The whole universe seemed to be going to hell. The Saiyan Solar Empire was up to its usual war-mongering ways; there had been news of an unidentified attacker attempting to blow up planet Vegeta, and now Beryl recently found out that Namek had suffered extreme casualties from a recent confrontation concerning the Dragonballs. Beryl wished that he could've done something about any of the recent happenings, but ultimately — he couldn't. The Galactic Patrol was still a small force, and the newest recruits wouldn't be able to stand a chance against the galaxy's most potent and dangerous threats. That duty rested on Beryl's shoulders; however, even he was starting to doubt his own abilities. "I should really use the gravity chamber again," the Galactic Patrol leader mumbled. It had been a while since Beryl trained under the influence of heavy gravity. He was already able to withstand the maximum amount — one hundred fifty times normal gravity — and the few times he did train under it allowed him to make tremendous jumps in strength and speed. It definitely helped refine his physical capabilities — which was the one of the only things, along with his mind and willpower, that allowed him to contend with all of the more, ki-talented fighters out in the galaxy. Currently, Beryl was on the outskirts of East Capitol, back from a quick meeting with local authorities about the Capitol's condition. He dialed a number — the number to his ship — on his cellphone. Core, a young Arcosian, was staying with him, and Beryl wanted to make sure that the Changeling hadn't wrecked his entire ship. "Hopefully I won't be arriving to a mess," Beryl mumbled as he waited for Core to pick up. The dark-skinned human's power level was unsuppressed, measuring well over two million. To any ki-sensitive individuals, his power would be extremely obvious to detect — the ki equivalent of blaring airhorns and flashy neon lights. Surely, someone would come by to investigate. [ Thread PL: 63,834] [ UT] Liquid Ki - Mist Active! Ki suppressed to 10000]
At the same time, the universe has its way of being kind even in its hellish moments. While on the Timeless Lookout a while ago an Arcosian known as Defrosch had come across a book that had mentioned a strange form of 'Unmelting Ice'. Part of a map to this mystical artifact was said to be in a cave underneath the Eastern lands. To this end, he flew his way into the East Capitol seeking out information on this rumor. From what he knew so far, there was a local family that should have information on how to retrieve the map piece. 'Right... Now lets see.. Ah! I can sense someone! Quite strong too. They'd be relatively even with Liang!' Defrosch landed gently near this powerhouse of a human. "Ehm, excuse me? Would you perhaps know where I could find the Eisecrein family's café?" Now little did Defrosch know, this human has had... Rather rough experiences with Arcosians in the past. So much for the universe being kind... Beryl Roarke , its short, but I think its funny. Enjoy!

Once Defrosch got closer, he’d be able to see the human more closely. He had on an oversized yellow beanie, one that covered almost his entire entire forehead down to his eyebrows. He also wore a green, long sleeved collared shirt with a matching black tie, black slacks held up with a leather belt, along with black casual shoes. Initially, Beryl didn’t notice Defrosch’s arrival; the Arcosian’s power level was suppressed to a level where Beryl just brushed it off. It wasn’t enough for alarms to go off. However, when Defrosch spoke, Beryl paused. He looked over his shoulder, phone still pressed to his ear. There was an Arcosian right there. Now, that wouldn’t have been as bad if it weren’t for the fact that Defrosch was as tall as Beryl himself – in his Suppressed form of all things! Beryl was used to Arcosians being midgets, and this one here was a damn giant compared to the rest of his bretheren. So, what did Beryl do? He hollered. Jumping, his fancy phone went flying straight up into the air, turning several flips before suddenly landing up on the ground. Almost in reflex, Beryl brought up his fists in a standard boxing stance; it took him half a second to realize that Defrosch wasn’t trying to attack or eat him, but rather asking directions about some kind of café. Breathing in heavily, Beryl rested a hand over his chest. “… You scared me,” he murmured, shaking his head. It was then that Defrosch would be able to get a good look at the interesting looking badge pinned to Beryl’s left side of Beryl’s shirt. It was an ornate, golden badge, lustrous and masterfully crafted. It was in the shape of the Galactic Patrol’s emblem, and there was a crown above the symbol itself studded with expensive gemstones. “… The Eisecrein’s family café? I don’t know where that is,” Beryl breathed, shaking his head. “… What are you doing out here anyways?” His eyes narrowed suspiciously; if this Arcosian was looking for a café, wouldn’t it make sense to be looking in the actual city rather than the city outskirts? “I suppose with the recent events concerning Arcose, there have been a lot of Arcosian refugees here.” There was a pause. “… But you don’t seem like a refugee.” Beryl’s eyes narrowed further. To say that Defrosch was surprised at the human's reaction would be an understatement. Sure, he knew of the general reputation that Arcosians had, but how could someone this strong get so easily spooked? It didn't make a lick of sense. Defrosch tilted his head, somewhat concerned with the human panicking wildly in front of him. "... Are you done? Alright cool. My bad for scaring you... I... Guess? I'm honestly not sure why you panicked considering how strong you are- but whatever- to each their own, yeah?" The Arcosian sighed, apparently the human didn't know where the café was. "Thanks anyway. By the way, you dropped your phone." Defrosch gestured towards the fallen phone. Hopefully it was one of those 'Nokias' or something.
"... I'm looking for the Eiscrein Family Café, duh? Isn't that obvious?" Defrosch leaned his head backwards in confusion. 'Just how hard did I manage to scare this guy? Yeesh.'
Unfortunately, his human just had to press the Arcose Button of all things. In the blink of an eye, Defrosch's casual expression soured, his brow furrowed as he glared daggers through the human, but obviously not because of the human. "Arcose is irrelevant. I abandoned that hellhole years ago. The empire got what it deserved. Leave it at that."

