Things were becoming worse with each passing moment. The skies darkened as Maeve's power shook the entire Lookout. Her rage had come to a head, and it would take more than words to quell her demonic fury! The draconic swordswoman placed a hand on Bing's, insisting that she be left alone. It was clear she wanted to run; hide herself from everyone so she could sulk in her own guilt. Bing couldn't let her do that. He tried to speak, but he was interrupted when the demon girl ripped his hand away, moving towards the edge of the Lookout as she once again pleaded to be left to her own devices. He shook his head, a sincere tone in his voice as he spoke. "Maeve, please! You can't just run away! You don't have to be a monster... Just let me help you... Let m--"
Maeve brandished her blade, pointing it directly at the Guardian who stood opposite her. She yelled once more, demanding she be allowed to leave. Bing approached, his hands raised as he tried once more to calm her undying fury. "Listen, you don't have to ignore what you are because it scares you. The Makyo Star doesn't define you, your actions do. Don't let fear control you Maeve... Stay here, with me." He smiled at the girl, but an incoming energy forced him to turn his head. There was a familiar warrior headed this way, but he was much too weak to defend themselves against a raging Maeve. His heart began beating much quicker as he watched Defrosch land.
The Arcosian stayed quiet, simply watching from a distance to make sure he wasn't intruding. Bing's eyes darted between the two. Would he need to send the Arcosian away, or would he keep his distance? It seemed that for the time being Defrosch was staying out of it, so he gave the Arcosian a simple nod as he turned back to Maeve.
He continued to plead with her, hoping to break through and convince her to stay. "Maeve, don't turn away from the light! If you leave, you'll march down a terrible path; I can feel it! Stay here... Please."

Maeve stared down at Bing with her fierce gaze. As he spoke, her frown deepened and her stance grew more rigid. She didn't even notice Defrosch land down behind the guardian, though that was probably to the Arcosian's benefit for she was certainly in the position to lash out. As the man finished his plea the dragoness would close her eyes shut as she shook her head. "No... No I can't stay! You don't know anything!" She growled as she desperately clutched unto her blade. "..I don't...I don't deserve to stay. I need to be away, hidden alone...Don't you see? All I'm doing...Is hurting people!"
She thought back to Natto, the soldier she brutally and violently killed moments ago. While rage had fueled her movements she had felt a sickening sense of euphoria that she had managed to claim the kill of such an impossibly strong opponent. In a moment, she had become everything she feared, everything she fought. ...On some level, however, she knew that he probably had deserved it and killing him made dealing with any of his potential issues much simpler. It was a permanent solution for a would-be persistent problem. She was getting to the level where she could end any and all conflicts this way. Ultimately she could end up saving far more lives if she were just willing to cut down her foes. She could be the world's dark knight. She could be an avenger of the fallen. ...Though, she didn't know if she could live with herself if she did. Killing others was wrong. No matter how much good could come from striking down a vile foe she knew that it was still wrong. She had always detested the beasts who slaughtered others to achieve their goals. If she were to give in to her demonic side she wouldn't exist as a protector, she'd become a punisher. She would embody something she hated for the sake of pursuing her goals. To give up on her ideals about preserving life also meant she would have to give up on the ideal of redemption. Could she really give up who she made herself to be in order to gain the results she desired? Or had she just been lying to herself all this time? Who was she...Truly?
She opened her eyes. "I..." "I..." Memories began to flood into her mind all at once. She could see images flashes before her. The moment she saved Habana from the divine beast's warhead, when she mastered the elements with Akemi, the time she protected the majin Sala during Lunar's nightmare, the instance where she stood up for Zerori, the moment where she met Scampi on the beach and the memory of her sparing the goo demoness from Midas' wrath all filled her. Among countless other times she used her kindness, her devotion and her gentle heart to break past her problems, make new friends, and help make the world a better place. Though she was the heiress of a clan who made their name from war she served as a protector. Did the pain wrought by the saiyans really make her forget that? The sword shook in her hands as her vision got blurred. "I..." She choked, hot tears pooling in her eyes of molten gold. Her hand went limp as the blade crashed to the ground. Tears pouring down her face in a constant stream as she began to weep. "I'm sorry..." The violent aura died down in a flash, the demonic form brought about by the Makyo Star faded with it. The morning sunlight returned shortly after. She clasped her hands over her face as she wept. "...I'm sorry. I'm sorry...I didn't mean to...To kill him...What have I done?!" Her voice cracked as she fell to her knees. "I never wanted this..." As she sobbed from the overwhelming feeling of guilt and regret, her tattoos would slowly fade back unto her form despite her sorrow and emotion. It had appeared that despite the stars overwhelming power, Maeve's will returned her to her true self.

