Raisu felt the ki burn through his hands. Here he was, a day like any other. Of course, he found himself training again. When was he not these days? That was a good question in and of itself, but not one he could answer. The time seemed to fly away like so many birds. But of course, as far as Raisu was concerned every moment spent was worth it. One could not get better at anything without investing time into it. Yes, that was a lesson Raisu had learned the hard way. Some things might come easy to the red-haired half-blood, but natural talent was not enough. Sometimes, one just had to apply good, old fashioned hard work.
And of course, it was hard work to try and improve his White Sunburst technique. That is why his hands were burning with ki; The young hybrid had been trying to refine this technique for the past while. And he felt himself getting closer to that next tier of power with it. He could feel the power of his ki rising when he performed this technique.
It was a simple technique in nature. Simply a large blast of concentrated ki in a conical shape. Fairly easy, really. Improving it was a matter of going through the motions and trying to pinpoint exactly where in his technique he could stand to improve the various mechanics of it. As of late, Raisu had become significantly more in-tune with the inner workings of his own ki. A fortunate side effect of all his recent training. So it was a simple task for Raisu to pick apart his own technique and find where he could stand to improve. Even now, as Raisu focused on what was going on in his own aura, he could ‘see’ where the ki was moving without efficiency during his technique. It was the little things. Of course, he could cure those with just practice. That is what he was doing now. But he could not help but turn his mind to those moments, trying to force the attack through with a little more strength during those moments.
White blast after white blast of ki followed, leaving the palms of his hands like spray from waves. And each wave of ki was coming stronger and quicker than the last. He could feel his ki rising, like a swell in the ocean, or the moon on a clear night. It was becoming clear to him where the weaknesses in his technique were, and he made internal adjustments to correct them.
With one final blast of white, the ki raged in front of him, a mad shotgun blast of power. Not quite perfect, he thought to himself, but better than it had been. That was enough for now. Raisu was quite happy with the results. His heart was pounding like a drum, and there was a pain in his chest, just like the others time he’d been training as of late. Perhaps he’d best go to a doctor, but no. The doctor would just tell him what he already knew: he was pushing himself too far.
No, he’d just go for a walk. It was like when one finished a run: just walk to bring yourself down of it. And the northern wastes were the perfect place for a walk.

In those days Cornatto had been training as much as possible himself, but he didn't mind to; he loved it. While going over one's own limits felt satisfying, it was not easy at all. The Saiyan was used to prolonged training sessions but he was attempting to do much more than what what he forced to do as a child by his parents, his own parents had been forcing him to train even outside during storms, but he felt such a training regimen was not enough to become stronger. He could not become more powerful with his current pace, he felt he had to do more and much more or he would have never catched up with so many strong warriors.
Such a thing was irritating, he was not the proudest of all Saiyans but it didn't mean he had no pride. He could not accept being left behind, he could not stop until he would have become stronger than ever. But, it was not easy. Not at all, it was hard to keep up the pace with certain levels he was not even aware about; his view of the spiritual energy was limited and had no idea how to feel it. That made for a huge issue, most especially because he could not tell his opponent's true strength into a battle.
He imagined what would have happened if he would have known about the invasion sooner and unfortunately, it wouldn't have been good. He remembers the promise he had made to himself after leaving his house to kill all traditionalist Saiyans. "I wouldn't have hesitated a moment to look for one and fight him, even to the last breath.. but.." - he muttered lightly as he let out a sigh. He felt they were out of his league, mostly because they were capable to plan such an invasion against the protectors of the planet. They were probably more than what he could chew. He was not sure how to feel about this, he felt excited to possibly become stronger but he was also irritated of his current strength.
He decided to stop for a moment and take a pause to catch his breath and clearing out his mind of such thoughts. Such feelings didn't help him at all with his training, he thought they were a pointless distraction. "..Alright, better if I take a pause.." - he said to himself before he took off, flying away in the surroundings. That day he was in the Wastelands, not exactly a cozy place but it seemed like a good place for some training.
"What should I get for dinner?.. Hm." - he muttered, taking a look around the place. The place seemed empty, until a few moments later. He widened his eyes as he saw a figure in the distance, he decided to check it out and as he approached the humanoid and his appearance was clear, he had no doubts on his identity. Cornatto could not forget Raisu, he was a good person but also strong by what he had seen last time in the Yunzabit Highlands. He decided to descend on the ground, raising a hand towards the Hybrid in greeting. "Hey, long time no see." - he told him as he smiled lightly.

