After a day of aiding Kiba in her training Milac knew that it was finally time for him to get some sleep. The prospect of sleep was terrifying to him, he had been experiencing nightmares over the past few days and they kept recurring over and over. He sat in his bedroll in a tiny room inside of an abandoned home that Kiba and he would have been resting at for the evening. He was meditating peacefully, his figure only took up about a foot of space both up and down in what was effectively a large closet. As he meditated he tried to focus upon letting go of his lost friend, but the thoughts of him only helped to sadden Milac further. The calm stillness of meditation only helped to make Milac grow more tired, and within a few minutes he was leaned up against the wall of the room with his eyes closed. He had slipped into a slumber.
Milac stood up from his meditation and found himself on a lush green field outside of a small pond full of lily pads and large green frogs. He had to blink and rub his eyes because each of the frogs seemed to have humanoid like faces and even hair. One of the frogs had red eyes with strange hair that shined vibrantly, and it was pale green. Another had dark hair and even seemed to have a tail coming out of the back of it. A third frog seemed to be stuck on a lily pad and was wrapped in what seemed to be a full body cast.
“I am glad to see that you all are finally getting along!” Milac said to the three frogs, he didn’t even speak as if this were the strangest thing he had seen in his life. The dream Milac seemed to recognize this as normal. Suddenly he heard a noise from behind him, feminine voices were laughing in the background.
Turning his head Milac noticed that he was now surrounded by butterflies. Each butterfly seemed to have the anatomy of a female human, and they were in fact all ladies that had appeared in the adult magazine that Milac had religiously studied as an anatomy guide to the human body. They flew around Milac and laughed, until eventually Emer-Frog let his large tongue loose and grabbed one of them, pulling the naughty butterfly into his mouth. The other butterfly models flew off letting out little shrieks of terror.
“You didn’t have to do that you know.” Milac scolded, but when he turned back to the pond the frogs and the inhabitants seemed to have disappeared completely. Milac frowned but then he saw a familiar sight in the distance. It was the home of the Guru, and at the base of the hill where it resided was the village where he grew up at. Milac took to the air excitedly, but no matter how hard he flew it seemed like his home was on the distant horizon. Getting frustrated, he landed on the ground and just stared off at his village.
“You know you can’t turn back now. Let’s get going kid.” A voice said from behind him.
Milac turned around to the familiar voice. It was Bana, the namekian pilot who had transported him to earth. That is how he perceived it anyways, in truth what he saw was Kiba. Somehow in his dream state his brain had decided that Kiba’s body would represent Bana, although the voice coming out of her mouth was distinctly that of Bana’s. She was still partially wrapped up in a full body cast, but she seemed completely able to move.
“Right. I guess we should get moving then,” Milac said to Bana-Kiba. With that Milac began flying into the air and Bana-Kiba followed behind him. Within an unrealistic time period the two were in the reaches of outer space, breathing completely fine without any sort of life support. The space around them seemed incredibly superficial, almost like the stars and planets were all made out of cardboard cut outs. What was stranger was the Milac was now viewing himself from the third person, and it appeared that the frog versions of Emer and Toma had hitched a ride on his body as well.
A few moments passed by and already Milac had reached earth. Unlike all of the superficial things that had surrounded him in this dream world outer space, this planet was fully three dimensional and realistic. As he grew closer to the planet his view switched back to his own and he could feel the sensation of being pulled downwards. To his terror it appeared as if he had lost his ability to fly. He began plummeting towards the earth, facing Kiba-Bana and the two frogs as he fell. They seemed to be perfectly fine and even waved goodbye to Milac as he was falling. The last thing he could see of his traveling companions was Emer-Frog sticking his tongue out and swallowing Toma-Frog whole…
That is when Milac plummeted through a cloud. The big white cloud seemed to follow him and wrap around him as he continued to fall. When Milac landed the cloud had transformed into something else, a thick snow. Everything was black for a moment, and then Milac was able to open his eyes again. He was surrounded by white, and to his surprise when came digging into the snow it was his own face that he saw. Within that instance he knew that his consciousness was in the wrong place and it seemed as if the view began to warp in a one eighty. Now he was the one who had been doing the digging and he was looking at the face of the dead pilot, Bana.
Letting out a cry that was completely silent, everything around Milac began to shatter and crack as he was covered in energy. By the time his small tantrum was over the ship was no longer covered in snow and all that was left was Bana’s body and himself inside of a large crater.
Finally, Milac opened his eyes and stood up. What a terrifying dream it was that he just had. He was back inside of the cabin that he and Kiba were staying at for the night. Milac decided that he needed some fresh air, and so he opened the door to go back into the main room. With a sigh of relief, he saw Kiba was still there, sleeping on a floor mat. As he got closer, however, he noticed something strange. Kiba didn’t have a face.
In a panic Milac got down on his knees and began trying to heal her. His ability did not seem to be working right, her flesh had begun to deteriorate the second that he had begun his healing technique upon her body. Even after his attempts to stop healing the flesh just continued to deteriorate until all that was left of Kiba was a skeleton surrounded by a pool of blood. Milac fled for the door and he could hear chanting in the background.