Tensions would rise for only a moment longer, as Bing's words seemed to be more than enough to calm Maeve's outburst. Defrosch relaxed a little. He'd have to keep his wits about him in case everything suddenly went south. With his lack of context to the situation he ruled out simply asking as that could lead to more trouble. So, he looked around a little more as the Makyo Star's vile light began to dim...
Near the other two, he saw the supposed cause of the problem. The husk that remained of the third power. A Saiyan that wore the traditional armor of the SSE, with a gaping hole in his chest. Unmistakably a sword wound, the only sword even present was stained with blood, so it was obvious as to who did it. 'Wait.. That must've been one of the higher ups that lay waste to the other cities considering how strong they were.. A remorseless killer no doubt. Yet, even still..' Defrosch glanced over to Maeve, who had completely broken down into tears. 'She shows regret for bringing such an end to him..'
Defrosch was unsure if revealing his presence now was a wise idea, but he'd rather not get attacked for sneaking around or some other silly misunderstanding. He bit his lip, still keeping his distance, and spoke in a gentler tone than normal- which isn't saying much considering his usual way of speaking. "Uh. Hey. I sensed a bit of a ruckus up here... Got a bit concerned. Is everything ok?" He winced, and knew of course, that nothing was really 'ok'.
Its the thought that counts.

Though Maeve doubted herself, Bing knew there was good in her. If there wasn't, she'd probably be on the attack right now. The Dragonness stood still for a moment, seemingly contemplating what her next action should be. The Guardian dared not speak, for it might interrupt her train of thought. Was she going to run off, or would she listen to reason and stay to work this out? Bing waited with baited breath...
Suddenly, the girl dropped her blade. It clanged to the ground as she began to weep. She apologized profusely for her actions, but Bing wouldn't let her wallow in self-pity. The Guardian knelt down beside her, placing a (hopefully calming) hand on her back. He spoke softly, hoping to lessen the girls sadness.
"Hey... It's alright... I'll deliver his corpse to his squad, and hopefully they'll take him and leave without too much of a fight."
Before the Guardian could continue, he heard the voice of Defrosch. The Arcosian had spoken up, asking if things were alright. Bing nodded, responding in a polite tone as he stood up. "Yeah, I think we're fine, Defrosch. The commander and I were discussing the fate of his crew on this planet. I requested he leave Earth for his people's safety and ours, but he wouldn't have any of it..." The Guardian stopped as he stared over at Natto's corpse.
The Saiyan had massive power within him, and it was suddenly taken away. How could someone with a power that nearly rivaled Reikiko's be felled in a single blow? The sight before him proved that one should never underestimate your opponents; it was something Bing wouldn't be forgetting any time soon.
(Not a great post, but I wanted to get this moving!)

"He's right you know..." An oddly light, somewhat childish voice, that was weighed down by centuries of wisdom chimed in. The dragoness looked up, her tears fading away as the visage of her mentor and friend appeared before them all on the lookout. A golden haired girl with eyes of emerald clad in traditional eastern attire stood before the guardian, his alien companion, and the reluctant demoness. The impossibly fluffy tails and cute little ears atop her head combined with the runic tattoos that matched Maeve's made it obvious she was some sort of demon. A fox demon to be precise. Maeve looked with wide eyes to the girl before her as she lost her words. She stammered, a mix of shock and shame causing her inability to speak. The child-like demon let her dainty little hand rest upon the demon warrior's shoulder to further soothe her emotions. "It will be alright Maeve. You'll be alright." She smiled a warm little smile as she turned to face Bing and the Arcosian. "...I admire your resolve and patience guardian, it fills my heart with joy seeing the Earth in your hands. I feared I would return to see the Makaio running the show... I am relieved to discover my fears were without." She appraised the mortal man with an approving gaze as her smile merely grew. "To think a mortal would be in your position, I would have never believed it centuries ago when I walked this plane freely." "...Even more curious than you is your companion! I've heard tales of other demon lords visiting various worlds in the mortal realm but I would have never guessed I'd see the mortal denizens of said worlds intermingling so freely! I assumed that monkey lord was the one responsible for guiding the saiyans here; but to see one of your kind makes me believe that relations between mortals might not need much a demonic sway." She spoke leaning to get a better look at Defrosche. "Akemi..." Maeve called out as she stood. The demoness rubbed the tears out of her eyes as she moved towards the kitsune. "Master...I...Lost control, I failed you..." She spoke while hanging her head. Finally having the means to express her shame. The fox spirit frowned as she turned to face the demon swordsman only to smack her on the nose with her paper fan. "Stop it, don't give in to your despair. It'll only bring about a resurgence." She ordered before grabbing the girl's face and pulling it down to her level so she could inspect her runic tattoos (much to Maeve's increasing discomfort.) "I must thank you two though, you both handled the situation beautifully. As I am now: I couldn't have stopped her in such a crazed state." She spoke without looking to them, too fixated on her analysis.

