Fukurou Forest (Two Weeks until the 9th Centennial Conference)
Oguma rose from his place in the woods and cracked his fingers, rolled his shoulders, and looked around. It was painful to sleep in armor, especially in the weak human body he possessed and he truly wished to unleash his demonic power. Unfortunately, hunger and the warnings of his masters kept him from doing so. He yawned, grabbed his spear, and started to walk through the forest until he came upon a small white rabbit. It was very weak looking compared to him so instead of letting it hop away he bent down, dove forward, and scooped the tiny animal up into his arms in two swift actions. "Hello little rabbit," he said with a grin on his handsome face. The rabbit wiggled as he let it dangle above the ground in his right arm. It would probably not provide him a lot of nourishment but he used his skills with basic ki to enhance his empty left fist and fired a punch into the rabbit's gut. The rabbit let out no noise at all but instead simply died from the impact of his fist. Its soul spilled out of its stomach and he reached out and grabbed it. Then he took the rabbit's body, tossed it aside, and left it there to rot. "The dead needed no graves," he told himself as he walked on and put the rabbit's spirit into his mouth and chewed. It was weak, not very nourishing and would have tasted bad had Oguma not felt the taste of broccoli coming from the dead beast's soul. There was absolutely no combat experience in the small creature so he felt bad knowing his power would not grow much, however, he would not give up. As it stood, at full power, he was sure he could probably decimate a city if needed to. Although he remembered in the past his siblings and masters had told him not to do this. Destroying too much at once would cause the people to panic and probably make them want to kill him. He did not need that. He simply wanted a strong opponent with the same intelligence as him that was neither his brother, sister, nor his masters or parents. He had yet to find that though after a year because the humans of the north were rather weak, despite their harsh conditions. Maybe this region in the west he had just entered would make an effort to fight against him once they learned of him.

Azurai's journey had taken him many places. He had interacted with people of all shapes and sizes and was yet to find a Human without a conscience or a soul. By following the teaching's of his masters he had successfully stopped 3 crimes with words alone. Azurai was starting to wonder why violence would ever need to be used on Earth in the first place. While Azurai pondered on these thoughts he realized that somewhere along the way he had taken a wrong turn and ended up in some sort of forest. Something felt quite off about this forest. Through the eyes of a normal human being this forest was something elegant. The sun shining onto the leaves of the trees made them glow while the raindrops from a previous storm dripping off these same leaves helping a beautiful feeling by making the forest sparkle. But even with all this something felt strange to Azurai. He wasn't quite sure what he was feeling, but it wasn't a feeling of happiness.
Azurai made his way through the forest keeping an eye out for anything strange. The strange feeling lay dormant in Azurai's stomach. As Azurai trekked through the forest he abruptly stopped, noticing something in the distance. It was a white rabbit. It was a sign of life. A beautiful creature running through it's home probably trying to collect food for it's family. The strange feeling hadn't left Azurai but he did feel better that something beautiful inhabited this forest. Azurai decided to follow the rabbit and study it. It was his mission to learn about Earth so why not learn about this little Rabbit? Azurai followed the rabbit until he noticed someone. Someone off in to the distance, making his way toward the Rabbit. Azurai crouched, not knowing who this man was or what his purpose was. Azurai had met good people on his travels but he knew that there were bad people too. And this forest didn't help him in thinking he would find anyone good here.
Azurai watched the man as he picked up the Rabbit in a swift action that Azurai couldn't really see properly. He noticed the man spoke to the Rabbit with a grin on his face. The man looked happy, maybe he was like Azurai and simply wanted to admire the Rabbit. Azurai continued to watch until something horrific happened. Azurai watched as the man ruthlessly killed the Rabbit, and tossed him aside on the ground. Azurai would have understood if this man was a hunter needing to feed his family, but watching the man throw that Rabbit aside like trash made him know otherwise. Azurai stood up, calming his mind, and walked towards the man. If the man didn't notice Azurai was there he would simply follow him until he did.
Sorry that I retyped some of your actions, I like to post what my character sees you doing and write a little interpretation. If it's not accurate enough I'll gladly retype it.

