A roar of cheers erupted as the Namekian stepped onto the stage, his eyes locked on King Kai, who quickly shuffled off the stage. With a confident smirk, he folded his arms, awaiting his opponents arrival. He glanced upwards, trying in vain to catch a glimpse of the cursive A on his head; it irritated him to be forced to wear this stupid tattoo, but the Devil assured him the symbol would dissipate once the tournament was over.
Being matched up against Zerori of all people to start with wasn't the best, but it happened. She was the toughest competitor here, no doubt. Even if she was asked by Alaistair to "make it a good show", there was no way he would win without being clever. In short, it would be a miracle if Xylo succeeded in this first match.
She’d only just started to sit down between two friendly aliens talking back and forth, tossing them both a grin in greeting, when her name was suddenly called up for the first round of the fights. Looking up she flushed deeply before standing and tossing a wave at her very brief acquaintances, pulling a leg up onto the rail in front of her and jumping from the crowd toward the large arena. Landing with a loud tap of her boots, clad in other the deep red tank top that was usually under her armor, Zerori looked over at her opponent. “So, you ready to put on a good show?” She asked, a wry grin pulling at her lips as she rolled her shoulders.
A brief flash later, her hair would stand a bit straighter with a bright white change in color. Dropping the grin, she asked loud so only he could hear, whispering softly. “Just so that I don’t end this too quickly, I’m gonna tell ya when I’m gonna do shit, alright?” It bothered her that she had to stage anything, but business was business. “Do your best to dodge, cool?” Waiting for his response, she would start up the festivities by pulling her body back a step and leaning into a very low stance.
With a snap of her fingers, the proverbial gloves were on. Flaming gloves. ---
Super Demon Transformation activated. Current PL: 5,082,378
Xylo scowled as the Demon-Woman stepped onto the stage. Her entrance was nothing short of annoying. "I suppose," grunted the Namekian as he settled into the Mazoku battle stance. His eyes widened slightly as the Demon transformed into her "Super Demon" form. It was nothing he hadn't sensed before, but it quickly reminded him how far behind he truly was.
"I can fight just fine without prompts from you. It's bad enough that Alaistair made us agree to this; I don't need you belittling me further."
Suddenly, the massive gong resting on the grass beside them was rung, signifying the beginning of the match. Wasting no time, Xylo hopped forwards, breaking into a sprint as he charged towards her. With a mighty shout, the Mazoku pulled his fist back, swinging it towards Zerori. His aim was off by quite a bit intentionally, allowing him to whiff spectacularly. He used the momentum of his own strike to tumble forwards, before stopping himself directly behind her.
Should he succeed in getting behind Zerori, he'd quickly aim a sweep-kick towards her legs to throw her off-balance, before hopping upwards to attempt to headbutt her in the gut.
[KP: 3/3] The fight is on! Hopefully my attack isnt too convoluted.
Zerori let out a snort in response to Xylo’s sour reply, her eyes narrowing to antagonize him further, “Ooo, I bet Alaistair really pissed you off with this arrangement, huh?” It was then that he had made the first move, wiping off the grin Zerori had on her face away for a brief moment to be serious. Although the hit was miles off, she followed the trajectory it was going and felt her legs fall from beneath her.
Her gait making her fall backwards, her tail would swung out to balance her before she spun around to face him completely. Mere fractions of a second later, her breath would be robbed from her as his head impacted against her stomach. “Shit,” She coughed, her hands coming up to grasp at the back of his head and the other looping under his left arm, “Your head could use some tenderizing!” Hissing out the last word, she would simultaneously lift him up into the air by her hand-holds and fall backwards unto the ground.
It was a very old technique but grappling was always her first love – and who didn’t love good ol’ fashioned suplex? “Y’ready to turn up the heat?!” She laughed tensely and, keeping hold on his head, she would intensify the fire upon her hands against his skin. It wasn’t much but it would at least look painful.
A satisfied grin came to play on Xylo's face as he felt his head make contact with Zerori. She was stunned for mere moments, but was quickly able to devise a counter-attack. She gripped the Mazoku Lord by the back of the head and quickly flung him over her, causing the both of them to slam into the tile, Xylo taking the most of the impact. As the duo hit the ground, the crowd erupted with a cheer.
