“Sir, this is ludicrous! The parties you keep throwing are way outside of the town’s budget!” a man with thick wireframe glasses and a simple grey suit begged as he looked upon Mayor Crumb, esteemed leader of Ginger Town. The mayor’s office was littered with empty bowls and cans of soda, as well as confetti and other party favors. “A-and these delegates that you’ve invited? I couldn’t find them on any government lists?”
“They were foreign delegates… very important people we can’t afford to disappoint,” Mayor Crumb grumbled, waving his hand to shoo assistant Mayor Hamilton away. “Go on, i’ve got paperwork to do,”
“About that sir, it doesn’t seem like any paperwork has gotten done for…”
“Shoo, I’ve got a lot of catching up to do. Hammy, how long have we known each other? Ten, fifteen, twen-”
“We only met last year when I moved here sir,”
“Oh hohum, you know, it seems like we have been together for so much longer. You are like a brother to me Hammy, you look stressed. Why don’t you go ahead and take a vacation, come back next week,”
“B-but sir,”
“No Hammy, I insist. I’ll take care of everything,”
With that, the assistant mayor of Ginger Town turned around and exited the mayor's office, slamming the door behind him. As soon as the man left, the mayor wiped at his brow. With a sudden poof, the guise of the pudgy mayor faded, a fuzzy bear with black and white fur taking his place.
“Yeesh, I thought he would never leave,” Fleece said to himself. He had been hustling Ginger Town for nearly a week, taking advantage of some intel he had gotten about the Mayor going on vacation. He came in and said that he cancelled his vacation on the account of some foreign delegates in. These delegates were some of his pals of course, and they had been using the town’s tax dollars to have a hoot of a time for the past week. But alas, the mayor would be returning in a few days and it would be time for Fleece to make a getaway soon, but not before he made a large withdraw from the town’s treasury.
Meanwhile, outside, Assistant Mayor Hamilton sat outside of the city hall with a frustrated look on his face. Something was wrong with Mayor Crumb, but he didn’t know what to do. Pl suppressed to 1. Open to 2.