While it made Beryl’s fear made no sense to Defrosch, it was totally logical to Beryl himself. If Arcosians weren’t terrifying enough, now they could apparently be as tall as humans in their suppressed forms! Granted, Beryl wasn’t very tall, but it still unnerved that Defrosch was basically the same height as he was at five feet six inches tall. Like almost all Arcosians, Defrosch had a bit of an attitude. It was enough to make Beryl lower his eyelids. Yes, Arcosians spooked him, but it wasn’t enough for him to be able to put up with their general arrogant, snarky, egotistical ways. Unfortunately for Beryl, he just had to trigger Defrosch. In an instant, the stranger went from laidback and casual to heated and salty. His eyes narrowed, blue irises burning metaphorical holes into Beryl’s skull. According to Defrosch, Arcose got exactly what it deserved. It was nothing but a hellhole, a cesspool for the scum of the universe. The reaction baffled Beryl briefly; after all, Defrosch was an Arcosian himself. What caused him to have so much contempt for his own people’s empire? “Saying that all of the people on Arcose deserved to die is kind of a bit … much.” Despite Defrosch’s demand, Beryl went on to give his opinion about the Arcose situation. “I can’t say that I’m the biggest fan of the Arcose Empire, but their entire planet was destroyed by a life-draining tree. It’s just—“ Beryl shook his head, a clear frown on his face. “At least the survivors have plenty of safe places to stay now.” In a quick movement, Beryl reached down and picked up his dropped phone. Stylish shades shielded his dark-brown eyes from the bright, afternoon sun. “What do you have against Arcose exactly?” There was a pause. “You are an Arcosian after all.”Defrosch

With a sharp exhale, Defrosch simply tried to walk away. Getting this mad for no reason is not good for ones health and of course this human didn't deserve the full brunt of salty rage that Defrosch kept within him. The human didn't have all the context after all!
...
It was a damn shame that they had to actually ask for it.
The Arcosian froze in his tracks, with the pavement splintering from under him as a sudden surge of energy rushed out of him, only momentarily was his ki un-suppressed, and it didn't raise too high when he caught himself going overboard. "Of course they didn't. Did you hear me say people? If you did, there's something in your ears; because what I said was empire. The empire deserved to fall. Its loyalists got what they had coming to them. Is it a shame that whatever innocent beings that happened to be on Arcose likely died for nothing? Yes, but..." Defrosch swiveled around, once again glaring a hole through his soul with far more ferocity this time. "If you don't listen to someone when they tell you to drop a sensitive topic, if you would dare to insinuate that simply because I am an Arcosian..." Clouds slowly wafted over the sun, casting a shadow on the area as Defrosch walked over to the human. "... that I should care about a planet and government that gave me nothing but suffering for a majority of my life because I had a different mindset..." The Arcosian stood tall, his gaze unwavering, without a care for the difference in power; this was all about a difference in social decency and he had to make sure this Earthling knew. "Then you are no better than them."
Though, emotions of this magnitude generally make things go too far.
Ki un-suppressed for a moment, landing at 30000, then brought back down to 10000 just as quickly.