Oguma licked his lips and looked around in the cool forest surrounding him. He saw many a tree cast its shadow down on the clearing he was in, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary until he was sure he heard the sound of someone's boots stepping towards him. He faced their direction without fear. The person seemed light footed and as his eyes focused on them he could see nothing underneath the cloak they wore. Whoever they were they were hiding their presence well for someone who did not seem to be using the ancient technique known as Ki Suppression.
He was sure he would never be able to use it, since he was a demon, but the figure coming towards him definitely looked like a human and thus a greater food source than before. He gripped his spear and pulled it over his back so it pointed at the man coming at him and asked, "Who are you? Oh, wait, I should not care. I am hungry and food is all I need right now. Not a challenging opponent."
His stomach rumbled in agreement and he almost felt like he was on the verge of death. If he could get the human to come close enough to him he could thrust his trusty weapon through his body and likely tear his flesh to shreds. Humans were fragile creatures who put their bodies in harms' way to match their opponent, at least that was what his family had told him. For a demon, killing the man in front of him would not be a problem hopefully and whatever came of their small struggle would only make him stronger.

"Who are you? Oh, wait, I should not care. I am hungry and food is all I need right now. Not a challenging opponent."
The man's words caught Azurai off guard, almost making him flinch in place.
Food? does this man think he can eat me? Why didn't he just eat the Rabbit?
Azurai fixated all his thoughts to what the man had just said. Undearneath his hood Azurai was shocked. He hadn't heard any other human on his travels ever utter those words. The words made it sound like the man planned on eating Azurai or, judging by the ridiculously pointy spear aimed directly at Azurai's self, hunting Azurai. Hunting him like it was some sort of sport. Azurai stopped approaching the man as his look of shock, which was luckily hidden underneath his hood, dispersed. Azurai stood completely calm and serene in manner. Azurai knew he had to approach this differently, maybe a little less delicately in the way he usually acted around strangers. Azurai slowly moved his two arms toward his hood. Still standing in place he grabbed onto the soft and silky material that was his hood and revealed his face. His moderately long white hair dropped completely covering his face with a length reaching just below his ears. While looking at the man he moved all of the hair covering his face to one side. Azurai decided how he would approach the man. Azurai continued to watch the man, staring him down as his calm exterior quickly changed. A gigantic grin filled Azurai's face while he itched the back of his face. Azurai only asked one question.
"So, what are you planning on doing with that spear?"
Azurai awaited an answer from the man still holding his giant, lovable grin.

Oguma looked into the white haired monk's eyes with an evil glare the moment he lowered his hood and asked him the question, "So what are you planning on doing with that spear?" He began to chuckle but held it back as he pulled his spear back with his right arm.
"What do you think every warrior does with the weapon they carry, you nitwit? I'm going to thrust my weapon through your body and then eat you slowly." A faint black aura made from his ki began to gather around his left hand and he slowly began to raise it into the air. Above him his power began to consolidate and form a small, yet growing black orb in the sky. From this, a secret weapon would come.
"Run while you can because I have the power to drop something very heavy on you even if I my spear's sharp point misses you human brat." All humans whether they were warriors or not were breakfast, snacks, lunch, and dinner to him. He hated talking food so he wanted to get it to shut up and die. He did not even ask for a name, but if somehow the man before him survived, which was very unlikely, Oguma intended to hunt him to the ends of the Earth. His energy was low at the moment, but he was sure either one good spear thrust or his secret weapon, the Demon's Gate to Other World would end the chase he was about to begin. It was his secret technique, the power to summon the gate of the dead.

