[PL 487,734] Icarus had been careful in his assessment of nit picking through all the Arcosian data which in all fronts or at least with what he shared was able to much more easily feed out information to the SSE force. Weakness in Arcose defenses their ways of frighting training what supplies they had and where. Icarus was at this point very much inter locked within the systems at the root of their capital planet that was slowly being torn asunder at its core by the Tree of Mights roots. This as well as saiyan forces made it nearly impossible for any Empire aid to come to Arcose and stop him from staying linked. An with how he had little to nothing stopping him from pushing in further with testing and creativity and worming around its technical defenses he was quickly becoming well rounded in terms of The AE's form of data defense. Icarus almost found it a little sad but had to give some praise for being able to learn more from them. With all their information unable to be hid from or at least most of what used there internal information infrastructure at least. He had a eye through their mechanical defenses like no organic being could have. It was like ascending in form. The weakness they held in terms of data defense he would only learn from and advance for the SSE in the future. To make their archives not nearly as defenseless as this. Giving him self less credit then deserved for his own hacking skills as well. [Learning Digitize SU2-3]
Icarus had taken shuttle alone as per request for now to take a look among the people of Arcose finding it easy to slip through his own ranks and among their own. Given the android could brave harsh conditions an either freezing cold or under water conditions organics could not to more easily worm around and be among the enemy force. Before his leaving of the line he had perfected a program in the works and taken time in privacy to let the morphing process take place as mechanical synthetic flesh on his outer appearance had twisted and morphed. He looked very much like his saiyan appearance. Minus the tail of course given obvious problems if he appeared too saiyan in disguise... But his features as well were of a woman. It wold look familiar to his normal form but only much more delicate and that of feminine features. He had to be sure any who had seen him in the war didn't put two and two together so this seemed the best disguise to go with. An it was... thorough. A search would reveal he was in this state in fact a woman. [Learning Feminine Program [SU] ]
The shuttles were quick and luckily they had the best tech at work as she had already picked up on the communication frequencies she'd been piggy backing off of. It was rather comical how easily she could worm her way into a peoples tech and given their current state of affairs and the empire in such a state there wasn't really one around to detect her and her careful programs and ways of hiding them as minor functions that coincide the communication and defense tech. Only those of truly skilled technical work would be able to possibly find her presence poking in among them. He felt assured on a digital stand point they couldn't stand up to him buy physically he was just here to observe. Perhaps gain an eye for information as well as learn if these people were smart enough to flee then fight. The POW's were being executed even against his desires the queen not desiring to spare Arcosians. It was a dark chapter and he wondered just how these people would answer this call. So for now a 'new AE female officer' Would be moving about the elite camps of planning an discussion looking for possible ways to win this war. She had already put a fake identification into the system so any who scanned her would pick her up as some connection to wyntre's inner circle ranked classified and given her control of their data base back at the capital she could ensure no one would peek passed the classified section to see it was just dummy files to give herself a proper background as to why she walked among generals and commanders in planning.

It was a strange feeling. The fear and adrenaline he experienced on Arcose... The anger and contempt he felt fighting the Saiyans to survive... The sadness of losing his Empress and his homeworld... The anticipation as he waits for the Saiyans to reach Kanassa... The relief of finding Kanassa untouched... The relief of finding others of his race still alive... The pride in the willingness and professionalism of his troops despite this dark time...
A strange mix of feelings indeed. Taiga stands, hands clasped behind his back, staring out through the observatory window of his command center. Repairs to the equipment and window had been finished some time ago; an unfortunate side effect when the news of his race being exterminated reached his ears. As always, Taiga's demeanor is silent and serene; he listens to the various workings of his technicians, and the updates Captain Nudal provides him on the Kanassan Provincial Army's battle-readiness.
At this time, Taiga had done all he could; now, his presence is little more than one of reassurance for his troops. They were expecting some miracle... Some master plan Taiga had up his hypothetical sleeves that would stop the Saiyans and lead to victory. But Taiga himself had no one to reassure him. His fear is palpable. Were it not for decades of professionalism ingrained deeply into his psyche, the Arcosian would be hysterical. But his will would not break; pride in his Empire and in his people would not allow it. For all intents and purposes, he had no choice but to remain strong; physically, emotionally, and...
