The fire lance was actually an attack that Core had imagined seeing that many creature were using strong armor to protect themselves, so he made an attack shape like a spear with the purpose of burning and piercing through armors, so seeing Beryl getting into a defensive stance made him chuckle a bit. [He has some chance I’m not using an improved version of it… it could have hurt a lot more than he’d though if he plans to block it…] Core would think, a bit amused to think that he would have won right there if Beryl wasn’t suppressing his ki and was actually a serious enemy. The attack would build up in power and then was sent to Beryl with an impulse at the beginning, showing how fast this attack really was since it broke the sound barrier pretty instantly, which was not a good sign for anything that was in front of this attack and hoping to tank it.
Core felt the impact it had on Beryl, he smiled bit, knowing that the human would be perfectly fine when he’ll stand back up from this attack. Core was actually more concerned about the efficiency of the attack, was it enough so that he didn’t have to rework the technique? Beryl would probably comment on it like every time he was using such a thing so Core didn’t had to worry about it at all. When seeing his human mentor step back up, only with minor burns on his skin, Core would smile widely. ‘’ You really are impossible to put down, your will power is truly something worth of a future legend… you’re not even a bit confused about the impact and are already willing to fight more'' Core would remark, making him smile widely, this wasn’t over, and by the end of it, he’ll be a hell lot stronger than before.
Core would look at Beryl in the eyes while he was recovering slightly from the attack, himself barely out of the effect of his terrible punch he had tanked a few minutes ago, then he noticed that it was a little talking pause as Beryl began to ask him question, which made him happy, he liked the part where people were talking mid-spar, it was the part where they really could improve their technique. ‘’ Yeah, it’s a new move I tried to make to counter people with armored skin or people that would never dodge and only tank… it’s called the fire lance! It was a rather weak version of it, I call the stronger version the burning spear!’’ Core would say happily, he didn’t knew why he had the urge to name all of his technique, it just felt right most of the time when he did. ‘’ Yeah… I’ve been training the hardest I can… trying to be as good as I can get before the saiyan attacks… so I’d be helpful and protect my home planet at my best!’’ Core would say in a hopeful and determined voice.

An attack to deal with armored or particularly durable opponents? Beryl could already see its applications. Several species and constructs, such as Androids, Arcosians and Majins, were naturally tough and could eat damage easier than others. With an attack that both burned and pierced, it was much harder to simply defend against it with sheer toughness alone, and Beryl got a taste of it firsthand. If the Fire Lance hurt this much, Beryl didn’t want to think about the pain and damage its more powerful variants were capable of. “That’s pretty smart, Core. I must admit,” Beryl said, patting down his shirt. Although it had a few scorch marks on it, it was still wearable, and it covered him up plenty. “I guess that’s one clear advantage of being able to manipulate ki. You are able to place all different kinds of effects on your techniques. You know – I’ve done extensive research on ki, mostly to figure out everything about it and also why I’m not able to freely use it.” There was a lull of silence. “I still research it, but not as much as before. I’ve moved on to different topics now.” Beryl waved a hand. “Anyways, enough of me running my mouth. Let’s get back to what we’re here for.” Suddenly, Beryl vanished, only to reappear in the middle of the room. He reappeared – only for a split second – before vanishing once more. He appeared at Core’s left side and aimed to catch the Arcosian with a downward hook to the shoulder before following it up with a fierce left uppercut. Then, Beryl spun around before attempting a left elbow strike right for Core’s bio-gemed chest! Core Stold