Xylo grunted painfully, trying in vain to escape Zerori's intense grip. With an ominous laugh, the Demon-Saiyan popped off a quick joke, as her fire-covered hands increased in intensity. The pain wasn't unbearable, but the fire would most certainly leave a few burn marks.
"Damn Witch! I'll show you some tenderizing!!!"
Suddenly, Xylo's head was coated in a deep purple glow, as his Ki rose sharply. In a sudden flash, Xylo's head-fin extended outwards like a sword, attempting to cut through Zerori like a knife through butter! Should the attack succeed in at least getting Zerori to move away, the Namekian would hop to his feet, taking a defensive stance as he waited for Zerori's inevitable Counter-Attack.
[KP: 2/3] Used [RACIAL]Limb Extension to extend head-fin! Used [N1]Demon Rend! 33% charged for a damage potential of: 1,176,726!
You know, for a Namekian (and Zerori didn't have a very high opinion of them, though not necessarily a bad one either), Xylo was a whole hellof a lot feistier than most. She'd met a few in her travels but none that could catch her off guard as this one could. At his taunt, likely a real one at that, the demon felt herself nearly lose her head at the sudden lurch of his head fin.
Throwing her head backwards to avoid it in time, she released him and grasped the floor before her body disappeared in a flourish of swift air. Re-apparing a small distance away with her crouched to one knee, she offered Xylo a smirk, albeit with a few beads of sweat on her face, "What, do you all come with that feature or are you just unique? Hey," She continued to taunt, hoping she'd piss him off to another unique action, "-if you've got any other tricks, now's the time to use 'em." She threw a fist into the palm of her hand, "I know I've got plenty show you." She promised and tossed him a secret wink.
Never mind that she really, really... didn't. --- Dodged 'Demon Rend' with 'Wind Evasion' [SU]. K/P: 2/3
The Namekian smirked as he stood. He might not have been as strong as the Super Mercenary, but at the very least he had some brains over her brawn. He wasn't sure how long that trend would last, but he hoped that at the very least it'd hold him over until the end of the match. Zerori may have been requested to hold back, but that didn't mean it would make things simple.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure to show you everything I've got in my bag of tricks."
Xylo stared the Demon down. He knew he needed to keep on the offensive. The moment he let up would be the moment he lost this match, and he wasn't going to let that happen any time soon.
The Mazoku leapt into the sky, stopping his ascent a few feet up. He quickly began to rain down a barrage of Ki attacks, hoping not to damage the woman, but instead cloud her vision. Should he succeed, he'd quickly extend his arm down towards wherever Zerori's energy currently sat, attempting to coil around her body like a snake. If he got a grip on her, he'd begin to swing her body around wildly, before flinging her towards the grass surrounding the ring! If she fell there, then he'd win by Ring-Out for sure.
Xylo was more than aware of the fact that the Demon would be able to stop herself from landing on the grass, but the tactic would probably disorient her for at least a moment if he pulled it off, which would give the Namekian a minuscule advantage.
[KP: 3/3] Xylo gettin a bit tricky again! Used [RACIAL] Limb Extension!
Staring at the body of her opponent in the air, Zerori narrowed her eyes with a scoff. When light caught her attention and her eyes widened in realization, she’d start a quick set of rolls to avoid the attacks. Yeah, sure they wouldn’t hurt that bad but what you didn’t know (in this case) could, in fact, hurt you. Skidding along the floor as they impacted against the marble, the shrapnel that came up with start to obstruct her vision and force her eyes to squint. If this was his idea of a distraction-!
Wait! Zerori thought belatedly, looking back up with a snarl, “I’m not going to lose my edge so easily!” Ignoring the pepperage of the blasts on the arena.
Breathing calmly, she waited a moment while the airs on her arms stood on end in preparation for something. And then, as the dust began to settle, there came a vice-like grip around her body. Entangled, stared but not trapped completely, Zerori gnashed her teeth together and she leveled out her stance and remained as stone-like still as possible to render herself immovable.