Raisu felt a familiar signature appraoching. Already, he was turning his head before the man spoke. It was Goizen, the man he'd met in the North all that time ago. And there was that encounter in the ruins of the North Capitol, but for some reason, the memories of that encounter were hazy and indistinct. Perhaps he'd just been working himself too hard lately.
"Ah, Goizen. I thought I felt you coming. Good to see you."
Raisu shook the man's hand, firmly. Now there was another person Raisu could respect. Whatever he was like in his personal life, Goizen had a headstrong personality about him that Raisu liked. It reminded him of himself, truthfully. Raisu saw qualities of himself reflected in so many people these days, for better or for worse.
"What brings you out here, man?"

Cornatto was fond of the young man, he was friendly and most especially he was a good fighter. He thought such things made for an amazing person and he could tell that for sure after their spar in the Yunzabit Highlands and that encounter in the North region, though he didn't exactly remember it clearly. But no further proof was necessary, he knew Raisu was on a completely different level and he was eager to reach him and fight him on equal terms once and for all.
He raised an eyebrow as Raisu spoke, and now he had just realized it was not the first time he said such a thing. First time they met, he was pretty sure that Raisu told him a similar thing. "You.. felt me coming? Uhm, well yeah.. good to see you as well." - he said with a curious tone of voice. Cornatto realized Raisu was still calling him by his earthling name, probably he didn't even know that he was no Human but a Saiyan. "This is somewhat funny, but I should probably tell him my real identity.. sooner or later." - he thought as he chuckled a bit.
"I've been training, man. Just catching my breath right now, you know.. Anyway, not sure if I told you before but I am not exactly a Human. Perhaps you can call me an earthling, after all I was born here but I am a Saiyan and my name is Cornatto. Just like you, well kind of. I am a pure-blood, not a hybrid. Feel free to call me however you wish though. Now that we have got one down, mind to make the entire.. felt me coming thing clear?" - he tried to make his speech as clear as possible, ending it up with a question related to his doubts regarding Raisu's statement.

So Goizen was a Saiyan. Raisu sighed and looked at him through squinted eyes, his lips pursed. Well, this was a surprise. It was not what Raisu had expected when he felt Goizen... or Cornatto coming. Though, it did make some sense. The man certainly had the stubborn attitude that indicated there was Saiyan blood in his veins. And, Raisu supposed, he did look like a Saiyan. Though what were Saiyans but people with tails? And Goizen-Cornatto certainly lacked that. And he seemed to lack the genocidal nature of most Saiyans. At least on the surface.
"Well," began Raisu, "This is a surprise. I guess somebody's ki can't tell you everything about them. And that's what I meant by felt you coming."
Raisu sighed again, and put one hand to his temple, rubbing it. Was that a headache coming on?
"I can sense people's ki. I can feel where they are, I can fell how strong they are, I can feel if they're doing all sorts of things with their ki. Of course, there are ways to get around it. Hell, I can do that too."

He tried to hold a serious expression, perhaps Raisu could think that it was a joke but it was not the case. He took note of his reaction and Raisu didn't exactly seem happy, or at least in his opinion. He thought he should have seen this coming, after all he didn't seem to be that fond of Saiyans by what he understood when they met in the North region of the planet.
Cornatto himself was not that proud of his heritage, not for being a Saiyan itself, actually he recognized himself as a warrior of the Saiyan race but he disliked the average Saiyan; whose nature and instincts were raw and bloodstained. His own parents had died from the hands of the Saiyans after his family's pride was broken by the Saiyan Empire.
"I know I should have probably told you earlier but I wanted to avoid that very same reaction.. or even worse. I am not honored of sharing the blood of a Saiyan with those brutes of the Empire, but I am proud of being a Saiyan.. the strongest race in the universe. But I am sure I told you similar things back then when we met. Similar things.. but with different words." - he said with a firm tone of voice, he was too serious as he spoke, more than usual.
A moment later, he cleared his throat as he listened to Raisu. He widened his eyes lightly, crossing his arms before he offered a nod. "Woah, that sounds great. I didn't even know such a thing was possible, getting around it and feel how strong someone is.. sounds really complex! It seems almost like scouters but I don't exactly like accessories of any kind, I feel having one would be an useless drag. Can you show me how to do all of this? It'd be useful in battle." - he told him and decided to end his speech with a request.

