Ever since the Saiyan Solar Empire came to fruition, Beryl had been steering clear of planet Vegeta. He had no business being there, and the last thing he wanted was to become an explicit target. The invasion of Earth caught him off guard, but he was relieved to know that the Saiyans ultimately failed and were forced to retreat. Still, the Saiyans were practically in control of the Northern Galaxy, and that bothered Beryl tremendously. Nothing good came out of wide-spanning, grossly powerful empires or organizations; the PTO was a textbook example of why that was. So, Beryl decided he was going to do something about the SSE. His intense training on Aoi Brenchia caused his power to skyrocket, so much that Beryl achieved the fabled “Spiritual Enlightenment” usually reserved only for monks who lived an ascetic life of prayer, training and fasting. Abzerute, an interesting, sun-burned Arcosian, was perhaps the main reason why Beryl grew so strong so quickly. Yes, Abzerute terrified, horrified and frightened Beryl, but it was all of that stress that propelled Beryl forward, forcing him to either fight or get horribly maimed. Figuring that he had the courage to face one of his biggest fears, Arcosians, Beryl believed it was time for him to return to the red, desert planet. The trip took around a day, a day that Beryl spent idly training, playing video games and watching intergalactic television. His ship landed somewhere in the destroyed Northern Capital. However, once Beryl stepped outside, he immediately felt something was off. He knew that Vegeta’s gravity, like Aoi Brenchia, was higher than Earth’s, but the force he felt was much more intense than ten times normal gravity. “What's this?” His head snapped up; dark clouds loomed overhead ominously, but there was no rain. Instead, a strange force made it tougher to move, giving the sensation that the gravity in the area was increased. Beryl knew little of the Northern Capital, except that it was once home to a sprawling metropolis, the shining gem of Tuffle Society. Now, it was nothing but an empty husk of its former self, a relic of the Tuffle’s tragic past. Pursing his lips, Beryl apprehensively started to stroll through the vacant city streets. He didn’t know why it felt like the entire city was encased in a bubble of intense gravity, but it didn’t have any noticeable effect on him. Beryl was able to withstand up to one hundred fifty times normal gravity; enduring half of that was no issue to him. “Initiate scan,” Beryl said. The hi-tech watch on his right wrist beeped in confirmation before sending out a cascade of radio waves outwards. Beryl waited patiently for the in-depth scan to be complete, still standing out in the hazy, desolate streets. The Tuffles were known for their technological genius, and Beryl hoped that some of it was still left behind for him to use. Perhaps it’d help him deal with the SSE’s growing power as well as the trials awaiting him on New Namek. PL — 143,972 [Base], Enlightenment Active. Current PL: 2,303,552 OOC: ROUND TWO. LET'S GO. “In the old tuffle Northern Capital eh?” Mayze muttered to himself as he blazed through the air. He had detected the immense power level about an hour ago. The was a little above two million, which was certainly nothing to scoff at. That was stronger than himself even in his super saiyan form. The saiyan warrior had a gut feeling this wouldn’t go well for him, but he craved a challenge should it come to a fight. Plus, he would be protecting the empire by investigating the origin of this power. If it was an enemy, then it’d be dealt with. As the general came into the city, he felt a great weight placed upon him. He slowly descended until he reached the ground, breathing heavily. He glanced upwards, seeing the dark clouds that plagued the old tuffle capital. Frowning, the general began to scan the current gravity level, attempting to see if his suspicions were correct. It seemed he was correct. The current gravity of area was 80 times that of Earth’s natural gravity, which meant, a gravity storm was definitely taking place. Hopefully the potential threat hadn’t mastered the current gravity levels, otherwise the super saiyan would be at an even larger disadvantage. The saiyan warrior took to the air again, ascending to the roof of the largest building within the immediate area. While his scouter had already pinpointed the exact location of the threat, the saiyan believed it would be a good idea to see the location of the threat. The high power level was in the center of the vast city. Many destroyed tuffle buildings lay in that area. These things were relics from a war that took place thousands of years ago. It was amazing that they even still