The Eastern Lands were treating Beryl nicely and despite the sheer amount of bullshit the galaxy was suffering from lately – like the death of two planets at the hands of a certain, warmongering galactic empire – Beryl had been managing to keep his mental sanity. The Galactic Patrol had received a swath of new, eager recruits, and truthfully – Beryl was surprised that so many people were even interested in the first place. The concept of the Galactic Patrol’s revival was initially a hypothetical situation, a “what-if” sort of deal that didn’t have much devotion behind it. It was amazing how it managed to evolve from that to an organization that people respected. At first, Beryl believed that many considered him to be a joke – someone who wasn’t qualified in the least bit to lead the equivalent of the space police. However, considering the amount of information numerous organizations delivered to him regarding both Arcose’s and Kanassa’s demises, people were truly counting on him to restore peace and order to a chaotic, despotic galaxy. And he would do his best to fulfill their wishes. Currently, Beryl was visiting Orrin Temple. The monks that called the sacred place their home requested for Beryl to come and give martial arts lessons as well as advice on how to achieve spiritual enlightenment – one of the greatest goals for any resident monk. The martial arts lessons went very well so far, and as a means to pass the time, Beryl wandered about the temple, admiring the architecture and the temple’s peaceful, zen-like setting. He kept his communications line open on his phone in case anyone needed to get in contact with him, but he couldn’t help but admit that it was nice to not have to worry about responsibilities for the time being. However, knowing his luck, something was bound to happen sooner or later. So, he enjoyed the peace while he could. PL -- 206,899; Spiritual Insight (x16P) - 3,310,384Daika

Daika had heard of the existence of a special temple within Satan City, and he had long wished to see it for himself. Now, he finally had the chance.
The Orin Temple was an old temple, home to a sect of warrior-monks that look after and ensure the temple is in a good condition. It was well over 2000 years’ old, much to Daika’s surprise. Now, he stood outside of its main building, and he was very impressed. It was rather well designed, much to the Saiyans delight. It was rare to find a Saiyan that actually cared about the finer things in life, and Daika was one of these rare few. Truly a rather magnificent building. I hope that they train good warriors inside. Perhaps one day I will be able to see what it is like inside. He was still wearing his Blutz Bans, as he was outside and didn’t want to cause a fuss with the law. He was about to head off, as he doubted he would be able to get inside, but then he sensed an absolutely monstrous power level of over 3 million.
Wh…WHAT?! Not even Celmaru was that strong! Th…That’s impossible! He began to tremble in fear, but he quickly reassured himself. If the owner of that Power Level was here to do something bad, he would have done so already! Perhaps… I should investigate! Turning back to face the building, he swallowed his fears as he began to walk towards the front entrance. After all, this couldn’t go wrong. Could it?

As soon as Daika approached the entrance to the peaceful temple, its large, heavy front doors opened. Beryl strolled out into the open, but his stride was quickly broken once he heard into the hulk of a Saiyan. The dark-skinned human nearly bounced off of the albino, and he quickly looked up at the Saiyan through the lenses of his designer, dapper shades. “Oh! I’m sorry,” Beryl quickly apologized, now getting a good look at who the white stranger was. Judging from the snow-colored tail wrapped about his waist, the traditional Saiyajin armor, along with the trademark wild, spiky hair, Beryl could safely say that Daika was a Saiyan. Plus, if the warrior’s physical appearance wasn’t confirmation enough, he did notice that Daika was wearing those Blutz Bans shades that Earth’s government was distributing to all of the Saiyans or hybrid Saiyans who lived on Earth. With the full moon out in full force, the last thing the blue planet needed was for a bunch of thirty foot tall apes rampaging all over the place. No one needed to relive the days of the SSE invasion. “Are you here to see the monks? If so – they are in the courtyard right now. Oh, unless you’re here for the martial arts lessons.” The power Daika was radiating was respectable; he wasn’t an “average” Saiyan, probably a bit higher than that if Beryl had to wager an estimate. Was he a Super Saiyan? Probably not, but that didn’t mean that it wouldn’t be unattainable for him. “If that’s the case, I’m almost done with my break. Then, I’ll start back up again once I’m finished.” The human was decked out in stylish, semi-professional wear: a collared t-shirt, a teal tie, black pants, black casual shoes and a yellow beanie. The most eye-catching article of clothing would be the golden, crown-decorated Galactic Patrol pinned to his shirt. Since Beryl was nearly a whole foot shorter (eleven inches to be exact) than Daika, he had to crane his head backwards in order to look the Saiyan in the eyes. “… Nice shades,” he commented, referring to the albino’s Blutz Bans glasses. When Daika approached the entrance to the great temple, he was surprised to sense the massive Ki signature coming towards him. The doors suddenly swung open, and a short young man walked through them, only to smack straight into the massive Saiyans chest. Looking down, he studied this person who just walked into him. He was wearing simple clothes that a normal human civilian might wear, instead of some kind of battle uniform a great warrior would wear. However, one thing that the stranger wore would catch his eye the most. A small golden badge, bearing the symbol of the Galactic Patrol, pinned on his shirt. So, this is the “Beryl” that young Arcosian talked about. Core, the Arcosian in question had said that Beryl was extremely strong. At first, he did not believe the changeling, but now that he had met Beryl in person, he wondered how the heck these kinds of people managed to get so strong. The human began to speak about martial arts lessons, but the Saiyan had no interest in such things. “I’m afraid I am not here for the martial arts lessons, sir. I only came to observe the architecture of the temple, as I have been told it is quite respectable.” He spoke in a polite tone. “May I ask… are you Beryl, the leader of the Galactic Patrol?” the tall Warrior asked, gesturing towards the Human’s badge. Daika was excited to finally meet this great warrior. Hopefully, he can train me to become much stronger!
“Why thank you, I picked these up a few days ago.” He cheerfully replied, placing one of his hands near his ear. “We don’t have anything like these “Blutz Bans” back on Planet Vegeta. Instead, they merely kick the Saiyan who thought it was wise to transform into an Oozaru outside of the city until the full moon ends.”