This Arcosian was scary as fuck. At least that’s what Beryl thought. The frost demon’s soul-burning stare tore a hole through Beryl’s exterior and drilled into his very physique. He hated the eye contact – staring into the icy, cold abysses that were Defrosch’s frosty blue hues. Defrosch’s ki flaring didn’t help with Beryl’s composure. The dark-skinned human noticed the cracks in pavement and how for a split second, the air became thick with the Changeling’s energy. He knew very well that an Arcosian’s suppressed form masked a large majority of an Arcosian’s power; what Defrosch displayed was just a small taste of what he was truly capable of. “Although it’s sad that you had to suffer just because you thought differently, that empire's loyalists, no matter how bad they really were, did not deserve to have the life sucked out of them by a life-stealing tree,” Beryl responded, still staring at Defrosch. Despite the tenseness of the situation, Beryl’s stance was relaxed. His hands were in his pockets; his posture was lax, and his shoulders sloped downward. “There could’ve been another way to solve the Arcosian Empire’s issues; in fact, I’m working on discovering that right now. It can still be repaired, and it can be made better than it was before. I feel that’s what everyone who died defending it would want me to do.” Beryl’s fancy, Galactic Patrol badge was still pinned to his shirt, though its luster was robbed due to the sudden clouds blocking the sun overhead. “I wouldn’t be doing my job if I just turned a blind eye to Arcose’s death. I apologize if you had bad experiences with the Empire before. I’ll admit: I’ve had plenty of bad experiences with Arcosians in the past, but I won’t let that stop me from offering help to those who need it.”For a moment, Beryl broke eye contact and glanced off to the side. There was no one around except them, and noting Defrosch’s hostility, Beryl had a feeling that this situation wouldn’t be defused any time soon, especially with what he just said. “Don’t let me keep you from finding that café,” the Galactic Patrol leader stated, tone neutral. "Can't expect you to know anything about the Arcosian Empire anyway. If thats what you think; fine. But, know this; you cannot yet fathom the horrid deeds that the AE committed. To be among its younglings- its children- and know what was happening was wrong without the ability to do anything about it? That... That tree was karma in action against the rot and corruption of the AE." Taking a deep breath, Defrosch saw little reason to get truly angry at this human. What point was there in getting mad at someone for not knowing something? "Like I said though, the few innocent lives there? The best I could hope for them is that they were smart and escaped."
The Arcosian grumbled, aura swirling into existence only slightly. "Yeah. There could've been a way. Too little too late." It was clear enough that Defrosch was simply furious about thinking back. If he was born earlier, and born much stronger, he could've completely changed it all from the inside. Only getting more irate that he couldn't have, Defrosch's aura flowed forward. "That only makes everything worse. So much potential... Just destroyed itself with its own actions." He looked upwards, somewhere out there, Vegeta was under an effectively identical curse. The SSE was much the same as the AE. Violent, cruel, inconsiderate... So many things that Defrosch hated immensely.
Interestingly enough, the human mentioned he too had bad experiences with the more typical brand of Arcosians- likely AE loyalists- at least these two could come to common ground on something. "At least you've got your heart in the right place; can't fault you for that, but... Try being a bit more strict and up-front with who you help when you do. See, what if they can't help themselves afterwards? What if they revert to their old ways without your guidance? Don't go after lost causes... Trust me-- you'll regret it if you do."
Somewhere in the nearby city, there was the sound of ki being charged and released, which was followed by an explosion! Sounds like a fight might be brewing! As if a switch was flipped, Defrosch went into an entirely different mindset. "... Café can wait, that comes first."

