[CURRENT PL: 4,500] [HEAVY WEIGHTS ACTIVATED] [THREAD PL:1125]
Egg, after dealing with the fiasco that the creature had caused, spent the night in an alley before waking up and going to the place he got the cape from. He was met by an angry bearded lady, who apparently was freaking out that one of her products had gone missing. Because he was starting to feel guilty about the accidental grab and go he pulled on the day the monster attacked, he would return the cape and say that he found it for her. Filled with glee, the woman would hug the little alien and give him some spending money to spend wherever he pleased.
Feeling a little guilty about this as well, he would explore the city, wondering what to spend the money on. Looking at the small bag of money he received, he bumped into a gigantic human whose towered over EGG and the other people around. This man had a dominating presence over everyone here, and especially more so over the small pink and blue saibaman. The giant man would look down and see EGG, and bend over to look into the little thing's neon green eyes. Staring EGG down for a little while, he would smile and recommended a certain place in this city, since the little bugger was so strong.
Before EGG could respond to him, the man would walk off once more, heading to wherever he was going to. Pondering over it a little, the little plant-based alien would head towards the place he recommend. Only when he was halfway there, EGG would only realize the oddity of what the giant man had said, which related to EGG's strength. Just who was that man who gave him those words!? That is a question that will never be answered.
Turning the story back to the blue and pink saibaman, he traveled to the location and found himself in front of a special story that was small, but held in it a potential that many people would overlook. It was so overlooked that the building's sign was worn out beyond belief, leaving it an unmarked mystery. Wondering what was inside, EGG would enter the building and was greeted by an old, heavy set man who was sitting in a three legged chair behind the counter. Inside the building was many pieces of clothing and accessories that EGG could only imagine. And then he saw something that would forever change his views on what costume he would wear for super hero-ing.
It was a dark blue cape which connected to a pair of shoulder pads, and it even had a green mannequin with antennae wearing it. The store owner watching the saibaman practically drooling at the cape, a smile came upon his face. He got up and picked up the cape and shoulder-pad combo with ease and lowered it down to the saibaman's level, finding that the cape was a bit too wide. Putting the cape back onto the mannequin, he would head into the back of the store after motioning for EGG to wait a minute.
After being patient, he returned with a smaller variant of the cape, perfectly sized for the small sized Saibaman. With happy joy filling his face, EGG would put the cape on, and feel the weight press down on him. This was weighted clothing, something he only saw once when he tried anime that one time. Apparently this weighted clothing was able to boost strength by wearing it, which made this purchase even more exciting to him. Without waiting, the saibaman would give this guy all the money that the woman gave him, which was slightly overpaying him but the man could not speak up, since his voice box was broken.
Wearing his new cape, Egg would walk out of the store, and stand proudly with his hands planted right on his hips. This cape was just the thing he needed to kickstart his hero-ing career...... But first, it would be best just to get used to wearing such a heavy piece of clothing.

Tanis had been going through the city — again, on this day.
This was certainly going to be her last day here before she'd move on to greater things. The previous couple days had been busts and greatly dampened her mood. Between her map being burned out by a bitchy demonic diva, and fighting a huge bug ... Well, she wasn't going to let the little drizzle stop her — even when the downpour REALLY came down Tanis was still out and about. Of course, she'd purchased herself a large umbrella by that point. She spent some time in the thrift shop she happened to be near, picking out the largest, most elegant umbrella she could find. It was black and gleamed underneath the drumming of the rain, matching her coat.
Oh, she felt fancy~!
Tanis went about her day, and a bit after Noon she came to wait outside on the street. With a new map in hand she balanced the umbrella between her shoulder and her cheek, her bright green eyes narrowing down on a piece of map. She was trying to find two nearby landmarks. One seemed to be a fancy dining location, while the other was an ancient trailer diner that was passed down from parents to offspring for generations. It was rumored to have remarkable food — both of the locations!
Tanis stuffed the map back into her jacket, raising her umbrella a bit as she looked about. Her eyes were caught; directly behind her was an amalgam of shapes and colors that Tanis recognized. It was the blue, pink, stylish little hero that saved her ass!
"Heeey!" Tanis called ,waving her hand as she jogged towards him. Her coat flailed to her side, being caught by a sweeping wind that nearly inverted her umbrella "Remember me?" Asked Tanis as she balanced her item expertly and effortlessly; it was second nature to her, just like adjusting one of her blades in battle.