Defrosch let out a strained chuckle. "Thats uh.. Good. Yeah." He would remain silent for a moment before blurting out what he meant. "Auh- T-the being fine thing! Thats good... I'll just... I'll just be quiet now." Defrosch stared at the floor, his eyes avoiding the corpse mostly. It was too gruesome to look at for long.
Then, in the blink of an eye, another presence could be felt! This caught Defrosch's attention and he zoned back in to the scene at hand. When did they get here? Better yet, how did they get here so quickly and without being sensed beforehand?!
Their energy was similar to Maeve's, which indicated demonic origin, but something was different about them... The flow of said energy was more directed and peaceful. Defrosch tilted his head in wonder. 'To control ones energy like that... Its... Amazing!' His train of thought was promptly derailed as the mysterious Fox Demon had addressed him specifically. "Uhm? Y-yeah, okay!" Defrosch looked over to Bing with a bewildered expression on his face, clearly unsure how to conduct himself in this situation.
But what confused Defrosch more is the fact that the Fox Demon had thanked him... "Uh, Miss Akemi, right? It was entirely Bing's doing I think. I just sorta... Showed up. I didn't really do anything." Of course, he missed the point entirely. For she is thanking him because he didn't do anything rash and stupid.

As the demon made herself known, Bing quickly turned his gaze to her. She was a little fox girl of some kind, but she seemed so familiar. The Guardian stood up quickly, listening to her speak, and nodding in acceptance of her compliment. "Thank you, Miss." Though the Guardian wanted to speak more, he simply listened. Something about the way she spoke was so... Important. He tried his hardest to place a name to the girl, but it wasn't until Maeve said it outright that he realized who it was.
Akemi. The Demon Fox of Legend.
Bing had heard many stories of the Fox who tricked the people of Earth in a time long-since past; though she went by a different name then, he could only assume it was the Fox who used to be known as Inari due to her beautiful set of tails, and long golden hair. His father told the tale over a dozen times, how could he possibly forget such a thing? But it wasn't just that tale he'd heard. He also heard a different spin on the legend. Some few say that Inari was not a trickster; instead she was a kind soul, simply trying to keep the Earth safe from the many dangers that the universe presented it with.
He didn't know which was true, but the way her Ki felt was a good indication she wasn't a villain. It wasn't powerful, nor was it malicious. It felt very... Mystical. Akemi was in tune with her spirit, and it was a spirit only a truly kind person could have.
Bing bowed respectfully towards the girl.
"I believe it is an honor to meet you, Miss Akemi. I have heard many tales; some a bit more malicious than others, and most of them referring to you as a different name... But I can see by the way you present yourself, that you are not a dark spirit. Knowing that Maeve is your student makes me very hopeful for her future."
The Guardian wasn't entirely sure what to say next. He was essentially starstruck at this point. First he meets the most powerful warrior in the galaxy, and now he meets a mythical legend? How could this day get any more weird...

