Nai-Ran had set out early in the morning from her cave in the Diablo Desert; her destination had been Satan City. She hadn’t exactly been looking forward to visiting the large population center again so soon. However, the Ryashi didn't really have too much of a choice. While a female Kagami named Mimikku had been resting in their company, Emer had completely destroyed her wash basin and all of her new clothes. She knew very well that he hadn’t done it on purpose; it’s not like she had been angry at him over it. However, the incident had still left her with only a single set of clothing and nothing but the stream to wash it in. It was a problem that needed to be fixed as soon as possible.
The serpentine lass’s day in the city had been filled with people gawking at her and tripping over her long, white tail. As good as Mimikku’s suggestion had been to work towards putting some sort of Ryashi trading post on Earth, trying to get most humans to become used to her strange appearance wasn’t going to be a task that would be quick, easy, or enjoyable. All of that staring still made her uncomfortable despite her outward smile. It wasn't just those that inhabited Satan City that had been bringing her mood down that day either. She hadn’t missed the feeling of concrete and asphalt beneath her pearly scales either. To top it all off, trying to find a shop that had fitting rooms that she could squeeze herself into AND an employee that didn’t run away in fear at the sight of her had been a bit of a nightmare. By the time she had used up the last of her money to purchase everything she needed, the sun was already starting to set.
Nai-Ran peered down at her two stuffed shopping bags with a tired sigh. It had been a long day. She was looking forward to retreating back to the solitude that the desert had to offer. Well, perhaps that was only sort of true... The young woman was actually hoping that there wouldn’t be all that much solitude to be had by the time she returned to her cave.
Emer had suddenly taken off yesterday without so much of a clue as to why he was leaving, where he was going, or how long he would be gone. Nai-Ran had enjoyed his company quite a bit during the short time he had been living with her, even with all of his teasing. She thought he had been enjoying her company too for the most part. Had she done something to upset him and simply not have realized it? Did that have something to do with why he had left? It was hard to say since he hadn’t really given any solid information before disappearing. Was he at least taking care of himself? Trying to get that guy to take a rest when his body needed it was like pulling teeth... Between that and how he seemed to be fighting with his emotions as of late, she couldn’t help but feel worried about him.
There wasn’t much she could do about that problem but hope he was already back at the cave, or at least wouldn’t be staying out too much longer. Parking herself on the sidewalk of a densely populated area with a troubled expression on her face wasn’t going to make things any better. Nai-Ran continued to slither down the sidewalk on her way home. It would be getting dark soon.

Oguma stood up in the alley he was in and made his way out of it as he headed for the main streets in Satan City. A number of people stared at him for he was covered in blood from his own actions towards Marama and cuts from his fight with Glacius. He growled at the people looking at him as they pointed at his bare chest and feet. Fortunately, they were glad to see that the crazy brown haired, brown eyed man at least wore some black pants.
Yet Oni knew if he stayed like this he was going to draw the attention of the locals so he focused his ki and with it materialized a few bandages and cotton rags with his Magic Materialization power. He stood in the street for a moment as people stared at him and wiped the rags across his hands and body to sop up the blood from his cuts and the blood he'd spilled from Marama. It took a few minutes, but he managed to wrap up his wrists and forearms and the tops of his feet where the cuts were most severe as well as his lower chest where his scar from Pieter's tomahawk slash was still visible to this day. He'd practically lost everything he'd ever gained but his new power was sure proving useful as the people backed away and realized this man was either some kind of magician or martial artist of great skill they'd rather not be bothered messing with today.
Oni walked along and much to his great fortune, as he rummaged his hands through his pockets he found that none of the Zeni he'd owned had yet to fall out of his deep pockets. He smiled as he looked around and noticed a number of stores with glass windows and signs and realized he was in a shopping district in the city.
"Looks like it's time to buy my way back to the top." He noted as he passed by a few windows and saw in one a basket of Senzu Beans. "Cheap magic beans! Need a boost in vitality? Feed yourself with Senzu Beans!" Oni knew of these beans from stories in the demon world, but unlike on Earth beans there were not cheap or easy to come by. Instead, magic peaches had been the allowing for many demons who stole and ate them from King Yemma's park to grow into powerful monsters.
He stepped inside the shop and when the owner, a short balding man saw him he asked, "Are you a great warrior? I saw you at the window looking at my beans. I suppose they've intrigued you."
Oni nodded and he slapped down all the Zeni bills he had onto the man's counter top. "How much will this get me?"
The man looked and noted his client had at least two thousand Zeni as Oni used his fingers to fan out his money. "Unfortunately, it will only get you three beans. But actually, in your case, um, I suppose that's a good thing since you look like the type not to rely on fellow warriors in combat."
Oni huffed and said, "Yeah, I don't rely on them in combat too much." His quick work of Marama or Mei Inugami was one example of his reliance on people. "Are there any rules I need to follow, like how much would a bean heal me?"