After standing for a while, it would start to realize that it was raining. Jumping a surprise, it would bring his hands above his head in order to keep his clothing from getting even heavier from all of this rain. That was when a voice came out that was directed towards the little plant-based alien. It turned his gaze towards the voice, noticing that the voice belonged to a dark haired woman that held a black umbrella to match her onyx black coat. Focusing a little on her face, the realization on Egg's face would be readily apparent as it beamed a big toothed grin as it would close the distance between them and hug her leg, keeping its face trained on her face.
She would ask if he remembered her, to which the pink and blue alien would nod its head at her, saying in unison with the nods, "Me no forget ally of justice. You and Me fighting monster together... Make us good friends, no matter what." The little alien was just so ecstatic that he met the friendly woman who he saved a while back. In the little being's mind, a good friend of his would be one who would always side with the side of justice. And the way she tried her best to fight the alien, despite how strong she was... She was just like Egg, at least on the inside.
As it continued thinking, Egg would realize something really horrible. It was ashamed of itself that he had not done it yet, as this was something that two people should do whenever they meet. Egg, after giving one last squeeze to the leg, separated and stood inches away from her with his gaze looking up at her, before saying to her, "Me name is EGG. E-. G-. G... EGG! Old Human I live with gave it to me, and Me like it ever since!"
It would move one of its claw-fingers to the spot on its face if it had a nose, and rubbed that digit right under where the facial feature would be. Egg was quite proud of his name and how he came to be with the old man, even though he ceased functioning as a living being. After having a little bit of pride in its own self, he would move the hand that was rubbing his invisible nose and direct it up and toward the woman, hand outstretched. Holding it for a bit, Egg would then ask, "Me feel bad for no asking back then... But name? What your name pretty lady?"

Tanis didn't wait for him to finish speaking. She swooped in, looking up and down as she made sure he was under the umbrella's safeguard. Tanis smiled, looking down at him from behind her expansive bust.
"That's a cute name." She assured him, attempting to guide him off just enough to not obscure the shop's entrance. "I'm Tanis. T-A-N-I-S." She explained, "the name — it was given to me by--." She cut herself off, a little nibble came to the side of her mouth and the smile returned, "Well, that doesn't matter anymore."
Tanis got to her knees so she'd be more on his level — but also to show him something. Her coast pressed against the floor with the sudden decrease in height. The crouching woman reached within her coat and pulled out a folded map, "Say, I'm looking for these two places:" She pointed, "Elégant Resturant de Satan," She pronounced, butchering the eloquence of the 5-star restaurant. Her index finger traced lower on the map, "Or Oldies City Diner" She tapped at the spot.
She looked down at the little one, "IF you can help me find it I'll buy us both a nice meal~!"

Egg would chuckle as the woman would kneel down to her level, getting a closer look at her face and everything, heavily fortifying his little comment on this woman being such a cutie. She would then introduce as Tanis, and even spell her name out in the same fashion that EGG did to his own name. He mentally kept a note of this, as he would more than likely refer back to her in the near future. She would add on a note that it did not matter where her name came from, which was perfectly fine because names don't make a person... Despite being named after a literal thing that comes out of a feathered animal's rear.
Then the woman would then reach into her coat and show Egg a piece of paper which he had trouble recognizing at first. Apparently this woman was trying to find two places on the map, and would treat the saibaman a meal if he could help her find the places. Egg would stare at the map for a couple seconds, bringing his claw-finger to his chin to scratch it a little, trying to figure out where these places were. And then he would realize why this map would look familiar.
He would snatch the map from Tanis, and flip it upside down or, in this case, right side up. He would trace his fingers along the street that the two of them were standing on, figuring out their exact locations. He would look at their spot in the map, and say out loud to her, "Well... If we look for those places... They are... There and there!"
He would then turn around and point to the buildings on the opposites of the weighted clothing building the little cyan and magenta saibaman came out of. Apparently the restaurants Tanis had been searching for was right here, where she had found Egg once more!

