Hello! I'm Hyoza, pretty new around here, but very experienced with Roleplay across various mediums and genres. I live in a different time zone to most of the current staff, so I'd be able to provide staff assistance in a large time period where the others aren't about.
I've got a strong passion for the Dragon Ball universe, and find it a fascinating subject for Roleplay, and I hope to help you all enjoy the place as much as possible.

Hi, my name's Oguma. I guess I've been role playing for about four years. I've never really held a position as a moderator before, but I've attempted to make different role play sites in the past ranging from fantasy settings to Pokemon. I've come to find though that among the role plays I have played, and anime and manga I have witnessed that Dragon Ball is very good. There's just something about it, maybe how well the fighting and story lines are crafted, that makes me really like it.

Well I am Ninjin a rather new member to this forum but not to the forum rp community as a whole.
I have been rping on forums for nine years and in world of warcraft and other media as well. I personally run a Bleach RP site that has survived seven years of existing despite many large overhauls and changes to it over the years. I am honestly offering up myself to give the others a welcome hand as I know full well that when the staff gets overwhelmed no one has any fun roleplaying.
My knowledge of DBZ goes back to the fact I remember watching it as the very first anime I ever saw. The local non network station would run DBZ and Sailor Moon back to back about five am on weekends. That is why I love this show and why I love to try and help others with whatever is needed.

I see there is a sprinkling of "No"'s among these votes(though currently yes seems to be the winning vote), so I definitely encourage people to step forward and raise any concerns or critiques. Obviously don't be rude But a legitimate critique is totally valid, and worth that person taking into consideration(I assume we're all mature enough not to get hot and bothered over something silly like that). If you do not feel comfortable mentioning such concerns publicly though, then you may PM them to me  . I will take them in complete confidentiality. For myself, I voted yes on all, but my one concern is on you Oguma. I know you sometimes get a little busy and don't want to see your RPing negatively impacted by extra workload But I'm fully happy to have you on-side and definitely trust you in the role, so as long as that balance stays there everything should be sweet . |

I am apart of the sprinkles of no that you noticed. I don't doubt Ninjin or Hyoza's ability to be admin/helpers but as they are fresh(Probably due to my absence) to me I can't yet place that trust. However in the case of Oguma and Jor they are more familiar and I can easily place my trust in them to do a good job as admin/helper. Oguma sometimes gets busy and life smacks him in the face which is understandable, but I voted no on that also as I would prefer him only focusing on the awesome posts he kicks out and not over extending himself. Jor is Jor so there you have it  |

Alright, I think it's about time to promote the two top people being voted for here! Being about a week after this was made, and a very large of votes coming in, it's about time to call Oguma and Jorlaxl our new staff! Now, position-wise, we'll need to see where they qualify for.
My honest opinion, at the moment, is have you two start off as regular moderators or Global Moderators. I know Jorlaxl, in particular, has had some trouble in the past with activity, so rather than give you a big work load at the beginning, I would say you should start small as well. In Oguma's case, it's actually the opposite. Oguma's an active role player, providing constant effort with Holly Sprig and making a really intriguing story line with both characters. So, to make sure we don't swarm you with stuff, I also suggest that Oguma or Holly (your pick here dude on which you want in staff position) be made into a moderator.
As moderators, you guys would handle rule coverage, and character approval, with grading practice on the side. The difference between Global Moderators and regular moderators would be you can grade actual threads, but not be able to update player profiles when they gain power level, zeni, items, and/or transformations.
This is my opinion on what should happen, so you guys aren't getting wrecked by the workload and real life at the same time like we current guys have been.

Been working my magic behind the scenes and (in the rare moment where I have a moment to think) have been deciding on how this process should be formalised. Part of this new system, which you may now notice, is that all of you have now been added to a group called 'Volunteer'. It seems a common reason for the occasional no vote here, which I feel is perfectly justified/reasonable, is the newness of some of those who have put their hand up. (eg. For some, Jorlaxl is new. For others, Hyoza and Ninjin are new.) So this Volunteer title, as it's name suggests, indicates that you have put your hand up to help out more. Plan is to use this from now on whenever we get new people, both to ease them into it and let others get to know them. ----- Pieter, I can agree that is a sensible course of action here For this poll, we can see that all of the candidates have a majority in their favour. (will clarify, this wasn't a 'winners got to be staff' poll, this was a 'SWG is lazy and combined 4 separate threads into one' poll, take each candidate's two options in isolation). However, It will likely be the weekend before I can sort this out. I have no issue with quickly adding the two highest as global moderators right now though. (that is indeed what I would be doing once I address this poll. I was even considering assigning each as regular moderators to a section, so they can more specifically keep an eye over their area + general stuff we all do on the side) - However seems I have run out of time this lunch break Cyas. edit: ok, added Oguma and Jor right now as the two with the most support, and plan is to organise and plot out the rest of this when I get to the weekend. Any objections or concerns just shoot me a PM. |