“Demon! Demon! Demon! Demon!” it was in the same voice that the butterfly women from before had. He was unable to find the source of the chanting. As he exited the cabin he found himself in a strange world. Right outside where the training area should have been was a strange stock of enormous celery that reached into the heavens. He could see something bowl shaped at the top. The thought of flight must not have occurred to the still dreaming Milac. He immediately ran towards the tower of celery.
Digging his hands into the tower made of vegetable, Milac began a very slow ascent into the sky. For every couple of steps that he took he seemed to slide down a few more against the smoothness of the moist celery. With each ascent he had to dig his fingers into the flesh of the vegetable and rip into it in order to climb. Throughout this entire climb he could hear the sounds of the butterfly women, still chanting demon but being unable to see where it was that they were located. Night and day seemed to change rapidly during his climb, rotating between the two in a matter of a minute or so.
Finally, Milac had made it to the top of the celery tower. Now at least it appeared to be a stone structure when he was able to make it to the bottom of the bowl shaped object.
“…” Toma was standing at the lowest floor of this sanctuary in the sky. He seemed to be saying something but words were not coming out of his mouth. Milac couldn’t seem to cognate the expressions of Toma either, and so he continued about his way without stopping. He had noticed a door that led to the inside of this strange structure in the sky.
As he entered he was once again back where the dream had started in New Namek. The look on his face widened and was speechless. He was once again sitting at the pond where he had started and was surrounded by frogs and butterfly women who were laughing cheerfully. This time Milac seemed to be more agitated than anything and he flew back into the air by himself. This time as he broke the plain of the sky he saw the bowl shaped structure that he had just been inside of, but the climb now seemed irrelevant as he landed upon the ground at the top.
He saw another Namekian child, who had his back facing Milac as he landed at this strange place. Within a moment after Milac had landed there he could see a dark shadow rising over the top of the structure in the sky. The shadow was large and amorphous, but the other Namekian boy seemed to be doing battle with it by sending bolts of light at it. Milac himself stood there, frozen in fear. The enormous darkness descended over the boy and began swallowing him, a beam of light seemed to be shielding him but it quickly faded. After only a brief moment the darkness enveloped him and things began to blur.
Soon the darkness seemed to be gone, but the boy lay upon the ground. He appeared to be defeated, but was it possible that his sacrifice had stopped the darkness? Milac approached the body, with his head hung low. Then he felt a shock as he saw what he was staring at. Although to a human it would be difficult to tell any Namekian apart, Milac knew who he was seeing based upon things such as antenna size and separation as well as bone structure. Milac was looking at himself.
The corpse began to twitch wildly, and within a moment it was standing at eye level with Milac. Inside of its eyes was the same clouded darkness that he had just been fighting. This doppelganger rushed towards Milac and let out a flurry of punches and kicks, to which Milac was too shocked to return or even defend himself. After a brief slam of the elbow into Milac’s gut, he had fallen to the ground and began coughing up purple blood. The dark clone seemed to laugh although everything was silent…
And then the silence broke as he began charging a powerful attack. Darkness seemed to be forming in his hands and the ground of the lookout below him seemed to crack and warp. Within a few moments of charging this attack the entirety of the lookout was floating in pieces. As the entity was about to throw his dark beam of energy at Milac, in desperation Milac cried out and delivered a quick blast of ki at it. The ki came out as a burst of white light, sending the creature backwards.
The creature stood again, letting out a wretched laugh. It began to grow in size, when it was done the being’s clothes were ripped off and it almost didn’t even appear to be Namekian anymore. It had bulbous muscles and jagged teeth, and it was quite larger than even an adult Namekian despite the fact that the body had been that of a child’s.
Milac did the opposite of what his instincts had told him and he sat down. As the creature came to attack him again, he did nothing. The creature began beating into his body, literally smashing Milac like a bug. When the creature was finished all that remained of Milac was scraps of green flesh and a pool of purple blood. Satisfied the creature turned away…
The pool of blood that had been Milac had begun to boil wildly. The sound of the stirring caused the beast to turn around and look upon the remains with curiosity. It approached cautiously but had a smirk on its demonic face. As it got up to the pool of blood it spilt into it and all seemed to stop for a moment…
As if the pool of blood had been a gateway into a much deeper ocean, a large and scaley head came flying out of it. It’s teeth where massive and it appeared to be serpentine. It grabbed the evil being with its enormous jaws and swallowed him effortlessly. This dragon came crawling out of the pool of blood, and it was massive. Within a few moments though, it began to shrink and the body of Milac was all that remained. The only thing that was different about Milac was that he seemed to be wearing an “I Love Bao” T-Shirt instead of his traditional robes.
Milac opened his eyes and was finally free of the dream. He awoke and looked at the room around him. He stepped out of the walk in closet and he saw Kiba laying there. She had her face intact and everything seemed to be OK. With a sigh of relief he stepped out and saw that the sunrise was in the distance. He saw the city of the south where he needed to be.
“I’m sorry but I must go my own way…” Milac said under his breath as he made his way towards the south capital. He was going to find out where he needed to be at in order to claim his title as ambassador.