Tanis let her free hand press down on the cold, wet pavement of the sidewalk. Her eyes focused on his tracing fingers; Tanis watched how he solved that one out. She hadn't ever been any good with maps. A blush slowly formed over Tanis' face as she realized what was wrong. Once the map was flipped the girl caught her breath; she should be ashamed. A trained mercenary should be expected to be able to navigate terrain, especially if said terrain was as methodically mapped out a city's streets!
Tanis promptly took the map back, a nervous laugh escaping her. "L-let's not talk about that again." Suggested the girl.
"So... where would you like to eat of the two?" Tanis asked, fixing herself up to her normal height. She shook off the soft moisture of her finger. "I'm leaning towards the Diner." She confessed.
"The food is often much homelier."

Egg couldn't help but chuckle at his friend's embarrassment, hoping he was not angering her by the small reaction of his. Everyone made mistakes, and this woman made hers with that upside down map of hers. The only reason why Egg knew it was upside down was because of the N,S,E,W symbol that always should have the North pointing upward. After taking the map back, she would laugh awkwardly and not want to talk about that again. With a fervent nod, Egg would say with a cheery tune in his voice, "No problem Tanis."
Then the woman would give a question to the little plant-based alien, one inquiring of which place that the two of them would go to. She would lean towards the diner, however, as she apparently liked homelier food. Scratching its own chin with its finger-claws, Egg would walk lean towards the diner and say with a smile, "We maybe go there, buuut..."
Then he would lean towards the other restaurant and start to say, "But what food here at Ele-... Elecun... Eleguuunt Resda-... Phooey, me no sable to say it. Let go to Oldies Diner, least I able to say that name."
It would blush a little as it was unable to pronounce the name of the other restaurant, and was utterly humiliated over the fact that he still has hard times saying words that normal people have. Another challenge for this pint-sized hero, he supposed.

Tanis nodded, she didn't want to make a note that there was a possibility the fancier place also wouldn't serve him; it was a reality that she saw NO reason to throw on his face. She understood it well, too. A to of places have refused to serve her based on her mannerisms and — at times — lack of cleanliness. Even though she was battle hardened those rejections always seemed to sting in a way that never dulled.
Her warm hand came to his head at the gave him a quick little rubdown, "Don't worry, I had a lot of trouble with some Earthly words too; you'll get the hang of it! I bet the food there is better anyway!"
Tanis, taking careful look of the street around her, began to walk forward. She was careful to keep the umbrella positioned well enough so that the wind-pushed rain wouldn't hit the little one TOO much.

Egg would nod along with what Tanis said about getting the hang of Earthly words, as the being knew perfectly well about how stupid that the galactic language was at times. I mean, there are three ways to spell there, and they're all different words with their different meanings! There was possibly a way to make up entirely new words without this trouble, but the fact that there are existing words that sound exactly alike, are almost spelled exactly alike, but have completely different meaning... THAT is such flawed logic on the part of whoever came up with the Galactic Language.
Noticing that Tanis started walking, Egg scrambled to keep up with her in order to walk side by side with her. He would reach his hand up and try to grasp her hand, so that they could walk hand in hand towards the diner together. Egg thought that this was how friends interact with one another, by walking while holding hands together, not knowing about the other possibilities that occur during hand holding. Nevertheless, the pink and blue saibaman would stay by Tanis' side as they made the small trek over to the Diner in order to eat whatever food they served there.
Now actually wondering about this, Egg would speak up and ask Tanis, "What do mean by homelier food? What homelier mean?" She did mention such a thing, which was an odd thing for Egg to say. He did not know what homelier meant, and he also did not know what a home was in the first place. It was such an odd thing for her to describe food, but that makes it that much more interesting to Egg in order to figure out the meaning of this word.
Also, not wanting the conversation to die a little too early, Egg would remember what she pulled out in order to try and attack the Monster. It was a weapon that the little plant-based alien did not notice the first time around, which surprised it heavily. Since she was never able to use her attack, Egg was never able to see what she was capable of. Wanting to figure this out without needing a demonstration, Egg would also ask, "So back when we defeat monster, you pull weapon out... Where you learn to fight, and what deal with weapons you own?"

