Having been given this time to study Lusca's Power Level signature he realized that it was not rising above its original value despite the fact that she was taking up his challenge. So Katsu let his Ki Suppression relax a fair bit, letting his own Ki signature rise up to as close to the Namekians as he could aim it, ending up being just a tiny scrap above hers at 6,000 units. He could go higher but the idea was to match his opponent so they could get a good gauge of actual skill instead of power.
Speaking of skill, it would soon become clear that Katsu had little skill with his own makeshift weapon, but had a clear grasp of momentum and timing overall. Rather than block Lusca's wide staff swing to his shoulder Katsu would duck underneath by moving his left leg forward into a half-kneeling position, the staff brought down to the ground in front of him as the staff sailed over his head. When Lusca continued her assault by performing a backflip kick Katsu continued his earlier movement, this time pulling his right leg back, sidestepping out of the way of the kick. This put him in the perfect position to interrupt her next movement, slamming his own staff into hers as she attempted to use it for a double jump, attempting to destabilize her movement and cause her to faceplant the ground. If Katsu was successful in this endeavor he would take a couple steps back before resuming his original stance, speaking in a lecturing tone.
“The argument could be made that while heavy strikes with lots of momentum is a good way to overpower an enemy, that smaller quicker strikes is the better option against someone who is just as fast as you. You against me, I'd suggest staff thrusts and punches over wide swings and heavy kicks.”
If Katsu's endeavor would not succeed he would continue his steps to the left, moving himself out of the range of her second kick attempt, the staff base held forward with his left hand near the end of the staff, and the center of the staff still held in his right hand and pulled back, almost as if he was getting ready for a baseball swing. He would continue to circle strafe Lusca, seeing if he could get her to open up her guard for a solid strike, or have her lose her temper and attack him again.
Katsu would also respond to Walker whether or not his endeavor went through, “Certainly, uh... I didn't get your name yet... and sorry! That was me. Needed a staff to spar with Lusca here. I'll put it back after I'm done, promise!” Katsu would also speak to the green minotaur like creature that had appeared, inferring by the speech before and after his arrival that he was some kind of manifestation of the island itself.
The spar continued...

Dodged first 2 strikes, attempted to interrupt the double jump by hitting the staff, hopefully causing Lusca to fall. If successful, incoming advice.
If failure, Katsu simply retreats and circles Lusca.

The feminine Namekian anticipated he'd try to use her staff against her, and instead of falling to the floor as he no doubt intended... she decided to cheat. When her staff got knocked back by his, she simply stretched towards him instead with her attempted grapple around his head with her legs. "Good move, for facing a human." she remarked as she tried to crush his head between her thighs whilst her ankles would try to dig into his back, preferably the group of muscles around the spinal column. Enough pressure applied to such a location tended to have debilitating effects on the opponent. With the approach of the construct that was clearly pissed at the actions of the human, Lusca would try to give her legs one final squeeze before trying to use the human as a springboard, pushing him towards the zenomorphic construct whilst she relocated to behind the human, recollecting her staff in the process. She gave her weapon an almost lazy twirl before she held to her side and ever so slightly behind her, her legs in an L-stance as she looked towards the cocky human. "He's all yours for defiling you sir if you want." the feminine Namekian said with a respectful bow of her head towards the construct representing this structure.

Walker nodded, Loccus grumbling but grudgingly nodding as well. "That is appreciated. My name is Walker, by the way, and this is Loccus." The green minotaur gave a salute, and kept watching, as Lusca showcased just why melee fighting Namekians was a bad idea. Limbs stretching, they moved around with quite a bit of agility, before turning to Walker and Loccus.
"He's all yours for defiling if you want, sir."
The pair froze, then looked at each other almost in unison. Then, still eerily synchronized, they tilted their head, looking at Lusca with confusion. "Err...." Loccus could only cough and stare. Walker, putting a hand over where his mouth would be, sat in silence for a moment. "My friend, I am not sure if you understand precisely what you're saying. Either way, neither of us have the... desire. Even the capability, really, to... defile him." Loccus nodded slowly, and backed up noticeably from Lusca.
Coughing himself, Walker took a step back, and gestured. "As it is, he isn't doing quite... that much wrong. I would ask that you don't... defile him... yourself. Punching him is fine, however, that is what sparring is about." That was... extremely awkward. He was under the impression Namekians didn't even do that. What on earth had prompted that response?