stood. It went to show the ingenuity of the tuffles. Due to the height at which the saiyan general was hovering, the threat was a mere speck. The general would have to get closer in order to find out what species the power level was. The saiyan warrior suppressed his power level to near undetectable levels. Slowly, he began to descend, and make his way towards the center of the metropolis. The nearer he got the power, the faster his heart began to beat. He was beginning to grow excited, the prospect of combat seemed so much more fun than ever. He supposed it had to do with being stuck on a planet that had almost no one near his power level. Habana was too busy with her administrative duties for Mayze to really train or spar with her. So the challenge that awaited him was the most anticipation he had felt in months. The saiyan warrior landed on a building that lay just about thirty meters from the threat. From this distance, he could get a good look at what appeared to be a him. It was definitely a human, the lack of a tail and his general appearance showed Mayze that. However, it wasn’t just that, that told the general what species the threat was. The general just somehow knew the power was a human. He couldn’t really describe it in words, but he felt he had seen this person before, a long time ago back on Earth. Suddenly, it hit him! This was that dark skinned human he had sparred with on Earth from months ago, before the general was even apart of the Saiyan Empire. If he recalled correctly, his name was Beryl. The man had been much weaker than Mayze back then, but he still insisted on fighting him. He had admired the tenacity the human had, had to last as long as he did against the saiyan. Mayze had pummeled him and he refused to give up and surrender. Now though, it seemed the general was the weaker one of the two. He silently cursed himself for his lack of training within the past few months. The general silently leaped off the building, landing straight in front of Beryl. The saiyan warrior unsuppressed his ki and crossed his arms, a smirk on his face, “It seems we meet again human. You’re that one, Beryl, from Earth. I remember fighting you, you had been much weaker than me yet you never gave up. I admired that tenacity at the time.” the general uncrossed his arms and shifted into a fighting stance, “Unfortunately for you, our two species are at war, and I’m afraid I can’t let you leave this planet so easily.” the general glanced at the human’s watch, “Especially with the possible technology you could bring back to your homeworld,”The general wouldn’t attack just yet however. He was at a major disadvantage, and any attack he took, especially while not transformed, would not go well for him. Besides, he was curious if the human had anything to say, and he needed time to adjust to the new gravity. Which, it seemed Beryl was already accustomed to.

“I’ve read about the Tuffle and Saiyan war, but I never expected that it caused this much destruction.” The extinction of an entire species was a hard concept to fathom; if the Saiyan Solar Empire was allowed to continue their murderous rampages, then the galaxy was, for a lack of a better term, fucked. Initially, Beryl had no idea that he was being watched from above; the Saiyan general’s ki suppression managed to keep him concealed, but after a few moments of observing, Mayze finally decided to reveal himself. The battle-hungry Saiyan jumped down from his perch, landing right in front of Beryl. The dark-skinned human jumped in surprise, startled by the warrior’s sudden appearance. “It’s him!” Beryl knew exactly who Mayze was. Memories of a peculiar sparring session flashed in his mind; it was where he first met Mayze and back then, the power difference between the two of them were immense. Essentially, Beryl stood no chance, and although he was beaten to hell and back, he refused to give up until his body physically couldn’t go on anymore. His tenacity and fierce determination seemed to have earned the Saiyan’s respect, evident by Mayze’s speech. “… It’s you, Mayze. I didn’t expect for you to remember my name. Hopefully you've been well,” Beryl said, visage stoic. The Saiyan’s unsuppressed power was impressive, and if Beryl had to pose a guess, it seemed as though Mayze could possibly turn into a Super Saiyan as well. “Thank you for the compliment,” the Galactic Patrol leader added. He then tugged lightly on his bright yellow beanie as Mayze adopted a fighting stance. The General wasn’t letting him go without a fight. “You won’t let me leave?” Beryl asked. A dark-green Galactic Patrol symbol was printed on the left side of his black t-shirt, right over his heart. “Mayze, what exactly is the