Articho stood on the edge of a cliff, looking out at the sunset in front of him. A bag with a few essentials was slung over his shoulder and a wad of Zeni was tucked into his belt. He would be leaving for Namek soon and he had already said goodbye to his mother and begrudgingly said goodbye to his father due to his mother pestering him to do it. The hybrid only had one more person to say goodbye to and he decided he would make it a little special.
Articho had told Sasha to meet him at the clearing he was in now. They had been doing this strange run around when it came to their relationship for quite a while and he couldn't deny that Sasha was more than a friend to him now. It didn't seem right for him to leave Earth to his possible death and not tell her something. So, he figured he make it somewhere nice with the sunset in the background and a small box of chocolate in his bag. And hopefully, he would come home alright and not make this a tragic goodbye.

Sasha walked up the hill towards where Articho had asked to meet her. She was nervous and it was getting dark, why had he asked to meet so late? She didn't like the idea of walking back to Benetto's apartment by herself in the dark, she still hadn't memorized the way there and she didn't want to get lost in the city, with all the trouble that possibly entailed. Still, she hoped that Articho knew this and wouldn't have asked her out so late if it hadn't been important. She neared the crest of the rise and saw Articho standing at the top, silhouetted by the setting sun. He seemed to have a bag over his shoulder, which puzzled and worried Sasha. (Is he leaving? Is that why he asked me here? But... why at this time? He could tell me he was leaving any time...) Still, Sasha had to appreciate how romantic it was. Even though they weren't technically in a romance, more of in a... dance of awkwardness where neither one of them knew quite what the other was thinking or feeling. Pushing these thoughts aside, Sasha walked up to Articho. "Hey... you said you had something important to tell me, so here I am. What is it?"

Articho heard Sasha approaching him from behind. He took a deep breath as he set his bag down on the ground next to him. The hybrid turned around and faced her with a sad smile on his face. "Hey, Sasha," he said, giving her a short wave and walking over to her. His tail curled and uncurled nervously as he stood across from her. "I know this is kind of sudden, but I'm leaving for Namek really soon. You can't come along. It's just too dangerous for you and I couldn't bear putting you in harm's way."
He paused, talking another deep breath before continuing. "So, this is goodbye for a little while. But I'll be back and all I'm asking is you wait for me." Articho reached into his bag and pulled the box of chocolates from the bag. He smiled nervously as he extended the box towards her. His heart was pounding furiously in his chest as he stood there, hoping to Bing that he didn't just immediately ruin everything.

Sasha stood there a little dumbfounded, processing what had just happened. "O...kay," she said, as she grasped the box, not quite ready to take it yet. She debated asking the question that had been burning in her mind since they began this awkward dance, but couldn't quite work up the nerve to ask it directly. "So... what exactly does that mean?" she finally managed, putting the question in as vague a way as possible. He could answer with reasons why it'd be to dangerous for her to come along... or reasons why he couldn't bear to put her in harm's way. She was now highly aware of how romantic the entire situation was and was hoping and praying that it was entirely deliberate and that Articho felt about her the same way she felt about him. Still... there was that small chance that he didn't, and Sasha always seemed to focus on those negative chances. So she waited anxiously and with baited breath for Articho's answer.

"Well..." Articho said, scratching the back of his head. He honestly meant a lot of things. It took a lot from their past experiences and the people they lost along the way. This question would probably help him understand what he felt. "I suppose it means that I don't want to lose anyone else and I can't trust myself to protect you," he continued after a moment. "I cared about your brother and Gleciar and they died. And I care about you, so I don't want to see you die on some far off planet away from home. I already lost my best friend to a murderer and I couldn't lose the girl that I..."
The hybrid's voice trailed off. Why had he stopped? He'd already gotten the mood right. He'd given her the chocolates. Why couldn't he just say it? His tail wrapped itself around his leg, curling tightly to the appendage. No time for backing out now. "But what I'm really trying to say is I'm tired of this... run around we've had," Articho said, taking her hands into his own. "I love you, Sasha, and I didn't want to leave to my possible death without you knowing."

Sasha almost gave out a disappointed sigh as Articho began to expain the reasons why he didn't want her to come. Almost. Then he trailed off and her heart started floating off into deep space with the buoyant hope that possibly, maybe... He seemed so nervous. Sasha knew that if this was a novel she'd be screaming JUST TELL HER ALREADY at the protagonist, but this wasn't a novel and she couldn't blame him. It was very hard telling someone else how you felt and she hadn't had the courage to do it herself. Sasha was hanging on to every word he was saying now. She was hooked like she was reading a particularly good novel, but this time, she was inside it like she had sometimes dreamed about. When he took her hands in his, she let the chocolates fall because she was not going to let a box of freaking chocolate ruin this perfect moment. Then he said it. He actually said it! Sasha had to take a second to process this. Then she inhaled and responded, "Took you long enough!" with a laugh that let the nerves out of her system and a hug. She then whispered in his ear "I love you too."