Straining, she’d looked back up at him with a dark chuckle, “I’d say this counts,” Her hands came up to grasp at the flesh of his arm, “-as your LAST trick!” And with a mighty heft of her abdominal muscles (just to name a few at work here), she made to slam his body into the ground. Whether or not it actually brought him down was of no consequence to her. Now it was a matter of dominance… not victory. Zerori stepped closer to him, a sigh of exertion passing her lips, “Y’mind if I give this arena a run for its’ money? It’s only fair since, you know-,” She winked. “I let you attack first.”
-- Used 'Grapple Failsafe' [N1] with a PL of 1,677,185 without the actual electricity to sl-sl-sl-slam yo body to the ground. Or maybe just knock you out of the air. Your call!
As the Super Demon gripped Xylo's arm, only one thought crossed his mind. Aw shit. He'd relied on his stretching technique too much in the last few moments, allowing Zerori to catch on and find the perfect moment to strike. The girl pulled downwards with immense force, forcing Xylo to slowly lose his height. He began to sweat in fear, as he tried in vain to keep himself from falling out of the sky due to Zerori's immense force.
His shouting ended abruptly as his face met with concrete, causing a massive chunk of the arena to become indented. There was a brief silence, before the crowd suddenly exploded with an uproar of applause! Xylo sat in pained silence for a moment, before standing up slowly. He panted lightly, shaking his head as he regained his composure.
"Not bad for an amateur," he said, smirking.
Not wanting to waste a moment, the Namekian brought both of his hands up to eye level, allowing his Ki to rush through his arms. Suddenly, two orbs of bright yellow Ki formed, one in each palm. The size of the orbs slowly increased, becoming the size of basketballs in just a few moments. "You've wasted quite a bit of energy, Zerori. Much more than I have. Maybe you should be a bit more careful in the future."
His energy surged upwards, reaching levels that rivaled even Zerori...
[KP: 3/3] Charging [MP3] Scatter Shot! 100% charged this turn, will become 200% charged next turn.
The crowd around them, which Zerori had hardly be paying much attention to until this moment, was crying out for more as Xylo got to his feet. She grinned at the crowds around them before her blood boiled at his next statement. Eye twitching at his statement, she could only stutter in utter indignance, “A-Amateur?!” It was at that moment, veteran fighter or not, that she realized how much energy she had wasted. Offense replaced by a stern expression, Zerori had a very important decision to make.
Staring at Xylo’s attack in the making, she took a step back to reassess in the quickest way possible. He was taking his time with some sort of move, no doubt making it stronger in some form. Either that or he was very good at bluffing.
Clenching her fists at her sides, she would bring one up and back behind her – as if she was preparing to throw something. “Y’know, you might be right,” She spoke with a sneer, her fingers coming together to begin a rhythm of snapping. For every loud snap of her fingers, a bright spark would ignite and throw themselves along the ground – growing brighter and brighter. Her fangs bared themselves to Xylo as she finished her words with a grin, “So lemme thank ya!”
With a mighty roar, her body disappeared in an obscure explosion of power and where Zerori once stood – a towering pillar of flames would rage against Xylo and stand nearly ten stories tall. Barely discernable words could be made out as Zerori demanded of the Namekian a threat, ”Surrender now, Xylo. I don’t care about making this FUN for you any longer!” And she wondered if her power could even be felt by her fellow student of a the devil.
--- Zerori is using ‘Demonic Intimidation’ [SU] to project of PL of 9,801,729. Will he take the bait as she replenishes her KP?
Xylo's energy continued to swell to immense proportions, dry laughter increasing in volume as he stared his foe down. The Girl was recuperating her energy still, which meant Xylo's gambit paid off. There was no way she could match up to him now, unless of course she unleashed her second transformation. As he thought this, he felt a strange sensation wash over him. Something was changing about Zerori.
In the blink of an eye, her body exploded, replaced by a wall of pure flames. The Ki that she held in her body nearly doubled in strength, reaching levels that he'd never even felt before. A bead of sweat dripped down his forehead as Zerori's voice boomed. He wasn't simply outmatched anymore--he was utterly outclassed. But despite that, he was still grinning.
"Damn, you must be pretty desperate for this victory... I've faced worse odds than this, you know. If you think flexing your muscles is gonna make me shrivel into a corner, then you're dead wrong."
