Lusca took in a slow breath as she thought over the situation that stood before her. The Grand Elder Guru of New Namek had granted her permission to instruct the Dragon Caste Namekian Helix Crust in the combat arts, and more specifically had granted permission to teach him the Great Namek transformation. Now the questions before her were how, and which one to start with first? The feminine Namekian Warrior sighed as she ran a hand through her antenna. What had she gotten herself into? She shook her head and focused on her breathing once more. She'd put herself forward to undertake this task... she had to make sure that Helix could at least work to defend himself if she wasn't there to do it for him. The Grand Elder Guru was going to teach him how to create the Dragon Balls... a process that would take some time and effort. In order to best protect him whilst he did this, she had to get stronger... and the best way she'd found to do that was by training with others. And Helix had to get stronger as well, the procedure to make the Dragon Balls was not going to be an easy one from what very little she could attempt to guess at it. It would be too easy for the Demon Clan to swoop in and overpower them after the wish granting orbs were created, and hold them hostage to ensure there wasn't any funny business. The thought that the Demon Clan could somehow gain control over the Dragon Balls and be able to wish for anything... Lusca shook her head before she stood up and went off in search of the soon to be Guru. "Helix Crust? Are you awake, or here?" she called, stretching her Senses as far as she could around this Lookout. He'd been taking lessons from Earth's Guardian as well, so there was a possibility that he wasn't here right now... but still, she had to look for him.

[5,800 PL] As Lusca's voice resonated around the lookout, the prophet could be seen poking up his head from behind some bushes like a weasel. "Yes Lusca! I am wide awake, do you require me for something?" He said, obviously preoccupied. The future guru was down on his knees, in a little cranny on the side of the lookout's building, shrouded by the foliage. He was doing a bit of exploring, and his dirt covered hands had retrieved several shiny and interesting looking objects from the bit of soil. "Come over here, look at some of the things that I have found!" He laughed goofily, standing up from behind the small shrubs and wiping his dirty hand off on his tunic. In the palm of his left hand, he held the objects, and was grinning as he carefully stepped out from behind the bush, not wanting any of the twigs to catch on his clothes. Giving Lusca a grin and a scratching the back of his head, he walked towards the source of the her voice. Then he remembered her original question. "Oh yes, did you need me for something?"

She raised an eyebrow as he appeared to be inside one of the bushes that grew up here. Rolling her eyes she went over to indulge his curiosity, peering at the things he had managed to locate... some sort of very shiny dirt or something, she couldn't determine what. "Very... interesting." said the feminine Namekian before she gave a little cough to bring them back to the matter she'd wanted to originally start.
"I was calling for you sir because... I thought it would be best to get started on your training that the Grand Elder Guru approved me for." said Lusca, deciding that formality was best for now, if anything it should help keep his mind on track. "However... I find myself at a disadvantage due to my lack of knowledge concerning your own abilities. So, perhaps a short spar is in order, and from there we can build a proper framework for your training." she suggested with a bow of her head, and a tilting of her staff to indicate the area around them. "If you feel up for it of course sir."

Helix chuckled as his fellow namekian seemed off put by the small silver pieces he had found. He put them in a deep pocket in his tunic before grinning. The namekian shrugged as she coughed awkwardly. "Well you do not have to be so silly about it!" He laughed, "It is quite alright, I do not expect you to indulge all of my ridiculous quirks." Attentively, Helix heard out her idea to start training. She was right! The grand elder did indeed approve some sort of training between them. What did he allow her to teach him again? Helix was lost for a moment in thought before he was brought back to focus by her question, indicating that the two of them should engage in some sort of mock battle. Helix shrugged. "Why not! I suppose it could be fun to try and have a little battle, but please, lower your expectations appropriately, as I am no fighter." He laughed out loud before noticing that one of his small treasures had fallen from his pocket. "Oh!" He exclaimed, kneeling down to retrieve it before standing back up. "Uh- As I was saying, I will certainly engage with you in a little bit of a fight!"
The prophet grinned, taking a few steps backwards on the glimmering white tiles before raising his open hand to the sky. Slowly, a green energy crackled and then lengthened itself into a staff, solidifying and taking on a brown coloration. At it's tip was a teal colored orb, similar in shape to an earth dragon ball. He lowered his hand, and the staff, before grabbing on to it with both hands as if he was wielding a powerful weapon. "I have a few tricks that are up my sleeves, so be weary, friend!" He grinned, and the tip of the staff took on a slightly menacing blue-green glow.

