Hello, I sorta noticed a slight issue with the way starting power level is determined that, while I'm not against it, could use a bit of clearing up to make the information more clear for newer players. On the racial pages, there is a Starting Power Level part of each one. In my case, the Arcosian Page states that Arcosians start between 2000 and 2500 pl. However, according to the current system, a characters starting power level is determined by the BP. Again, this wouldn't be an issue, except the Weclome, Warrior Page doesn't really make this clear. It uses the words "Power Level bonus" instead of "starting power level" or something more clear. This lead me to believe that my starting power level was in fact going to be within the 2000 to 2500 range, and would be enhanced by my BP. When I saw my starting pl though, 1550, I immediately assumed something was wrong. I think rewording some things may be in order, so that this information is much more clear to new players and allows us to avoid any issues in the future.

I agree with this, speaking from personal experience, at least the wording of the Welcome Warrior page could be revised to make this fact clearer

While I agree that the Welcome Warrior page needs rewording, like a lot of the pages do, there are also the Mechanics page and Rules page that mention how all posts, normal and not are graded. Might just be me, but I always went off this.

Yeah, but that doesn't solve the confusion over starting power level.

The starting PL determines 100% the starting PL for those who do not need a BP to make a character (those who have already been accepted and make alts).
And trust me when I say this: starting power level is the most insignificant thing that you could possibly factor to a character. It's nice to wave it around and be proud of how well the person who read your BP thought you did, but in reality it doesn't mean jack.
Your species' pl goes into the 'BP equation', allegedly. The starting formula — as are most formulas — is kept secret.

Again, while that one spot should be changed, It is advised to read through the rules and Mechanics before thinking fully of joining. In the Mechanics page there is the grading page which is dedicated to showing how all threads on site are graded. This is also so for the Beginner's Presentation post. While I usher the mods to edit that one word "Bonus", it doesn't change the fact that there are other places on the rules and such that explain it in much better. I get where the wording is coming from. From the formulas that have been leaked, I can tell you that the Species average PL is most likely accounted for, but quality and quantity are essential pieces that are also part of the equations. The "Bonus" being that you aren't restricted to the average of your race that you would get if you forgo your BP (if you already have a character). You mention the Arcosians, and how they can get between 2k and 2.5k? With the BP, you could get up to 10k with the large quantity and extremely effective writing skills. Anyway, I am needing to post, I'll leave this with you guys.

I've had both of these conversations in the C-box already, so I'll be brief. I do not have an issue with my starting power level, nor do I deny that the rule is likely explained else where in the rules and mechanics. I merely and suggesting a slight change in the wording. That is it.
I do not care that my power lvl started off as it has, I'm fine with that. My issue is purely how unclear it was that that is how it would be figured out. I know starting power level is rather unimportant, and accept that. I know how things are graded and such, and I accept that.
I am merely suggestion slight rewording to clear up any confusion that may arise from said wording. There seems to be an assumption that I am not satisfied with my power level, or am against this system. I am not. I merely wanted to suggest a slight rewording to allow a clearer understanding.
I have read the rules, I have made the appropriate threads, and I understand how the system is currently set up is for a reason. My only issue is unclear wording and wording that implies completely other things then what is intended.