When Beryl admitted that his technique was smart, Core would smile widely and innocently at him. ‘’ Thank you Beryl, I was actually wondering if it would be any useful for real…thanks for confirming it! I was really worrying about that…’’ The Arcosian would admit, kicking the ground a bit, every time the Arcosian would get a compliment, he didn’t knew how to react clearly, with Phae he’d just cuddle with her, but that wasn’t something he could just do with Beryl, that wouldn’t be right in Core’s mind. ‘’ I’m always wondering If my techniques are really useful… so when you comment about it like this, it helps me a lot!’’ Core would conclude happily on the subject.
Core would listen closely to what Beryl had to say about Ki-manipulating, and how he did a lot of research without finding the way he could finally manipulate the natural energy and use it on his own outside of his body. The child Arcosian was quite sad that his mentor couldn’t manipulate and use ki outside of his body, it was a clear long range disadvantages that he couldn’t help but have, it’s not like he didn’t tried. ‘’ Well Beryl, maybe I could try some things, but I’ve never … tried to help someone with this kind of problem… but it could work… but yeah, we should get back to our spar, we’ve been talking enough for this little pause, let’s get back to it!’’ Core would say in a challenging ton, getting into a defensive position.
Core wasn’t expecting Beryl’s offensive and would eat the first hit right on the mark without even realizing it, the uppercut was also a hit but at least Core had blocked it a bit so it wasn’t that damaging. The hit that followed however was Beryl’s error. When his elbow strike impacted on Core’s bio-gem, it would simply make a pitch sound of echo and Core wouldn’t move. Instantly, the Arcosian would counter-attack and grab Beryl with his left arm to the shoulder and would punch him directly in the face with his right one, if it would work long enough, Core’s tail would slowly warp around his left foot and Core would then spin and release his hold, potentially throwing Beryl away at high speed.

The downward hook was a hit, and the uppercut managed to connect too. However, it wasn’t a clean cut; Core managed to shave off some of the impact by throwing his guard at the last moment. Beryl didn’t pay it much mind; the elbow strike that followed was sure to leave a dent in the Changeling’s chest – figuratively, of course. It didn’t go exactly as planned. Perhaps the bio-gems acted as some kind of pseudo-armor, devoid of any sort of nerve endings. All that Beryl got when he rammed his elbow into Core’s chest gem was a hollow, echoing sound. “?!” Then, Core grabbed Beryl’s arms, effectively rooting him in place. The Arcosian socked Beryl right in the face, temporarily stunning the dark-skinned human. Beryl felt something coiling around his leg – no doubt Core’s tail – and he had a good idea about what was going to come next. So, he prepared himself. Core managed to throw him, and Beryl flew across the room. He was on a crash course straight for the wall, but he managed to spin himself around in mid-air so that his feet were facing the wall rather than his head. He connected with the wall with the force of a meteor, knees bending to absorb the impact. Then, Beryl launched himself forward, barreling straight towards Core. His fists would fly as he aimed to catch Core in a flurry of very, very painful, rapid-fire punches. No matter if his attack hit or not, Beryl attempted a harsh palm strike to Core’s stomach – just hard enough to make them stumble back a few feet. TECHS USED Quick Access [UP2] Beryl quickly engages his target before attempting to pummel them with a series of rapid punches. The twentieth and last punch sends the target flying backwards, that is if it hits. While each individual punch isn't particularly powerful, the sheer number of hits quickly piles on the damage; it's not out of question for victims to literally be beaten into a pulp if they eat all of the hits. Deals 66% of PL in damage. Core Stold

Core would see Beryl’s reaction over his failed attempt at hurting him on his bio-gem and would smirk a bit. Bio-gems were something really interesting, from a material that was in no way creatable by any scientific methods without creating an Arcosian around it, it would lose all nice capacity when removed from a body and would simply be a fancy crystal. But when attached to a living Arcosian, the Bio-gem was something of many mysteries, one of them being clearly experienced by Core. When Phae would caress it, he could feel her gently palm on it, but when fighting, Core wouldn’t feel the aggression on them, that was one nice secret, the Bio-gem was interacting with Core’s brain, changing its propriety to fit the situation, explaining why a crystal could be this ki-sensitive and was actually the channel for Core’s strongest and most destructive attack, which he had never shown to Beryl for good reasons, it would probably break the planet at this point if well used, so no way the gravity chamber was tanking any of it.
Core was quite proud that he had managed to catch Beryl off guard and throw him away with his tail, the usage of this unique member was really something Core needed to dig more, it was a clear advantages he needed to use in other to win fights, and maybe he could practice it with Beryl, since he wasn’t in danger and the goal of spars were to get stronger and learn new things. Core though would once again be interrupted by Beryl’s counter attack, which came so fast he barely had the time to saw it coming. Instantly, the Arcosian was being rained on by quick strikes, slowly opening his guard wide before Beryl’s strong palm would push him backward, a few feet, but stunning Core for a longer moment as he growled a bit. ‘’ N-nice one… didn’t saw that coming…’’ Core would growl between two panting with a challenging glare.
Core would take a moment to regain his breath before staring back at Beryl with a fierce and challenging glare back. Core would then stand back completely and punch his fist together, making them catch fire as he smirked to Beryl. ‘’ My turn!’’ He would say, leaping forward in the blink of an eye, fist forward. But it was a trick; it was actually an after-image Core was using while he would come from above him, trying to punch him down to the ground with his powerful. ‘’ OVER HERE!’’ Core would say a split of a second before the impact.

