason" the old woman said coolly. "I-I'm Big Train and please tell me how you have a body!".
The old witch laughed a small laugh and stepped by the small spirit that was Big Train. She opened the door and said, "Come on in, Mister Big Train". She walked through and Big Train followed. The inside was almost as quaint as the outside. It was a wide open space with sliding doors dividing the different sections. All of the doors were left open except for one, which Big Train figured led to the bathroom. After moving through the main room, the old witch led him to the room adjacent, a dinning table took up most of the room. Though it laid flat to the ground and there were no chairs, only cushions. Opposite of the table was a large cooking pot. A strange brew must have been cooking inside, there were green waves of fume hovering from the pot.
There was only one other from other than the main room, the dinning room and the closed door to the right. It was obviously a bedroom, with a small bed and other personal belongings visible through the door way. "I would tell you to have a seat, but you have no body, hmhmhm" the old witch amused herself as she moved closer to her cauldron. She stirred it a bit and gave it a sniff. "A-are you going to tell me how to get my body back?". "No." the witch answer quickly, leaving to air in between the statement and her words. "Your old body is gone forever". The little blue Big Train drooped at this statement, he really liked that body. "Your spirit, it burns brighter than most" she said as she looked upon the small blue cloud of shoki. "Yes, a strong soul indeed".
Big Train perked back up, he had a strong soul? A big dumb smile would be plastered across his face if he had one. "There is a way to defeat death, and you need a body to do so. Only the truly strong willed can overcome death. Crafting a new body is your only option. To do that you will need to use Shoki. Shoki is... a form a ki. Right now, it's all you are. You must shape it, form it, mold it into a new body". So there was a way for Big Train to return from the death. He listened intently, he had no clue how to do what she was saying... He had a hard enough time manipulating normal ki, never mind this shoki stuff. But he was going to try! It couldn't be any harder than normal ki.
The little blue cloud would start to shake and vibrate as Big Train focused. Electricity formed around his being as the cottage around him started to rumble. He needed his body back, he wanted it so bad! He had to get stronger, he had to make his way back! That Xylo creep would undoubtedly attack Earth eventually and he had to be back in time to defend it! For Arco, for Mister Steel, for the Galactic Patrol and Aina for every wonderful person he met on Earth. And without question, for the ones that couldn't defend themselves! The mountain itself would start to rumble, causing small pieces of it to break off and roll down hill.
The blue cloud grew larger and brighter, filling the entire cottage with the blue tinted light. The first thing to burst from the cloud were a pair of arms. Soon to be followed by the wispy tail breaking off into two and forming into legs. His weight returned as he fell down onto his newly formed hands and knees. The energy inside of his cloud body was swirling and shifting like the inside of a lava lamp. The body expanded bigger and bigger, too big it would seem for a moment before collapsing in on itself. It would collapse back into the form of the Big Train. Just as he was before death. The old witch would look on calmly, as if she knew that all that Big Train needed was some advice.
But there was one thing he wasn't counting on, he was completely naked! Even his trusty mask was gone! "Don't worry, sonny. Nothing I've never seen before, hmhmhm" she said before fixing the situation with a snap her fingers. As she snapped her fingers, clothes appeared on the form of the blushing Big Train. Now that he was clothes he had the presence of mind to look down at himself, looking to his hands and what he could see of himself. "You were right Ubinabi, it worked!" the old lady would gesture to a nearby mirror. "Take a closer look at your new self". Big Train moved into the frame of the mirror. He looked like himself, except for his clothing.
They were all black, even his mask was now black with a white star. "Uhm, these aren't my clothes". The old lady just nodded, "Maybe the world needs a darker Big Train. You're too nice, you can't just let people walk all over you, lad". Big Train was inclined to agree, this was the story of his life when he was younger and maybe it was still the case now. He probably wouldn't be in this situation if he didn't try to help Capper. But he wouldn't give a clear response as he moved away from the mirror. "So... what should I do now". "You should head home, Big Train. There's still a lot for you to learn. When you've become strong enough, you will know how to break the confines of the other world".
"How do you know so much?" Big Train asked the mystical woman. She responded, "I watch a lot of tv" with a smile as she pointed towards a large flat screen TV in the bedroom. On the screen the final moments of Xylo's victory played out. But before Big Train could catch a good look, the old lady grabbed him by the arm and ushered him to the door. Ubinabi opened the door and gave him a few parting words, "But know this! The power of the spirit extends beyond this, even when you have a body, you can still mold your soul into a fierce weapon. Not many can do it, and even the few that can often lack the discipline to do it be able to do it" she flicked her wrist as a red blade of spirit ki extended from his illuminated hand.
"A valuable technique it is, if you can master it" the blade was gone, dissipated as quickly as it was summoned. "I've planted in you the seed to grow this power. Now it is up to you and your diligence". She gestured to the door before continuing, "Now go, Big Train. Go back to where you belong and train yourself so that no demon can stop you again". Big Train nodded, "Thank you Ubinabi, for everything" it seemed that the lucha lad always found guidance in the strangest of places. He left the witch's wooden hut and traveled back down the trail to the purple portal. He stepped back through and into the cave. Now that he had his body, he didn't have to worry about the ogres. He could run right by them with enough speed that they wouldn't even be able to see him! He had bigger worries right now. He would spend tireless hours training to manifest his spirit into a weapon.
Will be putting in the purchase for a new body after this thread