The four tailed fox gave the guardian a coy grin as he spoke. She looked over him, the trickster's emerald eyes narrowing to feral slits as she mulled on how she should respond. Part of her was flattered that someone still recalled her story, though another part of her felt she shouldn't be too open with her history just yet. So with a swish of one of her tails she thought up a lie quickly.
"My my~ You certainly know your demon lore don't you?" She cooed keeping her fox like grin at all times "Heh~ Perhaps my student sparked some interest?" She giggled in a teasing manner giving the vibe that the statement might have had a double meaning. The trickster wanted to fluster the man, in such a state he wouldn't be able to question her words easily and she knew that.
"The tales you are referring to relate to the Kitsune lord Inari do they not?" She asked canting her head to the side. "Unfortunately, Inari passed on long ago. I'm not sure if you recall or if your stories told you but after her body was sealed into the great mountain: her last shrine as well as her body were destroyed due to human expansion." She said, telling the truth (somewhat) as her current form was a new body so 'generously gifted' to her by the Makaioshin. "Like Maeve is a descendant of the great demon warlord Rakshasa I am a descendant of the golden fox." She said giving the guardian a curtsy with her kimono. "Akemi of the Inari clan, at your service."
"What she says is true, Akemi isn't the golden fox of legend" Maeve said walking next to her (now diminutive) master. The sincerity in the dragon's voice came from the fact that she too was told this lie by the wily fox. Akemi knew her true identity harbored a lot of ill will in the demon realm and in the mortal realm so to protect herself and those around her she often fabricated this bold lie.
"B-but enough with the introductions, let's just go inside...I need some time to thin-" Maeve was about to approach Bing and Defrosch but an incredible fatigue set in causing her to stumble and falter. She fell to a knee a strained growl escaping her fanged maw as she tried to pull herself up."D-damn..."
"Hoy. Offworlder." Akemi said looking straight at the Arcosian. "Help her up and walk her inside." She looked to Bing. "We can speak later guardian if you wish but I feel we should let Maeve get some rest and make sure she's alright don't you?" She said before striding past the two of them and headinf to the interior of the lookout as if she owned the place.
She was certainly a strange one.

As Akemi and Bing exchanged a few thoughts on demonic lore, Defrosch zoned out for a moment as it was a topic he knew little about. However, after giving some personal thought to it Defrosch remembered hearing that Arcosians are sometimes called Frost Demons, more so in certain sectors of galaxy... It was only because of the various actions of the most malicious and tyrannical Arcosians in the past that they were dubbed as something similar to a 'demon'.
Yet Maeve and Akemi would exist to prove otherwise... Much like Defrosch differed to a typical Arcosian.
It was quite an amazing thing to be in awe for one moment, and somewhat offended and confused in the next. Defrosch snapped back to attention as Akemi called to him, finding it rather strange how someone of such stature could suddenly be so informal. "Yeah- I was just.. Nevermind." Defrosch shook his head and trotted over to Maeve, offering support for her to get up and guide her inside as Akemi went ahead. "Hey now. You uh... Just faced a part of yourself that you're none too proud of." His mouth-guard slid down, revealing a somewhat awkward- yet genuine- smile. "That takes a lot of strength. Take it easy for a bit, yeah?"
Defrosch paused for a moment, something was missing, wasn't it? They've all left Maeve's blade behind! "Hold up, lemme just-" with a free hand, he reached out to the blade, extending his ki aura towards it... As soon as it reached the blade, the extended aura suddenly liquefied! If Maeve doesn't object, he would then pick up the blade with this aquatic extension and bring it over, carrying it for her as well.

Bing's cheeks flushed red with embaressment at Akemi's words. Coupled with her jesting insinuation, she also revealed she was not the actual fox of the legend, but simply her successor. Maeve backed up this fact, causing Bing to nod in understanding. "I see. Apologies for my assumptions, Akemi. I'm sure Inari was a great woman, unlike the tales made her out to be."
Akemi requested Defrosch's help; he quickly obliged, trying to help Maeve up to her feet as best he could. The Fox Spirit spoke to Bing, letting him know that they could speak again some other time. "Of course! Let Maeve get some much-needed rest..." The Guardian's gaze shifted to the corpse of Natto, which was still laying headless. "... I'll deal with the consequences of Natto's demise in her stead."
With a frown, Bing knelt down near the Saiyan Commander's lifeless husk of a body. His mind flashed back to the moment Natto's body was run through, and recalled that he had gurgled out something in his last moment.
-Some Heroes you turned out to be...-
His brow furrowed as he replied to the words of a dead man. "Sometimes heroes have to make harsh decisions to protect the ones they love. I'm sorry it had to end this way, but there seemed to be no other option." He gripped Natto's body by its midsection, heaving it over his shoulder. He moved his free arm towards Natto's body-less head, gripping it tightly.
"Hopefully your squad will take this well and give you a proper burial..."
With a leap, Bing shot into the sky. He followed the source of one of the planet's stronger Energies, hoping to find Natto's friend Tomoroko.