"A single bean can heal the body of superficial and extensive damage very quickly. It restores the user's power so if they are badly beaten in a fight they will still be able to stand and possibly walk around when defeated. They will need to recover more often after this since most damage in the high ranking fights, such as ones found at the World Martial Arts Tournament, can be deemed fatal by most standards. A Senzu Bean though is very helpful though since it helps heal injuries that would take seven days to heal only one bean to heal them instantly. It also can fill one's tummy for a similar amount of time, however, I would only recommend eating one at a time since a handful of these beans will kill you."
They sounded awfully useful yet at the same time very dangerous, so Oguma set aside five hundred Zeni and stated, "Give me one for a test drive."
The old man obliged him by taking his money, fishing out a bean from his pocket, and then placing in on the counter. Then said, "If you want I can also offer other wonderful deals ranging from buying training tools to your own personal body guards."
Oni scooped up the bean, put it in his pocket, and asked, "What do you have in mind in terms of training tools? I once bought some training weights recently from a shop somewhere and they didn't turn out so well. I mean, I got stronger after using them, however, my weights broke recently in a fight after sustaining heavy damage. They were special wristbands or ankle bands that could convert into a chest strap."
"Ah..." the old man stated folding his hands together. "Those sound like light weight training weights. Ain't too great to bring those in a fight since they break easily, but I assure you they do help you get stronger." Oni knew what he was talking about since he did feel stronger after using them in the World Martial Arts Tournament. But now they were gone he felt really sad.
"I don't think you have enough to buy new ones or even heavier ones here, so let me help you with something else that could gauge as a training tool." The shop owner moved over to a shelf and came back to Oni with a strange headset with a single lens. The man handed it off to Oni and stated, "This is a scouter. Military issued and capable of gauging threats of opponents by deciphering their power level. It can communicate with other scouters on the same frequency, but is mostly used by fighters who cannot sense ki as a threat detector."
Oni gave over another five hundred zeni and took the item whereupon he attached it to his head. He needed something like this since he had no skill in detecting ki at all even though he could use it to take out the entire building he was standing in.
"Anything else I can get here?" Oni asked as he looked around the shop.
"Not much else... I'm afraid unless you want another Senzu Bean," the man bent forward over his counter though and whispered to his client, "If you want some illegal stuff though I'm sure I can find you something. We sell contracts for personal body guards and minions at my store in the back and I've just gotten in a new shipment of delinquents who have been causing a ruckus in the streets with their martial arts. I'll take you back there and you can pick out yourself someone for hire if you like."
Oni did not like working with others for free, but if he paid someone to work for him he felt sure he was going to get his money's worth in loyalty. He snickered and said, "Lead me to your cheapest fighters."
The old man finding his client satisfied went to the front door of his shop and placed up a sign in the window that said, "Store's Closed!" then he stepped in front of Oni, led him to the back of the store through a door which he unlocked and down into a basement where two door more doors were. One said "Storage" and the other said "Staff Only". Here, Oni stopped at the door second door that said "Storage" the man did and realized he didn't have a shirt on, so he materialized a white polo shirt over his muscular form with his Magic Materialization and waited for the owner to open the door. The owner picked up his keys and thumbed them before unlocking this second door with the correct key and opening
Inside the room was a single light bulb and five chairs as Oni peered in with his brown eyes. Three had a sign on it that said, "Sold!" but in two chairs sat a young man with a spiked black mohawk, sunglasses, and a leather body suit and boots. In the other chair sat a dark skinned girl with orange hair, fox ears and a tail, and a strange getup of yellow tank top, red overalls, white bell bottom pants, and a strange set of wooden sandals. Both growled and cried, "Let us go! We weren't doing anything but loitering outside yer' shop!"
The owner of the shop laughed and stated, "Ain't my fault you can't obey the law. Now you'll have to pay by becoming the body guards of another person."
The girl kicked and screamed the guy just lowered his head. There was no escape for them because the chairs they sat in were bond tightly with ropes so that they could not move their hands. As for their feet the way the four legged chairs were set up they were more like bar stools height wise, so touch the ground in order to just walk out with the chair strapped to one's back was impossible.
Oni sniggered at their predicament and said, "I never introduced myself, but I have enough money to buy one of you. You may call me Mr. Inugami. What can you two do?" He said this as he powered up his energy just a little and noticed the young man cringe.
"I-I can sense your damn energy you monster!" the man cried, "And I got the power to shoot a laser beam from my mouth thanks to my training, but it ain't too strong since I'm just able to use a basic Mouth Blast." It was a typical technique in the demon world Oni knew, but he didn't like the guy's attitude so he passed by the one man and stared at the girl.
"And you..." he asked as he pointed his right index finger at the girl's nose. She raised her head and covered his index finger with her mouth biting down hard. Oni pulled back and winced as pain ran through his hand.
"I can't sense energy, nor can I read, but I can fricking bite your finger off!" the girl mouthed as she let Oni's blood drip down her lip. She hadn't severed his finger at all due to their power difference, but had clearly caused him some pain. "I can also transform into items and beat people up with my hands quite well."