Taiga's scouter goes off in a flare of beeps. Surprised, Taiga reaches up and presses the button... and his eyes widen at the sight of the readings... Despite himself, Taiga's jaw opens and his body goes rigid. Was the thing malfunctioning?! No, there is no way it could be, and yet... To suddenly pick up a power level rating of close to 500,000?! Taiga's stomach churns painfully; was it a Saiyan? Could it be an entire group of Saiyans? Against such a power rating... even in his True Form, Taiga stands no chance... and yet. Taiga gathers himself, and he hears surprised mutters going around; other scouters were picking it up too... Which means...
"S-Sir!" Captain Nudal starts, but Taiga waves him down.
"Captain. I will deal with it." Taiga tells him, hiding his own disbelief and uneasiness with a mask of confidence. "Prepare the forces. Do NOTHING without my strict orders. Understood?"
"Y-yes! Understood, sir!" Captain Nudal replies.
As Captain Nudal begins relaying orders, Taiga leaves the command room in a hurry; rather take the elevator, Taiga simply jumps over the railing and flies down the winding spire until touching down on the ground floor. With haste, the Arcosian heads into the encampments. He follows the massive reading on his scouter; eyes darting side to side as he searches for the source of the sudden anomaly... If it was a Saiyan... Eventually, his search leads him to... Who was she? Was it her? Taiga checks his scouter again. Yes... this massive reading is definitely coming from this woman. But, she isn't a Saiyan; she lacks the tail; but Taiga is well aware of the Saiyan's ability to regenerate their tails, so he reserves his judgement. Regardless, the woman is not killing his troops, so there's that.
Taiga walks calmly though his commanders; all of whom notice and salute the Arcosian as he passes. Taiga eventually stops a few feet from the woman, giving her an admonishing look.
"All of you. Leave us." Taiga orders evenly, gazing at the woman. The commanders exchange looks, and look between Taiga and the woman curiously, but they obey. Soon, only Taiga and this person remain. Rather than speak, Taiga silently watches the woman suspiciously. After a few moments, he smiles. "Appearance aside, you stick out like a Saiyan in a group of Namekians, if you should so indulge me the metaphor."
Thread PL: 13,140 Scouter detected an enormous power level that was inconsistent with known PL's in the Kanassan Provincial Army, leading Taiga to Jarvis.

Icarus had not yet found time to install or work on masking units for hrt reactors. His new Ki engines that combined with her Tuffle android body after Kouda's alterations were still in need for many alterations. But she still had to look over the new core a bit more before she could go tampering with it for such minor adjustments. For the time it was true to those with scouters her power level was like a beacon that had her sticking out rather easily. Icarus rubbed her chin curiously as scanners looked over this interesting little Arcosian that stood watching the four foot five female. Lean and thin in her science and officer like apparel. She'd lick her lips lightly surprised one would dare call out the high power level and likely upset one of high position. Assuming this one bothered to read his scouters full scan that was. "Oh? Must be the fact I'm not used to such.... haphazard accommodations. Coola 66 isn't too pleased with all this information we've been receiving. I came to check up on what that failed empress has been up too given the whispers of assualt that already spread through out our worlds...." Icarus working on they fly and had scanned for a planet of some importance with a leader that was of the race human or saiyan like in appearance enough for her to pose as someone of a clan. Of course it was unlikely this Arcosian was familiar enough for the huge amount of planets the empire owned to know each and every lord and noble to know Icarus was making up being a connection to the mining planet that brought in rare and valuable gems. As well as playing as if she wasn't aware the empress was truly dead. The whispers of war however and of her death were spreading all over fast thanks to Icarus himself leaking it among all the extronet linked with the Arcose data base. Soon all would know of what had happened as the information slipped through cracks to make it appear as natural leaks of information.
She slipped her hands in her pockets and walked rather stoically and well postured towards the arcosian. Icarus able to be the image of pure sophistication when given opportunity in her grace and form. "I wondered if her ideals of change would lead to her downfall... She did try to change things a awful lot in her little year of rule. You seem to speak rather profoundly. Please don't tell me you fancy yourself some new leader? Pushed all the way back to planet 79... Perhaps the alliances and clans should see this as the empire losing its grip on the galaxy? Or did you just want to appear powerful in front of little me when you ordered your minions away? Grace or power? I suppose both for the Arcosians is possible given the interest in appearances." She'd say admiring his set of arcosians organs strong and well taken care of. AS well as the bone structure well built... This one was at least of good birth and a true well toned specimen down to his very bones. Icarus's eyes switching back to normal vision shortly after. Her little way of looking people over to their very core that was virtually unable to be detected when in practice. Her little way of 'getting to know you better'.
"Although... rude words and no offer of drink or proper accommodations merely ordering men away is hardly appropriate if you expect to be noticed of a high position.... I would have thought those few who remained would show some respect..." Her eyes lingering upon him often as if studying him even if just with normal view at the moment.

