Yes, I'm relatively new here so no this isn't a long drawn out request or demand of a staff position. I am merely posting this as a way of saying that if their is ever need of one. That I would be honored and glad to be able to help out this site. Ever since joining this site, 99% of my interactions with staff and it's members have been awesome and almost completely without drama. Most sites I have been on; I've felt the need to somewhat hide what I am (a black guy). But here nobody started treating me any different and I've grown to love this site in my relatively short time here and would love to help out new members as the wonderful staff here helped make my transition smooth. Sorry, this post is already much longer than I intended but not as long as our post . But thank you everyone who took the time to read this and see in the IC. Initial Topic

As I have with the other Volunteers, some of who're now staff, I'll be asking you this:
Do you understand that, upon becoming a volunteer and possibly being a full time staff member later on, that your patience will be tested, whether it is grading, approving characters, approving techniques, being a mediator to other members, and adhering the rules we have established on the forum here?

*Points at his explanation that he's a few times already* Do you understand the terms of what it means to be a Volunteer, followed up by staff position? It's a responsibility and a privilege.

*raises hand* I don't mind being a volunteer. Being that I'm on daily, with nothing to do in between posts. Obviously I have read that being a volunteer member, and later a full staff person requires patience, but I also bet dedication and understanding attitude to see things from different perspectives.
Of course I'm still a pseudo-new member, so I understand if it's too early for me to volunteer.

I would like to help out in anyway I can. I usually have a lot of time off when I'm not at work, and I like reading so I could almost always grade if I was taught how to do it. thanks!

I want you guys to get more established around the site first, get yourselves comfy first before taking up this work. Truth be told, there are no major perks about being a staff member. You grade, distribute, and implement rules and information that is voted on by the site. Being that you're just getting here, go have some fun rping fist!

I'd like to help out. I thought long and hard about this, because adminship even being a mod is not something new to me. I've been apart of many guilds, sites, forum RP's where I retained the role as an RP officer. In some situations within the past I had to police RP do to inappropriate aspects being done, even do hard choices like kick or ban those I considered friends. Either permanaty or for a few hours. As an admin in the past I rose up to head RP officer instead of a sub seat and eventually became a leader in other spectrums. From genres of complex RP where lore is key like Star Wars the old republic. Both factions Jedi & Sith. Anime RP's with headache situations like Gundam. And new RP's like bleach.
As an Admin over a certain genre I think it's important to know the lore. That way you back up facts if something goes wrong on a character sheet or if something OP let alone metagaming happens in the RP. I do believe both genres of Lore is important. Meaning cannon lore we follow as members. The rules which is also a concept of lore since we follow them. The principles of RP rules, with the enticement of our own creation of lore to expand the RP universe so members can have fun. I've been around and known many storyline personal. I've seen three characteristics always:
Those who have fun RPing: which leads to fun immaculate structure. Resulting in many players liking the character both in and out of character. Where people can just talk and enjoy themselves.
Those who use RP as a stress reliever: I do this sometime. When I'm bored, tired, mad, or fall into a fallacious situation I write to keep my sanity. These RPers normally strive to better themselves in character and out as a creator. They still have fun doing so. They are just constant and consistent with ideas and ideals.
Those who RP to prove a point: This type I do not approve of. It is the bane to creative writing. A bane to the fun atmospheric pressure and to the game. It creates conflict in Ooc more than in character. Starts drama that lead to serious issues. in result its a headache to members. Staff. And even creators. Ultimately those type are banned. I was taught in the past to give chances as a admin or mod. But if the lesson is not learned the trigger will be pulled.
I have expertise in plot creating and helping develop character sheets. Heavy lore finatic. And I too can be cold blooded when the situation demands. I would rather sacrifice one person that does not enjoy the time here and obey the laws, than watch a community of individuals suffer. I feel an admin and or mod should treat his or her role like a second job. I feel it shows performance and shows you can handle anything that comes your way.
If I magically get the position I intend to offer my expertise fully. Go hard or go home right? I want to decrease the work load on you lot and work as a team. I would rather work approving and helping character sheets. Grading PLs is not my forte. Just as math is not. But if it is needed I'll take the time to seek trying from both sides to be able to handle it with a diversed approach than an inexperienced one.

Was gonna get to that, Gage, but thank you for covering it!
Anywho, like the previous moderators and administrators before, we do want you to do a full advertisement incentive to show us you have the wish to really see this place prosper.
Now, the ultimatum question: Are you prepared to uphold the duties of a staff member, which consist of grading, rules clarification, character approval, technique approval, and anything requiring staff attention, with the knowledge that being a staff member does not entitle you to anything, as this is a job you are fulfilling on your own wishes and not to get ahead of players by trying to get at perks that do not exist within the staff?