Oni looked at the man who owned the shop and handed him his five hundred Zeni. "I'll bite the crazy girl she reminds me of me," the shop owner took the cash then snapped his fingers. A large blade dropped from the ceiling and without cutting the girl at all it severed directly through the strands holding her down. She hopped off the table and ran to Oni in order to give him what appeared to be a hug, but lowered her arms and sent a punch with her right fist straight towards the small of his back. Oni though turned around at this point and took the blow straight to the gut since he was going to speak with his charge. The blow hit him hard and even though it was a well aimed shot he stood there and said, "You'll do... But could you not punch me like that Fox Girl. You're still too stupid to know who you're dealing with."
"It's Niku!" the girl shouted as she fired two more punches at his stomach. The blows hurt a little to Oguma, but not enough to knock him over as he grabbed her by the head and said, "Niku, I don't know what a girl like you is trying to do to me, but if you want to live you little school girl nor be returned to the man here shut up and stop hitting me."
Niku gulped and relaxed her fists before lowering them again. Oni let her go and she remembered how she and the boy that had been next to her were just hanging around the old man's shop when suddenly a group of motorcycle riders came up and attacked them trying to claim the turf they were on as theirs. Niku had fought with the other boy and three others only to end up winning and then getting caught by the shop owner as he blew a whistle and summoned ninjas to scoop them up off the street in the early morning. Since they she'd been sitting in the room until Oni had come and bought her for the price he had.
Without a word, Oni nodded to the shop owner as thanks then headed up the stairs and out of the shop with the wild Niku on his tail. She was glad to be free, but there was something sinister about the way the man had grabbed her and threatened her. Clearly, she was to be part of his personal entourage. "A weapon perhaps?" she pondered as she found herself dragged into the dark underworld of martial arts.
As they walked down the street Oni stated as he looked back at Niku, "I'm going to test your abilities and if we find someone strong today you are to stay back and watch unless I say so."
Niku could feel sweat come down her back as she walked down the shopping corridor with the man who'd rescued her only to pass by a strange snake lady with white hair and many bags of clothes. She smiled and without a second thought, and against Oni's orders, attempted to grab one of Nai's bags with her hands.
"What the heck!" Oni stated as he watched Niku randomly grab at the snake lady's items and try to pull them away from her. He wanted to stop his new charge, but she had a mind of her own and felt that though her evil deed was in the right place the strange serpent was not going to take this lying down.
He rushed to a spot in-between them and realized Niku was putting his desired test to the test. He was choosing his opponent for the both of them. It was unlikely though that this woman now having her things pulled away by a random stranger was going to be very strong. If he needed to he was more then willing to step in and apologize for Niku's actions, but he'd not ever since a low life human act this low before. It seemed too perfect for him to get hired help this good who would cause chaos at a moment's notice.

Nai-Ran could feel herself spacing out, staring up at the rapidly setting sun as she continued down the sidewalk of Satan City. Not only was there still a lot weighing heavily on her mind, but she had spent all day in the city and hadn’t stopped at all for her daily meal. While it was true that Ryashi could easily go a day or two without eating and still be fine, there had been a lot going on for her during the past week. It felt pretty draining. A full stomach would do her some good. At least she still had that to look forward upon arriving home if Emer still hadn’t returned.
Suddenly, the serpentine lass felt a pair of hands tugging at one of the two full shopping bags she had been carrying. The movement was enough to snap her out of her daze. The culprit was a girl with dark skin, bright orange hair, and a pair of fuzzy looking ears with a matching tail had wandered up to her and latched onto her bag. ”Excuse me, but what do you think you’re doing?” she asked, staring at the girl with a raised eyebrow. It was obvious that the Ryashi was more baffled than angry at the situation. Nai-Ran was no expert when it came to thievery, but was it common for pickpockets to target someone in the middle of the sidewalk and just attempt to snatch up one of their bags? She had always thought there was some element stealth involved...
Nai-Ran pulled the bag back to her side with relative ease. The girl was certainly stronger than any average citizen she had encountered on this planet so far, but it was still no match against the young woman’s grip. She eyed the thieving girl warily for a few moments. Nobody had ever attempted to mug the off-worlder before unless you counted the trio of Saiyans that had shown up uninvited to her cave a few days ago, if you could even call it that. She wasn’t exactly sure how to go about the situation, especially after such a pitiful attempt.
It was then that they were quickly approached by a tall man with brown hair, clad in a pair of black pants. Did he know the girl with the fuzzy ears and tail? Judging by the state of his appearance, he certainly didn’t look like he was associated with the authorities. Even if he had been, it’s not like anything of hers had actually been stolen. ”Hello there. Umm, ” Nai-Ran paused, trying to figure out what to say. The situation felt a bit awkward for her. ”Is there something that I can help you two with that doesn’t involve my purchases?”
