Today had been most eventful so far. While finding anything even remotely valuable in the ruins had been a bust, Kari-Ko had managed to find something even better. She had actually managed to find a Saiyan that not only seemed like a decent person, but also claimed to know what he was doing when it came to technology! And her charms actually worked on him! Admittedly it was a little weird that he was a robot according to that annoying third wheel back at the ruins, but Kari-Ko honestly didn’t care.
The Ryashi lead her new friend through the Radittsu District. After all, where else would a bunch of racist assholes stick a pair of off-worlders but the slums? Kari-Ko’s eye twitched at the thought. Seriously, those jerks wouldn’t know what ‘high class’ was if it came up and bit them on the nose! But it was no good to think about that right now. If the blonde played her cards right, she could finally say goodbye to this irritating planet.
The young woman eventually led him to a large, white, spherical ship was sitting at the end of it. Nestled between two dilapidated buildings. It wasn’t really all that well hidden, but it was at least out of view if someone wasn’t looking too hard for anything out of place in the run down city limits. ”This is it, Sugar,” Kari-Ko piped up to the man that had been accompanying her. ”My companion said that it was made by some big shot company on Earth. Capsule... something.” Well, here went nothing. The Ryashi slithered up to the main door of the ship and gave it a firm knock. ”Open up, Sake! I’m ba~ck,” she called inside.
Shuffling could be heard inside of the ship before the hushed whirr of the door’s opening mechanism sounded. The metal door was lowered almost like a drawbridge, providing a ramp that lead into the ship’s opening. A girl with short dark hair, a large pair of black fox ears protruding from the top of her head, and a pair of glasses slightly obscuring her bright yellow eyes poked her head out from inside. ”Did you find anything worth-” the fox girl began to ask, but her words stopped abruptly when she noticed that Kari-Ko wasn’t alone. ”Umm, what the hell are you thinking? We agreed not to lead any Saiyans to the ship. They give us enough problems as is.” Sake’s voice had dropped to a hushed tone. Saiyans made her incredibly uncomfortable. Not only was she not a Saiyan, but she couldn’t do much to hold her own in a fight.
”Sake, Sake, Sake...” Kari-Ko chuckled in a somewhat condescending tone. ”I thought you knew me well enough to know that there’s a method to my madness. This is...” Wait a second, the Ryashi didn’t even know the man’s name yet! She turned back to him and motioned towards the ship. ”Silly me, looks like I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Kari-Ko, and this is my partner, Sake. What’s your name, Sugar?”
As Sake watched the hasty introduction and slapped her palm to her face in disbelief. This is why she couldn’t leave Kari-Ko alone...

Icarus followed along silently enough keeping up in pace taking the time to watch and scan the girl occasionally. Finding it interesting to observe how the race moved with the snake like body. It was something he wasn't familiar with so it was still a fun learning experience to gather data while in her company. But he'd attempt to be polite in the sense to let his scanners do most the work so it didn't look like he was constantly staring at her lower regions constantly. "Interesting enough hull... While its not one of the local models more often then not the inner workings are usually rather similar. I'm guessing that's where the problem is? I'm not picking up anything noticeable as far as hull damage goes from my scans." Giving a polite and brief pre diagnosis looking for a problem. Trying to remain cheerful and upbeat in his conversation as well. He was sure he could fix the problem whatever it may be and if he was aiding them it would also lower chances of some of the other elite that still remained or soldiers of lower castes giving them a hassle. At least the ones they bothered to recognize the officials to know his face.
He didn't really show much expression at the new smaller woman's unpleasant greetings. Not that he could really blame her after all his fellow empire compatriots didn't give the best impressions. It seemed his disguise programs were a double edged sword. He'd let out a whisper of a sigh but keeping a warm smile and aura of well posture and good manners in how he carried himself. The white coat worn over his body suit and chest plate of saiyan armor under gave the feeling of more a man of science or doctor perhaps. His tail swaying behind him though giving that detail of saiyan like features he needed to trick most the less understanding of the low class. He'd slide his hands in his pockets clearning his throat trying to bite back a chuckle. At least the other girl in her strange personality was trying to defuse the momentary situation. They were... a interesting duo. He had to give them that at least. The woman as well seemed normal in relation to saiyan or human bone structure. The fox ears a minor feature when he expected more from her. Scanning briefly and adding several x-rayed visions to his database where he'd been storing the ones for Kari-Ko as well. Good for later study should he discover more like either of them. Or need to further look into them personally as well.
