Having landed on the planet Earth, Polara was already beginning the hunt for her son. Flying around as she looked desperately for Defrosch, she could only hope he was on this strange planet, so she could finally find the lost son she had been looking for, for so long. She hovered higher into the air, looking around for Defrosch and his colors. She stood out, having black, white, and midnight blue on her skin.
Polara didn't care, she wanted to find her son. It had taken so long for her to find her son, this was the last planet she had to look on, before she started checking things even further than this rock. Regardless, she kept looking to find the son she'd missed for 7 years.
[Thread PL: 71,310] [UT] Liquid Ki - Mist Active Ki suppressed to 3000] Clank. "No, this isn't it." Clonk. "Not it either. You'd think it'd be hard to miss..." The 'lost son' that had the elder Arcosian woman so worried was in fact nearby- in a small settlement, sifting through some junk and sorting it out into separate piles. It was unclear why he was doing this, but the locals seemed to appreciate the help. This went on for a while until he felt something was off. Did he just sense a familiar presence?
'... Nahhh, It wouldn't be.'
For once out of potentially any other time he could've chosen, he elected to ignore it...

Polara raised her head, looking towards the clanging, and took off toward the sound, and toward the possibility that her son was there. Hovering in the air, she landed nearby and spotted a single arcosian male. The colors and the body structure were familiar. Wait... She blinked and spoke. "Defrosch... Is that you?" She asked, walking closer slowly with concern and slight hope in her eyes, hoping Defrosch recognized her..
Defrosch continued his work in sorting out the junk-piles, humming a small tune. He wasn't sure why he almost always defaulted to that tune, but something about it was nice. Calming, yet strangely upbeat... For all his good memory, he didn't quite remember why he liked it so much. A little boy from the village came waddling over all properly dressed up like a good lad, they looked quite excited to show Defrosch something! "Hey, umb, mister Defross, were you looking for a- uh- this kind of thingy?" The small boy held up a pointed deep blue stone that was interestingly enough; cold to the touch!
"Oh wow! Nice work Latto! Where'd you find it?" The Arcosian set aside a mangled snow plow chassis to get a closer look as the youngster; Latto Geraldine paused to retrace his steps. "Hurmmm... When me and papa were going past the upper paths this morning to get to North Capitol, I saw a new cave in the mountain, this shiny stone was there- at the entrance, and like, its really cold, colder than regular ice! I remember you came asking for something like that." Defrosch smiled, giving the boy a thumbs up. "Well, its an excellent find, my young explorer! Potentially exactly what I'm looking for too! Could you ask your pops to show me where it is later?" Latto nodded enthusiastically and gave Defrosch a goofy salute as he hastily waddled off back into the village.
"Now back to this.." Defrosch resumed his work, humming that oddly familiar tune until he sensed another Arcosian, shortly thereafter, hearing their voice. In most situations, he would lash out in anger, but this time seemed to be different, the aggression that would normally just fly out of his body wasn't there. To make things more confusing, he was bizarrely aware of that fact and it threw him off balance, he slowly turned to look at the new arrival... He gave the female Arcosian a quizzical look. If anything he was simply curious as to why she caused this phenomenon. "Maybe... Who wants to know?" www.youtube.com/watch?v=saTcbFLUJgM here's the tune, btw.

Polara looked directly at Defrosch, tilting her head slightly. "You... don't recognize me?" She asked sadly. "Its me, Defrosch.. your mother.." She took a step closer, her eyes showing an immense catalyst of emotions jumbled together as a result of finally seeing her son again after nearly 8 years. "I'm so sorry for what your father did to you, Arcose was invaded and I lost everyone, Nor'Poel and Hayll are off somewhere or dead, I believe Sleete is dead, I've finally been able to look for you no matter how hard I've tried." Her voice was a bit sticky, sadness lacing her tone. "Kill me if you want Defrosch... I wouldn't blame you. I never stopped worrying for you ever since I lost you on that day." She sighed, looking down, waiting for her son to simply enact any rage he might feel against her.
Defrosch stood where he was, staring. He had zoned out so unbelievably hard that he didn't hear a single word that was said to him. The world seemingly faded away and all he could focus on was the person in front of him.
He waved his hands over his eyes, and the female Arcosian was still there. He blinked a few times, trying to further process what he was seeing, and they were still there. Nothing made sense to him, why were they so familiar? The only times Defrosch's memory happened to be shady was...
Whenever he entered his true form.
At the very least, he should be able to recall each time he assumed that form. There were only two situations where he did so; when enraged, or... Whenever his mother was able to come and check on how Defrosch and his siblings were progressing. Kais above did he absolutely loathe that tradition, at least his mother made it easier to manage his true form.
That was when it clicked for sure- The familiar ki, the voice, their face, everything!
Defrosch stumbled forward a little, of all the people that were part of his past, he could not have even hoped for someone that he actually cared about to appear. His mother; Polara Thermia.
In seven years, a defiant and sly little runt of an Arcosian had grown into quite the outstanding young man. However, no level of potential 'manliness' would stop him from giving his mother a big hug!

Polara looked at her son, hoping he would recognize her. After all these years, seeing her son was something on its own, and brought relief to her greatly agitated, broken heart. Just knowing he was alive, that he was well. It pleased the mother Arcosian. She looked at Defrosch slightly stumbling forward, her eyes were softened like the last time she had been alone with him. She was proud of her son for growing this strong, and would only hope he grew stronger from there.
Thermia smiled when Defrosch embraced her, and she embrace him back, relieved to have her son back in her arms. Hugging him close to her, a smile crossed the mother's lips. "I tried my best Defrosch, but I'm here now. Isn't that what really matters?" She replied softly. She almost never wanted to let go, but if Defrosch pulled away she would let go of her son.
"At least its you and not someone else." Defrosch shook his head and let go. "But nevermind that, its uhm. Nice to see you again." Though he usually very well versed in displaying his deeper emotions, it was in this situation that Defrosch was somewhat lost. Even though he preferred it, peace was an odd feeling.
Unfortunately it wasn't one that would last for long. The hurried shuffling of a small individual through a snow could be heard. "Waaaah!! Mister Defross- please- you need to help! A bunch of big meanies just showed up near town!" The young Latto had returned, and it seems all was not well!