The timeline was on Katsu's side. By the time Lusca would be able to begin stretching her legs towards him he would have gotten at least two steps distance. It was plenty of time for him to twirl his own staff in front of him counterclockwise, using the force of his spin to try and smack Lusca's legs as she tried to stretch her legs towards his head, the goal being to knock her legs away. Katsu of course wasn't going to stay in the same spot and began to move to his right, circling about Lusca in the opposite direction that he had struck her legs towards, as well as opening up some distance. The benefit of a staff was really only shown in medium to long range melee combat, up close it was a mere hindrance.
On his way out though Katsu would give a quick thrust with one end of the staff with his left hand, aiming it directly towards Lusca's head. It was more to prevent Lusca from following than doing any real damage, so Katsu could set up his original stance once again. It seemed then it was time to take a quick pause to speak to Walker and the Genius Loci of the Island.
“Double Entendre are fun but I don't think Lusca meant anything sexual by her comment.” Katsu was grinning again, this time at Lusca's ignorance of how her words might have been taken when she said them in just that way.
Pointing at Loccus, Katsu voiced a series of questions, “So you're a Genius Loci, right? The will and mind of a location manifested into a physical form? How does that work exactly? Did you exist before this place was charged with Sorcery or were you created as part of that Sorcery?” Moving to lean on his staff Katsu awaited the response patiently.

The Namekian blinked as the human used his staff to deflect her stretching limbs, repositioning herself through a combination of flight and her trained recovery to take up a new position, evading his strike towards her head in the process, her stance in the aforementioned style before she'd addressed the construct. She found herself blinking once more as all of them seemed to misinterpret what she'd said. "I meant you could do with the human as you saw fit for using you to create his staff, if you wanted sir." the feminine Namekian said, trying to figure out where the confusion could have arisen from. Apparently they thought she had said for them to defile the human for some reason... Earthlings were strange.

Walker coughed awkwardly at Lusca's comment. "Perhaps you should be careful when phrasing things in the future, Lusca." Moving hurriedly on, he let Loccus answer Katsu's query, feeling it more appropriate for the spirit to speak himself. "I am indeed, young one. I was awakened here millennia ago, when people began to live near me, those who built this city."
He gestured around them at the architecture, hands indicating the unusual and rather mystical design. "I acted as a trainer and guide to their warriors, though those of today frequently surpass even their grandmasters. You, for example, are probably stronger than any of them." It was hard to quantify with words, but even the greatest of them had been perhaps a 10th of the man's power. Apparently, something that low might as well have been fodder in today's world.
Nodding, Walker stepped forward. "As it stands, I take no offense, as long as you fix it. I am also glad that you are able to give Lusca a sparring partner. I could challenge the guardian of the Guru, but I suspect it would be clearly unmatched, and they would not appreciate that." Bowing slightly, he shook his head. "You did very well, whether you think so or not, Lusca."

“So sort of both? You did exist before the Sorcery, but not in the form you exist as now, not as something that could think and act."
Katsu mused upon the Genius Loci's words for a moment before giving what he felt was the simple truth, “As time moves on what could be considered a glorious achievement can be made commonplace and mundane. We all evolve, so what once was considered the supreme mastery is something a child could perform. If you don't evolve you fall by the wayside, if you don't always seek to become something more then you'll diminish by comparison.
“Which isn't to say that those before us are obsolete or to be discarded. Those who pushed against the limits of their time are to be commended and respected. That which we consider mundane could yet be impossible if it wasn't for them.” Katsu gave a sudden cough, interrupting his little speech. “Sorry, I got a little philosophical there I think. Basically what I mean to say is that there's no shame in venerating the past Grandmasters despite the current day fighters being stronger. And besides...
“My ability to manipulate Ki doesn't come from personal training or skill but from science. My power is not my own, yet, so I'm not worthy of praise for it. I'm still just a scientist, any skill in combat I possess comes from intellect over training or effort, which would leave me woefully unprepared for a serious combat, in my estimates.”
Yakkity yakkity yak yak. Katsu did talk a fair bit. He'd have to work on that a bit as he went forward. After all, if you're in a fight you don't want to be caught monologuing!

When Walker mentioned her not liking being overpowered by him, the feminine Namekian gave a brief shrug of her shoulders. "As I am right now, the threat posed to Namek overpowers me regardless." said Lusca before suddenly dropping to the floor and using her staff in an effort to trip up Katsu onto his back by smacking his lower legs. "Perhaps you should monologue less when sparring. Seems to be an unfortunate habit of Earthlings." quipped the Warrior Caste as she stood up, before she bowed towards Walker and the constructed form of the floating island.
"I thank you for sparing your time to speak with me, and allowing me some training here, but I must return to the Lookout now." apologised Lusca. "Helix still needs training himself, and he is... easily distracted if left alone for too long." the feminine Namekian sighed before beginning to leave the magic island citadel.