"Icarus, My name is Icarus Kari-Ko. An you needn't worry about me causing any trouble the tail is more so... Well. Let's leave at you needn't worry. Also your ship is the injury internal? I don't notice any hull damage. An the air around the ship is surprisingly clean for a damaged vessel. So its not leaking any fumes or excess fuel. Which only leads me to believe the damage is internal?" People often liked the straight to business route as he in a relaxed but well mannered posture kept his hands to his pockets and try to communicate with them both a simple and minor grin still at his lips. "I looked over the ships before the recent invasion at least the Empire owned ones to make sure most were in proper working order. You could say being the adviser to the queen and one of the leaders in our research wing of development its sorta my job to know all I can in terms of tech and machinery. So I can likely help with your problem rather easily Seka? Is it?" This one was also a bit more interesting and easier on the eyes. A smaller girl and besides the ears it almost reminded him of home. Almost taking a moment repressing his chuckle as he imagined the little tech inclined girl to have the blue skin or white hair of his people. He tried not to punish himself by considering what the planet would be like filled again with smart well acting people once again. Although she at least had a way of without letting it be seen catching his fancy.

Icarus, huh? That was a surprisingly non-robotic sounding name for the guy, and yet didn’t have the same ring to it as most of the Saiyan names that Kari-Ko had bothered paying attention to. It didn’t matter too much as the Ryashi much preferred using her cute little nicknames to refer to people. Normally it either assisted in helping them blush or get under her skin. Both sides of the coin were plenty amusing.
Sake used her pointer finger to push her glasses further up the bridge of her nose as eyed the man suspiciously. ”Sake...” the fox girl mumbled quietly. It was quite clear that she didn’t trust the guy. But there was still the fact that he had an obvious interest in the damage that had been caused to the ship. He was even making logical conclusions as to what was wrong with it. ”I guess if you’re sure you know what you’re doing,” Sake grumbled as she slid herself outside and moved to pop open the hatch to the left of the main door that concealed the ship’s engine. ”It’s the engine that sustained the damage. Everything else is fine.” She still had no idea why she was letting a Saiyan examine the ship so closely. Kari-Ko was going to get an earful later...
”See Sugar? I told you she’d listen,” Kari-Ko purred with another wink in Icarus’s direction, earning her quite the dirty look from Sake. The fox girl was NOT amused by her companion’s behavior, and was well aware of how she enjoyed toying with people. ”So what do you think? Is there anything you can do about our little problem?” she asked, slithering over to the newly exposed engine and waiting for him to give it a look.
”How much is this going to cost, exactly?” Sake sighed, crossing her arms in front of her. However, Kari-Ko merely waved away her partner’s concern. ”Always so cold and cynical... Icarus is just a sweetheart that was looking to help out some girls who were in trouble. Isn’t that right, Sugar?” Sake rolled her eyes, still in the dark about the fact that the man assisting them wasn’t actually a Saiyan.

Didn't seem all that trusting, Not that he blamed the new girl. Merely offering a humble nod after she also gave her name. Best not to push things forward to quickly. He didn't wish to trigger anything here and given how the saiyan people were at times he found himself in full understanding of their cautiousness. He followed along able to quickly examine the engine once he'd been given that little inch of trust. Smart people to at least offer some minor trust. After all one must give a inch to gain one.
