Chili Pepper Climbs Korrin's Tower, and then The Lookout
[Thread PL: 17,773]
Chili rested his paws on his hips and leaned back. His eyes taking in only so much of the incredibly tall tower. Blinking several times as he tried to see where it ended, only landing him on his rear as he finally lost his balance. A whistle escaped his muzzle as even flat on his back he couldn't see the top. " Those village people were right, this thing is enormous" jumping back onto his feet the dog said " So people of great power and good hearts climb this thing." Walking around it's base he looked it up and down, trying to imagine it's height. " I could fly... but they said it's like a challenge. So flying is like cheating." Chili crosses his arms " Then I'll just have to climb it and see what's at the top!" With that the pup leaped up as high as he could, his feet launching him off the grassy mound and into the breezy air and above the trees. He lands onto the side of this carved stone cylinder and clamped his arms and legs into it with a thud, his body slipping down just a bit. " Ohohoh It's a little hard to hold onto" panicking he opens his maw and bit into it's side trying to keep traction. Eyes darting up as there was still nothing to be seen. Reaching a paw up and grabbing further up, trying to yank himself up higher his legs slipped away from the smooth sides, Chili almost letting go completely. " Well I'm glad I can fly, or I'd probably fall from this height and... break something" the Zoan mused as he clamped his legs onto the stone curve. Once again trying to move further up, but with the surface being as smooth and round making distance would be trouble. " Gotta be another way to do this." Chili said as an idea popped into his head. Reeling one of his arms back the young dog slammed it into the side of the carved pillar, his hand pure blade, sunk into stony flesh ever so much. Letting go from all other places his body swung down under his arm and around to the other side. His other paw shot out and sunk into the tower, it also sharp and axe like. Chili grinned wide as he swung around the pole of stone his momentum helping him spiral up rather quickly and his transformation powers giving him a much better grip. Eventually the pup would reach the tippy top of the tower. An oblong round room sat at the peak. Climbing over one of the railings he puffed as he caught his breath. His body a bit sore from having to climb, though made easier by his abilities, a very long distance. His body slumped on the floor, his eyes looked around. This little hideaway seemed to be empty however, void of life. Nothing was here, which made Chili frown. " Well this doesn't look like somewhere powerful people go. I mean it's just a room!" Hopping to his feet and flung the top half of his body over a railing and waggled his arms in the air " what a waste of time!" he growled. He looked down at the ground below, the wind was light up here but strong enough to just slip his hat from his head. Chili leaped out further and grabbed it from the air before it got far however, having had it happen far too many times. But that's when his eye caught the sight of something even higher into the sky. Round and painted in several different colors, and enormous. " ...Okay that might be it" mumbled the dog as he flipped himself over and grabbed the edge of the roof. Pulling himself up on top of this onion like shelter, he looked around for the connection to that platform up above. But there was nothing. " Wait a minute! It's floating?!" he tapped his foot against the top of the tower and his tail wagged. He was so full of sass now. " Well if it's going to cheat by flying then so am I!" he exclaimed. Chili lept up off the top of the tower and with an amateurs grace flew up into the blue sky and at structure. He flew up to it's base and spotted the metal ladder sewn into the side, and leaped onto it. He climbed the rest of the way up the curved side until he reached the flat tile landmass of The Lookout. " Woo! Made it!" he shouted meekly as he flopped over, a little worn out.

As the dog flopped up onto the surface of the Lookout, a low clapping noise echoed around the space. From a nearby flowerbed, a giant form rose up. The shape was garbed in a long, hooded tabard, and it's body was shaped from what appeared to be a very dark wood. Standing up, it was almost 3 meters from head to large, branch-like feet. Placing it's arms behind it's back, the tree glided across the surface of the Lookout, it's rooty toes just barely above the floor.
"Hello there, small one. I am Walker, the Caretaker of Kami's Lookout. God is out right now, but is there some way I might help you?"
The tree turned in the air, still standing with his arms behind his back. Now standing against the air, he was face to face with Chili. He just happened to be standing in the air, while the dog was on the ground. "Hmm, interesting. You are reasonably accomplished. Certainly stronger than any dog I have ever seen. Who might you be, exactly?"
Walker quite liked dogs, and had considered trying to get one. Then again, this appeared to be one of the sentient kind. It was very confusing to him that there was animals that walked and talked, and animals that didn't. This one appeared to be the second kind. It was also wearing a rather classy outfit, although the color made Walker worry. People with red outfits had caused quite a bit of trouble in the past. Still, unless he was suppressing his power, everything seemed like it would probably be fine.
(It pains me how short this is, but I didn't see a way to make it longer without A. Walker talking a ton, or B. Excessive fluff.)