These had been the first two people Nai-Ran had encountered all day that had willingly approached her despite her unusual appearance. Though, she wasn’t really sure whether or not that was a good thing. Normally the young woman was all about meeting new faces that weren’t scared off by her tail. Something about these two seemed a little off though, especially with the female’s odd behavior. Maybe it was just the long day getting to her...

"Actually," Oni stated as he stood there watching his new charge pull on Nai-Ran's purchased goods, "there's absolutely nothing you can help me with that doesn't involve your purchases unless you're free to take a beating from me snake girl, Oni or Oguma Inugami. Now, if you would be so kind please hand over all your stuff to my associate before I decide to rip your limbs off. It appears that this is my new charge's way to test my loyalty to me, and in case you didn't understand before hand. We're robbing you."
Like it or not if Nai-Ran wanted her goods to remain hers she would need to beat up Oni and Niku. The problem was that Oni had decided he was not about to let her do this. He stepped forward, grabbed Niku by the head and yelled, "Stupid Girl! You can take her stuff when I'm done turning her into a pan cake. Stay behind me and if you want fancy clothes, jewelry, or anything else from this shopping district please let me do all the fighting!"
Niku shivered in her sandals as she leaped back over Oni, having let go of Nai-Ran's bags, and landed directly behind him. "As you command boss. Floor this woman."
Oni cracked his knuckles then pulled out his scouter device, which should have been familiar to Nai-Ran, and pressed the button on the side of his head set to scan her current energy levels. "Oh..." he paused with shock, "You're pretty strong for a humanoid. My scouter says you've got at least 26,724 power on you. I'm glad I did this beforehand because I can now go all out against a beautiful woman." He kept his scouter on as he focused his energy and materialized a knife equal to his full power into his hand. The bladed weapon was a three inch long double-edged weapon with a small enough grip just to be comfortable enough to swing or throw.
With his weapon in hand, he threw the knife by pulling his wrist on his left hand back slightly and used his index finger and middle finger to toss it, as he aimed for Nai-Ran's right shoulder. He really did not need to throw it at such close range since the distance between them was hardly three feet between, but he sought to test his foe's reaction time before maybe getting himself knocked around a bit or overtaking here with his own power.
Hopefully, this first attack was going to cause the snake girl some minor damage or at least cause her to drop her large bags since she could not keep them in hand and fight easily without ruining them. Oni smiled as the knife sailed along one of the smallest trajectories he had seen and in the moment it was moving he pulled his left fist back to his hip and prepped to smash Nai-Ran with a strong punch the moment it wounded her.
The ball though was now in Nai-Ran's court and whatever happened next was her decision. It was time to fight. And that was how it was going to be.

Nai-Ran narrowed her eyes at the two that had confronted her and were demanding that she handed her bags over. The female’s attitude when she had tried tugging her bags away had seemed to be almost a playful one, like she was treating it like a half-hearted game of ‘tug of war’. Thought, that may have just been because of the difference in their levels of strength. The man with the brown hair was a different story entirely. He was flat out telling her that she was to hand them over or they would squish her into the pavement. The Ryashi certainly had been attracting some unsavory people as of late.
”You’re going through an awful lot of trouble to pilfer a wash basin and some clothes that wouldn’t fit either of you,” she scoffed, tilted her head to the side. Nai-Ran was used to wearing clothes that were fitted to her form. That was another reason it had taken her so long to buy what she needed, and why making sure she could use the shops fitting room had been so important. Baggy or loose-fitting clothes just didn’t feel right. ”If it’s Zeni you’re after, I’m afraid you’ll be sorely disappointed there too. What little I had has already spent.”
It honestly didn’t appear to matter what was in her bags. The man, who introduced himself as Oni, and his female associate looked like they would be starting trouble with Nai-Ran either way. This wasn’t what she needed right now at all. All the Ryashi wanted to do was slither back home for some food and sleep! Was that really so much to ask for?
Oni yelled at the girl to get back before pulling out a scouter and using it to get a reading on Nai-Ran. She was familiar with what the tiny computer was used for by now since she had encountered others with them as well. While he was a little surprised at first by the number that had popped up, he didn’t seem worried in the slightest. If the young woman was more powerful than he was, then it probably wasn’t by much. Either that, or he had some kind of trump card on his side that she wasn’t aware of. ”It’s a bit too late for flattery, wouldn’t you agree?” she asked with a raised eyebrow. ” You may act like little more than a common thug, but I suppose I can still give you a return introduction. I am Nai-Ran.”
With her eyes on his face and scouter, the young woman didn’t see the knife that had appeared in his hand until it was too late. Oni’s first attack had definitely caught her by surprise. The serpentine lass winced as she felt the sharp blade pierce her skin and sink itself into her right shoulder, though thankfully it stopped only about half way in.
With the blade still partially embedded into her shoulder, Nai-Ran quickly ducked under the fist that had been aimed at her as a follow up attack. There was no way she could fight efficiently like this. The Ryashi quickly put a few feet of distance between herself and her assailant before tossing both of her bags into the alley next to her so they would be out of her way. Gritting her teeth, she pulled the knife from her flesh and tossed it to the ground. The freed blade was covered in her indigo hued blood, and the wound it had made was becoming covered in the same color, soaking into the black dress that she wore. Well, that outfit was ruined... Now she really needed to hang onto the clothes she had bought that day. Still, how could she have let him catch her off guard like that?! It was a mistake that she was determined not to let happen again.