Raisu nodded. He could. It would not be terribly hard to explain. After all, he'd taught someone the basics of ki control. And if he could teach someone like Treylech how to control ki, he could teach someone like Goizen-no, Cornatto- about sensing ki. After all, he clearly had the basics more than covered. Hell, Raisu had started with sensing ki. No reason Cornatto couldn't learn.
Still, Raisu shuddered to think that he was teaching a fullblooded Saiyan. And one that had lied to him. Raisu supposed that Cornatto had had his reasons, but still... He did not quite trust fullbloods, even if he liked Cornatto. No, he reminded himself. He had liked Goizen. And while they might be one in the same, Raisu had his doubts.
He sighed. Still, whoever this man really was seemed genuine. Perhaps he could help him. And besides, Raisu did enjoy teaching. If this fullblood used what Raisu taught him for evil, well, Raisu would just take him down.
"Alright, I'll teach you how. Let's start by meditating a bit. It'll open your senses and your mind. Your mind-senses, too. If that makes sense."
And with that Raisu stooped to the ground and sat with his legs crossed, already beginning his mindfulness of breathing exercises.

Cornatto smiled lightly, while Raisu accepted his request, he felt the Hybrid still had a strong concern towards the truth. He had expected such a thing but hoped for it not to happen, unfortunately the Saiyans were not as popular as one could guess and most especially after what had happened on Earth.
"Thanks. Very well then, it shouldn't be difficult." - he told him before following him and taking a seat in front of him. His legs were crossed and his eyes closed, he had begun to take deep and slow breaths in order to let his concentration sync with his breathing and make his body relax. He learnt how to meditate by his mother when he was a child, while he could not sense the spiritual energy around him, he knew how to control his Ki.
It made him feel comfortable, he thought it was really useful. He nodded lightly as he tried to not think about anything so that he could clear his mind and let it free. His breathing was still regular and he didn't move of an inch, he simply offered a nod once again as he waited for instructions.

Raisu shrugged. It probably wouldn't be difficult for someone like the Saiyan. After all, ki sensing was pretty basic in concept. Essentially, one just attuned their own ki and let it act as a kind of radar. Hell, he didn't even really have to think about it. It was just kind of... always on, unless his mind was wrapped up somewhere else. Like, very caught up in something.
"Okay," he said, "Next step. It's kind of hard to describe. I like to think of it as weaving a net with your ki, keeping it in your mind, and then casting it out, looking to see what hits it."
Did that make sense? Maybe. If Corn got it, well, that would work out just nicely for him.
"Lemme know if you feel anything. Keep concentrating."

The Saiyan listened to the Hybrid's words carefully, offering a nod. Cornatto focused on Raisu's voice, trying to imagine his inner energy as a waterfall flowing through his entire body. It was not difficult, but the hard part was about to come: expand his sense outwards. Admittedly, the Saiyan knew how to meditate but it was not his favourite thing to do in his free time. To do it when he was tired, he didn't mind but enjoyed it. Though, in his free time he thought he thought that he had no time to relax, in his opinion it was quite boring to spend his free time in such a way.
To prove this fact, he couldn't forget when his parents wanted him to learn how to meditate, how could he? He was beaten down pretty badly because he had lied to his parents that he learnt how to do it while he was too distracted to think about fighting. "Heh.. perhaps I should have listened to them.." - he thought, cracking a smile.
The Saiyan shook his head quickly shortly after, he was not meant to think about that in such a moment; he had to clear his mind and he was about to fall into his own thoughts. He regained his posture and let out a sigh. He took a deep breath, he was trying to look inwards and imagine his inner energy as a controllable force. He was a living being just like any other, that means everyone had Ki energy like him into their bodies. But that was nothing new to the Saiyan, the next step was to look not by his own eyes but from a different perspective.
He began to feel something; he had not felt it ever before from his surroundings. It was a feeling of life, which began to shape itself into auras. "Is this.. what he meant?" - he muttered lightly, intrigued by what he was sensing. Then, he picked upon a Ki signature but it was different, the Saiyan's sense was suddenly struck down as he felt an overwhelming energy coming from Raisu. "W-what? I.. is that.. his true power? I can't tell but it is a strong energy.. stronger than mine. Has he always been this strong?" - he thought to himself.
Cornatto had his eyes wide open, looking at the Hybrid in front of him carefully. He was not used to the technique and could not estimate Raisu's power but he was speechless. He frowned, he had arrived to the point where he wasn't even sure if he was doing it right. There was only one way to find out. "I.. think I got it. But there is something important I'd like to do. Raisu, fight me." - he said, in his opinion the only way to know the truth was to bring it up to the battlefield.

