It had been a day, the memories still hit her. One after another they reminded her of the horrible thing she had done. Memories of the past, precious memories that she should have treasured far before now. Today's? A childhood lesson.
"Hey Serene, do you know what makes a person family?"
A young Serene, no older than seven spinned towards her father in reponse. He had scared away the butterflies! They were gone now....
"Ummmm.... it's the people your born into right?"
The older male gave a chuckle in response. He motioned with his hand for Serene to come closer. When she did Cress placed her in lap, hugging her close to himself.
"Family Serene, is a lot more than blood. Family are the people closest to us. The people we know will be there, the people we love... no matter what, do you understand?"
The younger Serene seemed to contemplate what her father was saying, even placing her hand to her chin in thought. Of course she was more playing at this point. Back then she coudn't understand.... even now... her family...
"Ummm... I guess but, I don't really see what blood has to do with it anyway daddy, no one got hurt"
Again, her father chuckled in response. The young Serene leaned her head to the side in confusion. In response Dad had simply ruffled her hair setting her back on her feet.
"Run along and play Serene, trainings not for a few hours"
"Yay!
And thats what she did, she played. It's what she shoudn't have done. She should have stayed with him.... every moment. She should have trained with him every time. She should.., she should have saved him. She shoudn't have given out those directions.
And now aimless, Serene sat upon a s stump in the forest, letting her tears fall freely. Her home... She coudn't stay there. It... it hurt to much. She had no where to go though. This forest was all she knew, all she had. For all she knew the end of the forest was the end of existence. Sure dad had taught her otherwise but... she had never actually seen it. Besides that place was unknown. At least she knew the forest. She wasn't sure she deserved the comfort, but it was there-even if only a little.

Not far off behind a tree in his little blue shorts as usual but no back pack today. Little Midori Green was watching curiously. He'd wondered up hearing the sound of sad tears and sniffling which had him in a spat of curiosity. Things like this seemed to happen occasionally lately all sorts of interesting people living in and around the forest. Adventurers and even how he met Rei Rei. But this one was sad. Which in turn make him curious and feel sad as well. Like a little pain inside that twisted when he saw people in a state like this. That only led to his big red eyes watering up lightly as well. But shaking it off quickly. Scratching his little chin with a clawed finger thinking to himself what he had to do. What could he do. Simply walking up might scare her and he didn't want another person being mean like big mr red... and Bing was too far away to go fetch... He'd sigh but spot a solution shortly after things seemed so dreadfully hopeless in his new quest to aid the crying princess! Cause clearly she was a forest princess. Thats the way it usually was in the comic books he took from the strange little food stores in the city.
There would be a light pitter patter an the sound of wood lightly snapping coming in the forest around the girl. Leaves rustling and before long a more audible loud CRACK following with likely very surprising as green would with a thud land on the ground on his head then fall on his back a few feet in front of her. The Saibamen dazed and out of it for about five or six moments. Before finally lifting and standing but his body and eyes spinning lightly as he wobbled from side to side looking uncoordinated and dizzy as in both hands he had two shiny crisp apples form high above reaching out to offer one to her as he said in a dizzy voice. "Midori help...Midori give... apple! Kek!" Regardless of if she'd take he'd fall back landing on his back. Blinking looking up at the sky the whole forest spinning. He'd shake a little fist to the sky. Damn forest... spinning. who did it think it was he was trying to be sweet to the lady!

Her thoughts were interupted by by the sound of snapping wood. At first the Kunoichi thought it was simply the natural course of nature. Older parts dying to grow something new. She was half right but also waaay off. The sound of the being falling down in front of her at first shocked her, Serene jumping to her feet in surprise. At first she was scared of what the creature might do to her, what it wanted. But it didn't stay that way for long. It was clearly in pain... that in of itself sparked worry in Serene. A rational person probaly would have ran or hit or something. But Serene? She just found herself worried as to it's well being.
It was this same worry that turned to gulit when she saw he was trying to help her. Two fresh crisp apples lay in it's hands-held out to her. Had it seen her crying? Were the apples it's way of trying to help? If so... it was her fault he was hurt, her fault he was feeling this pain. She reached out to take an apple from his hands, hoping the gesture would at least make it happy. However as soon as she did she was treated to the one calling itself 'Midori' falling backward. Placing the apple to the side Serene procceded to get down to her knees, kneeling over Midori's fallen form. Hesitently she placed her hand on it's head trying to gauge where it might have been hurting. If it was hurt... if something happened to Midori because she had to cry..... she coudn't stand the thought. Wiping the tears from her face she attempted to smile, maybe that would help?
"M...Midori right? Does it hurt?"