The Saiyan appeared friendly enough; Beryl’s luck with Saiyans varied wildly, but almost every time he encountered one, they wanted to spar with him. Beryl was honestly taken off guard once the red-eyed warrior asked if he was the leader of the Galactic Patrol. Eyebrows raised, the dark-skinned human blinked from behind his sunglasses. “I’ve been to Planet Vegeta before. It was a lot different here on Earth, but it was a good experience for me, even though people always wanted to fight me for whatever reason. Plus, I’ve managed to see some Oozaru rampages firsthand. It wasn’t … fun,” Beryl stated, glancing off to the side. “I felt really, really short while I stayed there though; it was like everyone was a giant.”Beryl then looked up at Daika. “But I guess that hasn’t ever really changed anywhere.” He shrugged his shoulders. “But yes – I’m Beryl Roarke. I’m the leader of the newly revived Galactic Patrol.” There was an awkward pause for a second or two. “Well – the Galactic Patrol has been defunct for years. Recently, it has been brought back to life by a galactic collective effort. They needed someone who was willing to volunteer as the leader of it. I put my name in, and I guess people have enough trust in me that I won’t mess this whole thing up.” Sighing, Beryl rubbed the back of his neck; afterwards, the same hand moved to adjust his teal tie. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to start ranting like that. Either way, if you want to explore the rest of the temple, please don’t let me hold you up. The monks can help you with whatever you need, so don’t be afraid to approach them.”With that said, Beryl moved out of the white-haired Saiyan’s way – still a bit embarrassed about accidentally running into him before. “Sorry about bumping into you before.”Daika

Daika listened as the Human spoke of his own travels on Planet Vegeta. He told him that he had a good time, apart from all of the people who tried to fight him. I’m sure that turned out well. He next spoke about the Oozaru, and that he had seen them on a rampage before. The Albino warrior himself was not the greatest fan of the form either, however he recognize the edge in combat such a transformation can give its user.
Daika grinned as the man told him he was indeed the leader of the Galactic Patrol. During his many library trips, he had learnt all he could about many different subjects, the GP being one of them. The information Beryl spoke of matched with the information in the books the Saiyan had read, how the organisation had been disbanded and forgotten for a long period of time before being revived, most likely by this “Beryl” and some other strong warriors. He could see why the fellow members of the Patrol would have voted for Beryl to become the group’s leader. He was strong, far stronger than any individual the Saiyan had ever met before.
As he tried to apologize for bumping into the Albino, Daika merely shook his head. “Its fine. I’ve read a lot about your organisation, Mr Beryl, and I was wondering…” The Saiyan started, he was nervous yet excited at what the Human might say to this question. “…Are you, by any chance, accepting new recruits?”

