The Shadow Assassins were once feared as a terrorist group that killed corrupt individuals of power good and bad. The leader of the organization was a man by the name of Kenzo. Kenzo had two sons, Daku and Hikari. Daku was the eldest son and being born two minutes earlier than his brother Hikari. Their mother passed away a few months after Hikari's birth on an assassination mission gone wrong. Kenzo looked after his children and nurtured them till the age of five. During this time period, both brothers had to prove their fighting skills, along with their knowledge of the world and the organization itself. Kenzo always believed that the mind and your strength should always be equals. Kenzo had a dilemma, he had to pick his next Heir when both of the boys reached the age of ten. During this time, he knew his children very well by memory. Daku was physical strong, arrogant, and wanted power more than anything. Hikari was laid back, and was more knowledgeable than his brother. Kenzo stood in front of both boys on judgement day, and one of the challenges was for both the boys to fight. Daku won the physical challenge with ease, however, Kenzo had other plans in mind. Kenzo chose Hikari to take over the throne and be the next leader. This frustrated Daku, and Daku attempted to assassinate Hikari, this ultimately failed and Daku was thrown in the organization's jail for five years. Normally he would of received the death penalty, but Kenzo gave the final verdict in trial.
Five years had went by, the organization as a whole was growing rapidly by recruitment and also their strategy plan had a lot of their members actually survive their missions. Kenzo was proud of Hikari, and knew that he had chosen the right son. Kenzo would occasionally go see Daku from time to time, and spoke to him briefly about turning over a new leaf, that he could greatly assist the organization and his brother. Daku refused time and time again, until his sentence was finally up. Kenzo had released him from his cell, and his father gave him an ultimatum.
Daku would either come back to the organization and help serve it, or be thrown back in jail for five more years. Daku chose the former, and helped the organization for five years. Going on various dangerous missions, he finally earned his keep and was now trusted by both his father and brother. Daku grew tired of being second best and he challenge Hikari to a fight to claim the title. This was acceptable due to the ten year rule that the title can be claimed every ten years by those who want it. Hikari had beaten Daku, and Daku decided to leave the organization in the cover of night. The next morning Hikari had noticed his brother's disappearance and ordered a bounty hit on him, and knew his brother had left the organization.

The age of twenty for both brothers, and twenty years later Kenzo never thought he would see his two sons fighting for power. Kenzo made the executive decision to go and search Daku on his own to have him reconsider. Kenzo easily tracked him down and after an hour of persuading, Daku agreed to go back. Kenzo had dropped his guard due to the emotional scene that had unfolded. Daku stabbed him straight in the back and pierced through the heart. His father was in utter shock, and his last words were, "I chose the right Heir." This only angered Daku even more, and he sent a message to Hikari. Hikari saw the message loud and clear, Kenzo's head was placed in front of the door step, and Hikari declared war on Daku.
In order for Daku to have an army go up against his brother, he broke a large scale prison and freed them by eliminating the guards. He spoke to all of them and told them that he would grant them millions of dollars if they aided him. The prisoners having witness he had perform all this by himself, didn't see him as a liar and aided him. The prisoners could of escaped, however, not having money to their name, would cause them to start committing crimes. They all agreed to join the man when he stated that his enemy doesn't use guns, and that he would provide weapons for all of them.
Midnight struck, and Daku and his forces charged the base. The battle was indeed intense, and Daku eliminating his brother. The survivors who survived war and had successfully eliminated the Shadow Assassins, wanted their money. Upon searching the entire fortress for Daku, he was nowhere to be found.
Three years had passed, and Daku had found a wife, and had a son who was now three. Living as an average citizen in West Capitol and getting work as a security guard, he came home to both his wife and son tied up. Two gang members that were owed money three years ago, sent him a clear message. The entire apartment was set on fire, and before he could do anything, his own body was covered in fire due to the oil being placed all around his house. Suffering from third degree burns all around his body and being knocked out cold, he was rushed to the hospital and his life was in critical danger. His wife and son were killed by the gang members. Upon waking up after five days later, a demon with a shady robe spoke him. He told him that he could give him back his life as an assassin and go after the people who did this to his family. The price for all that was to agree to give the man his soul. Daku agreed, and the Demon fully restored him to whole, what he couldn't do was getting rid of the permanent burns on his body. Daku felt fully restored and placed his mask and uniform on, he was ready to carry out his revenge.