Although he was expecting it, Core just couldn’t react to the numberless jabs darting right towards him. Beryl’s fists smashed the poor Changeling from top to bottom, pushing Core’s durability to the test. With his combo attack uninterrupted, the Galactic Patrol leader managed to smack Core with a focused palm strike, and it was enough to send the frost demon skidding backwards. Although Beryl’s facial expression didn’t change, he definitely noted Core’s growling and challenging leer. Even with the punishment he had taken recently, Core wasn’t slowing or backing down one bit. The kid was tough; that was for sure. There was a brief lull in the spar. Core used the time to catch his breath. Then, he stood up at his full height and slammed his fists together. Red-hot flame shrouded his hands. Beryl narrowed his eyes in concern. There it was – Core was demonstrating his pyrokinetic skills once more, and Beryl was pretty certain that it wasn’t just for show either. The Arcosian screamed and lurched forward. Beryl didn’t move. Instead, he remained where he was and observed. The longer he stared at the charging Core, the more he was convinced that it wasn’t the legitimate Core, but rather a false image. That sneaky, sneaky Arcosian. Once Core reappeared, Beryl’s head darted upward. Given Core’s determined yell, the Changeling seemed pretty confident that his divisionary tactic worked. However, he was almost successful, almost. Beryl brought up his right forearm to meet Core’s flame-wreathed fist. Blasts of hot air erupted from the collision between fist and forearm. Beryl winced as the flames seared his skin. With a quick motion, he tried to grab Core by the wrist – the Arcosian’s extended one – in order to pull him right into a left-handed straight punch centered right for the chest. If the grab didn’t work, Beryl spun on his heels and attempted a quick, spinning left elbow aimed for Core’s right side. “That hurt.”Core Stold

Core couldn’t believe it that Beryl had actually seen through his illusion and blocked his powerful strike, his punch was reduced to a light impact on Beryl’s forearm, he couldn’t believe it, was he really needing to pull out everything he had to make Beryl react to something? The Arcosian got grabbed on the wrist and took Beryl’s punch right in the chest, but now, Core was getting serious. While in this proximity to Beryl, Core’s body would instantly set fire, his skin would burn out any part of Beryl that was touching him, not leaving marks for feeling like he was holding on hot fire as a normal human. This was a technique of self-defense Core had thought about, it was something that would be useful if he needed to keep an enemy in place, it was literally stunning them through a bad burning feeling, though Core wasn’t really cruel, it wouldn’t leave any mark at all.
Expecting the burn to give him a little advantages for a quick move while Beryl was dealing with his pain, Core would began to punch Beryl straight up in the stomach and chest at high speed, trying to find a weakness in Beryl’s natural defense, there had to be one after all, he wasn’t an immortal. After a few punch however, Core would attempt to jump and kick on Beryl’s chest, pushing himself away quickly and throwing some ki-blast on his way back should Beryl get his mind back quicker than Core though. When the Arcosian landed on the other side of the chamber, he would crack his neck a bit and rubbed his chest. [Ugh… that hurt… I don’t think I’ll be able to keep up much longer… I’m slowing down… Beryl is just too strong and solid… it looks like he can dish out any pain with ease… it’s quite surprising…] Core would think as he panted for a moment before looking at Beryl in the eyes. ‘’ if you don’t mind Beryl… I think we should end this here… I’m sort of getting at the end of my capacity of taking punches in the face…’’ Core would admit with a bit of a laught.

