Cynthia had made the treacherous climb up about halfway to the top of the peak. Sure, she could have flown up to the top if she wanted to, but that would defeat the purpose of her training. The frigid mountain she now stood on was a life and death climb for the average Earthling, but for her it was little more than a bump in the road on a normal day. Today, however, she had limited herself to only using her arms to climb. She would use no energy for flight and her legs would not support her. She challenged herself to scale the peak with just her hands. Even though the cold was biting at her fingertips, she would not be deterred. Her aura flared around her. A veil of brilliant, neon orange energy thinly coated her body as she climbed. The energy danced and wafted with each motion she made. She didn't expect to meet anyone out here. As far as she knew there was no one else currently attempting to climb the mountain, and she doubted anyone would be foolish enough to live up here. Her stamina wasn't wearing thin just yet, but she did consider finding a small cliff to take a seat on and get a good view of her progress while taking a breather. Several minutes passed and she finally reached such a place. Without hesitation she gripped the ice covered cliffside and slung herself up onto the small cliff. Her legs dangled off the edge as she rolled over and sat upright. Her Aura was so intense that it kept the ice from chilling her bottom. Despite the location and weather, she was dressed casually in some silk shorts and a matching silk sports shirt. Her outfit was black with orange trim and orange stripes down the sides. Cynthia hummed to herself while looking down at the cold highlands down below. Strangely she felt like someone was watching her, even if at a distance. She gave a quick glance around, and even went so far as to use her own energy sensing capabilities to try and seek someone out. Having to constantly exert energy to keep warm made it difficult to focus on sensing. Cynthia just sighed and rolled over again, grabbing onto the cold rocks and ice chunks that covered the mountainside before pulling her way further up the mountainside... Thread PL: 2,936 ; Suppressed Form Active!
Polara was sitting on a rock, meditating as the chilled wind howled around her. The Arcosian has her head down and eyes closed as she meditated, honing her mental abilities. The Arcosian had no need to use her aura to withstand the cold temperatures, as she was trained and had the natural ability to resist cold. The black and white Arcosian blended into the howling wind on the frozen cliffscape, so much so that she was barely discernable despite the small glowing of her navy blue bio-gems. The Arcosian had been up here for a while, and as a result was deeply into meditation. Deep within her mind, she was keeping her senses alert to discern any noise in the landscape as she focused on sharpening her mental abilities. Her ki pooled within her, slowly inching throughout her body to keep herself warm. Noting a stronger energy than her own, Polara slowly turned a small amount of her brain to hone in on Cynthia. Keeping a note on Cynthia's location and ki levels, she returned the rest of her mind to focusing on her ki energy, making it speed up or slow down at mental command. She was thankful for the camoflauge, and continued to meditate despite the strange, howling windstorm around them..

Her climb up the mountainside had gone off without a hitch up until now. The Majin's fingers were wet and slick from the ice and snow melting when she touched them. Her grip couldn't hold forever. A gasp of frustration escaped her lips as both hands slid and she began to fall. She did not summon energy beneath her feet to catch herself. As she fell she rared one arm back as though she was going to punch the mountainside on her way down. With a quick whipping motion of her elbow and shoulder, her soft body allowed her arm to stretch and zoom back up to the side of the mountain where she'd been before. Her fingertips cracked the ice and rock as she jammed them into the mountainside and pulled herself back up to where she'd been before. "D-damn!" She scorned under her breath when she finally got back up to her previous position. She knew she couldn't be overdoing it with her energy usage if she wanted to make it all the way to the peak of the mountain. The wing blowing against her and attempting to shove her off the side of the cliff wasn't helping any, but she'd sort of expected inclement weather to fight against her on her ascent. She held her position and took a moment to catch her breath. She felt eyes on her again, and she gave another slow and careful look around. Could someone really be on the mountainside with her? Who would come up here? More importantly, why would they hide up here? A large overhang prevented her from climbing directly up, and so she started climbing to one side. During this sidetrack her eyes caught glimpse of something, or rather someone, sitting on the ledge above her. The Majin couldn't make out who or what it was, but she hastily used both arms to launch herself up onto that ledge like she had done the previous cliff. She landed on her butt on the overhang a few feet behind the other person. "You've either got ice in your veins or you're as crazy as I am to be up here in this storm. Still, I can't say I'm complaining about meeting someone up here. The climb really gets monotonous without someone to talk to, you know." Cynthia even went so far as to laugh a little. Polara stays silent as she meditated, noticing Cynthia falling down before somehow going back up while maintaining the same ki output. The galestorm of a heavy blizzard continued to rain down upon each of them, although Polara was not affected. The Arcosian hadn't paid any attention to the legends surrounding this mountain, and ignored the mountain seemingly trying to get them to go away. Keeping most of her mind focused on meditation, she kept a small tab on Cynthia. Upon hearing a voice, she noted it came from Cynthia's direction.
Noting the ki rapidly approaching her, Polara opened her eyes and looked at Cynthia. Noticing the small amount of clothing, she shakes her head slightly as Cynthia speaks. Opening an eye to reveal turquoise colored irises, she continued to look over the Majin. "I am an Arcosian. I do not need to worry about cold temperatures." She replied evenly, standing up and looking directly at Cynthia. The blizzard seemed to get worse, making Polara look larger than she was. "Then why did you climb?" The Arcosian asked blankly.