Chili sat up a bit as a rather tall form moved very eloquently over to him. It moved very differently then a human, but maybe that's because it clearly wasn't.
Oh it's not human.
Chili scooted back ever so slightly as the thing approached, it's arms or appendages were at least not trying to grab him. His ears perked as, whatever it was, began to talk. However what was said felt rather important. "Wait wait wait, God? No one said anything about god. Is that what's up here?" the perplexed canine scratched his head as he noticed this Walker's very bark like skin. "I was told that climbing this thing was just a challenge, said I'd get to meet... Shoot you just said it, Komi?"
He kept an eye on the Caretaker as he stepped off the edge but stayed right there in the air. Chili managed to blink a few times and shook his head. His eyes looked up at the hidden face of Walker as he was spoken too. Chili grinned and jumped up onto his feet, posing just a tiny bit. "I'm Chili Pepper. I'm a martial artist, and I'm on a journey. So when that village down there told me powerful people climbed your uh tower here, I thought I should see if I could too." His eyes seemed to sparkle as he spoke and then he furrows his brow. "Oh and I think I should add, this part isn't connected to the tower so I had to fly a little bit. I hope that's okay."

Tilting his head, the tree moved it back and forth. "I suppose it is a challenge. Supposedly, ages ago, there was a way to get from the tower to the Lookout without flight. Then someone stole it and hit people with it, or something." Shrugging, Walker landed on the lookout, sitting down with legs folded so that he could better view the small dog-boy.
"As for that, Kami means God. In this case, it refers to the defender of earth, and leader of the Z-Fighters, some of Earth's strongest protectors. I believe that includes two Super Saiyans, and of course the Kami, Bing Gan." Placing his arms upon his knees, Walker relaxed, eyes blinking slowly under the hood. "But more to the point. A Martial Artist, you say? I must ask, what drives you?"
He didn't really move, but an ever so slight tension entered his voice. "Why would one so young seek to become a fighter? Do you perhaps desire power, to dominate others? Or maybe you wish fame and riches? Many have followed both of those paths." It was a bit cruel, but if the dog wished to become a violent, tyrannical creature, or was headed on that path, Walker would have to find a way to change that route. It seemed unlikely, but still...
Reikiko had been small and innocent looking. Zuccetta had been a child, once. Even Komoto and the Red Eclipse had once been children. The outfit the dog wore was militaristic, and would not have looked out of place on the leader of some army. It was significantly off-put by the fact that this was a small dog, apparently sentient, who acted much like a young boy. Still, the Bio-Android was very curious to hear what the boy would respond.

Chili nodded his head, oddly the opposing directions of the tree. "Huh... it must have really hurt to be hit with a part of a tower." His mind drifted into the thoughts of big stone buildings being swung around. He finally came back to reality while being observed. His focus back on the conversation at hand. Sitting on his knees as the treeman spoke and told him many interesting things. Chili leaned forward "Z-Fighters? So these guys are the strongest?! Wow they must be super impressive. No wonder people climb this tower, and the Kami leads them." Folding his arms over his chest and nodded again "Very cool."
Chili's ears perked and he looked into two of the 6 glowing eyes. "Oh... what drives m-" cut off before he could finish his sentence, by several accusations that only produced lowers brows on the canine. He shook his head roughly from side to side, his ears flopping along as he looks back up into the face of Walker. "I'm just fulfilling a promise. A promise to my dad, I'm supposed to be strong so I can protect my mom!" the dog boy looked away for a second "That was before he went missing though..."
His head snapped up and his eyes met six other eyes. "I know he'll be back! And what drives me is showing him how strong I am when he does!"

The tree didn't respond for a second, but when he did, it was to stand up. "Well then, I am glad to hear it. Many people seek strength for corrupt or selfish reasons, but yours seem quite honorable. Just be sure that you do not inadvertently follow a darker path in the name of power." Brushing off his robes, he beckoned for Chili to follow him, and moved closer to the center of the Lookout, actually walking this time. He had an easy, loping gait, body swinging casually. The dog might notice that he appeared to be wearing oddly thick armor in several places.
Turning about, he looked down at Chili. "Well, if I may ask... what will you do now? You are quite strong for your age, and you would likely defeat the foot-soldiers of many an empire with little trouble. However, I'm afraid I must inform you that you are still quite weak compared to many of the titans of this universe at the moment. If a repeat of the Saiyan Invasion was to happen, I would fear for your survival."
Frankly, Walker was worried. The dog was a small child, but possessed enough power to destroy a small town in a moment of childish pique. He seemed fairly innocent, but that could easily turn to pain if something occurred. If his parents were killed, or some other traumatic event, perhaps. It was far too concerning. He was not sure if it was a good idea for him to join the Z-Fighters, but then again, they did have a small Saiyan Child, didn't they? It was a bit embarrassing that Etoru could apparently wipe the floor with him in a fight.
However, Chili was nowhere near that level. Where Etoru was powerwise could easily be called amazing for his age. Where Chili stood was merely impressive. At this point, Walker could easily overpower him. Not that he WOULD, but it didn't change the point to the tree.