Raisu nodded and grinned. Somehow, he had expected Goizen-Cornatto to challenge him. Not only because it was the natural progression of things, but because he had revealed his Saiyan nature. And if Raisu knew anything about Saiyans, it usually ended in fighting, for better or for worse. Raisu rose from the ground and dusted the dirt from his pants. He cracked the bones in his joint and rolled his neck. Today would be a good day for a fight, he thought.
"Sure," said Raisu, "Hey, I'll even give you first crack."
Raisu stepped back and spread his arms, and smirked at the now revealed Saiyan. Maybe he could teach him a thing or two.
"Come at me!"

Cornatto couldn't help it but let a grin form on his face, it was obvious that Raisu didn't seem to dislike his request. And how could he? After all, while he wasn't a pure-blood, the guy had Saiyan blood into his veins. He had expected all but a denial from him. Raisu was a half-breed, that was for sure but Cornatto had fought him already and he could tell that there was no difference between the boy and a Saiyan warrior.
"This is going to be interesting! If I've learnt anything from Raisu so far, he has probably become stronger than the last time we fought. And if it is just as I expect.. unfortunately I don't stand a chance as of now." - he thought. Cornatto frowned, the Saiyan was slightly nervous after he sensed enormous power within Raisu.
The Saiyan looked at the Hybrid firmly, he didn't care about their possible power difference, he was excited for this fight. "You won't have to say it twice! Prepare yourself!" - Cornatto raised his voice as he spoke.
He didn't usually offer any respectful gesture before a fight, but this time he offered a bow. He had seen a few earthlings doing this in his time spent into villages and cities. After a few moments, he charged against the Hybrid, clenching his fist as he brought it up and attempted a right hook. Would he have been successful or not, unless he would have been prevented to, he would have tried to hit the Hybrid with a flurry of punches.

Raisu offered a bow in return before the onslaught of blows. Cornatto was eager, Raisu had to give him that. It might be a fun fight after all, despite the difference in power. It was always more fun when both people were having fun. And that's when Raisu liked to fight. When people were having fun with it. It was no good when people were crying and dying.
Raisu's jaw hurt as Cornatto's fist smacked into it. The guy was strong, Raisu would have to give him that much. Plenty of potential to get stronger too, but for now, the difference between them was night and day. Raisu let the flurry of blows bounce off him, each hurting a bit. But the adrenaline in his blood was rising, that fighting Saiyan spirit. Quickly, Raisu swung through Cornatto's own blows and at Cornatto's face with an uppercut. If his blow connected or not, it didn't matter. Raisu was enjoying it.

The Saiyan smirked as soon as his fists sucessfully landed on Raisu, he had no hostile intentions towards him but he couldn't deny how he was feeling. The pleasure of fighting was indescribable, he thought there was a logic behind all of it but he couldn't find any to sustain his excitement, he didn't need it. It felt too good despite their power difference, his Saiyan blood was pumping furiously.
"I know that isn't enough to beat you down, Raisu.. What are you waiting for?" - he thought to himself. The Saiyan had fought the Hybrid before, he knew he was capable of much more than what he was looking at.
Raisu's uppercut successfully landed on him, the Saiyan's head turning to the side by the brute force of Raisu's fist. It was no joke, it had packed quite a punch and he felt all of it. For a moment, there was an awkward silence, the Saiyan not moving of an inch before he turned his head towards Raisu. He smirked, but the pain was still a thing.
"I hope that isn't everything you can do.." - he told him boldly. He knew Raisu could do much more than that, but he wanted to taunt him a bit, he thought the Hybrid would have revealed himself in doing so.
The Saiyan launched himself against Raisu once again, he lowered down and tried to take a firm grasp of Raisu's leg. Then, he would have attempted to lift him up before taking off from the ground and spinning him around and then letting him go, attempting to throw him against a mountain.

Raisu felt a hand wrap around his leg, quickly. Cornatto was fast, but that went without saying. He took Raisu by surprise as he lifted Raisu into the air and over his head. And then, Cornatto span him around like mad until he finally released him. Raisu's vision blurred for a moment as he flew through the air against his own volition, but soon he stopped. Because he ran into the hard rock of a mountain. Now that hurt. Raisu shook his head and waited for his vision to clear. Cornatto had got him there.
But he wasn't done yet. Raisu began the familiar process of channeling ki into his fist. He'd give Cornatto a nice taste of power, now. Raisu pulled himself from the stone of the mountain and flew towards Cornatto, his fist burning with ki.