goal of the Saiyan Solar Empire? I’m assuming it’s complete galactic domination, but I’d rather hear it from you.” By then, Beryl took a single step forward, his stance and aura still eerily relaxed. “Either way, I can’t allow my investigations to be interrupted. I would attempt to talk this out peacefully with you, but I don’t think that’s an option. Am I right?” Suddenly, in a burst of speed, Beryl rushed forward. It was clear that he had no intention of giving Mayze enough time to transform, whether it was into a Great Ape or a Super Saiyan. Plus, the increased gravity didn't affect Beryl at all; that alone was bound to be a terrifying realization to Mayze. Beryl’s physique wasn’t anything special, and he looked like a twig compared to Mayze, but the much smaller, less muscular human housed incredible power, power that betrayed his modest appearance. A harsh right hook screamed towards Mayze’s stomach with enough force to cause the Saiyan to buckle over in pain. Whether or not the punch managed to connect, Beryl would immediately try to catch him right in the chin with a hard, left uppercut; there was enough power behind it to send Mayze barreling through the air. “I wish this wouldn’t boil down to a fight, but it looks like I don’t have any other choice,” Beryl said calmly, ready to react to whatever came to his way. OOC: Your post made me very happy. Yes. Mayze

“Humph, I’m sure you’d love to know the goal of the SSE,” Mayze scornfully replied, “As if I’d tell you th-” Beryl’s sudden rush forwards caught the saiyan general unaware. The saiyan warrior was merely able to widen his eyes before he felt Beryl’s fist slam into the stomach. He grunted loudly with pain, doubling over. It felt like an entire fucking space-ship had rammed into his gut. As Beryl’s left fist flew through the air, the saiyan general was unable to do anything but watch as it rammed into his chin. The saiyan was sent soaring through the air, landing on the concrete a few feet away with a heavy thud. He slowly began to stand up; it was clear that the weighted gravity of the planet was affecting him, “But it looks like he’s not affected in the fucking slightest. Damnit.” the general mused inaudibly to himself as he stood up. He felt a warm liquid drip down the side of his lip. Gently, he brushed his lip with his thumb. revealing crimson, “Blood…” The saiyan warrior glanced over at Beryl, noting his physique. It was simply astounding that someone so scrawny could cause him to bleed. His power was certainly an anomaly. Smirking Mayze took his scouter off, holding it gently in his hand, “You know,” Mayze addressed, his voice loud and clear as he glanced at the red scouter in his hand, “I don’t think I’ll be needing this,” without warning, the general smashed the expensive technology in his hand. He didn’t want to be reminded that the human in front of him was stronger than him, Mayze just wanted to fight. He cracked his knuckles, “I think it’s about time we got round two underway, Beryl,” the saiyan let out a mighty roar, letting his anger surface. A bright golden light encased him as he transformed. Any ruins nearby were turned to dust from the power that was being unleashed. The wind began to pick, howling louder than ever. Drops of rain began to fall, and the loud bangs of thunder could be heard. The golden light that had encased the super saiyan diminished, revealing him standing with an arrogant smirk on his face. His hair, spiked up in every direction, was now a majestic golden color. His eyes, once a very dark brown, had morphed into an intense and beautiful teal color. His old, faint blue aura that had surrounded him earlier, had been replaced by a vivid and very fiery golden aura. He couldn’t help but let a happy sigh escape his lips. He had missed the amazing power that this form possessed. It was a shame it drained so much energy as time progressed, otherwise he might very well stay within the legendary state forever. It just felt so amazing and made him feel so powerful. The intense power that coursed through his veins made him an unstoppable beast. “This, is the power of a Super Saiyan, Beryl!” Mayze confidently stated, “Can you feel its power? Doesn’t it just feels immense and... all-powerful? This state makes me unstoppable. It’s the greatest feeling I’ve ever felt. Having this power course through my veins makes me feel like a fucking God.” Mayze crossed his arms, his arrogant smile still apparent on his lips, “And only us saiyans get to feel this god-like power. Your race and all others only feel it second hand; trust me, it isn’t close to the real thing. If I were a human I’d be sad if I wouldn’t ever be able to achieve this grand state! It must be pitiful!”