With both hands now free and blood slowly seeping out of her shoulder, Nai-Ran clenched her fists and started charging up her ki. While she did this, she attempted to ensnare Oni’s right ankle with the tip of her tail. Were she to be successful, she would then lift him into the air before slamming him back down into the pavement. However, whether the first attack was to succeed or not, it would be followed up by a pair of ki beams shot forth from her crimson eyes.

Once Nai-Ran pulled the blade out of her shoulder Oni felt she did have a point that they were more like common thugs then anything else with all that she told them. Oni did not mind though because she at least gave him her name and definitely showed she had enough power to take him on. Oni really had no idea why his charge wanted Nai-Ran's stuff, but he was happy she had managed to find this kind of opponent for him. His first punch clearly missed its target as he felt her ki change. He was so focused on thinking of what to do next that he barely saw her tail strike at his feet.
Luckily, as he was lifted up and slammed back towards the pavement he touched his chest with his left hand and formed a demonic suit of armor over his torso, making his body strong enough to cushion the blow a little. Wincing, the woman fired some ki beams from his eyes which he also took as he cried, "Fox Girl! You get out of here! You find somewhere to hide while I deal with this snake!"
The slithering woman's tail seemed to get tighter around his ankle as Niku dashed towards his enemy and skid to a halt next to Oni. "No way! I'm fighting with you on this one!"
The girl had never fought this kind of battle before, but in order to free Oni she stooped over Oni, grabbed at his arms and tried pulling on his body to free him, but her strength was definitely not enough to move him as she groaned with great effort.
"No, no, no... That's not a way to free me. She's got you beat in strength didn't you hear me read her power level?"
Niku shook her head no. "It's twenty six thousand." He turned his head to hers and said, "Yours is five thousand." he stated as his scouter beeped and scanned his minion's power.
Not feeling beaten, Oni turned his head back to Nai-Ran, raised his right hand and fired a beam of energy directly into the woman's face. If she managed to dodge or block this that was going to be impressive, however, he also knew Nai-Ran could easily blast Niku off the face of the earth if she wanted to just to irk him.

Nai-Ran was a bit impressed with her opponent’s ability to cause things like knives and armor to materialize out of nowhere like that, but she was far too busy trying to teach a lesson to a bully to express such a thing. Though, she was a bit surprised when he told his female companion to get out of there and save herself after she had tried to come to his rescue. The young woman didn’t know too much about Powel Levels or how they were measured, but the numbers he read off still obviously meant that she was weak in comparison to the both of them.
”I am no snake. I am a Ryashi,” Nai-Ran said plainly before smashing him into the pavement once again with her tail. ”Miss, while I don’t know your name, you would do well to listen to your accomplice. Unless you’re still set on trying to rob me, I have no quarrel with you.” Having said that, Nai-Ran would attempt to knock ‘Fox Girl’ away by swinging Oni into her, who was still ensnared by her tail. If the attack connected, it would likely send her flying down the sidewalk a little ways The Ryashi had no desire to cause her any harm, but didn’t want her in the way either.
After her attempt to swat the weaker or the two warriors out of the way of the fight, the now armor-clad Oni raised his right arm and fired a short ranged burst of ki her way. While she had managed to raise her forearms up in time to shield her face from the blast, it had still hit her with enough force to send her backwards and loosen her grip on the man’s ankle.
The young woman skidded across the pavement on her back for a few feet before slamming her palms onto the ground and forcing herself back up. The young woman crouched low to the ground and began to charge her ki again. By now, anyone that had still been on the street had wisely run for cover. Nai-Ran was still worried about property damage though. The sooner she could end this bout, the better. It definitely wasn’t helping her dissolve the monstrous image she carried for most of the denizens of Earth.
Nai-Ran raised herself back to her normal height and fired off three small ki blasts in Oni’s direction. ”You know, I really don’t have a quarrel with you either. Why are you so set on fighting me if none of the things I have on me are of any use to you?” she called out to him with a raised voice before charging in his direction. Her right fist pulled back and poised to slam him in the dead center of his chest if he did nothing to dodge or block the incoming strike.

Oguma hit the pavement again as Nai-Ran announced she was not a snake, but a Ryashi. Niku, feeling her boss was down for the count, quickly took a defensive stance and lowered into a low crouch with her hands balled into fists against her hips. Nai-Ran quickly stated her desire to not hurt Niku, but the fox girl did not believe that, especially as Nai-Ran swung her tail into her torso along with Oni much faster then her body could react. The girl went flying and ended up hitting the asphalt a hundred feet away from the fight. She was okay, but as she lifted up the upper half of her body to look at Oni and Nai-Ran she felt a stinging sensation surge through her back.