She had only just recently met her first Arcosian, and the little guy didn't mention anything about his species not being adverse to cold conditions. Still, she figured he didn't explain everything there was to know, so for now this was just going to be another learning exercise for her. The Majin took a slow, deep breath. She raised an eyebrow when asked why she climbed the mountain in the first place, "I could ask you the same thing. For me, though, it's just simple training. I could fly over the mountain with little to no issue. So I imposed a challenge on myself to climb using only my arms. No flight, no feet, no external energy."
She figured that explanation might be good enough to sate the Arcosian's curiosity. That didn't stop it from sounding like she really was crazy, though, not that she minded. "I figured the bad weather was just an added challenge. I remember hearing some kind of rumor about the place having a curse or something so that the mountain's weather goes crazy when a female climbs it. But I wouldn't let that stop me." She stated in a triumphant tone. Her eyes turned upward toward the peak. "Would you say we're about halfway up? Maybe a little more than half now that I really take a good look..." Her energy flickered for just a moment as a particularly strong wind pushed her flat on her back. She sighed and sat back up slowly, pushing against the wind. "Man, that's annoying."

Polara stood, watching the Majin with her face guard up. Only her eyes were visible, deep teal against the white and black of her face. She listened to what Cynthia has to say, and her eyes gave no expression away. She's.... insane. Was the only thing Polara thought as she listened to the Majin she believed to be crazy. Hearing the weird rumor about females climbing the mountain, she twitched her tail in curiosity. Figuring that was why the weather was so bad, she chuckled slightly. Of course she couldn't feel it very much, but it apparently was felt strongly by the Majin.
"You're not halfway yet. You have a few miles left before you reach the halfway point. After that, the weather gets worse. I would recommend if you haven't been trained like I have, to turn back now before you get sick from this." Polara was giving a clear warning, pointing out the threat to Cynthia's health as she watched the Majin fall over from the wind, anchoring her own feet into the ground to prevent being blown over as well. "Whatever you say. I think it is rather nice out here."

Not wanting to lose her momentum or let the cold get to her, Cynthia used her arms to turn herself around. "Welp, if I'm not even halfway yet then I've got a lot of ground to make up. I'd have picked up the pace before if I knew I wasn't even halfway. You're welcomed to follow if you like. But I don't want to interrupt you if you were doing something important. I'll be on my way." Her energy flared up and her fingers dug into the ice as she started to pull herself up one arm at a time, cracking the ice and even causing the rock facing to crumble a little bit from the force of her grip. It wasn't quite enough to cause an avalanche, thankfully. The wind continued to bluster and howl on the mountainside, and snow started to come down more heavily.
The Majin, crazy and cold as she was, wasn't deterred. Her ascent continued at a faster pace than before. Her aura burned more brightly as a means to counteract the harsher weather, too. She was sweating and breathing heavier than before from the increased energy output, but now that she'd gotten serious it looked as though she might be able to make it to the top or at least get close. Maybe she was crazy, or maybe she was just determined. Either way, Polara would see first hand just what this Majin was made of!
She got about thirty feet up and looked back down to see if Polara had gone back to meditating or if she was following her in some way. She wiped some sweat from her brow and then continued up the mountainside once again. Her arms were burning already. This training would pay off big time for her endurance and her arm strength! She could feel it already.

Polara watched the Majin turn herself around, and still believed Cynthia to be insane. Watching as Cynthia's energy spiked, Polara looked and watched as Cynthia returned to climbing. Getting a little bit bored, the Arcosian flicked her tail and decided to follow Cynthia. Sinking her hands into the rock face, Polara began to climb easily, using her hands only and tail as a means to steady herself. The winds didn't really bother her any, so her aura wasn't active.
As the winds grew harsher, Polara continued to climb alongside Cynthia, deciding that the climb was a great way to test her strength. The Arcosian kept her face guard up, preventing herself from getting a frosted face. She kept climbing, using her spiked tail as an anchor against the harsh and rather heavy unrelenting winds.