The saiyan cocked his head to the side, gazing intensely into Beryl’s eyes, “Ya know, that uppercut to the chin really fucking hurt. I feel it’s time I repay the damn favor,” Mayze suddenly burst forward, the gravity having little to no affect on him. It was clear the saiyan was ready to get the battle underway. His blood was itching for a fight. A powerful right elbow was sent towards Beryl’s temple with the intent of stunning him. Whether or not the attack managed to connect, Mayze would follow with a hard and powerful jab toward the stomach, intent to double the human over. If the previous attack landed, he’d clench his fists together, and would bring them down on Beryl’s skull with enough force to send him face first into the ground. “Bring it you fucker,” Mayze vehemently said, prepared to take on any attack the human may throw at him. Beryl was deceptively strong; it was probably one of the reasons why he managed to catch Mayze off guard. The quick, bruising punches sent the Saiyan general flying several feet backwards. Beryl didn’t continue attacking as the Saiyan rose up from the ground. Instead, he remained still, observing Mayze with a stoic, composed expression. A trail of crimson liquid trickled from the Saiyan’s mouth; perhaps Beryl popped Mayze too hard. Then again, Mayze was set on not giving Beryl any information about the SSE and its goals, and to make matters worse, Mayze probably had plans of detaining Beryl and milking him for information. Getting imprisoned by Saiyans wasn’t something that would ever make Beryl’s to-do list; he heard rumors about the Knutts Space Prison complex. Basically, once you were in there, you were essentially as good as dead unless you were lucky enough to somehow bargain your way out with labor and favors. “I still don’t think he’s used to the gravity yet,” the Galactic Patrol leader pondered, watching as Mayze yanked the hi-tech scouter off of his ear. With a sizzling, metallic crunch, the Saiyan general crushed the device in the palm of his hand, earning a grimace from Beryl. While Beryl had no use for scouters, it always hurt him to watch precious technology be destroyed so dismissively. Mayze cracking his knuckles was enough of a sign for Beryl to get ready. Calmly, the young adult brought up his fists. However, what occurred next was unexpected. Mayze’s transformation was destructive; buildings and ruins crumbled; thunderclouds brewed and cackled with lightning overhead; the whole ground seemed to shake with the power of a city-destroying earthquake. A gentle rain shower began to pick up, a sharp contrast to the wanton destruction occurring all around the powering-up Super Saiyan. All the while, Beryl observed with a mix of intrigue and awe. “I figured that you were a Super Saiyan,” Beryl stated after Mayze’s prideful, power-fueled speech. “That’s quite the accomplishment. Congratulations.” He then blinked once. “However, I can’t say that I’m sad that I’m not a Saiyan. I’m perfectly fine with the way I am.” Even with the incredibly dangerous and powerful warrior before him, Beryl remained unusually calm and composed; his manners weren’t even tossed away for the sake of combat. Mayze’s comment about the uppercut was met only with silence; when the Saiyan charged, Beryl was surprised to see that the increased gravity didn’t affect Mayze at all. He knew that Super Saiyans were powerful beings, but he never expected for the transformation to allow them to overcome tremendous gravity. “He’s fast! AUGH!” A giant, rock-hard elbow slammed into Beryl’s temple, scrambling his senses. He didn’t even have time to sort things out before he felt a fist sink into his stomach. All of the air seemed to rush out of Beryl’s body in one single whoosh, temporarily leaving him breathless. The double-fisted axe strike had a lot of destructive power, but it was slower to execute than a standard punch or kick. Those few extra moments was what allowed Beryl to get the hell out of the way. Sucking up the pain, the Galactic Patrol leader darted towards the right, narrowly avoiding having his face used to make a three-meter wide crater in the ground. Beryl kept low to the ground, his left hand quickly picking up a fist-sized piece of rubble, probably from a nearby building that Mayze destroyed during his transformation. With startling power and precision, Beryl chucked the piece of concrete right at Mayze’s head. Normally, it wouldn’t do a damn thing to any seasoned fighter, but something was off about the way Beryl threw it, a way that would make Mayze think twice about getting hit by it. To be blunt, no matter how unconventional it was, the piece of rubble was a legitimate weapon, a weapon that could cause plenty of damage. Regardless of whether or not the rubble managed to hit Mayze, Beryl stepped forward, left fist swinging to hit Mayze right on the meaty part of his right thigh. The blow was bruising with the intention to reduce the Saiyan’s mobility. A rapid series of well-placed but powerful punches assaulted the Saiyan afterwards, aimed at every inch of his upper body; it was clear that Beryl was trying to force Mayze to trade blows with him in a high-speed, close-combat encounter. Mayze’s strikes from earlier still hurt, but it was frightening how quickly Beryl managed to recover from them. Improvisation N1 [760,142 PL] Anything in Beryl’s hands can be used as a weapon. Chairs, pens, pipes, playing cards, rocks, kitchen utensils, a toothpick – it doesn’t matter. If there’s any object in Beryl’s reach, he’ll be able to find some way to weaponize it, no matter how odd or strange it may be. Deals 33% of PL in damage. Mayze