Midori green had spinning vision at the moment but a Saibamens health often was rather good at healing. Unless something killed them out right they usually survived most after injuries and lasting effects. But a dizzy looking expression in its eyes made it seem perhaps he had not yet regained focus. The little three foot, two inches tall creature at the moment seeing not one but several female faces above him spinning but a comforting hand on his head But holing up his other apple hand a little a little unsteady as he wasn't sure which one he'd give it too. "Whoa...Kek.... Lots of girls now. Kikikiki... So many... Only one other apple! kukukek." The creature said in a lightly woozy sounding but cheerful voice. "Me be ok!....But mean forest is spinning! Kukuku... Tell forest stop spinning!" He'd say in a light grump sound smiling and shaking a little fist to the sky made of up three clawed fingers.
Leaning his head lightly and softly off to his side to rub against her as he still lay lightly in pain on the ground. His head spinning and his daze likely to last for a bit longer. A saibamens head was tough as nails but it still took time to let the after effects of such a long drop wear off. If it were a normal animal or a natural creature not grown and built to adapt to dangers and surroundings so easily for survival it likely would not have survived such a fall.

Poor thing, the fall must have left it disorenented. Serene coudn't help but let out a light chuckle, as much as she was concerned for it's safety the little thing was just acting to adorable to stand. It seemed to think their was multiples of her around. That made since with it's condtion she supposed. She maintained her smile for the creature. If she could make it feel more comfortable why shoudn't she? It WAS her fault it was even like this to begin with.
"It's ok, one apples plenty"
From what she could tell the only thing wrong with him was Midori was the affliction of dizziness. He didn't appear to have any fractures... maybe a few bruises but that could heal easy enough... right? It was well enough to be mad at the forest so that was progress in her eyes, well sorta. As log as their was no trauma it mean't the condition should where off soon right? She hoped so. It rubbed against her, obviously seeking comfort. Serene responded my lightly rubbing his head. Hopefully it would help the smaller being stay at ease.
"It'll be ok, i'm sure the forest will be done soon"

The dizzy spell seemed to fade shortly there after. The tree must have known better then to keep teasing him he thought as they finally stopped spinning and the girl as well! She went from being mini mini girls to just one again! Yesss The forest knew when to respect green. He was a hero after all that you couldn't just go pushing around. He had the magic of courage and friendship on his side. A power that made things truly change within one self. Of course it was really double vision he had prior and a dizzy spell from his head hitting the ground but why ruin his little way of seeing it with things like logic and truth. As far as he was concerned his prowess and heroism as well as his dashing energy had just won back his proper sight and mind. He knew he looked like a monster but he also of late thought perhaps he had some appeal. Given people were kinder to him of late or at least the big super power people. Super heroes as they were he knew. The ones that stopped the bad people! The ones he'd strive to be like! He had to have goals and power though first. Yes truly then would he stand tall... well as tall as he could among them. Short people problems... Forgive me short Saiba problems.
"KeeeeK!...Yes. Forest knows better then keep spinning! Kikiki. Trees should not spin but just stand.. Stand tall! BIIIIG. Spin no... Why spin tree? Crazy trees..." Referring to the trees that had been spinning around him earlier. Shaking a fist at one as if clearly thinking it was in fact spinning around him earlier. "Me showed it! Now it back to normal. Tall and cool shade! Yea... Kukuku. Comfy. Head still hurt though...." He'd cuddled against her earlier and felt a warm pat on his head blinking at her for a moment. Then attempting to lick the side of her face with his lightly large Saibamen tongue. A showing of kindness he'd seen some of the animals of this planet do at times to people. He occasionally did things like this. He still hadn't mastered social manners and proper social skills. Well at least for humans... his forest friends were much simpler. Just don't eat them and keep the wolves and bears at bay an they'll be your best friends... Well not squirrels. They tended to just stare and steal your walnuts. He'd growl a bit thinking back on the squirrels. Shaking his little fist at the tree tops again although she'd likely have no idea why this time.
"Apples! Yes... Hard to get but worth it! Juicy juice! KEK. Juicy Juicy red!" He' say holding the one that remained that was his and with a twitch of one claw while holding it in his other hand he performed a little trick with his clawed finger and seemed to poke and skewer out the core. Which he would then proceed to toss up the apple and catch it in his mouth chewing it loudly and like a animal with wide chewing motions and a open mouth. Then... as if making it unclear while he bothered removing the core... the threw the core up and ate it as well. He had seen people peel them and always separate the core for reasons he never understood. He just thought it was what you did? Like one of those strange things humans often did that just made no sense to him. Like throwing out good food... or always being in such a hurry... or worse... raising cats....Cats. Now there was a true scary thing to watch out for.