"What do you think every warrior does with the weapon they carry, you nitwit? I'm going to thrust my weapon through your body and then eat you slowly."Azurai had every right to be worried. The man intended to hunt Azurai and eat him like an animal. Although originally Azurai was worried about the man's gesture, or his intent to eat Azurai, now he was curious. Azurai had never heard of a human wanting to eat another human. In fact Azurai had even thought the term cannibal was a myth. Azurai's purpose of learning about the Earth he inhabited before becoming a true Monk was starting to be fulfilled. He would have never dreamed of meeting a person like the man standing in front of him. Azurai actually wanted to thank the man for helping him on his journey thus far. "Run while you can because I have the power to drop something very heavy on you even if I my spear's sharp point misses you human brat."The man's second sentence interrupted Azurai's thinking. Azurai noticed that while he was thinking, and essentially ignoring the man in front of him, the man had created a black orb in the sky. The orb started small but was beginning to grow. The orb made Azurai's strange feeling from earlier return. This time the strange feeling made Azurai feel empty. The strange feeling was beginning to consume Azurai's peace and begin to make him feel something that you could only describe as death. The man was beginning to scare Azurai. But even with this strange feeling Azurai's calm, happy shell remained. He couldn't let the man know how he truly felt. If he did then he would only lose. (Starting the battle phase here, tell me if it seems off or anything. I'm still learning this sites battle mechanics)Azurai watched as the man thrust his spear towards Azurai. The way the man threw the spear was natural and athletic in form and if Azurai wasn't expecting it then the spear probably would have hit Azurai or maybe even killed him. As the spear headed towards Azurai he had no time to think. Luckily thanks to the Monks who raised him he was taught the technique Zanzoken. Azurai remembered being taught to use Zanzoken as a second nature when avoiding attacks. Because of this the spear proved to be no trouble. Azurai swiftly dodged to the left of the spear creating an after-image of where he had previously stood. The spear went through the after-image causing it to disperse. Azurai stood completely in-tact with the same grin he had earlier. Rubbing the back of his head like before he spoke to the man. "Man that was a close one, I guess you probably shouldn't have told me you were going to eat me. That one might have actually gotten me in time, hehe."Azurai spoke to the man hoping to distract him from making anymore moves like the thrust of his spear. With the opposite hand to the hand used to scratch his head placed behind his back Azurai began to charge his energy wave. Azurai hoped that the man didn't notice this energy wave being charged. This energy wave was a secret technique, only known to the Monks that raised him, called the Disruptive Wave. Hoping that the man wouldn't notice this energy wave being charged Azurai awaited the man's next move.

----------------------------- the Grader Regarding the GodModding in this post, I said he threw the spear when he originally didn't, we cleared this up afterwards and he was glad I made his character throw the spear. I thought he threw the spear in the original post because he listed it as technique used but he didn't. So yeah when grading please take this into account. We used this post as more of a learning how to use battle mechanics and I didn't realize that I made him throw the spear but the end result was that he was fine with it. If you have any questions please PM me.

Oguma grit his teeth and pulled his arm back the moment that Azurai dodged his technique by moving to the left. In his place an image of himself was briefly seen before it disappeared. This pained Oguma because he now realized he had come across a higher grade human with some actual skills and a decent soul to consume. As his brown eyes fell upon the man rubbing the back of his head he heard him say, "Man that was a close one, I guess you probably shouldn't have told me you were going to eat me. That one might have actually gotten me in time, hehe."
It really irked him that he was right and what was more the fact that he could dodge made it all the much harder for Oguma now because he could not move much while charging. He had no idea that Azurai was charging his own attack behind his back, but Oguma continued to let the black orb in his hand grow. While it did the image of a steel-gray gate with a demon's face across it began to form within the black ki. Next to the gate were two long pillars that looked like metal castle turrets and supported the weight of the gate. The gate had a lock on the demon's face held down by interwoven chain links.
Oguma smiled and said, "You better hurry and attack." He could feel his left arm strain a little under the floating orb and the gate hidden within its black mass, but he continued to put his spirit into it because of his desire to kill the target before him. The strain was so great though he had to put his spear back onto his back and raise his right arm up to support his big attack. If Azurai looked up at it the attack he was charging would cover half of the clearing they were in with a gigantic shadow.