He didn't appear to be doing anything but looking at it at first. Placing a hand to his chin as if in a thinking posture looking to be in a casual focus. His eyes however were working on a digital level. Scanning the engine breaking it down in scans and schematics. Looking for irregularities as well as running simulations of how it should run given the type of parts and quality it was. All these programs were running at once and completed in about the time it would take someone to decide what they'd want for lunch after opening the fridge. Within a matter of moments he could tell you how to take it apart put it back together and make it run several times better. IF all the parts had been in fine order. "Part of the core is cracked. At the center of the engine. As well as one of the power regulators. So for one your core isn't generating power... AS well as with a crack that close to it if you'd tried to start it too many times like this its also at a risk of implosion which would lead to a resulting explosion. As for the regulator even if you somehow got it on and didn't manage to blow up it wouldn't know where to send what power where. Not really all that hard of a fix. Just hard to identify given the location of the problems. Even the most skilled mechanic would have missed it till all other problems were ruled out." Not bothering to consider that simply by looking from their perspective he shouldn't have been able to figure that out. The core required several other layers and parts to be taken apart to even get to it. The regulator near it as well connected to a side port of the core. His diagnostic as well was tried to be watered down with a hint of softness in his ending words as to not make it seem embarrassing giving how easily he identified the cause.
They brought up cost and he didn't really expect them to have all that much coin. The woman was scavenging when he'd first seen her after all in a lost then sterile environment. So if he had to guess that in itself was for the possible repair funds. The work itself wasn't exactly difficult the part however. Well that would depend if they had a spare. A pods perhaps would work as a replacement but it would only be temporary and they seemed the type who knew how to scrounge when they needed too. Likely some skill in salvage to he hoped given how he'd first located her. Giving her a shrug at first but still staring at the engine only looking at it as he diagnosed possible other problems. "Cost is difficult to say. The core for a ship this size wouldn't be cheap. As well as even more so if you'd desire a good one. A pod's could be made to work for a limited time you just won't be reaching top speeds any time soon. An it would only have the life span of about ten percent compared to the actual core size you'd normally need. The reduced life span from the massive overworking it would be doing. I suppose really if you had a spare that could work but if you haven't any coin a jury rigged pod or trashed ships core could work too. Assuming you are fine with temporary until funds come your way to replace it? The power regulator simply needs a little readjusting when the core is fix. That doesn't actually need any new parts itself." Smiling and calmly nodding at Kari-Ko as she slithered near the engine. This was by far the most interesting pair he'd seen in some time. Fox ears, and snake tails... You didn't normally get that on Vegeta. Or at least not so far as he'd seen. It was... pleasant. To say the least.
"As for... personal fee. I have no real need for coin at present. But I would like to be privy perhaps to some if any information you have that may be of use? I deal more in information then money you see. Which can sometimes be given more easily then coin after all. I have little information on your... and forgive me if it sounds strange. But your species. The reptile and snake like body of the lovely Kari-Ko fascinates me. The fangs I can't get a proper read on... Do they hold venom? As well as the inner temperature regulators of your body, The seem relative to cold blooded creatures. I'd very much like to gain access to any information you have of your home world? Perhaps something on data file if you have it? A oral telling would suffice to but I often find physical or digital files are better to deal with." His medical scans still keeping up asking questions and poking for what he wanted. Once again simply overlooking the fact they'd likely be curious how he simply kept deducing or figuring out all this on his own. He was so used to at this point people simply knowing he had some form of scanning ability or information most every little thing it was just natural for him to know allot if not more then you did. "Sake appears more a kin to humans... Perhaps tailless saiyans. But the ears throw me for a loop. I'm assuming given your size and comparison to similar animal ears yours must work on quite the scale... I'd almost love to put a proper hearing test to see exactly how superior they function to similar animal styles. I'm not picking up anything else but I feel there is more to the mystery of your own lineage and race as well possibly? Something that isn't simply genetic or biological?" Bringing up medical and physically she seemed repetitively similar to known races already. This made her less interesting physically... AT least under the skin level. Trying to divert his thoughts from such things as soon as it started. But on his clean mind still desiring to know possible other information of a new race he had now encountered. All information was valuable and sometimes a species culture and ways could be just as enlightening as their chemical make up.