Polara let go of Defrosch, relieved to just be standing next to him again. "It is nice to simply know you are alive, Defrosch. I never stopped worrying for you.." Her tail flicked to the side, shifting and twitching as she sensed something wrong, turning her head to see what was going on. She heard a small shuffling, frowning as she spoke to Latto. "Take me there, if they need to be dealt with, I'll take care of it." Her voice was blank, laced with a bit of anger at whoever was attacking.
The little boy sniffled as Defrosch knelt down to speak to him. "Latto, this is my mother; Polara Thermia. She will keep you safe. Don't move out of her reach, ok?" The Arcosian spoke to the young lad with a rather suddenly large amount of gentleness. With that, he stood back up and turned his attention towards the town narrowing his eyes and expanding his senses. He sensed a rather vast group of people just beyond the borders of the little village. The villagers had backed up, and only a few able warriors were standing guard.. Something was oddly cold about these invaders. Cold, and worryingly familiar.. "I'll be right back." Defrosch would then bolt right off over the village, landing among its defenders.
Latto waddled closer to the elder Arcosian. "U-uhb, Therma? I-is Defross going to be ok?! I-I want to help too!" In the distance, a large cloud of snow suddenly shot up, sounds like things were about to get ugly.

Polara watched as Defrosch lent down to Latto, tail flicking slightly. She watched as Defrosch took off into the air, knowing he could easily take care of the problem. She looked down at Latto, face guard up as she examined the small kid. "Defrosch will be just fine." She replied, looking as a huge cloud of snow shot into the air, and shakes her head at the recklessness. She kept watch in case someone decided to try anything funny on attacking her and Latto.
Little Latto wobbled anxiously as he heard the blast in the distance, he looked expectantly to Polara, with a determined expression on his face. "We gotta go! We can help!" For something so small, he seemed to have a vastly unprecedented level of determination.
The snow beneath the two would rumble, as a foreign energy drew close. "Wheeere hisss that little brat!?" A strange and gangly lizard Zoanthrope jumped out from below the snow. "Aahhha~! There you are, kid... Now whoss thiss?" With a flick of their tongue, the lizard Zoan flashed a grin. "Now, I jusssst want to talk to thiss child... He hass something we want."
Latto frowned, puffing out his cheeks. "Nuh-uh! I found the stone first! Finders keepers, go away!" The youngster sure was rather defiant, as he stood tall. "Well I'll just use you as ransssom!" With another flick of the tongue, the lizard Zoan brought his arms back, before suddenly extending them towards Polara and Latto. This was quite blatantly telegraphed so Latto could simply duck left to avoid being grabbed, regardless of the lizardman being taken care of, Latto ran back towards the town calling back to Polara. "Hit him in the snout Therma!! Its his weakspot!!"
"EEEHHHH?! THAT LITTLE PUNK, WHY I AUGHTA-"
Another blast would soon be heard in the distance... Given how long it took between the two, it seemed to be a standoff.

Polara looked at Latto with a blank expression to her face, as she sensed a foreign energy getting close she quickly got in a battle stance, with eyes narrowed, glowing slightly. When the lizard Zoanthrope jumped out, she laughed. "Now look who's the humanoid giant lizard?" Her face got serious as her face guard went up, she spoke in a low tone. "The kid is not yours to touch." And with that, she raced right for the Zoan, attempting to uppercut him in the snout while jumping back over his head, landing on her hands and bucking her feet towards the zoan's skull, aiming to either knock him out or severely injure him, whichever really came first.
A bit worried for Defrosch, she tried to end the fight quickly, swerving in front of him and blinking her eyes, sending two beams of energy right for his snout. Should he be knocked out, she would quickly fly after Latto, kicking up snow behind her.
With an arrogant sneer, the reptilian Zoanthrope cackled at Polara. "Well the kid ain't going far sssso I'll jussss- GGHHH-!!" In mere moments his jaw was closed by a fierce uppercut, its as if he didn't expect someone else to be this much stronger than him. His eyes reeled in disbelief. Within whatever nasty pit it was that he could call a 'soul' something was sparked, but soon a lack of consciousness would fall over him as he was embedded into the snow, the laser beams sailed past him and caused snow to fly up and pile over him a little.
Latto was quite speedy when he needed to be. Rather impressive for someone so small... Perhaps he has some untapped potential. The youngster was hiding behind a box near the other entrance to the village, periodically watching the standoff that was happening just outside the gates.
Tensions were high, both the invading group of bandits and the smaller amount of defenders were deathly still, watching each other's movements. Defrosch stood among them rather casually... Did his power rise within just a few minutes?! How could that be, he didn't transform!
Breaking the silence, the young Arcosian guardian spoke with a stern, somewhat threatening tone. "I suggest you don't bite off more than you can chew. Leave now before I force you to."

Polara made sure he was down for the count before taking off into the air for the town. Her navy-blue aura flared around her as she landed on the ground soon enough beside Defrosch. Looking over at the bandits, her tail flicked slightly. She gave them a threatening glare, as if DARING them to come any closer. She listened as Defrosch spoke, and nodded once. "I must warn you, he speaks the truth about things like this. Now leave, or we can choose to do this the hard way and kill you." Her voice was deeper from the mouth guard being up, making her sound a lot more cold and threatening than she was trying to be.