The creature was recovering, that was good. It seemed quite the excitable thing. By it's words it seemed to have recovered from any trauma it may have had from it's fall. The recovery she noted was quite quick in fact, more so than any of the animals she had seen in the forest before!
She was of course, shocked at first with the little guy licked her. Not out of disgust, a few animals had done it to her in the past-She didn't really enjoy it, but she knew it was just their way of saying thanks. That much was ok by her, she relaxed her body and gave a smile in reponse to his actions. He did seem to have quite a bit to say about the trees. Silly... did he think the forest actually hurt did that stuff to him? Well... technicully she supposed it did, after all he DID hit the forest floor.
His motar skills didn't seem to be affected at all however. In fact, he proved as much by seperating the second apple from it's core and... proceeding them both. That was... ok she supposed, long as he didn't accedently choke. Serene proceeded to slowly begin eating away at her own apple, though much differently than the greenling did it's own. She simply took slow (at least, probaly slowly to Green) bites. Allowing each to swallow before she took another. Between bites she would continue her talk with the stranger.
"Yes, their one of my favorite things to eat, what about you?"
After finishing she placed her own core in fron of Green. He liked them so... why not right? It was just going to rot away if she didn't afterall.
"Are you from aroubd the forest? I..., don't think I've seen you before
Was it from the outside? Serene had never been outside of the forest, buy if this little one was.... then their had to be something out there right?

Greem chewed at the apple whole and ate the core as well finishing chomping them down with his chompers rather quickly grinding it with his sharp fang like teeth within his mouth. Before licking his fingers and considering the idea of favorite things to eat as she spoke of. Was there really a need to pick favorites when there were so many yum yum num nums out there. He counted on his little fingers as he'd begin rather carefully thinking with his brain in full gear trying to list the foodsies that best made his top favorites. Being polite to her question. You couldn't just not answer a pretty princess's questions after all. "Hmmm... Meatsies? Fishies? Candies! Chipsies? Pretzels! Apples! Yes apples...Meatsies!" Mumbling on for a few moments occasionally renaming the same foods as he only succeeded in making himself lightly hungry again as he also began to forget why he was naming foods.
Scooping up the core after she placed it down and tossing it a few feet into the air. Opening his mouth and throwing his head back as he'd catch and seemed to crunch and chew it up quickly and precisely swallowing in quick succession. Talking though while a chunk or two he was still chewing the little Saiba wiping his mouth with his little green forearm. "Oh yea yea. Me live round here. Not far not far... House fell from sky. Kuala give me house. Me live there no. Warm warms and no rain! Also no whales.... Whales dangerous.... Land whales...." Still remembering that he knew the threat was out there. He could never be sure if Kaula slayed them all that day she fixed his roof. But one never knew with these land whales... one never knew.