"Boss..." she croaked. It only took Niku a single blow to lose consciousness, but she was lucky to get away from this with her life.
"You're going to pay for that," Oni voiced as he heard his minion's cry of pain. His eyes kept on Nai-Ran though who had raised her arms in time to shield herself from his own beam before firing off her own at him. He took the moment to analyze them and noticed they were a little stronger then his own before firing off three of his own with both hands in response. The beams collided blasting energy outwards that caused the people running for their lives to scream in terror.
"Oh Satan!" one guy screamed as he had the unfortunate experience to be vaporized in the ensuing burst of energy. His cry was for the famed hero Satan to come and save him. Maybe even compel these two to stop fighting. Sadly, no man of his caliber was coming. It was just Oni and Nai-Ran on this battlefield as Oni allowed himself to be swallowed up in the explosion just to show how much damage he was able to take.
When it ended he smiled in her general direction and attempted to look through the thick, black smoke and debris knocked around the street thanks to his counter measure saying, "Well, Ms. Ryashi. It seems you haven't killed me yet. Better say your prayers because if this smoke clears I will find you."
At this point, he did look back at his injured partner and thought quietly, "You really shouldn't have been here, but oh well, you're expendable to an extent." The only thing Oni could see Niku good for was being a woman. With his future plan of taking over as head demon of the Inugami clan installed in his mind he needed to wipe the slate of current family members away and raise money to make his demon army invincible. Having seen Tsumuri's group a bit in action during his fight with Glacius he had come to find minions vital to his endeavors, but only if they served him with 100%. With the death though of Choi Pan, Pei Pan, Yabun, and Akatsuki by his siblings hands. And now the death of his sister by his own hands things were definitely looking up.
He wanted to laugh yet stifled it with a wicked grin as he thought the only member of his family left was the "powerful" De-mon. Oni was going to kill him too, but first he wanted to make his mark known to the world and could do so by defeating small fry like Nai-Ran. His eyes scanned the ground in order to hide his intentions from Nai-Ran and upon doing this he managed to spot a poster floating across the road.
It read, "Wanted: Oguma Inugami, Bounty: 80,000 Zeni for disrupting and helping destroy World Martial Arts Tournament. Dead or alive."
It looked like he was already getting some fame, but he was surprised that the world was offering that much Zeni for him. He stomped down the letter now ignoring Nai-Ran for the moment as he looked again back at Niku and thought, "Hm, I could kill myself and get a whole bunch of Zeni or force her to turn me in later and get that Zeni for myself. But... I'm not really sure how that will work out with however many traps or guards they could have. I suppose I'll just spend my time here beating up this lady as poor as she is or not. Women are only good for being manipulated or at manipulating anyway."
His clear interaction with Mei Inugami formed this opinion of his because she had tried to kill him rather quickly. If he now killed his brother he would be the last of his demon species and would need someone trust worthy like Niku. She was human and therefore if anything went bad fighting her would not be so hard, but as he stood there lost in thought he bopped himself on the forehead with his hand and said aloud, "I need to pay attention. I can use Niku for my demon imperial purposes whenever or however I wish to later." By this point it was highly likely that Nai-Ran had already or was using attacks on him at this very moment, but his clear lack of will to step up to the plate and fight was yet to be shown as Oni was a very slow acting demon in a fight where he had no clear goal for himself. This fight had been brought to him upon his servant's actions, not his own, which he had yet to condone.

The Ryashi winced as she watched Oni’s accomplice fly backwards and lose consciousness. Oh dear, it looked like she had overdone it. If there was any chance of them coming out of this on good terms, she would have to apologize since that hadn’t been her intention at all. Nai-Ran hadn’t known what else to do though. The fuzzy-eared girl obviously hadn’t been willing to back down on her own. Perhaps she was better off being unconscious for the time being.
Oni fired off three of his own blasts to match hers. All three collided with each other, kicking up a thick cloud of dust in the process. The lack of vision would make no difference in her fist finding her opponent. However, there was something else that made the Ryashi freeze in place and halt her attack. Was that screaming?! Oh no! The streets hadn’t been completely cleared after all! From what it sounded like, her opponent didn’t even care. All he did was taunt her!
The battle couldn’t continue here. There were far too many lives at stake in such a large population center. A single miscalculated ki blast could be absolutely devastating, as had already been demonstrated. Nai-Ran was about to open her mouth and call out to Oni again, who still hadn’t answered her previous question, but stopped when he started to speak instead. His words weren’t aimed at her, but they were certainly loud enough for her to hear. ”You could stand to be a little warmer towards your allies. She was coming to your aid, and she still wanted to help you despite being told how badly outmatched she was,” Nai-Ran stated, her eyes locked on spot where she had last seen Oni before the dust had obscured their surroundings.
The serpentine lass couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at what was said next. What kind of nonsense was he spouting now? Did she mishear him when he spoke of killing himself and getting some kind of reward for it? She must have! Otherwise, what kind of sense would that make? Though, the young woman understood the last sentence he uttered enough for her brow to furrow at what she heard. ”If that’s honestly how you think, then it would seem that you haven’t met enough women. You speak like someone who’s still bitter over being scorned by a past love.”