Mayze mentally groaned as his double-axe handle maneuver sailed through empty air. He had underestimated his opponent's speed. The human had darted to the right, avoiding the strike by a hair's-breadth, “Faster than I expected. Impressive.” Mayze grinned. His heart was beating, adrenaline pumping through his veins. For the first time in ages, he was exhilarated. The thought of finally fighting someone seriously made him feel alive. He had waited a long time for this moment, and he now he was thoroughly excited that it was here, “Certainly a worthy opponent.”The super saiyan was was about to charge after the human, however, he stopped when Beryl picked up a piece of rubble from the ruins and threw it. Immediately, the saiyan could tell that, that was no ordinary piece of rock. It was much too fast, and if Mayze didn’t get out of the way, it would do more than a little damage. With a burst of speed, the warrior dashed to the right, leaving an afterimage of himself behind. Immediately, Beryl set onto him, throwing a punch at Mayze’s right thigh. He shifted, the strike merely nicking his leg instead. He subtlety winced, even though the blow had glanced off him, it still stung. The scrawny human was surprisingly powerful. The human continued his onslaught, throwing a barrage of powerful punches. The super madly deflected them away, nearly overwhelmed. One strike managed to break through his defenses, nailing him in the chest. He grunted in pain, knowing that by tomorrow a bruise would form. Mayze had to go on the offensive, he couldn’t let Beryl take control of the fight. Otherwise, he would surely win. So, spotting what may very well be an opening, Mayze made his move. Side-stepping a powerful fist, the super saiyan let out a mighty roar, and went on the offensive. His right hand sailed through the air, aiming to uppercut the human. He followed his counter attack with his own barrage of high-powered punches mixed with a few kicks aimed around the upper-body and skull. “I haven’t been this excited for a long time.” Mayze managed to huff through his attacks, “Finally, someone who’s actually a challenge. Ah, this is fun.”

Any ordinary Saiyan would’ve face-tanked the piece of rubble Beryl just chucked. However, Mayze was smarter than that and did well to make every to avoid the high-speed projectile. The rock went straight through the Saiyan’s after-image before careening onwards straight into a nearby building. It drilled through its walls, leaving behind a near-surgical hole behind; had any ordinary person been hit by that, it would’ve perforated them. Beryl didn’t respond verbally to Mayze’s first comment about his quickness. Instead, the dark-skinned human shot the much larger warrior a piercing stare, one that said, “You’re wise not to underestimate me.For a moment, the afterimage fooled Beryl, but once the rubble passed through the afterimage, it gave Beryl the confirmation he needed to realize that Mayze was not there anymore. In a millisecond, he spotted the Saiyan General and ruthlessly assaulted him with furious punches. The punch to the thigh only managed to nick Mayze; despite his size, the Saiyan was pretty damn fast. Although he was six foot five inches tall, Mayze moved with a precision and finesse that betrayed his towering figure. However, would it be enough to outspeed and outmaneuver Beryl? It took every ounce of his being, but Mayze managed to deflect a large majority of the Galactic Patrol leader’s furious punches. By now, Mayze would’ve probably noticed that Beryl didn’t use his legs to attack at all; instead, he focused solely on using his hands for offense and defense. Many saw it as a handicap and a too heavily restricted fighting style, but judging from Beryl’s power and from the pressure he was putting on Mayze, those claims had already been proven false many times over. The tailed fighter was right in thinking that he had to go on the offensive. Beryl’s fighting style was almost purely melee-focused with an emphasis on manipulating the opponent and forcing them into compromising positions where they could neither attack nor defend. If Mayze kept on the defensive, it would only be a matter of time before Beryl forced him into a vulnerable position, and that alone could cost Mayze the fight. Deftly, Mayze side-stepped, narrowly missing a powerful, right straight punch. He screamed, rage-filled, and sent an uppercut straight for Beryl’s