”That much I knew. It’s getting my hands on the parts that’s the problem,” Sake grumbled as she kept watch over Icarus. Even she had to admit that it was awfully impressive to be able to gather that much in so little time. She had to squeeze herself into the engine compartment and spend the better part of an hour just taking everything apart. Still, even if it took her a lot longer to inspect, she knew what the problem had been. One of the things that Sake had refused to leave Earth without was knowledge about the ship she would be travelling in, down to even its most miniscule part. She may not have been an expert on ships in general as she hadn’t found many books to devour about space travel other than what was on Earth, but she knew her ship like the back of her hand. ”I’m not sure what all Kari-Ko told you, but as for money, I’ve got... some,” Sake began to speak, shooting another dirty look over to the Ryashi. She didn’t want to go into specifics just in case this guy wasn’t as trustworthy as her companion seemed to think. ”Temporary isn’t I’ve been making progress towards the parts we need. It’s just a slow process since we also need to eat. She’s just being impatient.”Kari-Ko had been staying fairly quiet up until this point. The conversation had been about the inner workings of the ship, so nothing she was knowledgeable about or even really cared about. ”Oh, don’t be like that. You want off of this planet just as much as I do. I was just asking Sugar here if he knew where to get some parts at a discount,” she spoke nonchalantly. ”And of course I’m getting impatient. I’m good at punching things and being eye-candy. Neither of these things have been of much use here so far, and we’ve been here forever!” The two women narrowed their eyes at one another, staring each other down. It was quite clear that they had butted heads over this matter more than once in the past from their behavior. The now-silent squabble was interrupted by Icarus’s request for information. ”Hmmhmmhmm... Of course, Sugar. We Ryashi aren’t venomous at all. That means there’s nothing dangerous about a bite or two~♥” Kari-Ko purred while running her nails through a few stands of her blonde hair. ”And you’re right about us being cold blooded. Cold places aren’t comfortable at all. That’s why our home planet, Appodorra, is such a perfect place for us. I wouldn’t recommend visiting if you don’t like sun. I’m actually kind of surprised you haven’t heard about it. It’s a pretty popular tourist spot.”Meanwhile, Sake had cocked her head to the side and was looking rather confused about Icarus’s assessment of her. ”Tailless?” she repeated quietly. The fox girl glanced behind her to only then realize that her tail had been reflexively shoved up into her tunic. She couldn’t help it! Saiyans made her uneasy. ”I guess I’m close to a human; I’m from Earth and all. My kind tend to be more... annoying than humans, but there’s nothing unnatural about we fox folk.” As she spoke, she gently pulled her tail free of her clothing and was working on smoothing out her ruffled fur. ”I don’t know what kind of tests you have in mind, but I’m not interested.””So, how about it Sugar? Do you know of a place where we the parts we need are more affordable? I’m sure that information would be child’s play for someone who works directly for royalty and happens to be mechanical himself.” Kari-Ko didn’t mind answering any more of his questions if he had any. It involved talking about herself, after all. For now though she figured she would get business out of the way. That was the entire reason she had brought him back to the ship and risked hours of Sake’s bitching over. At the mention of the word ‘mechanical’, Sake’s ears perked up. It was the first time that it was mentioned that Icarus may not have been what he appeared to be. The fox girl stayed quiet, still busying herself with smoothing out the fur on her tail. However, she was not studying his form with a lot more interest trying to find little hints of the man being non-organic. Him being mechanical would certainly explain a lot... They wanted only the proper parts it seemed. He had originally expected they'd rather have been gone and off this planet as quick as they'd come. Better quality though engine parts were obviously the better choice but returning war parties may not have been the most pleasant to non saiyans given the recent troubles of earth. Although perhaps these wayward wanderers weren't yet privy to the knowledge of what had happened in the clash of empire and planetary protection forces of earth. Hopefully such things wouldn't hinder such interesting company. He did let out a light sigh his hands slipping into his pockets and fidgeting lightly. Most vendors with high class parts were elite merchants or slaves running shops for high mid class warriors. Slaves wouldn't dare cut prices and dealing with elites directly when selling to non saiyans would likely only lead to jacking up the price for unfair negotiations. He'd slip a hand from his pocket scratching at his chin briefly trying to consider things.