Lusca nodded as he admitted to not being a fighter. "As to be expected sir, you're Dragon Caste, not Warrior Caste." she said as he began to take his spot, her eyes watching his stride and his movements, trying to gauge his capabilities in a physical manner. When he conjured his own staff with a blue orb at its top, she rolled her shoulders before she began to slowly start spinning her staff in her hand. Staff to staff combat... this would be an interesting spar if he could use it for more than just decoration. As she spun her staff, the feminine Namekian would begin to try and circle the Dragon Caste Namekian, her staff trading hands every so often as she spun it, the spins growing faster and faster with each passing moment.
Suddenly Lusca would charge Helix, bringing her staff around from her right, both hands on the main shaft whilst the weighted ends sang through the air. She was aiming to crash it down into him from an overhead strike, powered further by the built up momentum of the earlier spins, that was arcing towards the left. Enough force to leave a bruise, or maybe crack a bone if he wasn't careful. Afterwards she would back off for a moment to consider whatever may have transpired, judging his general reaction time and speed. Not to mention how he reacted to pain if her blow managed to catch him. If she was going to train him in the combat arts, the feminine Namekian had to know how well Helix could handle pain... the ways of the Warrior Caste were not a leisurely stroll, and those they would soon be facing were not likely to let them off easy.
TL;DR Lusca spins her staff a lot before trying to smack the top weighted end into Helix's left shoulder (which would be on her right) or his chest in a diagonal arc before she then backs off.

Helix noticed a slight expression of intrigue flicker across his companion's face when he summoned his staff, and he couldn't help but break out into a smile. "Yes then, let us begin!" The dragon clan didn't fall into any sort of stance, he simply held his staff as if it was a broadsword, taking a few steps back in slight fear of the rapidly spinning rod wielded skillfully by the feminine namekian. He narrowed his eyes, trying to follow the movement of the weapon as she traded it back and forth, and menacingly gyrated it.
He flinched visibly as she charged, convulsing inwards and attempting to take a step away before the female namekian came in for the blow. The prophet sturdied himself, biting down on his lip with resolve as he noticed the slight telegraph of her planned blow. He slightly lifted his own staff like a mallet, and brought it down just barely fast enough to clash into hers as it came careening towards him. The firm sound of wood on wood echoed out, and Helix felt his joints ache with the force that had been generated from the collision.
The sphere on top of the future guru's staff shattered from the impact vibrations. Helix braced himself, knowing that the orb at the tip of the staff was the object he used to focus his mystic energy through, and that the breakage would cause a kickback. He was slightly impressed with himself at being able to match speed with his much more skilled comrade.
As the glowing orb shattered, the energy swirling inside of it changed colors, mutating into an entire spectrum of light as it burst outwards, knocking him backwards. Helix staggered slightly, weary from the impact of the previous clash, and noticed that the tiles within a few meters below the fight had turned into grass, and ash was scattered throughout the air. Helix grinned. "Sorry about that," he chuckled, before abruptly tossing the now orbless rod at his opponent, spinning it towards her at top speed before conjuring a new, repaired staff in his other hand. "Let us continue," the prophet said, restoring the tiles of the lookout to their previous pristine state with a wave of his newly generated staff.