rounded chin. Hurriedly, Beryl brought up a forearm to intercept the punch. The basketball sized fist hit Beryl’s arm with a meaty thunk; the force of the impact sent a loud shockwave exploding from all directions. Pain jolted up Beryl’s arm, mixing with the aching feeling in his stomach. The storm raged onward as Mayze threw a numberless amount of punches and kicks. Unlike Mayze, Beryl wasn’t as hard-pressed to defend against the attacks. It took effort, sure, but he looked noticeably more relaxed as he blocked, deflected and dodged the string of angry strikes. One kick in particular managed to sneak through Beryl’s guard, and Beryl ate a face full of boot. His head snapped backwards, spittle flying from his mouth. However, as he was stricken, his left hand lashed forward, aiming to grab Mayze’s leg before he could pull it away. If Beryl was successful, not even a second would pass before he threw a dirty, low-blow punch right for the Saiyan’s family jewels. “I never understood why you and a lot of people love fighting so much,” Beryl inquired, face throbbing. He attempted to toss Mayze to the ground with a quick but powerful takedown. He’d then try to stand over Mayze, both pinning him to the ground and holding him still, before trying to bash Mayze’s head in with a series of strong, left-handed punches. “This love for fighting is part of the reason why the galaxy’s in the horrible state it’s in, and I know for a fact that the SSE has a lot to do with it.”Mayze

The super saiyan warrior narrowed his eyes as his fury-filled uppercut slammed into Beryl’s forearm with extreme force. The strike was powerful to completely eviscerate any normal being, but Beryl was far stronger. The impact from the strike produced a small, but powerful shockwave that sent small bits of rubble flying from the its epicenter. Mayze’s own fist slightly ached from the strike, but it wasn’t anything he hadn’t felt before. A fighter got used to aches relatively fast after all, otherwise they wouldn’t be fighting for very long. The saiyan general kept up his assault, throwing an endless amount of strikes. His fists shot forward with rapid-like speed, giving no quarter to the human. Mayze was trying to break Beryl’s guard with an overwhelming amount of strikes placed all around the body. While this was tiring, he reasoned it might end this fight soon, the general couldn’t keep up his super saiyan form forever, he still hadn’t quite mastered it. If he had, he’d increase the power output even more, but with his current state it would simply drain him of power within a few minutes, and that’d leave him heavily exposed. Mayze began to become frustrated as Beryl continued to nimbly dodge, block, and deflect his attacks. This wasn’t quite going as he had expected, the human was supposed to be getting tired, not casually avoiding Mayze’s attacks as if it were easy. Perhaps the human had been holding back? If he had been, it was definitely disheartening. Either way though, Beryl managing to take on everything Mayze threw at him was still frustrating, and if something didn’t change soon, there was no way in hell the super saiyan was going to win this fight. He had to change his technique swiftly if he wanted to win. “Damnit!,” he angrily muttered after Beryl managed to deflect a strong right hook. Biting his lip, the saiyan swung his left leg in a hard kick straight for the face. The kick managed to slip through the human’s stout guard as it connected with Beryl’s skull. As the human’s head snapped backwards, the saiyan prepared to take this new advantage with a strong elbow to Beryl’s gut. However, his opponent recovered much quicker than he had anticipated. Unable to retract his leg on time, Mayze could only watch as the human grabbed it, and pulled him forward. His eyes widened and he grunted as extreme pain jolted through him when Beryl struck him down below, “You motherfucking goddamn cunt prick bitch.” he groaned, managing to utilize about every choice word in the book despite his wheezing. Still stunned by the dirty blow, Mayze wasn’t able to get out of the way of Beryl’s takedown. He landed on the ground heavily with a loud thunk. He found himself unable to move as Beryl held him down and began to speak. The human slammed his fist hard into Mayze’s cheek, however, instead of reacting in pain, the super saiyan merely sneered in defiance before spitting out a wad of blood. The human struck the general again, going on about how the saiyans were practically a plague to the galaxy. Oh, how many times has he heard that one? With a sudden surge in energy, Mayze let out a grunt as he attempted to throw Beryl off him. If successful, he would roll backwards and come to a standing position, “Heh, you really wanna know why saiyans love fighting so much?” he questioned, wiping a smear blood off his face, “It’s because we were born to fight It’s in our blood, our very genes. We are genetically engineered to fight. Our very culture is based on the concept of fighting. Hell, our planet itself makes us