Walker bowed, waving one hand as he straightened up. "I am glad to help. Hopefully the chaos on Namek resolves itself soon, and favorably. I regret that the current situation requires such delays." Turning to Katsu, he tilted his head, "eyebrow raising" again. "I think Loccus would appreciate you putting that back, by the way." Settling down in the air, as though it was a seat, he observed the scientist.
"It is interesting to hear you say that. I am made from scientific means, and yet I trained to gain my ability. I learned under Kami, perhaps one of the most ancient masters there can be. Loccus here has been letting me make use of his knowledge of other styles, those that are available anyway." It had been most educational, seeing different martial arts styles. Walker's own style was a rather self-taught, all things considered. His size and unusual biology meant that he was able to perform feats that would be difficult for other fighters. For example, stretching limbs or twisting a joint 360 degrees.
Loccus, still nearby, tilted his head slightly. "You speak with wisdom." Walker chuckled slightly. "He's right. I do not mean to give a false impression. Evolution is paramount to survival. I constantly seek to better myself, but I recognize the mountain I stand upon was built by hundreds of others." A slight tension entered his tone. "This is why it disgusts me so that Earth remains protected by a few capable fighters, while billions of humans have power levels that do not even surpass the hundreds." Standing up, he sighed. "I apologize for ranting. Hopefully you will be able to glean some knowledge from your analysis, even if it does not include a sample from me."

Katsu was a little surprised when the staff smacked into the back of his legs, depositing him on his rump with a single, ”Whoa!” It didn't take him long to stand up and dust himself off. He continued to speak, but this time keeping himself ready in case she wanted to capitalize on his next monologue. “Well thank you for confirming the thought I was just having, Lusca. I've never heard of a Namekian who would do what you just did though. Most Namekians have something against using anything like a sneak attack if I remember correctly, especially in a spar. Something about it being dishonorable or something I think. No wait, I've heard of that one caste...what was the name... Mazoku Caste? Yeah that sounds right. I've heard the Mazoku Caste were effective combat pragmatists, are you one of them instead of Warrior Caste?”
While this would probably be a very cutting insult to any normal Namekian, Katsu just didn't have enough of a grasp on their social structure to understand that what he just said would be offensive. Continuing as if nothing were different Katsu would oblige Walker's request and pick up the staff he had created, focusing on it, he slowly undid the compression he had forced on it before, picking apart the atomic structure with his telekinesis so that it would return to its previous form exactly. This took quite a bit longer than the original compression because otherwise Katsu would simply break the staff. Once he had finally returned the staff to its original thickness he placed it back in the hole he had created, shifting the earth so that it would fit before covering it. Once he was done there would be no visible change to the landscape. It was like Katsu never took the staff at all.
Addressing Walker's statement about the human race, Katsu would give a shrug, “Well, to be fair, humans are not a warlike people in comparison to the Saiyans or the Arcosians. Now, perhaps we seem like bloodthirsty warriors to the Namekians, but most of us have no desire other than to simply live our lives. We do however respond to stimuli. Those of us with a desire to fight become strong like Bing Gan; those of us who cannot do so create warriors for us like Vi Poi and Bio-Androids like yourself. My own strength comes from a project designed to increase the fighting potential of a given soldier by a literal thousandfold. If it wasn't for the recent Saiyan Invasion, my team might have already completed the serum and the Blue-Banner KAOS unit swelled to the hundreds of thousands mark.” Katsu would sigh, scratching his head in annoyance.
“Despite the whole thing being incidental it couldn't have been more devastating than if they had detonated a bomb in the lab. All of our work crushed to useless computer parts and burned paper copies. Every member of my team except me squashed flat. Hell I was knocked into a coma for a month, and I've still got Amnesia from the whole ordeal. I'm trying to pick up the pieces, but this is one Hell of a jigsaw puzzle and I've only got the corner pieces.”
Taking out one of his Hoi Poi Capsules, Katsu would press the button and toss t into the air, revealing a device that looked to be some kind of detector, although much different than any medical scanner that Walker might have come across. Hitting some buttons on the screen Katsu started walking back and forth across the terrain near Walker and Loccus, the device silent except for the beeps it made whenever Katsu pressed a button. Katsu would begin speaking again as he continued to tinker with his strange device, ”That's why I'm looking for exotic samples. Our Project was meant to work on anyone, no matter their species or genetic differences, so I need a lot of different samples in order to test the effects of any prototypes I make...”
Continuing his little trek around the platform that they were currently on Katsu slowly moved farther and farther away from Loccus and Walker, staring at his device the entire time he moved...

At the mention of the word Mazoku and him suggesting she was one of them, the feminine Namekian immediately ceased her departure, and whirled around, her eyes ablaze with furious rage. She rapidly streaked towards him, her talons seeking out his throat to grab hold of even as her face pressed in close to his own. "Don't you ever call me Mazoku again you filthy monkey, do you hear me?!" snarled Lusca, her fangs bared as if she was going to rip him apart then and there. "I am not Mazoku, I am Warrior." she said, the anger clear in her voice before she would release him and start to leave once more.
She looked towards Walker and the ships construct as she made her exit. "Educate this scientist, or he may find himself as nutrients for your castle." Lusca said as she flew away into the sky, her rage simmering as she muttered under her breath.