Lusca blinked and groaned, shaking her head as her hand covered her face for a moment. "First lesson... you're using a staff, not a blade or mallet." she instructed, stepping towards him. She held her staff in front of her as a demonstration model for Helix to work from. "You hold it like this, one hand towards the bottom of the haft, whilst the other holds it towards the top." she said, showing him how she was holding her own staff. "This gives you room to use both ends of your staff, as well as the middle as well." she said before swinging her staff towards his head with a strike aimed directly straight down, the bottom half of her staff moving behind her as she swung.
She would try to stop herself just from hitting his staff once more if he tried to block it again the same way as before. "Since I'm coming at you from an overhead, you want to block it using the middle of your staff. Not the top. Besides the fact that I could simply twist my swing around the short end of your staffs top, you blocking with the top also means I'd be breaking your orb, and we both saw what happened last time I did that." instructed the feminine Namekian.
Lusca moved to stand beside Helix for her demonstration, holding her staff above her head as if she were the one being attacked from above. "By using the main body of your staff to block the strike, it allows you the chance to direct the flow of the fight. By pushing upwards and towards a side, preferably your opponents weaker side, you force their weapon to go away, and leaves them open to a jab from your staff." she said, moving her arms slowly with her staff so that he could follow the motions, before repeating the motions faster. "Got it?" she asked him before she went to stand opposite him again.
Once more she went to strike him with an overhead swing with her staff. Time to see if the lesson in this sparring had sunk in yet into the Dragon Caste's head.

Helix's shoulders slumped as he was chastised for his improper usage of his staff. The female namekian stood next to him, demonstrating proper technique, which he mirrored alongside her. He put one had at the bottom, and the other near the top. He nodded as she noted that it would give him the capability to use the full power of the staff. He began to play with swinging the rod back and forth. "I believe I may be getting the understanding!" He called out, and looked up just as the other namekian stepped away and was swinging down at his head.
She told him to block it with the middle of the staff, instructing him of the dangers of improperly wielding his rod. Helix nodded. "Yes then, so I should perform a defensive maneuver like this?" He pushed the staff into the air as if he was doing a reverse pull-up to block the incoming rod, and the wood clanked loudly at the impact. He was successful in blocking it and not breaking the orb, though. "I did it! Was that not exciting as goodness!" Helix grinned happily, rather pleased with himself as the feminine namek warrior moved back to stand by his side. She demonstrated that he could use the flow of momentum to redirect the opponent's strike and deliver his own. Helix clenched his teeth and nodded stiffly. All of this new material was going way over his head.
The female moved back to the opposite side of him and Helix gave a slight gesture with his head to indicate that he was ready. In a flash, the warrior caste came at him again with an overhead strike, which he managed to block with the middle of the staff. His hands pushed the staff outwards, deflecting it off, before he went in for a swing of his own to her side. The lesson clearly hadn't taught him perfect form, but he seemed to have some sort of mediocre aptitude for in the moment combat. He grunted loudly as he initiated his counter attack, his face focused to such an extent that it would look ridiculous and childish to observers. "Hya!"

Well at least he can learn quickly... sort of. thought the feminine Namekian to herself as he began to move her staff with his own. As he made his thrust however though she noticed he was overstretching himself. She sighed, using her bottom of her staff to create a diagonal block against his thrust before she removed one of her hands from her staff, and thrust it towards Helix's face as a punch. She aimed to stop herself just before hitting him, but... well, accidents happen during training.
"Even though our bodies are flexible and capable of stretching to a greater length than most other forms of life," said Lusca to her pupil, "we can still overstretch ourselves, which leaves us vulnerable to an attack." the feminine Namekian explained, before she lowered her staff to the ground, taking up a fighting stance. "Now, we can go over staff techniques at a later point... for now, show me what you can do in terms of Martial Arts." ordered the Warrior Caste Namekian of the Dragon Caste. She held up a finger. "No magic."

Helix stumbled as his rather pititful attempt at an attack was deflected by the feminine namekian's staff, and pulled forwards, looking down at the battle between the two rods. However, just as he looked up from the block below, a green fist was sailing towards his face, and knocked him right in the nose. A bit of purple liquid could be seen dripping down as he stumbled backwards. "H-Hey! That was a rather underhanded offense!" He started off the sentence slightly disgruntled but ended it laughing.
He listened attentively as she explained why he had failed. He had overstretched his body, not keeping mind to his own personal center of gravity and not keeping a good watch on his surroundings. The warrior caste lowered her weapon, noting that there would be time for more staff training later. Helix tossed his own rod to the side, and it disintegrated into grey dust as it sailed through the air, eventually dissipating into nothing. His companion suggested that they work on martial arts now. Helix tried to get into a wonky battle stance, but it was very strange, and clearly adapted from watching warrior clans train when he was very very young. "Yes, I was intending to inquire.." Helix started, "concerning the matter of stretching… Are you capable of the Great Namek form? And would it throw nature out of balance for a dragon clan to wield such power?" Helix asked quizzically. After he responded, he began to try to use 'martial arts, and no magic.' The namekian prophet ran in and went for a kick, but flinched and pulled back, afraid of retaliation. He pondered for a second, and then pulled his hands close to his face, giving a short quick jab.

