It was the middle of a beautiful warm day on the Planet known Earth. He had just finished a large training session that had started in the early morning of the day. Somehow he had managed to slip out of the apartment without waking his two gorgeous roommates. Of course when they woke up they would probably have a good idea of where he went so early, He was either out looking for a fight or spending his time training. Which the second one was the right answer. After his training though he decided to do something different for a change. He figured he'd kick back and relax for as little as a few hours and enjoy what Earth has to offer. He really hadn't done that since he arrived and it would be a nice change of pace to actually relax his body and considering he really never did that other than during his nightly few hours of sleep he figured there would be many potential benefits from it. His picked location was a beach. He had heard the sound of the ocean before and found it so peaceful that he couldn't resist picking this location.
His exact location on the beach was perfect for the warrior. Today it had been somewhat packed in the easy spots of the beach. So he had decided to lay down with his arms crossed and hands under his head on the far right side near the edge of some boulders. If somebody were to want to go their they would have to spend some time and take a nice little hike to get there, of course for Athren that wasn't the case at all. He simply flew there and landed.
He had already been there for about thirty minutes or so and he had countless thoughts running through his mind. Ones as simple as his currently place of living with the two pyro sisters to his battle with the Namekian warrior known as Ukare. It really wasn't much but he didn't really have much else to think of. He was getting used to the planet Earth and was really enjoying it there. It was a massive swap from the Planet that he was born and raised on.
During his train of though the last thing he expected to happen, well happened..
He heard the sweet soft voice of a female coming from the soft sand to his right.
"Well don't you look lonely over here, mister. You know, if you want to relax by yourself there are much easier places to get to that don't involve so much walking."
Athren's eyes had now opened and his head turned to the direction of the voice. What he say wasn't exactly expected. What he saw was a blue long hair, blue eyed young woman. Wearing a blue sun dress with a necklace around her neck. She looked quite amazing from Athren's judgement.
He then sat up and rose to his feet. He slowly brushed the sand off of his saiyan jumpsuit and replied. Of course he couldn't happen but notice the arched brow when she had got a very good look at his battle gear and his strange attire. Especially with his armour and scouter on and his tail flowing softly behind him. Athren really only wrapped it around his waist if he was in a serious fight. If it was only a spar it wasn't that big of a deal to him. If felt nice having it flow behind him and it made his figure better.
" This place isn't as hard to get to for me as it is for you." he replied sternly as it was a fact. While she had walked all this way to the location he was at. He had simply flown in and landed.
" How so? Can you fly or something? Because I don't see any vehicles around." She had asked him as she scanned him from head to toe. " You're definitely not from around here, are you?"
He smirked faintly and replied. " Something like that yeah." Of course he was referring to his flight at this point and he figured she'd leave shortly after discovering that he was different. "I'm from somewhere far away. Let me guess the tail gave that one away?"
She smiled brightly as he answered. "So you know how to control your ki? I've been working on the whole flying thing but it isn't as easy as I was hoping and yes, your tail and your whole goofy attire were more than enough to give it away." She then extended her small and soft right hand out to him. "I'm Bree!" she said with a little bit of excitement.
Athren shook her hand softly yet with a firm grip. He was slightly shocked to hear that this human looking girl knew about ki. "So, you know about Ki and are learning to control it?"
She then responded with a little bit longer of an answer than Athren would have though. " Well I can already control it but I want to learn more things. I've got a group of friends who are training to be the most powerful fighters on the planet and I'm their healer! I learned how to use my ki to heal the injured but I really want to learn how to fly so I can make myself more useful for them. It's a pain in the ass having them carry me around all the time and they think it's hilarious to drop me only to catch me before I smuck the ground." At that moment she gave an unimpressed look. It would probably be a terrifying event to be dropped like that, especially if she were helpless and couldn't save herself
had they failed to catch her in time.
