Kale gave a nod as he mentally prepared himself for a fight. A slight power advantage, eh? The Saiyan had never heard of energy manipulation on that scale; to actually reduce one's power in order to train a less experienced person was a technique that Kale himself had yet to learn. Perhaps in the future, but now it was the present. And Kale was going to give it his all in this fight.
Without wsting a moment, Kale rocketed towards Defrosch with the intention of winning this battle. The Arcosian wanted to see what he was made of. Who was the Saiyan to argue? The thought of a good sparring match caused his Saiyan blood to course fiercely through his veins with each heartbeat. With a war cry resounding from his lungs, Kale spun about, launching a heavy swipe with his right shin, aiming to strike at the Arcosian's abdomen.

Defrosch's eyes narrowed on Kale, and deep down the Arcosian was somewhat excited to test another fighter once again. Now, he didn't think of himself as much of the teaching type initially, but perhaps there would be a time to think about pursuing something of that nature... The future might hold something beneficial if he was going to take this path.
However, that was simply something on the horizon, and not something that was immediately on the road in front of him. Right now, Defrosch was going to give Kale the chance to show what he was made of; as a person, regardless of his strength or supposed lack thereof.
The Arcosian took the shin to his stomach with gusto, his feet dug backwards into the ground a fair bit, but he wasn't going to simply let Kale lay into him completely... Defrosch only gave him the first move, and it was Kale that decided his first move was going to be straightforward and simple.
So, in response, Defrosch attempted to grab Kale's leg with both arms and spin-swing the Saiyan into the dirt with a war cry of his own!

Kale's overconfidence would be his ultimate undoing in this scenario. Being a less-experienced fighter than the Arcosian, Kale's eyes widened in shock once Defrosch grabbed a hold of hit. Before the Saiyan had time to react, he was then spun about and slammed hard into the ground. Upon impact, dust billowed from around where Kale was swung into. He winced softly in agony, and gritted his teeth.
The Saiyan leaped to his feet, ready to continue the fight. It was obvious that he was a tad rusty on actual combat. He had to make sure to keep his guard up.
Kale charged forth once more, flying at high speeds as he homes in on Defrosch. Now within arm's length, Kale began to throw a flurry of quick punches, jabs, and kicks in his direction. Instead of giving his opponent a chance to react, Kale figured that he could keep the Arcosian on his toes this time around.

Defrosch's eyes followed Kale intently, the Saiyan was more than willing to continue, and the fact that he wasn't easily disheartened could be seen as a good sign. Having a drive like that should be useful to him in the long run, he'll just have to control it so that he doesn't get over-eager or arrogant like most people tend to do.
The Arcosian decided to go on the defensive for a moment, and as Rafar closed in on him he would strengthen his fighting stance accordingly, aiming to be in a position that is hard to budge, a wide legged stance with his arms crossed in a side cross Z formation, moving only slightly via his shoulders and elbows to block off several incoming punches jabs and kicks. "Ahah~ Very good.." Defrosch chuckled as Kale continued his barrage, getting a feel for his physical fighting style.
It was unrefined and somewhat wild, but not without a fair bit of potential.
Now, it was time for the test to progress, while still using his defensive stance, Defrosch's power would rise with each preceding strike aimed towards him. "Lets see how you do... With a bit of a disadvantage!" Defrosch roared out to Kale before thrusting his arms outwards to his sides, unleashing a simple kiai whilst igniting his aura somewhat.

While Kale was a bit rusty when it came to battle, he was in no way incompetent. The Saiyan protector's eyes allowed him to witness that his sparring partner would soon unleash his own retaliation to the flurry of blows that Kale was previously unleashing unto him. And although Defrosch thrust his arms outwards, Kale was not about to let his guard down.
Without hesitation, Kale threw his arms up in front of his chest and neck in a cross formation in order to block whatever the Arcosian planned to throw at him. Where he expected a physical strike, there was instead a powerful shockwave produced by the air currents around Defrosch. While not necessarily an attack, the kiai technique caused Kale to skid backward in the air while a great force of wind whipped around him. This would cause his hair and clothes to rustle with the almost typhoon-force winds.
The gale subsided, and Kale lowered his arms. Defrosch's words only boosted Kale's drive to prove himself. "A disadvantage, huh? We'll just see about that. Shall we?" This time, Kale got into a defensive stance. He would allow Defrosch to make his next move.

Defrosch would nod, closely analyzing Kale's reaction. He had a fighter's spirit, that's for sure it was as if a fire that ignited behind his eyes, his very spirit in its purity... An ability to stand even against unfavorable odds. A strong will like that was important.
However, there was something just as important as that, which would need to be addressed either now, or one day in the future; one's limitations. Strong will means nothing without the proper mental aptitude and survival skills to back it up. "Indeed, a disadvantage. I believe I didn't stutter."
Intrigued with Kale's sudden shift from offensive to defensive stance, Defrosch chuckled. "You want a demonstration then? I see!" The Arcosian shifted to a low position before kicking off towards Kale in a sudden burst of speed, giving off small kicks to change his trajectory faster, various plumes of dust and grass scattered into the air.
Within mere seconds Defrosch had reached Kale looking fully ready to start wailing on the Saiyan, and with an ominous tone he swiftly spoke. "You got it." Rather than going for an obvious combo attack, Defrosch kicked off the ground, moving backwards away from Kale instead! Defrosch charged some ki towards his hands, throwing them forward he shot off a pair of laser beams!