The feminine Namekian visibly cringed at the sight of the Dragon Caste's stance. "By the Guru..." she muttered. Before she could go over to fix his stance, he was asking questions and beginning to make his move. "Yes I am capable of using the Great Namek form. I would not request permission from the Grand Elder Guru to try and teach you the technique if I could not apply it myself." she answered, watching as he tried to go for a kick but stopped himself from going through with it. Instead he decided to try and go for a jab, which she blocked with what looked like simply batting it down with her hand.
She considered his question about throwing nature out of balance before she came to an answer. "The Dragon Caste from what I understand, naturally assume the form as time goes by anyway. Just look at the Grand Elder Guru if evidence is required." said Lusca before she dropped to the floor, going for a spin kick to take out his legs and try to knock him to the ground. "And besides... it will be only for emergency use. Given the company we're taking, I don't expect you to find yourself using it very often... but given the situation, it wouldn't hurt to know the technique as a form of precaution." explained the feminine Namekian as she got back to her feet.
She took up her battle stance once more as she waited for the Dragon Caste to make his move. "Your stance definitely needs work... when taking a stance, your body needs to be as solid as the mountains, but as flexible as the reeds and capable of flowing like water. Try to mirror my own." Lusca instructed of the future Guru of Namek. This was just a simple spar but it was quickly turning into a lesson, not just for Helix but also Lusca. And she was learning quite quickly that her Dragon Caste pupil was going to take a lot of work... which meant a lot of time, something they did not exactly have in abundance. Even if they trained for each and every single day without rest... it still wasn't going to be enough, not against Demon Clan Namekians...

Helix was slightly resistant to his companion's micromanaging, but conceded as she informed him of her knowledge of the great namek form. He grunted as she blocked his jab with exceeding ease. Trying a new angle, the guru went in for a knee strike, but his robes seemed to get in the way of efficient leg movement.
Helix nodded at her presumption that the Dragon clan elders natural assumed the great namek form, and was taken off guard as she dropped low and knocked him off his feet. Tumbling to the floor and then quickly absorbing the impact and rolling back to his feet, Helix responded. "Yes, it would seem that the dragon caste does indeed naturally possess the form in the later years of life.." He shrugged as she commented on the emergency use only, and how it was being taught to him as a precaution. "The nature of living creatures dictates that if we find ourselves in the possession of a weapon, and believe we have the right to use the weapon, we will do so. For that reason, and for the reason of obeying the natural order, I wish to not learn the technique." He paused, obviously not finished with his sentiment. "But also, you are correct in saying that there is no telling what could happen in our future endeavors, and for that reason, I do wish to learn the technique.." He stopped, obviously in conflict.
She got back into a stance as he got back into his own, and indicated that he should make the first move. The dragon caste prophet chuckled at her comments on his stance. "Yes, it is quite pitiful is it not?" He laughed as she described the ideal stance. "My stance is like all of those things. It is heavy, and unable to move, like the mountains. It is yielding and weak, like the reeds. And it is unfocused and aimless, like the waters." He laughed at his own attempt at a joke, before nodding and mirroring her stance, albeit sloppily. Helix noticed a look flash across her face, and immediately was aware of her thoughts. "I feel that you do not see much hope for us. But do not fret. We have powerful allies, my friend. And…" He paused, frowning slightly. "Should I fall in order for namek to thrive, that is a sacrifice that I am more than willing to make," the prophet proclaimed conclusively.