Athren arched a brow curiously. Other fighters from this planet whom want to become the most powerful on the Planet? That was highly unlikely from what Athren had seen from the Earthlings. Anzu and Kaiyo were the only exception to the homegrown race that Athren could say were in his level of skill. The rest of the human race wasn't up to par.
" Fighters from here trying to become the strongest? That'll never happen. I've seen what this Planet has to offer and fighters are very few and far between. I only know two Earthlings that are on my level. Everyone else is far below my skill."
She couldn't help but be more interested in the man that had stood before her. She didn't think he was a fighter, his outfit didn't really look like one of a fighters outfits from her perspective. Yet again, she wasn't exactly used to seeing saiyan clothes. "You're a fighter then?! That's awesome. You should meet my friends then. Maybe you all could be sparring buddies!"
She didn't realize that Athren was right. Her friends at the most were 500 in power. Which was above normal for a human fighter but still nothing compared to the saiyan.
"It's pointless because I'm not going to be using nearly all of my power. I'd have to hold back everything to make it an even match and that wouldn't be fun or beneficial to me. I could beat all of your friends, I'm sure of it." If Athren was wrong and saw potential in her friends that's putting the assumption saying he was going to meet them. Though he didn't expect that he would.
She then crossed her arms sternly and had an unimpressed look on her face. It was probably because she had so much faith in her friends and Athren had been underestimating them so much but really it wasn't just that. Athren had seen that humans did in fact have potential but he only had met two that had actually began to explore that potential. " You haven't even met them or seen how they fight! You can't know for certain that you're going to win. These guys are some of the best fighters I've seen!" She remarked hoping to catch Athrens attention a little more.
In a very bright tone of confidence Athren replied with what he saw that fit. "Not to brag or anything but you're probably staring at the best fighter you've ever seen and I'm sure of it because I've trained my whole life. I could throw a good punch before I could speak, I was literally born and raised to be a fighter. I didn't really have any other purpose."
Thought he was speaking the truth back on Vegeta he really only had the purpose to follow orders and to fight, here on Earth he was still working on his purpose but he believed he had a good idea.
She then hummed softly for a second as she brought her right hand up to rub he chin softly. " Well! I've got an idea!" She said with a fire of excitement in her eyes. " That's if you're man enough to prove yourself of course." She then went silent as she watched Athren closely to see how he would react to the taunt she had set in place. Really it was more of a lure, she knew that a handful of fighters would always rise to prove themselves if challenged or tested and in this case she was right.
Other than arching a brow Athren really didn't move much, the challenge amused him and at this point he felt obligated to prove himself and that probably had something to do with his saiyan pride. "When and where?" Was all he said. He was eager and ready.
She then thought to herself for a moment and tried to figure out a time and a place. She knew that all her friends were busy at the moment with their daily lives and couldn't drop everything and leave to come fight a stranger. "My place right now. I'll put you against my father's body guards. They aren't as strong as my friends but at least I can get a look at how you fight. Who knows, if you do good enough my father might even hire you. "
Athren wasn't interested in being hired as some fools body guard but he was interested in proving his point. So he agreed. "Sure. Let's go then. I'll follow you if you have transportation. If not, then.." he then paused, he really didn't want to offer himself as a taxi service.
She chuckled lightly. "No! I don't have a method of transportation right now. My friend dropped me off. So.." Like Athren she had paused, but her pause wasn't awkward like Athren's. Letting her excitement of something fun happening today explode she wrapped her arms around Athren's neck and leaped up against him. She had only hoped that he caught her and not let her fall on her rear end.
"So you're taking me just like this! Now head to West Capital and I'll give you better directions from there."
When she jumped against him Athren stuck his arms out naturally to catch her. He really didn't know what to say at first because he really didn't expect this stranger to do that. It usually wasn't something you did after meeting somebody but I guess given the travel circumstances it did make sense. " uh.." He then paused as he shook his head to get a clear train of thought. " West Capital? That's where I live." He then used his ki to lift himself and his passenger off of the warm beach sand he then began his flight as he blasted towards the city where he lived. At this rate it wouldn't even take five minutes to get there, he was giving it everything he had to get there and end this awkward transportation.