In the very back of Nai-Ran’s mind, she couldn’t help but hear an itty bitty voice snickering at her. ’Oh? You’re hardly in a position to argue about women being manipulated...’ Wait, what? Where was this coming from all of a sudden? ’Don’t play dumb. You of all people know that I’m referring to your precious father.’ The Ryashi’s eyes widened at this. She didn’t know exactly what was going on with her right now, but her relationship with her father was nothing like that! All he wanted was what was best for her, and he put a lot of time and energy into making sure she was fit to be a leader. She wasn’t about to sit here and let the words of some brute who had no respect for life get to her.
The serpentine lass shook her head violently, pushing the condescending voice out of her mind. She resumed her charge from earlier, once again pulling her fist back and aiming to slam it into the dead center of Oni’s chest. Hopefully he hadn’t moved from his spot, as the dust was still rather thick in the air. Whether the demon was still there to be hit or not, Nai-Ran would call out to him once more. ”Our fight doesn’t belong here. There are far too many things to get in the way. I recommend we move it to outside of the city limits.” Hopefully Oni would actually answer her this time and oblige her request. Nai-Ran didn’t want anything else bad happening to the city or the people that lived there. Otherwise, she would have to be extra careful and rely on her melee attacks for the rest of this fight.

"I'm fighting you because we demons get bored if we don't destroy things. As for my allies, well, you have no right to judge since you didn't bring a friend to this fight." Oni stated, raising his head, and finally answering her latest question. Nai-Ran paused in her desire to punch him, just a few feet from him, in order to talk some sense into him but Oni wasn't up to listening. He wanted to fight and that was all so he waited for her to quiet down while he stood there crossing his arms. Hopefully, it would not take long but he noticed that the woman's eyes widened as she lost herself in some kind of thought, maybe a belt to floor him if things didn't go her way?
The woman shook her head and like before she charged Oni once more. Oni watched with great interest as a smile came across his face. He could see aiming for his chest so he lowered both his arms and allowed him to hit her there just to see what else she could dish out. It hurt as he felt his entire suit of armor vibrate from the force of her punch, but luckily he managed to stand his ground. It was then that Nai-Ran suggested they move to a different part of the city. The very edge of it. He couldn't understand why, but he looked around, then into her eyes, and said, "Sure, whatever you want. Yet know this if I win I'm making sure you can't talk ever again."
Oni bent his knees, stretched his legs, and then walked towards Nai-Ran before stopping in front of her. "I think we should move a little farther if you're thinking that humans might be hurt, so let's go to the wilds around here. Perhaps Bamboo Forest?" His face turned into a frown before he dashed to the edge of the city at full power, cutting a trench through the street as he ran at high speed and stopped there.
Once he got there he bent his knees once more and stood up straight again while waiting for Nai-Ran to follow. His power grew as he stood there and he flowed it into his left hand whereupon he created a small grenade to chuck at her with Magic Materialization. In his right hand he charged a ki beam using his Basic Ki technique and snickered as the black ki flowed along his fingertips. It was going to take only a few moments for Nai-Ran to arrive, but she would likely come soon.
"The time to fight is now," he announced to the world, "Snake versus demon who will win?"

”Just because I didn’t bring any with me this evening doesn’t mean I don’t know how to treat them. This was supposed to be nothing more than a simple shopping trip,” Nai-Ran scoffed while crossing her arms over her chest. However, she breathed a small sigh of relief when he agreed to take this fight out of the city. The young woman had been worried that he would want to duke it out right there and then regardless of who got in the way. At least he had some decency to him, though not terribly much.
Oni actually suggested going further that she had originally planned, picking up on her reason for moving their fight in the first place. ”Bamboo Forest? Very well, lead the way,” she replied to his suggestion for their new arena. With that, he took off running. Nai-Ran could probably gather up her things and make a break for it back to the Diablo Desert if she felt the need to, but she had already agreed to continue fighting elsewhere. Once a challenge such as this had been accepted, it would be incredibly disgraceful to flee. Besides, she didn’t want him troubling her later.
Before following him, Nai-Ran quickly retrieved her shopping bags from the alley that she had tossed them into early and shot a quick glance at ‘Fox Girl’. She was still out cold, but didn’t appear to be in any danger. Hopefully she wouldn’t have much more than a massive headache when she woke up. With nothing more to attend to in Satan City, she sped off after Oni to go finish what they had started.
It didn’t take long at all to reach what would be their new battlefield. Oni was already standing at the ready, preparing to launch himself into combat. She once again tossed her bags to the side in order to keep them out of the way of the fight. ”I told you, I am a Ryashi,” she corrected him, not that it mattered right now.
It was time to get serious. The serpentine lass held her forearms several inches away from her chest in a defensive stance as she charged her own bright red ki. Her opponent hadn’t thrown any attacks her way just yet, so she figured she would start things off by tossing a basic ki blast in his direction and watch him like a hawk to see how he was able to react.