"Fair enough... There are some vendors but getting better class parts might be difficult. At least for... forgive me for needing to say so but at least for aliens to this planet. Not all saiyans deal as fairly with new comers as they would with others within the empire itself and their fellow saiyan brethren. I could perhaps procure what you need though if you have at least fairly enough or close to the sum. They would... be respectful, Fair when dealing with me. A pleasant perk of position you might call it." Of course he expected the idea of being trusted with funds to raise open a whole other can of worms but as long as they still had a dialogue forming there was at least hope for progress. But did from his other pocket pull out a small data-stick. Something to hold funds for quick easy transfers and purchases.
But he found himself merely blinking and watching as the women had a bit of a stare off. They seemed to have interesting way of getting along. If not for his mechanical workings an control on his emotions he may have looked a bit more nervous. The benefits of having mechanical control to ones emotions. He did find it amusing mentioning her ways of eye candy. Keeping to himself that the more intellectual lovelies such as her companion would have worked better on someone like him. But he'd rather not further arm them until he possibly got a answer on his idea for payment. chuckling a little as he kept watching them as well. Finding it rather amusing to see their talks unfold.
But he cleared his throat at the idea of her bites... She did like to keep that up. Keeping his breathing calm trying not to give on if any of her little flirtatious notions had effect on him. Trying to keep up the more calm an well mannered posture as he usually kept. Masking any possible intrigue he had in that regard. However some of his internal programs still had a small blush appearing at his cheeks. Certain things emotion wise and feelings would always occur to keep him who he was. From crossing to far beyond the line of android and Tuffle. He never wanted to accidentally allow himself to lose too much emotion and became as cold and calculating as some of his computers. "Appodorra. Interesting. An well the sun doesn't really bother me. Cold temperatures of extreme degree as well as heat have little effect. As long as of course we aren't talking about degrees that can melt steel and iron of course? Although. Heh I assume degrees of that nature would render it inhabitable so I only jest in that regard." Turning his attention briefly back to the girl as his mind had already send a digital link of this planet and the race information to run searches through the database. Perhaps the stolen arcosian data as well would offer more answers. All he needed was a few key details and his resources could do the rest of the work with relative ease.
Although when he saw the fox tail and his eyes drifted from Kari-Ko back to Sake only briefly that glint of interested would appear in his eyes. Although he always quickly knew how to hide it. Readily masking intentions and feelings as to not give anything away and always remain a step ahead of people. "Well... I suppose that's fair. I wouldn't try to force anything on you of course. An earth you say? I had some speculations but... Well it might not exactly be the safest place here given the empires recent... bungle,? Perhaps might be the word? I'm not exactly sure earth is the most happy with us at the moment and as you can imagine people from earth may not be to safe here either when the war parties return. I really wouldn't like such a lovely clever mind to come to harm." Speaking politely and naturally calm. However overlooking he'd let a little compliment slip. "If you can exchange the credits to one of my own servers I could perhaps have something delivered quickly. I wouldn't want to risk accidental confrontation soon if other saiyans don't take kindly to things." As for the mechanical comment... Such things did slip now and again. However recent evidence had only kept allowing more and more to discover his secrets so keeping it to hidden at this point would just appear futile. The smarter move was to perhaps be more open with the information. Blushing a bit when he realized the fox was looking at him. Brushing at her tail but he tried not to let it faze him. His tail securing around his waist as to not let it appear to be tensing. "Mechanical to a degree you might say as well. My mind,... Well I am still me. Just in a new body as you might say. Its a rather long and complicated story. Although being synthetic does have its advantages... Although that being said. It doesn't mean I don't have the ability to also engage in organic pleasures and luxuries as well." It was a interesting topic but he often had so few to discuss it with. He could feel emotion just like before he became this, He had his imagination his feelings of pain. He could eat and sleep if he so chose as well as even breed as his body replicated his original organic DNA to such a perfection it would almost be improper to call it clone genetics and not just his own. The body he was in essentially to give him the benefits of the synthetic world while also allowing him to remain Tuffle.

”Sounds handy,” Sake replied rather flatly. Perhaps she was just being cynical, but she still didn’t trust this Icarus fellow. Him not being an organic being was intriguing and all, but she didn’t get by on Vegeta for as long as she did by trusting everybody with an odd quirk. He hadn’t stated outright that he wanted them to entrust their money to him and he would go fetch them what they needed, but it was being implied rather heavily. That was probably what the device he had just pulled out of his pocket was for. To be honest, he would have had the same chance of convincing her of that as one of those guys claiming to be foreign royalty and insisting that they needed her banking information for whatever reason.