Azurai felt the strange feeling surrounding the area he was in grow even more immense in it's hold. He watched the technique that the Man in front of him was charging as it grew. A shadow began to overtake the clearing they were in, and in such a subtle way. This technique was beginning to worry Azurai. This Man was clearly no ordinary Man. This Man was a representation of evil itself and Azurai felt it deep down. The feeling of peace and clarity the Monk's had spent 18 years training Azurai to hold and obtain was beginning to slip. It was as if everything Azurai knew was a lie, all because of one Man and his ability. If this was the evil that violence brought on the world then Azurai worried how the Monks even planned to stop it with peace. It was in this moment Azurai had to briefly abandon what the Monks had taught him. Azurai had to resort to violence and go through with his plan. Azurai watched the man's technique as a black-gate began to form. This gate had a demonic presence in form with chains wrapped around it. Azurai knew the man was trying to unleash something hidden.
"You better hurry and attack."
It seemed like the man was urging Azurai to rush him, to attack him with his fists. Luckily Azurai's ball of energy hidden behind his back had gone unnoticed. Azurai followed the man's slight-order but not in the way the average human would do. Azurai revealed what was hidden behind his back, opening his palm to reveal a ball of purple energy. Azurai thrust his now open palm towards the man while he charged his own technique. The energy beam blasted out of Azurai's hand with increased power due to the extra charge. The beam was engulfed by a sinister purple aura, the type of purple that is demonic in it's colour, the beam headed directly towards the man as it burned the environment beneath it sucking away at it's life. Azurai stood there, knees bent, palm outward holding his Energy Beam controlling it's increased power with all his might.

Oguma stood there still charging his attak, but as the monk before him attempted to resist with a wave of purple ki erupting from his hands, he knew he could not stay quiet. The strain of materializing the Other World's entrance portal to the demonic world, the Demon's Gate, was hard on him. The reason being was that this gate was not meant to be summoned by normal people or demons. His sweat covered his tanned brow and he did not want to get hurt by the man's attack so he launched the amassed energy for summoning the gate directly in front of him so that the gate would drop down before and act as shield of offensive energy.
Its massive steel face thudded into the ground causing a small tremor yet it stood witness to Azurai's wave and connected with it. Under this pressure, the techniques were beginning to collide and generate heat; heat that burnt the woods around them and scarred the earth beneath their feet. Oguma could not believe a simple monk was giving him this much trouble. Though the end result of his tactic resulted in an explosion that sent him flying into a boulder and kept his foe's fate unknown.

Azurai could feel the intensity of his energy-wave begin to strain his body as it headed closer to contacting with the man. As the beam of energy was about to connect with the man opposing him he watched in terror as the man released his technique. For a split moment Azurai thought this man would be the death of him but luckily that was not the case, yet. Azurai watched the Man slam down the demonic=gate that Azurai had earlier taken note of. The gate hit the ground with a large amount of force causing the ground to tremor. Azurai did not let these tremors throw off his balance so he was able to keep his stance. While Azurai held onto his beam he watched as both their techniques collided. With the beam pressing against the Gate Azurai held onto his technique with more pressure than before while both techniques began to generate a large amount of heat. Azurai, not being able to let go of his technique in fear of losing this struggle, watched as the woods around them began to char. It pained Azurai that he was the cause of a portion of this forest's suffering but he there was nothing he could do about it, he had to fight for his life. After a few more seconds the gate gave in causing an explosion that would shake the earth around them.
Azurai let go of his attack to prevent from feeding the explosion that was a result of the man slamming down the demonic gate. Azurai attempted to fly into the air but the explosion was too fast and quick. The explosion would make contact with Azurai, scorching the entirety of his robes and pushing him away with an immense amount of force. The explosion sent Azurai hurdling through the edge of the woods and through a line of trees. Each tree would break due to the force of Azurai being pushed away. Each tree broke slower and slower before stopping Azurai completely. On the last tree Azurai bounced off and landed on the ground, struggling to get up he kneeled down on one knee and looked through the line of trees broken before him. Azurai was able to see all the way back to the site of the explosion. Azurai wondered if his opponent had suffered a similar fate.

Oguma rose to his feet and felt a strange sensation on the top of his head. His hair smelled like smoke and he realized it was burning so he put two fingers against a small ember caught in his hair and squeezed the flame. The fire went out and he cackled a little while inspecting his body. He was not heavily damaged, thanks to his armor, but the back of his head was spinning after the collision with the boulder.
He pointed at his opponent across the forest clearing and shouted at the bare-chested Azurai, "I hate to say this to you but I'm leaving now you troublesome human. Know this! The next time we meet in a setting like this I will eat your soul!" With his peace said, Oguma turned and began running north. It was time to retreat back into the wasteland and find some more time to train. This human was going to cause him trouble if he let him get stronger and he needed to heal the scratches all over himself. Hopefully, the young man would not try stop him.