Tanis quickly glanced down at her hand being taken. She didn't mind it at all — she thought it was cute, even. She accepted the clawed hand, keeping her grip light and loose. Homely? He didn't know that one? It was a very broadly-used term on her planet, then again he wasn't from there; it was likely he never heard it before!
"Homely." Tanis noted, "It's when something is simple, maybe a little plain, but really good or comfortable!" She nodded, "In terms of the food I was thinking they would have very common meals, but tasted VERY good due to how long they have been in business. A lot of places like this — I learned in my travels — pass down their most successful recipes with every generation, making for a wonderful menu."
They neared the place further, essentially at its door when she paused at the question. Tanis let go of his hand, turning her side just enough to show her left hip. Strapped tightly to it he would see the elegantly-etched blade's sheath and hilt. She then leaned over him, her torso eclipsing him like a canopy of leaves. A necklace would spring from its tucked place in her bosom, though that wasn't the center of attention. Tanis, reaching over with her free hand, tugged at the very extensive hilt that stuck up from her left shoulder.
"This is the one you saw." She explained, not fully drawing the blade — there was no room within the bastion of the umbrella. "It's a blade — a sword; its name is Chang Dao. It's meant to be a powerful cleaving weapon with plenty of range, but that doesn't sacrifice TOO much mobility or grace in battle."
Tanis straightened herself back up, stuffing the necklace back where it came from. She she let go of the hilt at her shoulder and extended her hand back to the hero.
The swordswoman resumed, "The other one is Han Jian. It's a sword blade used for very close quarters combat. It's primary job is stabbing with a little slashing. It, unlike it's sister, is one easily used in one hand.

Egg would just listen to the wise woman as she spoke about the meaning of homely, learning something new today as well as getting a new, bad ass looking cape. Tanis went so far as to explain that the food that the Diner sold apparently was common, yet the food had been made by them to the point of perfection. That was the message that Egg was getting from the thorough explanation on the place's homely food.
Then Egg's question hit her, which made her separate her hand from Egg's quickly, in order to be in a better position to show her weapons off to the cute little plant-based alien. From start to finish, the little being known as Egg was enthralled by her demonstration. Although Egg would not ever use weapons like those in his life, it was always good etiquette to ask people about themselves. In this case, it was perfectly the case, as she was more than willing to show off her own weapons.
Egg smiled up at her and said out loud, "So cool!" He was interested in how she was basically a martial arts weapon user, pretty much like that really weird shaolin sentai ranger squad. And the best part was that she was a dual weapon kind of fighter, which is pretty good for her. Which begs the question on how she has the weapons and who taught her how to fight.
"Where you lea-" Egg started, before being interupted completely by his growling stomach. Egg did not really need to eat food as often as humans or other humanoid based beings, but he still needed some form of sustenance, and his body was practically shouting out loud to be given something to shove down his food hole. Blushing a little, Egg would suggest after the stomach rumble passed, "Why don't we go in and get food first?"

A few more paces and Tanis' hand would pull from the Saibaman again — should he have once again taken it — press against the cool rain-covered glass of the diner. A soft fog formed around her hand, giving it a light counter. She pushed it open, "Go in." she said, waiting for him to be off the rain before retracting her umbrella. With a few shakes she wrapped up the tool and placed it alongside half a dozen others that seemed to lean on a wall from within a plastic bin.
The place was relatively small and cozy. Warm with a soft lingering smell of strong coffee and harsh browns. Long tables lined up against the wall, overlooking the massive window that gave them a clear view of the street. Closer to the main counter, which spanned most of the rectangular-shaped dinner, were plenty of stools. Tanis moved over to one of the tables far in the back, taking a seat for herself. This was the atmosphere Tanis wished she had been brought up on; it tugged at her heartstrings, summoning a spell of phantom nostalgia for a childhood that didn't belong to her. This was, definitely, one of her favorite spots in the city.
"I love the rain," She commented, "But if it gets any worse..." She mumbled, craning her neck to examine the dancing droplets of rain, bending en mass to the vigor of the whirling wind.
She caught sight of three menus neatly placed between condiments and a napkin dispenser. She pulled one for herself and offered the other to the Saiba. "Check out what you'd like to eat!"