New recruits? The question caught Beryl off guard. Ever since the Galactic Patrol was revived, he only had one pure Saiyan officially join the organization: Datura. The fact that another wanted to join certainly surprised him, since Beryl was under the impression that most Saiyans, especially the traditional ones, were not interested in laws, morality and any of that other “flowery” stuff. They wanted to get stronger at any costs; if they had to murder swaths of challengers and creatures in order to achieve ultimate power, then so be it. The thing was that Beryl wasn’t getting that sort of vibe from Daika, and that was reassuring to say the least. “Oh. Um. Yes – the GP is still accepting recruits,” Beryl answered, adjusting his designer sunglasses. He peered up at the much taller male through a pair of dark lenses. “Why? Are you interested in joining?” Beryl figured that was the reason why Daika even bothered asking. “Well – the Galactic Patrol is very selective when it comes to new recruits. Unlike the police or military forces on many other planets, we don’t have a particularly high agent count. If anything, the most Galactic Patrol agents allowed at one time is somewhere in the thirties. From that, you can tell that we really don’t accept too many people but for good reason. After all, the Galactic Patrol has authority in every part of the galaxy.” There was a pause. “Or well – it used to. We’re trying to reestablish that now. The thing is people won’t take us seriously unless we really show them that we know what we’re doing and that we really care about the safety of the galaxy as a whole.”With that bit explained, Beryl looked the armored Saiyan over, arms crossed. “So, Daika. Can you tell me why you want to join the Galactic Patrol? What are your motives behind it and what do you hope to accomplish as a Galactic Patrol officer? Please be as descriptive as possible and tell me everything; it’ll help me gauge if you’re a good fit for the organization, plus it’ll help me determine what I can do to help you if that’s the case.”Daika

The Saiyans eyes lit up as Beryl said that the GP was still accepting recruits. This… this is my chance! The human next asked him why he wanted to join, but before he managed to answer the leader of the GP continued to talk more about the GP itself. He spoke of how high the Galactic Patrol tried to keep a low member count due to the fact its members had power over many different parts of the galaxy. The Albino understood his point of view, however having more members is never a bad thing, even if they were some kind of reserve corps. The human then repeated his question, asking Daika why he wanted to join the Galactic Patrol in the first place. He coughed as he was about to start speaking his case. “Well, sir. I wish to join the Galactic Patrol, partly in an attempt to show the Saiyans in a more… positive light. Many people are afraid of us Saiyans, and think us to be bloodthirsty warriors only craving death and destruction across the cosmos. This however, is not entirely true. Not all Saiyans crave such dark deeds. I, am one of those. As an officer of the Patrol, I wish to help people who have suffered greatly at the hands of my war-like brethren, so that they may recover from the wounds they have caused. There is another reason, which I don’t particularly want to share… its more of a private thing, if you catch my meaning.”
As he finished his speech, he hoped that he had explained things well enough so that Beryl would accept him into the Patrol. He stood nearby and eagerly awaited the human’s response. Beryl Roarke

Daika’s response seemed genuine enough. It wasn’t unheard of for a Saiyan to admonish the Solar Saiyan Empire’s genocidal, tyrannical viewpoints and actions. Even during his visit on Planet Vegeta, Beryl encountered several Saiyans who showed discontent towards the empire’s sudden, radical shift. The Saiyan race had always been fighters and warriors, but there was a distinct difference between seeking the thrill of battle and needless destruction. Once Daika finished speaking, Beryl pondered silently for a moment – his facial expression somewhat masked by the pair of shades on his face. Eventually, he spoke up. “Hmm. Well, you have your heart in the right place. It’s true that not all Saiyans are bloodthirsty, savage monsters; however, with the Solar Saiyan Empire’s rise, many people are finding that fact harder and harder to believe,” Beryl stated, sighing slightly. “And unfortunately, I don’t think this view is going to go away any time soon. The SSE’s invasion of Earth is still fresh on people’s minds; with all of the damage and havoc that the SSE has caused, it’s going to take a long time for a lot of people to even consider Saiyans as anything else but monsters.”The dark-skinned human tilted his head up to look the much taller male in the eyes. “However, you have what it takes to help reshape people’s views – to show them that Saiyans aren’t defined by mindless savagery. You may just be a good fit for the Galactic Patrol but first—“ There was an ominous pause. “I must first see how well you can handle yourself in a fight. You already look like you’re plenty combat capable, and I’m not just saying that just because you’re twice my size and a Saiyan.” Beryl then pivoted and began to walk down the temple’s steps until he reached the foot of the stairs. Around the temple was plenty of open room for the two to spar. “But I just want to get a good feel of your combat abilities. I want you to use your full strength; don’t hold back, alright?” Eventually, Beryl stopped walking and turned to face the white-haired Saiyan. “If you’re okay with this, go ahead and make the first move whenever you’re ready.”Daika
