Daika walked through the streets of the human city, trying to attract as little attention as possible. So far, he wasn’t having much luck. But that is what happens when you’re a 6-foot, 5-inch-tall giant Saiyan warrior with a massive head of white hair walking down the street in one of Earth’s largest cities. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see many people stop and watch him as he strolled along. Some turning around and running in the opposite direction in fear, others just standing there, with their mouths wide open.
Don’t these people have anything else to do? Anything at all? This is starting to get creepy… Whilst others would have come to Satan City for pleasure or business, Daika was here to find out about this planet he had crashed on. Sure his data banks back on board his pod knew a few things, but it was not updated regularly with the most recent information. He was currently trying to find some kind of knowledge-bank or area where one might be able to learn about things. As he rounded a street corner, he came across a map of the next few city blocks.
“Hmm, so this is where I am now. There should be some kind of library or something…” His eyes scanned over the map, before resting on a single small location just a block away. Aha! There it is. His lust for knowledge revitalized, the Saiyan quickly turned and continued on wards, trying his absolute hardest to ignore all the people who continued to stare at him.
A few minutes later, the tall Saiyan male had arrived. So, this is what these earthlings call a “Library”. Daika was somewhat disappointed at the fact that the building itself was tiny and old, unlike most of the other structures in the city. Well, I have not come this far to just be disappointed, he thought as he walked towards the entrance. Being careful not to exert his full strength on the door, he slowly curled his fingers around the door handle, before pulling it open. Moving carefully, he slipped past the door before letting it shut behind him. Now inside, he turned around to see the inside of the library.
And he was not disappointed.
Shelves upon shelves of books filled Daika’s vision, and he couldn’t help but gasp at the sheer number of them. “Wow. I wonder how many forests needed to be cut down to create all of these.” There were few other people in the library, but as he entered, they all turned to look at him. A couple of them ran away, probably heading for some kind of back-door. An old woman to his left simply screamed.
“What the heck is a Saiyan doing here?”
“I didn’t know those brutes could read.” Oh, now that is just uncalled for.
“Surprisingly enough, we can.” He said, turning to look at the person who dared to insult him and his race. His eyes locked with those of a young teenage, who was shaking so much that Daika could only just keep his laughter contained. Smirking, he crossed his arms and growled at the young teen. “Shoo.” Overcome with fear, the teenager suddenly bolted past the Warrior and out the front door.
Now that he is taken care of, I can begin my search. He lumbered towards the history section, the rest of the libraries inhabitants forming a crowd behind him a few meters back. Scanning the shelves, he grabbed several historical atlases and other official-looking works, before sitting down on the floor and opening up the first of the thick texts. “Well. This is going to take a while.”
