Current Planet: Earth
History Update: Between the battle with Serra and the events that took place between her and Athren, Kaiyo was left with a mix of intense shock and exhaustion. The Senzu bean she had been tossed may have healed the severe burns on her arms and her broken bones, but it did nothing to ease her mental state. She and her sister had nearly died. She had been forced to kill one of her kin. One of her only friends had disappeared on her. With all of that added onto her already troubled mind, the teenager quickly found herself succumbing to the weight of these events and she fell into a coma.
Anzu moved her to South Capitol, keeping her in a hospital near their parents’ place. Her birthday came and went, along with many catastrophic attacks that shook the Earth into chaos. However, Kaiyo didn’t stir even a single time. It was still questionable if she would ever wake up again. It wasn’t until after just under a year had passed by that the young woman finally opened her eyes. Anzu was overjoyed. However, the first thing that Kaiyo was look at her sister with desperation in her eyes and request that they train together.
The fiery young woman had always hated being tethered to one place, unable to fit in and not feeling stable enough to do anything with herself. The events that led up to her year-long nap had hammered the last nail into that coffin. She wasn’t going to let herself be held back any longer. No more self-doubt. No more living in the past. No more moping. No more self-pity! She was going to work her butt off until she forced her powers into check, and then she was going to get out there and do whatever the hell she wanted to do!
So train her butt is exactly what she did under Anzu’s guidance. After a few months, not only had Kaiyo built up the strength that had waned in her sleep, but she was also showing significant progress in controlling her flames. It wasn’t perfect, but it was to the point that fires weren’t randomly starting around her. Anzu had decided that she was okay to break the seal that bound the two sisters together. Kaiyo was free to set out on her own path. She officially shrugged off the shackles of her past self and began life anew.