Pretty much the whole way was silent. The wind was too much for Bree and she was quite uncomfortable. She was used to flying but never something this fast. She thought that if she spoke Athren wouldn't be able to hear her words so she didn't even bother trying. When the two finally did arrive the the outskirts of the city Athren slowed down quite a bit to ask one simple question. "So, where is this place exactly?" He didn't want too talk much but he didn't really have much of a choice if he wanted to prove himself.
She then slowly unwrapped one of her arms from his neck and pointed to a large mansion on the outskirts of the city. The property must have been at least two acres large with a large brick fence around it and a large gate at the driveway. There was two large buildings on it and in the backyard there was a large pool and in the front of the mansion there was a small pond that ducks had lived on. Of course this girl was wealthy, or at least her dad was. "Just land in the back by the training room and I'll set something up for you. Alright?"
Athren simply nodded his head and followed her instructions. He had landed by the smaller building of the two softly on his feet and he gently set her down. He then asked curiously yet with his stern tone of voice. "What now?"
She then smiled at him and gestured to the automatic glass sliding door of the large training facility. "Please just wait in there and I'll go find my father and some of his guards."
With that she pivoted around on the heel of her right foot and walked towards then into the mansion.
Now left alone Athren walked up to the glass door as it automatically slid open. He then walked into the training facility to see a large room filled with work out machines and then a large opening in the far right corner. He slowly walked around and explored as he spent about ten minutes alone before somebody entered.
What followed next wasn't what Athren had originally expected. Bree had walked in changed attire. Instead of the sundress she had now been in tight dark blue jeans and a white tank top with a blue plaid shirt over that. Beside her was an older man who appeared to be in his fifties at least. He was losing his hair and had a white science gown on. Behind them were ten men dressed in black suits, each of them carrying a side arm on their belts. " Follow me.. And by the way, what's your name again? I don't believe you told me."
Athren then followed near her side as she led them all to the large opening in the corner of the room. "It's Athren." Was all he had said. When they reached the opening the old man had taken a seat on a bench against the wall.
Bree then smiled at Athren brightly. "So, which one of these fine men do you want to fight? They're all pretty tough if I might add."
Athren looked over at the group and they were all smirking. They were simply underestimating him over his appearance and that probably wasn't a very good idea at this point in time.
His answer was simple and short. "All of them."
The expression on their faces had went to unimpressed to amused. They obviously thought he was crazy. "you think you can take all of us one by one and win?" Said loudly by the head of security. He was the biggest of the bunch and from appearance seemed the most fit.
Athren really didn't understand this. If these guys were paid security what did Bree tell them to get them to fight or maybe it was just a huge bonus on their next pay. Whatever it was Athren wasn't going to back down.
"One by one? I want to bring you all down at once."
When Athren had said this he had said it in his almost cocky tone of confidence. He knew he could get an easy rise out of these guys and make them angry so he was going too.
He saw that all of the security was getting red faced mad but he then got interrupted before he could make a statement about them. " Athren are you crazy or something? These guys are professionals!" Bree had said this with a light concern dwelling her her soft voice.
The old man which was her father had then interrupted her. He was very interested in Athren's confidence and something had seriously amused him about it. If Athren was as skilled as he said he was he would have future plans for the young saiyan warrior. "let him do as he wishes. If he's got so much confidence in his abilities I want to see the reason why. Now, boys. When Athren's ready do try to bring him down. I do pay you more than enough and I don't want to see you all making a fool out of me."
"Yes sir, we won't let you down!" Said the head of security. Clearly he was the one with the biggest mouth. He then ordered his boys to circle Athren and then joined them in doing so.
Athren had now crossed his arms in front of his chest as they began to circle him. They all stopped and waited for a sign that Athren had been ready to begin the brawl.
