Keeping a Promise [Departure]

Big Train felt a sudden vibration against his outer thigh. After realizing it was his new phone, he still wasn't completely used to the damn thing, he pulled it out of his pants pocket and answered, "What's good?" he answered in his usual easy going voice. A familiar voice called out "That spacepod you told me about? I found it, It's ready for the trip to Namek!". It was Leona, daughter of a Capsule Corporation chairman. "Oh noice, when can I go?" Big Train was honestly excited to finally leave his home planet for the first time. He had heard and read so many fascinating things about Namek. It was about time for him to see it for himself! "It's ready whenever you are, Big Train" the girl's voice rang out with glee. "Cool, cool, I'll be there soon" and with that Big Train headed off towards Capsule Corp HQ. But he wasn't alone, he rode there on the back of his trusty friend, Arco the 20 foot tall cat-bird. Luckily they were pretty close, so the two soon reached West City. Leona really wasn't joking, the pod was lying in wait right behind the main building. It was impressive how quickly she found and restored it. Then again, she did have a lot of resources at her command. The pod laid flush upon a small makeshift launch pad. Leona was there to greet them, she was eager for Big Train to head out and retrieve her secret project. She gave Big Train the final run down on how to operate the pod. Soon enough it was time for him to leave. Too soon for Arco. With a final wave to Leona and the saddened Arco, Big Train closed the cockpit and started the pod up. Which smoothly levitated off the ground in preparation for take off. He was sad to part ways with Arco, but this trip was supposed to be short and sweet. So he knew he would see him again soon. With the final push of a button the pod blasted off into the sky and hurled itself towards Namek. Big Train slept most of the way after getting his share of how beautiful open space was. It all felt very surreal when you were hurling through space in a tiny ball. But he needed his rest and sleep soon overtook him. That is until the computer woke him up, stating that they were close to the Northern Scar. Just as the pod was drawing near to its location, something powerful collided with the pod. Strong enough to cause massive damage to the pod and knock it careening off course. Big Train panicked and struggled to keep the pod from crashing will full momentum. He pushed all the buttons he could, or at least the ones that were producing sparks. The pod continued on a course, mostly through malfunction but also in an attempt from Big Train to make more of a controlled landing. However all momentum would halt as soon as the pod collided into the ground...