His power continued to rise, electricity crackling around him as his strength began rivaling that of even a Super Saiyan 2.
"Tell me, was wasting your energy part of your deal with Alaistair, or are you just that inept in combat?"
[KP: 3/3] Charging [MP3] Scatter Shot! 200% Charged this turn, becomes 300% charged next turn!
"Oi, guys. You're being bested in showmanship! Those saiyans in the arena on the other side are creating a more exhilarating show than you are," Alaistair relayed to the two warriors, sounding quite surprised! If the two were to take a brief look over at Alaistair, he'd suddenly acquired 4 extra bags of popcorn on top of the one he was now tearing into, 1 for himself, another for the souls next to him, and two waiting on side, somewhat close to Beelzebub. His eyes were wide and brimming with excitement, despite the message he sent them.
(Zerori, Lord Xylo, a little bit of communication coming from your resident Devil man. )
I will return... And when I do, Life will prosper in the universe... UNDER MY IRON FIST!
In all her years as a mercenary, a saiyan fighting against odds that she knew she would no doubt lose against, something inside of her started to break slowly into pieces at the brave and foolish response Xylo spat at her. Compounded by the fact that she really truly WAS trying to bluff him, for the sake of her pride, incited an actual rush of disgust through her. What was she doing?! This wasn’t her actually throwing the match for the sake of some payment and a desire to return to life…
She was losing.
In fact. If she had any sense at all, or even a conscientious understanding of her situation… she would have already realized her loss from the moment her arrogance lashed out at him.
Raging flames that she’d pushed to the extreme for intimidation died down quickly, almost as if god had merely blew out a candle. Her figure would appear red-hot like an ember before it slowly cooled to her previous form, an inexplicable expression of dread on her face as she realized her position. The cold knot in her stomach tightened even further, “I-I’m NOT-!” She began to yell, coming out less aggressive than she’d intended and she had to stop herself. Grinding her teeth together, she tried once more, “You think you’ve won…?” She snarled lowly in her throat, fists clenched so tightly at her sides that the claws in her gloves cut into her palms.
Alaistair’s voice cut through in her mind and her lips curled back into a snarl at his demand for a better fight. Unable to see him (or have the care to) his words caused an age-old frustration since her younger days to inflame.
The energy around the arena started to warp, like a flammable gas was wafting the area – just waiting to be ignited. A pain in her chest told her what she needed to know as the inky darkness quickly surged up her neck to her face. As her body changed and her voice dropped to a deeper treble, “You haven’t won yet!” As her body completely changed from her former visage, she would rise to the air and present her claws to her sides in a threatening manner, ”FACE ME WITH EVERYTHING YOU’VE GOT! She demanded in so loud a voice that it would shake the very grounds beneath her.
--- Zerori, in her anger, has transformed (for real) into her ‘Unchained Darkness’ form for a PL of 9,801,729 and has challenged Xylo to launch his attack!
As Xylo's power rose, so too did Zerori's. Her Ki expanded rapidly, becoming twisted and warped by her own inner magics. Xylo grimaced as slimy black tendrils gripped onto her form, changing her body into that of a truly horrifying demon. Though Xylo was more than willing to test himself against tha beast, something tugged at him on the inside.
"As much as I'd love to test myself against such a powerful foe, there are some benefits to trickery here. She's quite the hothead; if I can get her to pull off an illegal move to get her disqualified, I'm sure @beelzebub would appreciate it. Though my training with him is complete, it never hurts to be in the favors of a deity."
He stared at Zerori with intensity in his eyes. Every part of his being was telling him to fire his attack, but his brain knew what the better option was. Even if this trick didn't work out, there was still the Loser's Bracket to wade through in the meantime.
With a dark chuckle, his energy dissipated. "No."
Xylo stepped backwards, giving Zerori a two-fingered salute. "Good fight, Zerori. As much as I hate to admit it, I can't beat you. See you in the finals." He gave the girl a sly grin, before hopping off the stage.
Surely she'd fall for this trick, no?
Xylo forfeits. Zerori can attack if she wants, but she will lose automatically if she does. If Zerori does nothing, then I'll be exiting and taking PL.