Articho stood frozen for a moment, his face falling in surprise. His "worst-case scenario" behavior had been proven wrong, much to his misinformed suprise. A large smile broke out on his face after his mind finally processed what she said. He pulled her in close, lifting her off of her feet as he hugged her back. He pulled back for a moment and looked her in the eyes. "I won't die," he promised her. "And I'll be back before you know it. Don't get too lonely without me, alright?"
The hybrid grinned at her before it fell away again. He studied her face for another quiet moment, then leaned in for a kiss. It would be a nice way to seal this deal, all romantic in front of the sunset on a windy cliff.

"YOU MOTHERFUCKING SEX-CRAZED BASTARD OF AN APE!" Benetto runs full speed towards the couple before punching Articho directly in the face at full force. "Tch, can't even keep a dead man's promise, can you?" Benetto rolls his shoulder and massages his hand, before saying, "Dang, guy's still got a chin made out of metal. Guess I'm pretty out of shape, huh?" Benetto smiles, then hugs his sister. "Thank Kami you're still alive after all this time. I missed you."

Articho couldn't have been happier in this moment as he drew closer to Sasha. That's when a familiar voice shouting pierced through his blissful haze. His eyes snapped open and his head stopped moving in surprise. The hybrid blinked and furrowed his brow as he processed what had interuppted his moment. He looked towards the source of the noise in confusion, only seeing a flash of green and purple, when a fist connected with his jaw. He had been totally unprepared for the blow and pain rocked through his skull. Articho let go of Sasha, dropping her back onto the ground as his feet left the ground. He sailed through the air and over the edge of the cliff, his brow still furrowed in confusion and his mind still processing what had just happened.
"Did... did Benetto just punch me in the face?" he mumbled as he crashed on to the ground below. He cracked the ground where he landed and remained completely still. He was too surprised to try and recover, so the hybrid simply lay on the ground, stewing in his thoughts and confusion.

Sasha... wasn't quite sure what had just happened. One moment, the most romantic moment in her life was about to go down; that first kiss... then the next Articho had been punched in the face so hard he went over a cliff and now she was being hugged by... Benetto? She breathed in, and yes, that was definitely Benetto's scent. But... how? Stunning realizations aside, it was clear now that Benetto had been the one to punch Articho off the cliff. Why had Benetto punched Articho, though? There was no reason Sasha could think of... unless... Without even thinking, Sasha pushed Benetto away and slapped him. "What... what the hell did you do that for?!" was all she could manage to say out of all the questions she wanted to ask him. She immediately regretted slapping him- though she was still angry, he'd probably misunderstood the situation- but she couldn't take it back now. She folded her arms and shut her mouth, knowing that anything she'd attempt to say now would either worsen the situation or be completely incoherent due to the large mixture of emotions she was feeling at the moment. She did, however, have the grace to look a little sheepish for slapping her big brother.

"Ow! Dang Sasha, you're stronger than I thought, that really hurt! ...Alright, guess I should explain some. First, some guys used the Dragonballs to summon the Eternal Dragon, and it looks like I was one of the ones wished back, though it...took awhile." Benetto looked slightly sheepish at that, then continued. "And yeah, I thought it was just myths and fairytales too, but...well, I'm here, so I guess I'm sort of obligated to believe it. As for bananas-for-brains over there, I told him with my dying words that if he tried to put the moves on you, I'd find a way to punch him straight from the afterlife. Looks like he barely waited for the ashes to cool before trying, though. Oh, he's fine, I know he's had worse punches than from a half-baked superhero. Of course, if I find out he hurt you...he'll be getting a lot worse than that. Still though...you...hmm...I interrupted something, didn't I? Hmm... If it's legit...then I won't stop you guys. Doesn't mean he didn't deserve that punch, though. I'll wait over by the grocery store, whenever you want to head back to the apartment...we can talk then. Being dead gave me a little time to think, and...well, I'll back you regardless. And Arti, you can lay off the theatrics and come back up now. I'll just save the next couple of punches for next time we meet up, get me? You're still not getting off that easy...and I'll see you in a bit, Sasha." Articho stayed on the ground and continued staring at the sky, still reeling from the shock of getting punched by Benetto. It was just so surprising that the punch to the jaw did all of that. He slowly sat up and looked back up the cliff. He could sense Benetto still up on their for a moment before the human man left as quickly as he came. The hybrid floated up off of the ground and flew onto the top of the cliff face again. "Well, dying seemed to put him in a delightful mood," he commented, walking back up to Sasha as he rubbed his jaw slightly. "A shame that he had to kill the mood here, too." He smiled as he wrapped his arms around Sasha again and gently spun her around.
"Now, where were we?" he said with a cheeky smirk before gently pressing his lips against hers.