Truth be told, Beryl wanted to straight-up call Defrosch an asshole; however, Beryl was way too nice to do that. Defrosch was moody, salty and not very personable in Beryl’s eyes, but the Arcosian was still scary as hell. Personally, Beryl thought the only reason Defrosch didn’t outright attack him was because of the enormous strength gap between the two of them. If Defrosch was just as powerful, Beryl truthfully believed that the space lizard would’ve tried and fried him with some kind of superheated finger laser or something of the sort. “I still think everyone deserves a chance,” Beryl said in response to Defrosch warning about assisting “lost causes”. “I’m sure you wouldn’t want anyone considering you a lost cause, someone that’s unable to receive help.” Did Beryl think Defrosch was a little crazy? Yes, but if he needed help, Beryl wouldn’t hesitate to offer him help. And now was the perfect opportunity for Beryl to do just that. Explosions boomed in the distance – their origins unknown, but if Beryl had to hazard a guess, it was due to ki discharge. That meant that whomever was causing the explosions, they weren’t any ordinary person. Defrosch’s demeanor made a complete turn. Sure, the Arcosian was still salty, but at least he was willing to cooperate. “What in the world is going on?” Beryl muttered, eyelids lowering. He thought he would be able to go a day without nothing too crazy happening. Apparently, that wasn’t going to happen. Frowning, he eyed the tall Arcosian. “Go ahead and lead the way. I’ll follow.” He blinked. “Are you prepared to fight if need be?”Defrosch

Defrosch raised an eyebrow at Beryl's response. Giving people a chance was fine, that alone wasn't the problem. "Okay? I never said anything about that. Its just- what're you gonna do about someone that takes advantage of those 'chances' you give them? Its okay to be helpful just... Don't be a doormat." Now, did Defrosch think Beryl was crazy? Yes, he more than likely did, but was Beryl a bad guy? Perhaps a bit naive, but not bad in the least. "If someone doesn't like me, thats their business and their problem, not mine." The Arcosian simply stated before rushing off towards the source of the explosions.
"As for whats going on? No clue, I can tell its not good though. Sounded like a ki discharge..." Defrosch focused on his ki sensing for a moment, and as luck would have it he only registered a few presences. One that was fairly powerful in comparison to most Earthlings and one he had in fact met before... During the Saiyan invasion. It was one of the two that landed in the Fortuneteller's desert; the bumbling idiot Tarnap. There were several others around him; all humans that surprisingly rivaled his power with their numbers-- they were either martial artists or BBA troops, either way it was a good sign that they were around. "Okay, good news, no civilians. Bad news, there's an angry SSE loyalist causing some trouble for a few local fighters." Curiously enough, Defrosch was acting as if the conversation prior had never happened... Either he wasn't as mad as he seemed or he knew how to handle his emotions. In any case, it would seem his mood did a complete 180.
"My, aren't you a nosy one." The Arcosian's tone changed further when Beryl asked him if he would be willing to fight if necessary. It was almost... Jovial? Playful? Whatever it was, it was straight up bizarre coming from someone like Defrosch. "You'll see."
As Defrosch turned the corner, his suspicions were confirmed. In the middle of the street stood Tarnap, a giant of a Saiyan standing at 6'4" wearing tattered and hastily patched SSE issue armor, being surrounded by a group of local fighters from several martial arts schools. "TREMBLE IN FEAR, LOWLY DIRTLINGS! YOU WILL PAY FOR YOUR CRIMES AGAINST THE SAIYAN SOLAR EMPIRE!"
'Pbbt... This is rich, dumbass doesn't even know what hes up against...'
Tarnap has a PL of some kind but it doesn't matter because hes a weak weeniebaby NPC.

Although Beryl said nothing, it was clear that he was getting fed up with Defrosch’s attitude. Whatever, most Arcosians had the same salty, arrogant personalities – they didn’t like to be one-upped by anyone, and they viewed themselves as the greatest thing in the galaxy since toilet paper. Even if Defrosch hated the Arcosian Empire, Beryl believed Defrosch basically acted exactly like the loyalists Defrosch despised so much. The irony was truly something. As the short-horned frost demon darted off, Beryl quickly followed. He had little difficulty keeping up and eventually, the two of them stumbled upon the source of the ki discharge before. Several local martial artists surrounded a tall, brute of a Saiyan decked out in raggedy, traditional Saiyan armor. Beryl rounded the corner with Defrosch – his eyelids lowered at both the Arcosian’s giddy response at the thought of a fight and the stupid Saiyan’s arrogant blabbering. “Sir, I’m not exactly sure what’s going on here, but I’m going to have to ask you to stop,” Beryl told Tarnap, his voice calm and composed. He looked around the surroundings, trying to note any collateral damage or casualties. The random martial artists appeared ready to fight, but Beryl had a feeling none of them really stood a chance against the Saiyan. “If you aren’t willing to stop, then we’re going to have to stop you by force.” Beryl was already expecting Defrosch to let loose with a slew of smartass comments. Yes, Saiyans, especially the SSE ones, typically didn’t listen or take peaceful solutions, but Beryl had to be professional. He was the leader of the Galactic Patrol after all. Defrosch