”Oh my, you must be quite durable then,” Kari-Ko remarked playfully. She didn’t move from her position leaning against the ship, but she continued to toy with Icarus by licking her upper lip in a quick, swiping motion. How could she resist teasing him like that when not only was he still blushing, but he also appeared to be awkwardly fighting a reaction to her display. It was too adorable to pass up.
As Kari-Ko was still giggling to herself over Icarus’s reaction to her flirting, Sake’s ears perked up as he spoke about recent events involving Earth. ”’War parties’?” she repeated, squinting her eyes at the man. The fox girl had been pretty good at avoiding any sort of news or idle chatter since they had arrived on Vegeta. It hadn’t been all that difficult since she was naturally reclusive and only ventured from the ship in order to take a job here or there that required her skillset. With that being the case, she had willingly been kept in the dark about current happenings with the Saiyans. ”What do you mean by ‘war parties’? What the hell happened to Earth?” Perhaps that answer was obvious. These were Saiyans that they were talking about, and from what she knew they only sent out war parties for one specific thing. However, she needed to hear with her own to ears what Icarus had meant by that. She had family there, after all. That family was annoying beyond belief, but they were still family. She didn’t care about the compliment that had slipped out. She didn’t even really care about getting the ship fixed at the moment. Right now it was all about getting answers.
Kari-Ko tilted her head as she observed Sake get worked up about this new information. Yikes; that didn’t happen very often. ”So... You’re only part robot then?” the Ryashi spoke up after a brief, yet awkward pause in an attempt to lighten the mood. ”That must be a relief. I’m not sure if I would want to keep going as a partially mechanical person if all of the fun stuff in life was taken away. Isn’t that right, Sake?” Kari-Ko looked back over to her companion after her attempt to drag her into the conversation. However, all the fox girl continued to do was stare down the man in front of them as she awaited her answers. It was probably a good thing she wasn’t much of a fighter, or she’d likely be debating attempting to rip Icarus to shreds.

He could still feel distrust in the air. He expected it though the odd part was that uneasy feeling he felt. The lightly heating sensation his core did to mimic organics as the lovely Kari-ko liked her lips in her jests. Icarus clearing his throat as some of the light flirtations were getting hard to ignore. He may have been a synthetic but he still felt like a organic in many ways. As well as felt the emotions and desires that that all implied. He'd place a hand to his mouth coughing into it. Figuring from the sound of things he should answer the fox ears girl first. He could more then relate to wanting to know of ones own people after hearing of a war. His days of awakening reminded him of that all too well.
"I suppose you'll find out soon enough if you don't get your shipped fixed fast enough. Earth was recently under siege by the Saiyan Empire. While in the end I believe we were forced to withdraw... Some of us more whole then others. I believe earth suffered many scars as the battlefield itself was the cities of earth. I'm sorry to tell you though I don't have any exactly reports or status updates on how earth is at present or after the end of the war. I myself only have so much data leading up to a certain... undesirable lapse in judgement when it comes to information gathering." Not wanting to bring up the fact his emotions had gotten the better of him and he'd died for it. As well as trying to elude to inform of his own part in the war. After all he had no desire to turn this small ship interior into a possible battleground with triggered emotions.
Quickly turning to the lovely Kari-Ko. Trying to hold back the desire to blush. Damn woman had kept her subtle ways and now even had his gentlemen eyes drifting over her... assets. He was lightly trying to hold his posture but had that look of one resisting the feelings he was getting from it. "I am not necessarily mechanical... Well I have some inner workings that are related to machines. But most my body is synthetic, About sixty percent. An I will inform you I can do anything a organic can do still as well. I can sleep, eat, breed, feel and understand all emotions. I am essentially the same I was before all this now just more improved with this new body." Taking a moment to look towards Sake. Feeling those eyes like daggers on him.

