The bronze Arcosian hung there in the void of space, gazing out at the twin stars that were the heart of the Brenchian system, the azure world dangling just beneath him, whilst its red twin twinkled in the nearby distance. Up here in the exosphere of the world, he could think in peace and quiet, calculating his next move. It also allowed his body to get used, somewhat, to the new armour he'd procured for himself that he now wore on his arms, legs and tail. They were extremely heavy, and had the effect of suppressing his current power to below one thousand... but, the gains of wearing this armour and training his body... It was worth the indignation.
But right now, he was considering the offer that Captain Koldar had provided... as well as the probable ramifications. Wyntre's "Elites" were supposedly still knocking around, and there were rumours of a new faction rising up from the ashes of Arcose's destruction, some self-styled "Galactic Legion". Not to mention the various groupings of pirates freely roaming the cosmos as well. The Arcosian's needed a single voice to lead them... as it stood right now it was very likely that they'd wind up finishing the job the Solar Saiyan Empire began, themselves. He could already envision the pseudo civil war that could potentially erupt between these numerous factions, each of them vying for supremacy...
Despite Koldar's words, the bronze Arcosian could see that it would be difficult for the pirates and the military to co-exist and work together for the foreseeable future... what each side required, was someone not affiliated with either party... someone who could act as mediator as well as unbiased voice between them, someone with no prior bearing on the politics of Arcosian society, someone who was a relatively blank slate as far as the factions were concerned... someone like... He groaned as he slapped a palm against his face, grumbling to himself. "Someone like me." he said with a sigh as he looked back out to the binary star system. From a stance of cold logic, it made sense... but once more there was the issue of his own power level. Then there was the consideration to take place of would anyone even bother to follow him if he were to try and take the throne himself?
He closed his eyes as he considered the situation in its entirety... before sighing and shaking his head. There was only one course of action. He would have to get stronger, much stronger than he currently was right now... and very quickly. Ideally, he would need to reach the same levels of power that Wyntre had when she was amongst the living. Better still, push beyond that power... but he would have to get there fast if he was to stand any chance of success. Which, for the time being, meant that he would have to make more visits to the human's ship and utilise his Gravity Chamber far more often... least until his own funding became more secure and he could claim a Gravity Chamber for himself, as well as a ship in which to house it.
Despite however useful the human was, he would not allow himself to become reliant on them... Wyntre had allowed herself to rely on the humans, to effectively idolise them given how things were going in the Brenchain system, and look how that turned out for her. She was unprepared for the Saiyan assault, assuming that they would keep to their treaty... and look at what had been wrought from that costly error in judgement. No. He would use the human, but he would not rely on him. If he were to somehow take the throne of Arcose, his first order of business would be to destroy the Tree... he blinked before a thought came to him. "That could work as a show of intent... destroying the living symbol of our destruction would send out a clear message about my power, as well as intent for our people. All the other factions are merely scrambling for their own purposes... yet none have gone near the Tree or Arcose to my knowledge..." he mused aloud.
The bronze Arcosian nodded to himself slowly. "Very well then. That shall be my immediate goal. Gain enough power to claim the throne, and destroy the Tree to signal my intent in doing so... but first, I need to become much stronger. Much more powerful, and develop techniques to ensure a swift end to any that could oppose or challenge me." said Abzerute, nodding to himself. Now he had a goal, aside from the one he'd told the human about concerning a possible strike force against Zucceta... with the Tree's destruction, he would move on the Saiyan's next, once he'd installed himself onto the throne of course. Then he'd need to find a way to restore Arcose to its former glory... and then the process of strengthening the Empire could commence.
Never again would an enemy force be able to insinuate themselves into Arcosian territory, and the past would not be repeated. Those who did not learn from history, were doomed to repeat it. And Abzerute, had no intention of repeating the mistakes of his predecessors.