stronger with its increased gravity. That’s why we love fighting, we’re good at it, we’re inclined to do it, and we like it.” he let out a slight smirk before continuing, “And there’s nothing you, or anyone else can do about it. Believe me, nothing will be able to stop our love for the fight and the exhilaration we get from it. Not even the powerful warriors that reside on your home planet can do anything. Our race will not be stopped.”Used [N1]Combat Mastery to try attempt to throw Beryl off. Mayze will go off to monologue if successful. Saiyans were infamous for their defiance and determination; even after getting punched in the nuts and pummeled in the face, the Super Saiyan wasn’t ready to back down just yet. Just as Beryl was about to pop Mayze in the face with another punch, Mayze grabbed him by the shirt, and with a burst of energy, hurled him off to the side. Beryl flew through the air before connecting with the ground, skidding a short distance before finally rolling back onto his feet. He remained kneeling, hand resting on his right shoulder. That’s when Mayze began to speak, answering in depth what made the Saiyans what they were, how their influence and power was inextinguishable and that nobody in the galaxy, especially not Beryl, had a chance of either changing or besting them. Calmly, Beryl rose to his full five foot seven inch height; the look in his dark-brown eyes was one of composed determination. “You’re right about one thing: there’s nothing I can do to change what the Saiyans are,” Beryl admitted. “However, I can’t allow your empire to rule over the entire galaxy. You know – your people aren’t the problem; it’s your empire.”“Besides, I don’t necessarily trust the people from Earth entirely that they’ll do the right thing. All the organizations there have their own agendas, their own goals …” Then, he cracked his knuckles; the sound seemed to echo throughout the expanses of the ruined city. Light rain continued to fall from the dark skies. “You know, when I first met you, after our fight, I thought that we could’ve been friends even.” Beryl frowned; he was genuinely disappointed that he had to fight Mayze. “And something tells me that you play a large part in this newly formed Saiyan Solar Empire.” An eerie silence followed that last statement. “I can’t allow you or the SSE to win.”Then, Beryl charged. His form was even more of a blur, as if he were holding back before. The truth of the matter was that … he was. He didn’t want to hurt Mayze, but given that he was now facing a Super Saiyan that had the potential to kill him if he wasn’t careful, Beryl couldn’t take any more chances. As soon as he got close to Mayze, Beryl’s left hand was already balled up into a tight fist. With inhuman force, he sent a left straight punch centered for Mayze’s chest; it looked like any ordinary strike, but the power behind it was unreal. Just the force of the punch thrown was enough to make the ground and nearby buildings quake and shake. If Mayze got hit, he would be sent nearly one thousand meters up flying backwards. The saiyan merely crossed his arms at Beryl’s response, slightly smirking. So the two had thought they could’ve been friends? Hmph, Mayze was mostly a loner, and likely always would be. He had no need for these petty and pathetic relationships. All he needed was himself, and he would always, only rely on himself. Others simply couldn’t be trusted. Besides, attachments could become… troublesome eventually
The saiyan opened his mouth to speak, the words on the tip of his tongue. However, Beryl charged forward, stopping any words that would’ve spewed out of the super saiyan’s mouth. The human was much faster this time, a near blur to the eyes of Mayze. It was as if the human had been holding back when the duo had been fighting earlier. Damn, how had he not realized… the lax posture, easily deflecting attacks, he should’ve seen the signs sooner and ended it there. Now, it looked like the saiyan was going to pay a very painful price for his foolishness.
Mayze could tell just by looking at Beryl’s fist that it was no ordinary attack. The speed of it alone was astounding, and easily enough to show that the punch was not so ordinary. The veteran warrior instantly brought his forearm up to try and deflect the attack. However, it was no use. The attack easily broke through his stalwart defense, and struck the center of his chest, hard.
He could hear a rib or two crack as he was sent flying back at hypervelocity speeds. He grunted he slammed into, and through multiple buildings of the ruined city. Finally, about a kilometer away, he came to a stop, back on the ground as he groaned in pain. Despite the sharp pain that radiated across the center of his chest, the saiyan slowly began to rise. He took in a few sharp, yet pained breaths. A rib was definitely cracked if not broke. This was the first time he had felt this kind of pain as a super saiyan. Heck, the last time he felt it was when he and that damned human Bing had that showdown back on Namek.