Chili's tenseness vanishes, "Oh... thank you?" spoke the Zoan as he followed after the tree. This time he appeared to actually be walking. Chili took a minute to look around the lookout, which was mostly open. Besides the company of several non sentient trees and a building. Their travel came to a halt and Chili was looked upon once again.
His eyes perked up a bit and he raises one eyebrow. "I'm just going to keep training. I'm supposed to learn things I don't know I need" he looked off into the clouds "I know I'm not the strongest. Someone already beat me pretty badly." The pup shook his head and his tail began to wag. "But I'm not going to sit back and watch something bad happen either. Those Saiyans should be glad I wasn't there too!" he said as he looked up at walker. "I won't get stronger if I don't try. And if I have to get as strong as an army to protect my mom. Well I will."
"I'm already on my way since I've started my journey. I've gotten a ton stronger. But it won't be enough if there are people who can destroy cities will it?"

The tree laughed. "Well said, young one. Well then, I would hate for this climb to be a waste of your time. Why don't you show me what you've got? Believe me, I can take it." Cracking his neck, he stood open, his hands behind his back, and looked down at the dog. He would leave his weights on for now, just to be safe. No sense in risking harm to the boy. For the same reason, Bio-Metabolize remained off. He certainly had no intention of eating him. He did, however, make one motion. Tossing his sword off to the side, he let it land on the steps of the Lookout's building, and let his Ki flare forth. He'd avoid using his techniques unless the boy escalated, but the blade seemed far too unnecessary. Of course, it was also possible he didn't really want to fight, but the young dog seemed eager to prove his strength. "I do not intend to harm you, but if you intend to grow stronger, you must fight to your limit. It will either be with a teacher, or with someone who means you true harm." Although the outcome seemed fairly obvious, the tree couldn't help smile a bit with anticipation. He hadn't fought in quite a long time, and while he might not be able to fully cut loose, he was certain that Chili would be a decent opponent. It might also help him regain his confidence. It sounded as if his last fight had been a crushing defeat.

Chili looked up at the looming Walker and nodded his head before jumping backwards. Skidding across the surface of the lookout. "Okay! I can do that!" he said as he tugged down his hat so it shaded his eyes. He spread his legs dropping his body lower and his arms floated out to both sides.
Walker's sword clanged against the sword stairs as he spoke up again. Chili's body stuck in a position focused and ready. "I'll try not to hurt you either Mr. Walker." the young Zoan said through a grin.
Chili jumped off the lookout's tile and flew straight at walker like a bullet, with a little wavering from the lack of flying skill. His arms reeled back ready to throw a punch, his deep dark eyes alight with fire.

Pulling his arms into a guarding stance, Walker blocked Chili's attack, his knee coming up at the same time, heading straight for the small dog. Immediately afterwards, he lept backwards, then moved quickly to the side, flicking out a few jabs toward Chili. His limbs were large and quite bulky, but there was a slight crack in the limb where Chili's punch had landed. Arcing upwards, the tree crossed his arms, and inhaled. "Right then...." His mouth, a jagged crack, glowed yellow for a moment. With a telepathic roar, he called out "MAW RAZOR" as the jagged, arcing bolt of Ki cracked outwards toward Chili. His arms flew back as he braced himself, and as soon as the Ki attack finished, he dived again, watching to see how Chili reacted. It might be a little rough, but it was also the weakest attack he could muster. If he had used Razor Yggdrasil, there would have been far less of a chance to dodge. Of course, he could also use a barrier or an opposing Ki attack of some kind. Ultimately, it was a test of his tactics. Walker used Maw Razor [N1] (8325 PL) KP 2/3 Current Power Level: 24,976

Chili's punch was blocked by a sturdy limb, a tree limb. A knee knocking him in the stomach and keeping the dog in the air as he let out a grunt. Watching Walker vanish and reappear at Chili's side, punches being flung at the boy. Rolling his body the opposite direction from these furious fists. Cupping one of them to launch him away landing on his boots and sliding across the lookout floor.
He got back into fighting posture putting up his dukes as Walker's jaw seemed to crack open. Chili's eyebrows raised slightly wondering if he was doing that on purpose. In a split second a yell echoed through his brain and a energy attack hurdled towards him. Chili furrows his brow leaping into the attack, his arm stretched behind him and in his palm a focus of energy.
Throwing his arm forward Chili tosses out a flurry of marble sized Ki in a tight cloud. His Pepper Poppers knocking away most of the damaging bolt. Some of it jumping past him and stinging his cheek, another arch striking him in his ribs.
Chili leaps through a cloud of smoke. An after effect of two techniques clashing, his stout body popping out from this puff. The Zoan's eyes searching for the treeman.