"YOU DIRTLINGS THINK YOU CAN STOP THE MIGHT OF A SAIYAN?! REALLY?! YOU PATHETIC LOSERS?!" Tarnap laughed... To an alarmingly lengthy degree. Now it was true that Saiyans typically had an extreme egotism problem, but this... This was something else. "YOU WANT ME TO STOP? THEN MAKE ME STOP!!" The giant growled and licked his lips as he stomped towards Beryl and Defrosch.
"This is... different." Defrosch mumbled, narrowing his gaze on Tarnap for a moment before signalling to the martial artists that the situation is under control with a quick thumbs up. They nodded between themselves and began to channel their ki. Like Beryl, Defrosch surveyed the scene for casualties and collateral damage, which was thankfully minimal. It seems the fighters that were previously dealing with this wayward Saiyan already took care of leading civilians to safety.
"DO YOU HEAR ME!?" Tarnap towered over Beryl and Defrosch, and with a deep breath, he let out a fearsome roar!
"BRRRRRIINNNNG IIIITT OOOONNNN!!!"
At such close range, Beryl and Defrosch would be able to see something if they were quick enough, the Saiyans face was red, and his eyes were bloodshot was he... Sweating? No, crying?! With one mighty heave of his body, Tarnap brought down both of his fists upon Beryl and Defrosch- but nothing could prepare him for what would happen next...

Beryl resisted the urge to roll his eyes. If anyone was the stereotypical, “caveman”, slobbering monkey Saiyan, it was Tarnap. The woefully ignorant warrior had no intentions of stopping his “murderous rampage”, which unfortunately meant that both Beryl and Defrosch would have to stop him by force. The poor SSE soldier had no clue what he was up against and while Defrosch made no effort hiding his confidence, Beryl stood there with the same, neutral expression as before. He didn’t even flinch as the mammoth of a Saiyan stomped on over towards him and Defrosch – visage twisted in the ultimate, try-hard expression. Clasping his fists, Tarnap swung both of them downward, aiming to splatter Defrosch’s and Beryl’s skulls all over the pavement. Beryl had no clue what Defrosch was planning, but he saw it best not to take any chances. With a sigh, he lashed forward with his dominant left hand – a fierce hook aimed directly for the Saiyan’s armored stomach. Saiyan armor was an impressive armament, and it was immensely popular for its durability, flexibility and its stylistic appeal, but it’d do next to nothing to save Tarnap from Beryl’s unreal strength. The single, half-assed blow would be enough to knock Tarnap unconscious on the spot, given that it hit in the first place. If the blow managed to land and if Tarnap was out cold, Beryl would shake his head. “I figured that the remaining SSE forces had already retreated back to Vegeta,” he mused out loud, looking the unconscious Saiyan over. “ The fact that there are some still stationed here is … not good. For all we know, they could be here gathering intel for the SSE back on Vegeta.”Defrosch

"FIIIIIIIGHT MEEEE!!" Without a second to lose, Defrosch swished his tail to launch some dust into the Saiyans eyes "WHY YOU LITTLE-" Tarnap was on the verge of snapping completely, and perhaps he would have literally snapped in half if Beryl had put any semblance of effort into his punch. "Ughgh-!! What...? No... Way... I couldn't..." Tarnap coughed up a slobbery loogie onto the floor as his eyes watered. "Find her..." With his last moment of consciousness leaving him, his body relaxed as he dropped backwards straight into the pavement, leaving a sizeable crack under his weight.
"Yeah, I would've thought so too.." Defrosch narrowed his eyes at the fallen giant, processing his words. The way Tarnap's face was puffy and flushed red, his hair disheveled (even for a Saiyan)... It didn't take much of a look over to know that the giant was a complete and utter mess. "Even so, I don't think its that simple." Defrosch wave over the warriors that were previously engaged in combat with Tarnap. "Yo! Mind if we ask you some questions?"
The warriors had since ceased charging up their techniques, they looked between each other and shrugged, seeing no harm in giving the details to the two that just helped them out. So, they wandered over, their 'leader' stepping forward; a tall intimidating woman with wickedly fearsome eyebrows. She was the master of the Cricket School; Cerci Garyl. "Not at all, what'd you lads have in mind?"