Wincing, Walker heard Katsu's words and knew what must be coming next. Immediately, he felt Lusca halt, and spit a blistering invective at the scientist. As she flew off again, Walker moved over. "Err... Calling most Namekian a Mazoku is the equivalent of calling someone a traitor, a racial slur, and slapping them in the face all at once. Really, probably best NOT to do that? Ever?" Coughing awkwardly, he rubbed his head. Now that he thought about it... he had no idea where his own Namekian essence had come from. Ah well, questions for later.
"Hmm. I can understand why samples might be necessary. However, I'm not certain my biology is quite right for your serum." He flexed one limb, then uncoiled it, reducing it to a series of twisted roots and fibrous muscles. "You see, I am almost entirely plant-like. I don't have blood, nor the same organs as humans. I don't think the Serum would properly work with me." Even so, it was a noble goal. "However, if you would like me to help, I will do my best. I assume you've already examined your own blood for traces of the serum, but I would see if you can use your Ki and then test it while that is active."
He bowed, hands folded behind his back. "I wish you luck. I may not be a proper scientist, but let me know if there is some manner besides that in which I may aid you." Katsu was interesting, to say the least. If one could be awakened to his level through a mere liquid... well, in the words of one of those Rapping Artists, he would simply have to "Make it Rain." The Saiyans would not enjoy invading Earth quite so much if THAT happened.
[Guess this is ending? PL, then.]

Katsu had still been paying attention this time around, not trusting Lusca to not continue the spar in some manner. So when she had suddenly stopped her leaving and came rushing at Katsu he was ready. It didn't take much really, just a few steps outside her reach, moving left then right, to keep his neck out of her grasp as she practically frothed at the mouth in anger. Well I do believe I have learned something about Namekian culture at the least. Mazoku are not respected at all.
Katsu of course would have to show a bit more strength than he had yet to do so during his encounter with Lusca, raising his speed to somewhere near the 9,000 units mark in order to keep himself away from her frantic attempts to grab him by the throat.
Once Lusca finally backed off and left, muttering under her breath, Katsu just dusted off his labcoat with one hand, his other still holding his sensor device. “Well that was interesting. Some insight into the Namekian psyche.
“Anyway. Your DNA would actually be useful precisely because it contains such a varied bunch, Walker. Plant and Animal genetics aren't supposed to be compatible at all. We don't even get sick from each other's diseases. A creature such as yourself that contains both types of genetics would give me the absolute best comparison.” Katsu would look up from his sensor, grinning at Walker, “Don't worry though, I can get other samples, I'm not obsessed with merely one facet of my research.
“My own samples have proven remarkably fruitless in telling me what the serum actually did to me. My hypothesis is that the serum involved the use of a nanite solution to provide the effect, after which the nanites were programmed to self destruct and my body simply flushed them out like so much waste material. I'm still looking for any changes to my genetics or existing flesh, but I've not been able to pinpoint any one thing yet.”
Katsu would return to his sensor device, still walking about the entire area, every so often picking something up off of the ground, rolling it over in his hands once or twice, then placing it back down before continuing on. He responded to Walker's last comment as he picked up one last object, this time not putting it back down. “Oh worry not. My research will remain quite steady as long as I myself do not die until I can complete it.” Katsu tossed the object he had grabbed into the air in an exaggerated fashion, making it clear he wanted Walker to look at it. Should Walker pay attention to it, he would see that it was a bit of cast off black bark. Turning into a giant tree then igniting tended to cause some skin erosion, and the little cast off Katsu had been holding was the equivalent of a human scraping off some dead skin.
That was enough for Katsu's research, and Katsu was silently asking Walker if he could take that piece. He would retrieve another Hoi Poi capsule, this one turning into a small storage device, and if Walker had not taken the shard from him he would place it into the capsule before shrinking it back down and pocketing it and his sensor device.
Whether or not that would happen as Katsu hoped, a melodic series of beeps would ring out as Katsu received a message on his datapad. Looking it over Katsu would sigh, getting out the capsule that contained his hover vehicle. “Bah. It seems the BBA wants me to complete a job for them. Since they control my funding, I had better head out.” Approaching Walker Katsu would place his right hand out to shake Walker's hand, and then turn it to Loccus to do the same.
”It was enlightening to meet both of you. Perhaps next time we can speak at greater length. I may not have been a part of the team that was responsible for your creation, Walker, but give me a few months and I'm sure I could help even someone as strong as you evolve further. Fare well for now.” With that Katsu would return to his hovercar, slowly floating up into the air before zooming off towards the East, vaguely towards Satan City...