Seeing the dog exit the cloud of smoke, Walker grinned, and clapped in approval. "Excellently done. You charged headfirst into the attack and blocked it. Just as you should." Pulling his fists back, he slammed them together. "Well then! Let us re-commence, no?" Charging forward, he moved his his fists to an odd position near his eyes, as if he was performing the stereotypical "Mop away tears" movement. His feet were positioned apart, one forward, the other turned to the side. As he got closer, Walker's upper body began to shift back and forth, and the tree's arms started flickering out in a rapid, darting pattern of punches and palm strikes. "Come on, Chili. I want to see your full power! Is this all you're capable of?" It was perhaps a bit harsh, but the child seemed to have a good heart, and this couldn't possibly be his full strength, unless he had been massively mistaken about his Ki. Suddenly, Walker's leg shot up, knee snapping up and shin flicking out in a half-turning kick, the tree's blow aiming for the dog's left side. At the same time, his right arm snaked around, a feint. What would his opponent do? As of yet, there hadn't been a hit landed on the tree, though Chili had only thrown one punch. "Be more aggressive, young one. You cannot defeat an opponent through inaction."

The dog landed with a puff of dust as he caught site of Walker again. One of his hands rubbing at his ribs as he was awarded applause. Though Chili's focus was still set on the fight. Watching Walker take off into a run towards him. The gifted tree's hands shielding his face until a flurry of blows jump out.
Chili ground his teeth and leaped backwards dancing as best he could away from these strikes a few grazing here and there. "If you say so Mister!" The Zoan spat out as a leg sprung out from the tree coming at him quickly, partnered with a strike from his opposite side. Chili only feeling berated by a combination of attacks and verbal assault from Walker.
He launched himself up off the ground and grabbed onto walker's extended arm pushing himself off it with all his doggy might and flipping through the air until he lands on the towering shoulder of the tree. His arm rocketing backwards and then being flung forwards with aggressive strike planned for Walker's head.

He could feel Chili land on his shoulder, but there was no time to knock him off. Gritting his "Teeth", Walker felt the impact into the side of his head, and staggered to the side, pain lancing through him for a moment as cracks appeared in his head. As he fell sideways, his arms went to wrap around Chili, attempting to slam him into the ground. Popping up from the fall, he tossed himself skyward with a burst of Ki, righting his form after a moment. "Very- Gah... Very good, Chili. Making use of your size, withstanding lesser blows to deal a greater one... Well then." Bringing his fist back, it uncurled, the root-like pieces of the arm ending in points that suddenly became a great deal sharper. "One final strike. Put your all into it, please." With a burst of Ki, he flew towards Chili, arm drawn back in preparation. At the last moment, he threw his arm forward, the blade-like protrusions of his arm extending out in a piercing blow. "Branch Strike!" It was a bit of a risk, not activating Bio-Metabolize after what he said, but the tree could regenerate, and if Chili did not possess some similar method to increase his Power Level, the boy could be seriously hurt. Still, Walker considered, as his attack swung towards his sparring partner.... There was an excellent chance this was going to hurt quite a bit.

Chili grinned as he got a good whack on Walker, knocking the huge creature to a topple. But was quickly grabbed up by arm like appendages and brought down to the ground with him, bouncing out of Walkers hands and rolling across the ground. Chili climbed back to his feet with a pant, catching his breath and rubbing at his sore ribs as his opponent flew up into the air.
Chili brushes a thumb across his black canine nose "T-thanks!" he huffed as the treeman spread his root like fingers. Chili watching him carefully as Walker demanded one last move from the Zoan. The sentient plant person rocketing towards the dog. Chili's arms jumping back into a defensive placement.
A powerful charge was followed with a devastating strike, a piercing curling attack of roots. Chili took a breath, considering his options and bolted forward, his speed leaving an image of his defensive pose. The real dog running under the flying tree and leaping up behind him floating in the air as he turns his head, lining Walker up!