"Well, what're you clowns waiting for?" He said as his eyes were locked onto the head of securities.
" you're going to get it for trying to make fools out of us, boys! Get him"
He then made a step forward and it was in that very moment that Athren had sealed the fate of this little brawl.
Athren knew for a fact that these men weren't any more of a fighter than a mall cop or a rent a cop. They were just bigger than average men that believed that they were tough because of their job description. He knew that nobody in this room would be able to keep their eyes on him with the exception of Bree of course but he did have his doubts about her as well. When the security had begin to move towards Athren position he had used the after image technique to create the image of him standing where he was with his arms crossed just incase they had actually noticed that he moved. Quickly Athren had moved to the closest man and had given him a very light hit to the neck it was just enough to make him hit the ground and unconscious. Before he has even shown signs of falling though Athren had moved to the other nine men and did the exact same place where he had used his after image technique and crossed his arms once again to give the appearance that he didn't move.
Finally all the men had hit the ground hard and Athren had to make a question about the situation that had just occurred. "Point proven?"
Both Bree and her father's jaw had dropped and their eyes had went wide. Bree simply said "That was amazing.." As she was too shocked to get anything else out of her mouth.
His next words were much, much different then those of his daughter. He had even leaped up out of his seat when he witnessed it. "How did you do that!? That's absolutely incredible! I must know how you did that! I've never in my life seen anything like that!"
He then began to make his way over to Athren.
Athren had then responded to the mans words as he approached him. "It comes natural." Was all that Athren had said at this point. There really wasn't much else to say.
Finally the man reached him. " I must have you as my head security! With you around nobody would be able to snoop around my property or steal from me! I'll pay you well!! In fact.."
He then paused to turn to Bree. "Go get my bag from my desk! You know which one!" He then returned his gaze to Athren. "I must get back to my work, but please take what Bree is going to give you! You've completely blown me away with your performance and think of it as an advance! Also! If you ever need anything please feel free to ask me and if you wish to use this facility to train you don't even have to ask, swing by whenever you want!" He then made his way out the door he came through originally in a rush. Athren had clearly distracted him from something.
Athren once again waited by himself. Though he did have the ten downed security guys on the floor in the room with him but they weren't exactly good company right now. Finally Bree had walked back in and approached Athren. "It looks like he likes you." She then tossed a bag at Athren. "I don't know how much is there but it's probably just chump change to my father."
Athren lifted his right hand and caught the bag in a firm grip. "He really expects me to come back, doesn't he?" He said as he lowered his right hand to his side.
She then nodded with a smile. "We've never seen anything like that before and he's clearly amazed by you, so am I for that matter. If you don't come back for him you should come back to visit me. I wouldn't mind getting to know you a little bit."
Athren couldn't help but smirk a little bit even though he really didn't have much to say to her. The only words that he could find to suit the situation was "No promises." He then turned and began to walk towards the automatic door that he had entered at.
She then began walking beside him to escort him out. "Awe well, I hope you do. Really could use someone like you around here. All my dads security guys really aren't fun to talk too. All of them are too macho and boring." Exiting the building she stopped where Athren.
Athren then flared up into the big and beautiful blue sky. "We'll see. I'm a busy person so I don't have much time for visiting." Of course he was referring to his constant training schedule being the thing tying up all of his time and to Athren that was the most important thing for him to do. He then slowly lifted himself off the ground. "Maybe I'll see you around."
She then frowned slightly. "Alright, you know where I live so drop by whenever. Take care of yourself and goodbye." She gave him a light wave as she watched him blast off into the bright blue sky.
As he glided through the air he opened the bag that Bree had tossed at him.. It contained money. Though he couldn't count how much was there at the moment he was quite curious about it.. Oh well, he'd just have to count it when he got back to the apartment.
His exact location on the beach was perfect for the warrior. Today it had been somewhat packed in the easy spots of the beach.
