SO! Over at LDR Death was always enabled and I LOVED this idea. You could die at any moment which is what the DBZ universe is about, I mean ... Frieze didn't stop killing Krillin because of Character breaks.. So why should we? The catch? We had Other world/ Heaven/Hell to RP in so we could still gain as our dead characters. We had a long wait to be revived or we could be wished back. Really, I think this would improve gameplay.

This could be cool, but I think it would drive away people wanting to play support type characters. For instance Sashimi and I (as Fugu) would like to play towards building up a lab and we aren't necessarily at all interested in the power game. I don't think that it'd be fun to lose our entire plot concept because someone wanted to show off, playing in hell wasn't really something I had in mind when developing a scientist type character.
Also, with DE the meta game can get annoying. Someone OOCly sees that an enemy has the dragon balls and is about to make a wish, so they jump into one of Milac's silly tea party threads and obliterates him to prevent that from happening (whereas I would totally agree to a death enabled flagging if I saw that you had gone through all the hoops IC).
Perhaps we could go the way of MMORPGs. On character creation you can make a "PVP" character and get some sort of small boost to all your grades? Vs other characters who are considered PVP you can engage them as if they were in constant death enabled. Vs non pvp players (or any thread where they are attacking) you are considered not enabled as well.

I completely get where you're coming from. I've never tried to play the support type in an RP as I've always converted to the good guy defending the Planet.. but if a character does die in my idea.. It would just be an inconvenience really. As in a waiting period or something else. In Dragon Ball Z and even real life there are things that you just can't control. Yamcha couldn't control his fate with the Saibaman as the united state citizen's couldn't control 9/11. If a character learns of things ICLY............. then sure, I believe anything should go. but that's just my opinion. If somebody's that Evil and just wants to go on a rampage and slaughter people.. Well, Just hope you're not in his area... <.< and if you're good and powerless.. Hope Athren senses it before it goes too far.

I get that too, but honestly I think it will just cost you members. Even if it is just a month waiting period you could just troll me as soon as I get resurrected. Even if it is an inconvenience I would basically stop playing my character because I don't want to have to constantly RP as a dead guy in order to keep my support character- I would have to submit to power level grinding just so that I could role play in the situations I wanted to. Unexpected things can be fun, but when I no longer even have a say in my characters fate this really all just boils down to a numbers game-
it wouldn't be to late in the game for someone to write a 10k starter PL post as an acrosian and walk around at 100k (in the x10 form) to start- kill Pieter on a non full moon thread and then Emer, Oni, and Ninjin through systematic OOC metagaming. After that they could just continuously kill everyone pretty easily after that and the game would never really grow.

Other world will be added later, just getting everything set first. The other world will be placed after the first saga we have here I believe. As death generally always happens in a saga. But there will always be an after life.

Actually, Emer, you really should say Other World will be set after the second saga since the first was the tournament saga. But I can assure you that hopefully death won't be set so characters are trapped in there for weeks and months at a time unless you, the writer, want to have it set up that way. I say this because if it comes to vote a on long term time spent in Other World or a short term time I will be voting in favor of the second. I'm not sure the details of it yet fully but we'll see in good time.

I absolutely love the idea of RPing in the Other World after an epic (or perhaps not so epic) death, perhaps even training with a Kaio... so I'm looking forward to it.