He had two options at this point, either charge forward, recklessly, or he could stay back and wait for the human to come to him. Charging likely wouldn’t end well, the only result Mayze could visualize from that course of action is a punch to the gut, and he really didn’t want to get slammed again. So, he, with a wince, shifted into a defensive styled stance, and waited for his foe to come to him. Certainly not something he'd usually do, but the pain was a large indicator of what could, and likely would happen should he charge forward without abandon.
And so he waited.
OOC: Sorry about not giving you much to work with Beryl. Apologies.

Beryl had to hand it to Mayze; the guy was tough, very tough. A punch like that from Beryl would’ve been enough to kill most fighters in the galaxy upon impact; however, Mayze took it like a champ. After flying back a thousand meters, plowing through buildings, skyscrapers, monuments and anything else unfortunate enough to be in his path, Mayze eventually came to a stop. Beryl waited from afar – using the Saiyan’s ki signature in order to track his position and monitor his condition. The Super Saiyan’s ki signature still rang strong; Mayze wasn’t out for the count just yet. Even considering the circumstances, Beryl had to give Mayze props. Sure, the Saiyan general was cocky and arrogant to a fault, but he could back up his smack talk with tangible results. Now, Beryl had a choice. He could pursue Mayze or wait for the Super Saiyan to come to him. However, Mayze didn’t do much. His ki signature remained in the same spot, and Beryl couldn’t feel it growing stronger in intensity, meaning that Mayze wasn’t preparing an attack or something of the sort. If Beryl had the option, he would’ve just walked away, but that wouldn’t work. Mayze was still conscious and able to move; the Saiyan would no doubt give chase, and Beryl would just have to go right back to fighting. If Mayze wouldn’t make the approach, then Beryl would. Bending his knees for a moment, Beryl then erupted into a hypersonic sprint. The wind whistled as he cut through the air, ignoring the intense gravity storm that engulfed the destroyed metropolis. He was able to cover the kilometer stretch between him and Mayze in mere moments. Once Beryl got close, he then attempted to sneak inside Mayze’s guard, only to assault with quick-paced punches, elbows and palm strikes directed towards his face, chest, shoulders and arms. If it came down to it, Beryl was fine with trading blows with Mayze; after all, close combat was Beryl’s preferred method of combat and specialty. One palm strike in particular was aimed directly for Mayze’s chin. It didn’t look powerful, but if it hit it, Mayze would feel like his legs turned into gelatin, and he’d crumble to the ground almost involuntarily. Beryl winced as he attacked, the strikes from earlier still throbbing and ebbing in pain. Super Saiyan punches and kicks hurt; that was for sure, and if Mayze were just a tad bit stronger, Beryl would be dealing with more than just bruises, cuts and bumps. Mayze

The super saiyan took a deep, pain filled breath as Beryl approached. Mayze hardly stood a chance of winning this fight against Beryl. He was outmatched, fatigued, and badly injured. However, he wasn’t going to fall down and give up. He would not beg in any sort of mercy. No, he would fight to his last breath. He was a saiyan, and he wasn’t going to go down without a fight.
As Beryl swung his first strike in the exchange, Mayze deftly raised his elbow to absorb the blow. He winced in slight pain as strike rebounded. He began to rapidly block, dodge, and deflect the flurry of jabs thrown soon after. However, despite his attempts, a few blows managed to sneak through and squarely land. A sheen of sweat shone on Mayze’s face as he grit his teeth through the pain. He desperately searched for any openings, however, there was none to be had. His fatigue coupled with Beryl’s speed made it nigh impossible to find any.
Mayze raised his left arm to block what appeared to be a normal palm strike. However, that couldn’t of been farther from the truth. The strike landed with a sharp crack of broken bone. Mayze grunted in pain and immediately felt the need to throw up. A fiery pain spread throughout his left arm as it hung limply at his side. His survival instincts told him to run, but that was just the cowards way out. He wouldn’t run here. Instead, he’d do something that he hoped would be unexpected.
He pulled back his right arm, allowing a great torrent of dark, black energy to build up in his palm. Within a few seconds, the super saiyan thrust his hand forward, releasing and propelling the wave towards Beryl. He was taxed immensely, but he knew this was his only chance of doing any real damage.