The Dragon Castes analogy of living creatures and weapons made her raise a brow. "And what of the turtle and its shell? Is the shell of the turtle its weapon, or its defence against those with the weapons?" she inquired of him. "Or the tiger and her fangs in the defence of her young? But in that same mouth of fangs, carries her young with the gentlest care." posited Lusca to Helix. "What many see as a weapon, others in a different light see as simply things that are." the feminine Namekian said with a shrug. "You admitted yourself, that it is a technique that comes naturally to your Caste later on in your advancing years of life, therefore the potential is already inside you."
As he mirrored her stance, making his own quips about the requirements, she made her way to him and tried to begin to adjust his stance with slight repositioning of his bodily parts. "The mountains move all the time, it is just imperceptible to the eyes of mortals, some erupting into great gouts of flame and action." she said. "The reeds know when to bend with the course of the wind so they do not snap so readily." Lusca surmised. "And water may seem aimless, but it is always flowing to its source. It just needs," she said as she made her last adjustment, "a direction." the Warrior Caste said, finding herself easily able to speak philosophy with this Dragon Caste... or maybe she was just making it up as she went along, it was hard to tell the difference between the two.
However when he mentioned him falling for Namek's sake, Lusca's demeanour changed instantly. She went to grab him by the collar of his robes and pull him in close. "You do not get to make that call Helix Crust." snarled the feminine Namekian. "You are the Grand Elder Guru's chosen replacement... for all we know, the Demon Caste are already upon Namek and beginning their slaughter and subjugation of our people." she said, venom in her tone from the words Demon Caste.
"You do not get to accept the mark of death that easily. That is not your destiny Dragon Caste... yours is to lead our people from the darkness that enshrouds them, as their living Guru." she said before releasing him if she had managed to grab him. "Mine is to be your shield and sword. That is the fate of the Warrior, now more so than ever. My role is to protect you above all else." Lusca said, taking up her battle stance once more. "And right now, that is by preparing you for the day when you may find yourself without a protector."

The prophet grinned as the warrior caste countered his arguments with her own philosophy. She would've made quite the dragon clan priest. He nodded resignedly as she insisted that it was simply a natural part of life which he would eventually obtain anyway. "A sapling does not typically bear fruit," he responded simply, shrugging.
He placidly accepted the warrior caste's hand's lightly nudging his stance into a more suitable and sturdy form. She seemed to be a bit argumentative, which Helix didn't mind at all. "You are quite the speaker," he noted, nodding at her continued adjustment of his stance, a strange sense of pride tickling at the edges of his lips. "I can only hope that I am not in a situation in which I will have to use this excellent training, as I will surely not do it justice." His self depreciation could only slightly veil the quite apparent truth of the matter; while not being naturally disinclined towards combat, the guru was rather inept in practice and had a quite short attention span.
When he announced his resolve to commit his life to the safety of namek, he immediately felt a shift in atmosphere. The guru allowed himself to be swept off his feet by the rapid movement of the warrior caste, looking her in the eye, unfazed but genuinely open to hear what she had to say. His brow twitched slightly as she snarled at him, forcefully reminding him that it was vital that he stay alive and lead the people.
Once she released him, he stood back up straight, brushing off his robe for a moment, his eyes focused on something off on the horizon. The prophet focused back on her and gently nodded. "You are correct, it was foolish of me to suggest such drastic action. I simply feel… So deeply indebted to the people of namek, that I was willing to give my life to them. But…" The future guru scratched his chin. "What they need most, the greatest sacrifice of my life, is it's preservation, regardless of the odds."

"If you feel indebted to the people of Namek, then repay that debt through your life's works. Nobody can collect from a dead man." said the feminine Namekian, before realising what she had just done and immediately bowing her head low. "Forgive me for my actions sir, I... I lost myself for a moment there. It is no excuse but please forgive me." Lusca begged of the Grand Elder Guru's personally chosen heir. What the hell had she been thinking, grabbing him like that and acting hostile towards him? She was Warrior Caste, and he was Dragon Caste, the next Guru for Namek's sake!
It wasn't her place to question his intentions nor his motives. Her role was simply to serve and protect him at all costs. That was her purpose... to think in her anger there she had presumed to speak on the same level as him. It was unforgivable... if he chose to report it to the Grand Elder Guru... She kept her head bowed, unsure of herself of what to do next. Would he even want her to remain on as his protector or trainer after this? Why indeed, when he had the Guardian of the Earth's Z-Fighters going with him to Namek?