Sake narrowed her eyes, watching Icarus intently as he gave his explanation. Again, it was quite obvious what the intentions of a war party would be, but there was an odd sense of denial that the fox girl had been clinging to until what details were known were actually said out loud. Earth had been attacked. It sounds like its forces had come away victorious, but that didn’t mean that there wouldn’t have been casualties involved. She hadn’t thought there would be something that could make her dislike being on Vegeta any more than she already did. It looked like she was wrong.
The fox girl brought her hand up to her left temple and slowly massaged it, trying to banish the oncoming headache that was rearing its ugly head. Shit... She really didn’t want to do what she knew she had to do. However, she knew very well that she wouldn’t be able to rest if she didn’t go and make sure her siblings were alright. As much as the thought irritated her, it was time to make a trip back to Earth.
Kari-Ko was still cringing internally from the mood whiplash. It wasn’t often that she saw her companion in such a state. When it did happen, it generally mean bad things were right around the corner. The Ryashi would just have to play it cool for now. ”I guess that would explain why your face is so red, Sugar,” Kari-Ko chuckled lightly at how flustered the man had become. ”Though, you say your mind hasn’t changed. Does that mean you were born a non-douchebag Saiyan?” The blonde had originally thought that it didn’t count that she had finally found a tolerable Saiyan since at the time she thought he was completely robotic. Maybe she truly had found the tiny spec of gold among the desert sands.
Sake, however, wasn’t having any more of this idle chatter. It wasn’t just about not being happy with the planet they were stuck on anymore. Now she actively had a place she needed to be and didn’t want any more time wasted. ”That’s enough. You!” she spoke abruptly while pointing to Icarus. Her previous skepticism was tossed out the window for the moment as she tossed him the funds that she had accrued so far. ”How long will it take you to get the parts we need? We’re getting out of here ASAP.” Would he actually pull through on this? There were still doubts in Sake’s mind, but they had been overwhelmed by this new sense of urgency. If it turned out that he really was an asshole and this was all and elaborate ruse to run off with their money, they still had the escape pods.

He watched closely as Sake massaged at her temple clearly a little agitated. He understood full well though her frustration. He experienced first hand what it was to lose ones own home and civilization. It was a traumatic experience and even if her planet was victorious he could only imagine the worry that may lay in her mind. However once again caught a little off guard by the snake mistress again. There really was no denying he just couldn't pull of the acting to go along with his saiyan disguise. Giving a light shrug and smiling politely enough before answering. "I was born to a race that has long since been forgotten. Forgive me if that sounds a little like a tall tale or the beginning to some dark story. But its true all the same. My race was conquered long ago and are now just lost to the pages of history. I only stand before you today because of this body that was in some ways a gift and in others a curse. A failed attempt to try and make warriors out of us that was finished too late." He looked out the window of the ship momentarily with a bit of forlorn in his expressions. It wasn't the most easy thing to discuss even in such minor details. He had been trying to move on from it but it always seemed to come back up.
Torn from his dreary thoughts as the girl pointed at him and tossing him the credits. He'd quickly prepare the transfer and before long already be beaming orders via airwaves. If he was anything it was efficient with his time. "There's no need to be testy. They'll be here within the next few moments at worst a half hour or so. My little minions while not the most to lookout are very efficient when getting their orders done." Smirking as he held up his hand lightly as if gesturing he was about to make a point. "Never underestimate a well trained saibamen." Giving his little squad the respect they deserved. He held them in high regard and had ever reason to believed they'd arrive swiftly and punctual with the parts that the orders would request of them. "Just so you know as well. I'm tagging your ship as a known merchants vessel... It won't last long after you leave but after I get these repairs done it should let you leave orbit without anyone taking notice of you. I've lost many friends in the past and even if we've only just been acquainted I'd prefer to know you got off world safety rather then grabbed at by one the empires more greedy compatriots." Icarus doing all this via links to various systems through the airwaves alone. One of the perks of being a synthetic organism.