"Ah, so you finally made it Nai-Ran Chan," Oni sneered as he glared her down when she arrived and set her bags aside.
"I'm not one to care if you're a Ryashi or not. To me you're a simple snake girl." He stated as she took a simple defensive stance coiling herself around in intricate knots. He wanted to fire at her at this point, but she created and shot a red beam first at him.
The moment it closed in on him he returned fire when it was less then five feet from him and overpowered it by raising his right hand and firing off his black beam of ki. It pushed her attack back in a burst of strengthened energy and swallowed it like a serpent before continuing on towards her whereupon it would explode in front of her if she did not deflect it or move. If this first attack injured her enough he would fling his left arm forward when he got proper confirmation of her damage and toss out the grenade he'd made from his own life force. He was going to have to wait though since he could feel a lot his energy drain from his first attack as it fired it. So far though this battle was not the least bit boring, especially since her prattle allowed him to bait her so easily into bad decisions.

”And you, sir, are nothing more than a petty thug to me,” she shot back with a sly smile. It irritated her that he would address her so familiarly. He was no friend of Nai-Ran’s. She couldn’t let him get to her though. This was no game. The Ryashi got the feeling that he was the type to make good on his threat that he would make sure she could never speak again had he emerged victorious. Whether that meant slicing out her tongue or flat out killing her, she wasn’t inclined to find out.
The young woman watched closely as Oni fired off a blast of pitch black energy, easily swallowing up her own attack with its massive size. Thinking quickly, Nai-Ran shot both arms out in front of her and pulled her tail in close, creating a barrier of bright red ki that completely encased her form. The blast slammed against the barrier at full force, pushing the young woman back several feet but leaving her unscathed.
Nai-Ran dropped her arms, allowing her barrier to dissipate once Oni’s attack had finished. Well, he definitely had some raw power under his sleeves. There was no contesting that. Now, would it be best for her to keep trying to chip away at him with her ki attacks or dive in head on and start exchanging punches? Her gaze was trained on him as she tried to make up her mind, waiting for his next strike.

A barrier enveloped around his foe stopping Oni's blast from damaging her too much, however, it pushed Nai-Ran back allowing Oni more space to throw his next attack out. He tossed his grenade up and down in his left hand three times, catching in his palm each time and said, "I hate to say this, but I ain't no thug. That was what my colleague Niku was before you knocked her out in the city. I am a debonaire killer. I strike fear into people and make them hurt really badly like that wound on your shoulder."
He pointed to where his thrown knife had struck her and could see that the wound was dripping with blood still. By this time Nai-Ran was sure to feel not only the pain from the open wound but a sudden severe necrosis of the nerves as they worked overtime to dull her pain. It was likely if the fight dragged on that her arm was going to end up limp from having to endure prolonged exposure to the elements. He smiled and rather then give her a chance to strike threw out his grenade so that it landed near thickest of her tail's coils where it could remain hidden by her own body's girth before exploding. An explosion that was to take place in three, two, one.
"Boom!"
"Had she survived?" Oni thought as smoke and a flash of black energy blocked his view. Only her next actions would tell this.

”Fear? Please, you haven’t met Instructor Ma-Surin,” Nai-Ran retorted, her eyes focused on the small object he was currently tossing up and down in his hand. ”And even petty thugs can throw sharp things.” Though, he was definitely right about one thing. The knife that had pierced the flesh in her right shoulder had left a rather painful wound. It was getting more and more difficult to move the arm attached to it. The gold trim on her black dress was stained a deep indigo color now that her blood had really gotten pumping, and it was slowly spreading. She didn’t have the option to dress the wound, so she would just have to be careful with it.
Suddenly, Oni had tossed the thing he had been holding her way. Was that a rock? Seriously?! Wasn’t he just trying to argue that he was more than just a thug? Perhaps he was trying to use it as a distraction of some sort, but it’s not like he actually hit her with it. It just seemed like such an incredibly odd tactic...
Nai-Ran turned her attention back to Oni, still confused at what throwing an odd looking rock at her was supposed to do. Much to her shock, it exploded! The Ryashi was sent flying to the right, crashing into several stalks of bamboo as the blast propelled her. Instinctively, she moved her left hand up to protect her open wound. So, it was a bomb of some type then. That had certainly been unexpected. She wouldn’t fall for the same trick twice though.
The serpentine lass hit the ground hard before using her tail to force herself right back up. If this kept up for much longer, she would start having some serious problems with her injured shoulder. The pain would surely end up being the least of her concerns if she kept exerting herself like this without tending to it. Nai-Ran took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Once again she allowed her ki to flow through her, though this time it wasn’t into her arm. She closed her eyes for a moment before snapping them open and firing off another pair of ki beams from her eyes. Oni was their target of course, and they quickly disintegrated any bamboo stalks between the two of them that she hadn’t already slammed into on her way over there.