Egg would enter the diner as per commanded, to find that it was half way filled with various people who were talking and eating various things. The scents of cooked food and various drinks wafted throughout the air, with Egg barely able to comprehend it all due to his underdeveloped nostril holes. Deciding to power through the scents, Egg would step aside to let Tanis walk and and shake the water off of the umbrella. Looking a little lost, Egg would follow Tanis closely as she gets a diner booth for both her and Egg.
Egg would have to jump up to get on the seat right next to the giant woman, almost falling out of the chair already due to his heavy cape. It managed to barely stay on the chair by gripping the table and pulling himself upward. Egg would awkwardly chuckle as it had trouble trying to keep itself from falling out of the chair with each sway of his body that he would make every so often, as he still needed to get used to the blue heavy weighted cape.
The woman would comment on the rain, and ended the sentence with her sadness on how she might feel when it gets worse. Egg would nod, commenting on her little quip, "Well... Me no fan of thunder. Ever since I first walk two year ago, I hate thunder. It worst thing in world for me..."
Rubbing the back of its head for the comment, he would notice a piece of paper on the end of the table which held pictures of various food. The tall woman would grab the menu and hand it over to Egg, asking what the little guy wanted. As he skimmed through the menu, he would notice that most of the food he saw was recognized by him, but he did not have any preference towards pretty much any of them. It had flipped the menu around and saw something which made him gasp!
He turned the menu around to make it point at Tanis, and say as it pointed to a picture of a deluxe Egg Sandwich, "Me want this! I had these with old guy used to live with. Although different, these look nearly same! Can I have this?"

Tanis took her eat on the stool, reaching back to help EGG up. She found him surprisingly heavy — no surprise he had a hard time. Tanis nodded. A close eye was kept on the little one while he picked, though eventually it began to wander. The mercenary Tanis examined the expansive collection of booze that lined the bar. She wondered how good the stuff was. She already had Earth brew, but only the cheap kind. And the cheap kind was as bad as the ones back home. Her eyes gazed upwards, checking out the beautiful portraits and pictures. It seems like all it spawned several generations. Truly a homely place.
Then then turned to the saiba as her decided She's lean over, her hair brushing lightly atop his head. "Got it. I think I'll have..." She looked at his menu, despite having her own, "Cheese burger, some fries and mozzarella sticks." She fixed her posture, "What about to drink?" she wondered, "Like soda? Booze?"

As Tanis would suggest drinks to the little pink and blue plant-based alien, Egg would furrow its brow as it tried to figure out what soda and booze was. Well, soda was an easy thing to remember as some videos of the sentai shows had commercials in them, one of the most prominent one was centered around a blue and silver based sentai ranger that only existed in the commercials. With his blue and silver suit, and his blue, silver, and red emblem, Papsiman saved the day using Papsi branded carbonated drinks.
The little being had to wrack his brain in order to figure out what booze was, as the word evaded him. Thinking and thinking even further, Egg shook his head from side to side as the identity of the name of booze continued to elude him. Sighing, he would look up to Tanis, and say with a smile on his face, "Me no know what Booze is, so maybe have soda... Do they have Papsi?"
Egg started swaying his body side to side, in anticipation of eating as it stomach made the embarrassing noise once more. Almost as if on cue, a male zoanthrope waiter wearing a skirt walked up to Egg and Tanis' table, and asked what they would like. Nodding in complete understanding, Egg would show the man the menu and point at the deluxe egg sandwich and say with a gleeful tone, "I want this, and a cup of Papsi Soda if you have! I no know what she want though..."
