Legal Action - DragonBall Universe

This will likely be a long process, but I've successfully gotten site plagiarism matters resolved with less striking evidence that we have here with proboards in the past. It's very unfortunate, because even though the administrator of Universe admitted they began their project by appropriating all of our content verbatim without our permission, there was an attitude in the talks that they wouldn't be making all of the necessary changes and that there was indignity over the idea of making changes and a feeling of entitlement to our content -- the word stolen was put in sarcastic quotes by Natto, even though he did just that.

Let me be clear, all the work done on Souls engine, mechanics, and guides is proprietary to the site. If anyone can come in, misappropriate content, and leave to make some kind of clone or Frankenstein's monster of this site, there would be no point to ever spend so much time trying to generate balanced content, because someone will just come in and dishonestly copy it.

In good faith we approached them to give them a chance to remove the content in question, but during the course of our talks (in which we didn't violate any of their rules) we were summarily banned without notice or reason and from what it looks like the talks have collapsed.

Please do not troll them, and if any of their staff are reading this I'd just like to ask them how they would feel if after years of generating and maintaining original content for their Universe site, someone with an unmitigated (and unsubmitted) grievance left your site and copied it stem to stern and actively attempted to poach players with the copied materials.

We're going to be moving in this new direction now, but we felt it prudent to let you all know in case you hear misinformation through the grapevine.

Seeing as how the cat was let out of the bag yesterday that I was assisting them I will not try to defend the direct plagiarism that had happened. I know that I was working with Rev, ViPoi and Kaula to remove the content and change everything upon the site before this step was going to be taken. But others decided to go behind my and the only other mod that where working to make things to remain civil between us and banned all those that were in the mod team from here.

I have said my peace with them and they know how I feel about it all. I will not defend it nor will I ask for forgiveness for what happened. I have already told Rev that I will accept anything that he decides I deserve for all of it.

The actual lifting process to their site took place around November, I believe.

I understand the original intent, Ninjin. While I'd have rather they simply looked at the original manga or anime to come up with their system materials, simply taking some inspiration from Souls and making their own differentiated thing would have been much better than what they did.

You were attempting to change the materials when asked, however, so unlike the others on Universe, the staff team doesn't wish to punish you. You tried your best to be helpful.

Good news, everyone -

I finally managed to get all the content right for the DMCA Takedown Infringement Notice (with help from Vi and Zuni). Earlier today I received word that Universe has 48 hours to take down all plagiarised content before they get shut down.

Get dunked on.

Considering that they blocked my access to the site shortly after this whole thing began and I left their mod team. They have not even allowed me to retrieve any of the work I did or posts I had for characters I had before deleting them I say go after them with all prejudice. As I have not talked with Emer in about a week or so. So we have not decided if we want to take OUR content from them or to lump it in with your notice there Rev. If we do can we amend it to add to your notice?