Fire spread from the Arcosian’s fist to his entire body. Core’s flame aura intensified, burning Beryl’s flesh even further. The Galactic Patrol leader grimaced in obvious pain; he could’ve fought through the pain, but his grip weakened far too much for his grapple to be a reality. Hastily, Beryl released the Changeling’s wrist, just in time for Core to unleash a flurry of punches directed towards his chest and stomach. Beryl’s fluid defense managed to keep him safe as he blocked and redirected the incoming punches. However, the burns from earlier started to mess with his concentration, and he was finding it harder and harder to keep up his defense as time went by. One strike – Core’s kick – managed to hit. Beryl grunted in agony as the Arcosian’s foot sank into his chest. He was propelled backwards from the blow, but he managed to keep his footing all the while. Ki blasts converged onto the Galactic Patrol leader. Beryl furrowed his brow, cocked his left fist back and swung forward with a powerful, slicing punch. The single punch was enough to dissipate all of the energy spheres in one sweeping blow. Puffs of smoke were the only thing left after Beryl’s counter and just as he was about to pursue Core, the grey-skinned Arcosian spoke up. The spar was over. Nodding in agreement, Beryl lowered his guard and looked himself over. His clothing was a bit charred, and he had a couple of bruises, light burns and cuts – nothing too severe. “I can agree with you there,” Beryl replied. “I think I’m done getting burned and blasted myself.” He bent over and rested his hands on his knees. “You really kept me on my toes this time. It’s only going to be a matter of time before I can’t hold back at all if I want a chance against you. Whatever you’re doing, keep it up.” Core Stold

Core’s kick would be powerful enough that it actually made Beryl react more than the Arcosian would have thought, but he was not was in no position to take advantages of this weakness and opening he had caused on Beryl so he simply sighted and laughed it off softly. ‘’ It’s now that you show an opening? Now that I’m not able to fight anymore? Damn you and your overly strong body! You are really on another level completely!’’ Core would say in an happy voice, he was amused that someone so strong was actually training him, and even more happy to have him on his side when the Saiyan invasion would come, he was probably their hope, the one person that could make things go their side instead of the enemies side. ‘’ I have the distinct feeling you’re under-estimating yourself though…’’ Core would admit, getting a bit closer to Beryl. When he saw that Beryl understood the spar was over, Core would close the gravity, that was halfway between them and would then walk next to Beryl and pat on his shoulder gently. ‘’ Right! I think we both had our dose of daily pain!’’ Core would say with a laugh before coughing a bit, he was still a bit hurt. Hearing that his mentor was holding so much hope for him, the Arcosian smiled widely and nodded. ‘’ Of course I’ll keep it up! I want to become as strong as you when we will have to defend Earth! Then I’ll be able to really help you during this invasion! And I am glad you hold this much hope in me… it’s… really nice of you.’’ Core would say, giving a quick hug to his mentor, knowing not to make it last too long because of the man’s fear for his species. The Arcosian would then head to the chamber’s door, stretching a bit and sighting. ‘’ See you next time Beryl! I’m looking forward for our next gravity training! I’ll be sure to push my limit and next time we’ll be at least double this gravity!’’ Core would say with an optimistic voice, showing his thumb up to Beryl and with a bright smile before getting out of the chamber and heading to his room for a quick rest, he needed one after this one hell of a sparring session, keeping up with Beryl was quite the hard task, even for an Arcosian as strong as Core; Maybe he could dish out the pain for a while fighting with him, but afterward, Core was sure going to remember that hit he tanked by Beryl’s full powered form. “I have to have something I’m good at,” Beryl replied as Core cursed his unreal physical abilities. Since Beryl sucked at ki manipulation (and would probably forever will), Beryl put all of his time and energy into perfecting his body along with his skill in hand-to-hand combat. Apparently, judging by how powerful he was able to get, it all worked out or perhaps Beryl was just so persistent and trained in the most ridiculous ways possible that even a “failure” like him was able to achieve great bounds of strength. Whatever it was, Beryl was just grateful that he managed to become something of a fighter. Beryl flinched once Core patted him on the shoulder; he still wasn’t okay with physical contact with Arcosians. “I just hope that we don’t have to wait for the SSE to attempt another invasion before they’re stopped.” Personally, Beryl preferred a more proactive approach – one that wouldn’t give the SSE any time to prepare or respond initially at full strength. “But I understand what you’re saying though, Core. Good spar and I’ll see you around.” Once Core left, Beryl remained within the gravity simulation chamber. Even with the injuries he sustained and the shoddy condition of his clothing, he went towards the gravity machine’s computer console, quickly inputted a simple command and waited for the gravity machine to get ready. In no time, the gravity in the room shot up to the machine’s maximum – one hundred and fifty times normal gravity. Beryl couldn’t rest just yet. There was still so much to be done. Core Stold