”So you’re not a Saiyan after all, Sugar? That explains a lot,” Kari-Ko commented, still tossing the occasional glance over to her partner with a raised eyebrow and internally reeling from her sudden change in behavior. There was something about seeing the normally quiet and collected fox girl acting up like this. It was kind of annoying that she was set on halting the conversation so quickly after not having a decent one in so long, but at least it was because she was now set on getting off of this planet more than ever. It was even distracting her from the interesting bits of Icarus’s story that she’d normally be either asking more questions about or finding some was to tease him with. Or both...
”I’d say there’s every right for me to be ‘testy’ here,” Sake said, glaring daggers at the apparently no-Saiyan. ”The ‘queen’ that you serve ordered an attack on my home planet, and I’m not there to check on things. Instead, I’m still here, surrounded by the same discriminatory people that might be responsible for a VERY bad day of mine depending on what I find when I get back home.” Now, did Icarus have any direct involvement with ordering said attack? Sake didn’t know, as Saiyan politics wasn’t exactly one of the subjects she had bothered to brush up on. However, the fact that Kari-Ko had already pointed out that he worked for Saiyan royalty didn’t exactly improve her thoughts about him. All she knew was that if she got back and found that any of her brothers or sisters had wound up as casualties from this siege of theirs, she was going to... She would... Fuck! She didn’t know WHAT she was going to do! This wasn’t like her at all!
Sake took a deep, aggravated breath and moved over to the engine. She quickly began to start removing the necessary parts in order to make room to replace the damaged ones. Her frame was shaking ever so slightly due to how worked up the new of the attack had gotten to her. There was a significant enough chance that her siblings were just fine. They were annoying, but incredibly crafty. However, ‘a good chance’ wasn’t good enough for the zoanthrope. She needed information. Solid, accurate information. ”Sure, whatever,” she responded curtly upon being informed that their ship would have safe passage off of the planet. Her tail was twitching violently back and forth as she only half listened to what was going on. She was more concerned with keeping her hands busy and trying not to let scenario after scenario unfold in her head.
”Sake, dear... Did you want me to-,” ”Stay out of the way and not touch anything? Yes,” Sake interrupted Kari-Ko’s attempt to be of use. The Ryashi just shrugged her shoulders. She was sure that whatever the fox girl was going through right now sucked big time, but she honestly didn’t know how to deal with her right now. She might as well just keep chatting up Icarus as they waited for the parts to get there. ”Well... Thanks for your help, Sugar. It looks like we’ll be out of here sooner than I thought. It’s a shame, really. As much as I was looking to get off of this planet, I was hoping to sample some Saiyan alcohol before I left. Oh well.”

He tried to be understanding to her frustration. It was completely lost to him given the fate of his own unfortunate race. But the few months he'd been with this empire worked on dulling his emotions along with his synthetically managed emotions. The empire made its dealing in planet, resources, and in some cases people. It could quite easily begin to numb ones compasion to a degree even if you only saw most of this via digital reports. "Sadly this empire is much as you may think of it. Its built on conquest and power of those less deserving in its opinions. If I could give you the answers you seek for your planet I would. Alas I do not have what it is you likely would need." Trying to sound somewhat apologetic. After all he was there during the battle and played his own part after all.
He would have commented on their snappy banter and the idea of alcohol but before he could their came a rap tap at the door. Using his hacking skills via air waves the door in itself would open before anyone could actually use the controls. What would come bumbling in after may have been more surprising then the door. As four little multicolored saibamen waddled about lugging a large crate with the parts needed and a few spares just encase. They didn't look to pleased either given the weight of the box before dropping it near the engine with a thud. "Kikiki Keeeee!" The largest one standing around two inches tall then the others would say. Placing a clawed hand to its little back as if to play out the weight it had to endure.
"Ki Kiii KeeK Kiiiii Ke!" Icarus would say forcefully to put them to task. Rather then listening to their whining. Turning quickly back to his two momentary companions. The saibamen already wiggling in around the engine in places none of the three could fit as easily. Sure they'd look like fools moving about and swinging around tools. But if you took a close glance at the engine itself you'd see how skilled they were when put to task. "Forgive me... They are a little eccentric. But highly skilled and trained. They'll have you fixed up in a few moments." He'd say without a hint of doubt in his voice. The whole probability of how odd this all probably looked completely lost to him.