"I hate to say this to you but I'm leaving now you troublesome human. Know this! The next time we meet in a setting like this I will eat your soul!"
The man shouted across the Azurai and attempted to flee. Azurai knew this man was stronger than him and was actually quite greatful that the man allowed him to escape, but even with everything that had just happened Azurai needed to know one thing. The man's name. Azurai quickly leaped into the air, as much as it hurt his body, and nearly using the last amount of energy he had left he activated his Bukujutsu once more and took flight. Azurai quickly busted in the direction of the man, reaching a reasonable distance behind him. Azurai stopped dashing forward and stayed idle, floating in the air.
"Before you leave me Evil-being, tell me your name."
Unlike before Azurai was quite serious in nature showing one side of his true personality. Azurai awaited a response from the man. Azurai knew the man wouldn't attack him, he assumed the man couldn't fly, but was prepared to use the rest of his energy to flee in-case he did.

Oguma turned around as he ran when heard Azurai following him and demand his name. He came to a halt and it pained him to see that this weakling human could even fly too as well as possess his own super human. Learning to do so was something that was not easy. He looked up into Azurai's eye sand his eyes became pitch black in color as ki flowed through them.
"You damn brat, stop showing off to someone who is one hundred times older than you. I, Oguma Inugami, the Dogma of Destruction take great offense that you would fly around before me like my sister the terrible Mei Inugami." He pointed his spear at Azurai and uttered, "I'll be coming back to kill you monk but perhaps we should exchange names so I can mail you a post card and blow up your home."
Oguma scratched his chin as he felt satisfied with his words then he realized something bad about those last words, one, monks did not really have homes, and two, that would be a dishonorable thing to do. He had only just met his opponent. The demonic books on conquering Earth had basic life lessons and one of them was to at least try to face your chosen rival until they became an annoyance to you. After that, well, anything was usable as a method for killing them. He would save the post card bombs, possible poisoning methods, and the classic anvil drop for another time. He just wanted a name from the monk and stood there waiting for him to give it to him.

"You damn brat, stop showing off to someone who is one hundred times older than you. He pointed his spear at Azurai and uttered, "I'll be coming back to kill you monk but perhaps we should exchange names so I can mail you a post card and blow up your home."
Azurai was once again caught off guard by the vicious words of the Man who earlier opposed him, now known to be Oguma Inugami, it seemed as though Azurai had unwillingly created an enemy. Azurai's objective as a monk would be to spread peace and not violence but in Oguma's case it seemed as though peace would never be the answer. Azurai looked into the black, empty demonic eyes of Oguama and began to smile. With a slight chuckle Azurai blatantly ignored the spear being pointed at him and prepared to respond to the demon.
"Well, Oguma. It may be unwise to give my name to someone who just threatened to blow up my home. But.. seeing as though I do not have a home I guess I will give you my name. Even if you are a crazed lunatic..."
Azurai slipped into thought after muttering the last sentence to himself quietly. As he scratched his chin in thought it would take Azurai a few more seconds to realize that he had just offered to give his name to Oguma.
"Oh, that's right... My name! The name's Azurai and one last thing. If you thought it was disrespectful that I would 'fly around before you' you're probably not going to like what I do next."
Azurai, with a smirk on his face, would fly away in the opposite direction of Oguma hoping that it would irk him a little more. Azurai may have came off as cheerful or happy during his final conversation with the demon but beneath all of it was anger. Azurai had spent 18 years maintaining his anger and was taught how to be calm at all times by his teachers. But this man who claimed to be one hundred times older than Azurai was the one man who had taken that away. Because of Oguma Inugami Azurai once again felt anger. If Azurai were to one day fight Oguma again who knows what the end result would be.

Oguma let out a demonic roar as the darkness in his eyes began to spread across his body. What Azurai had witnessed before coming from Oguma's eyes was his bottomless seeming black ki and not his real eye color. Now he pushed this energy out of his body and raised his power level quickly to its maximum base limit. He hated to see Azurai taunt him and then fly off at speeds he could just barely match. But he decided to also push off in the opposite direction and did so leaving him and the place they had been in far behind. At least now he knew there was someone in this world who might match him in his weakest form, the armored spiky-haired, brown-eyed human in armor Azurai had seen. With his spear in hand, he promised one day to gut that cheeky weakling and destroy his humble self as he headed back deep into the Gizzard Wastelands just north of them. Thread End