Taiga's eyes narrow slightly, but he shows little to no conflict with the female's assertion. He does, however, take some degree of offense when she suggests he was possibly taking advantage of Wyntre's death to raise his own rank.
"Forgive my forwardness; I was attempting humor, not insult; a concept I seem to not yet have mastered. In regards to your calling Empress Wyntre a failure, our Empress did what she felt she needed do. It is neither my right, nor yours, to assess her actions. Her word was law, and we have no place to challenge them." Taiga responds lightly. "And I ask that you not take such presumptions with my own actions; I am born of the Lower Clans, such claims to power and rank are not within my right. And these soldiers are not minions; however they may be seen on Coola 66, these troops are not just expendable toys. I sent them away because I do not know who you are, and, given our situation, I held concerns when your... formidable power rating appeared on our instruments. I have no interest in grace or power when it comes to the safety of my troops."
The Arcosian smiles more friendlily.
"If you desired more accommodating conditions, you should have announced your arrival before landing. You would have, of course, been provided proper treatment. If you will come with me, you will find our hospitality most suitable." Taiga tells the woman. He gestures to her to follow, and starts walking back to the command center. "In regards to your assessment of our forces being pushed back, your sources are either mistaken, or dreadfully incomplete. Our reports, before they went silent, suggest that all forces on Arcose, as well as the Empress, have been annihilated." Taiga says in a matter of fact tone, masking his distress. "And I, in cowardice, fled Arcose instead of fighting by our Empress' side. A shame I can never make up for, even if by some miracle we are able to stave off the Saiyans."
Taiga isn't sure why he would admit to running away, but withholding information to a better would be the same as lying to them, and he is no liar. Once the two enter the Command Center spire, Taiga would lead the way to an empty, expansive chamber used to entertain persons of high rank or important clients. He gestures politely for the woman to be seated in a comfortable officer's chair, and walks over to a series of drawers and doors. He picks up a cloth and covers his hand as he selects a glass for the guest.
"What is your preference?" Taiga asks politely.

Icarus would chuckle a bit when she heard 'was law' Deciding to be a little picky and act as if she was discovering news she already knew truly. "Was law you say? So the empress has fallen? Or at least gone missing I take it? Poor dear if she is not among you I take it that means she didn't escape... I hear the streets of the capital run vibrant in color with Arcosian blood. Saiyans have a way of making Barbarism and genocide almost artful if you look at it in the right way. It is there form of art after all." Her lips curving ever so lightly in a humble grin. Her words careful as well to the tone she used. Trying to when speaking with what may come off as insult still proper in tone at least. Like a viper only striking for the veins but silently in the brush. Careful as to look as the refined noble rather then the angry soldier. It would certainly cause more disarray if the leader of the Arcosians or one of the leaders at least was easily upset or caused a scene. It would also let her see if this one could truly take pushing and sharp words.
Icarus couldn't help but chuckle as well at the strange way this one desired protection for his trips. She was a little taken back and finding the whole scene rather humorous now. This one didn't fit the usually Arcosian profile to be so caring over the minor underlings bellow him. But this also meant it may prove a more challenging leader at least in terms of strategy then Wyntre who took the bull head on only to get skewered by the horns. Clever boy this one was and a little more sense to think cautiously rather then pridefully like most thick skulled Arcosians did. Their self proclaimed superiority often making it impossible for most of them to ever see further then their own sights for ambition.
Icarus in both masculine and feminine style had programs and proper posture behavior down to a perfect skill as if it were child's play. Easily mastering the appearance of upper class. In truth in some ways in her little ploy and disguise she found herself enjoying finer company. It was a little more like a battlefield she could relate too. Fighting with words and like a bureaucrat or with diplomacy then with blades and blasts like her empire chose too. "So it isn't just a push back... Its a utter defeat. What a shame... Barely a ruler for a year and already she has let one of the greatest empires fall... An not only that but to our once weakest enemies. This shames the nobility and the great leaders that came before. Poor child.... she will not be remembered well for this." Speaking softly and caring in tone. As if making it sound carefully like the insults were the thoughts likely of the empire but not herself. Putting the doubt in the air as well as the likelihood this would bring about great shame and chaos. Before taking as eat casually as she'd cross her legs and sit upright and perfectly postured. A synthetic frame that was mechanical and artificial organic materials could easily take perfect posture and hold it for a eternity if needed.
"Kold Brandy... If the reserves still hold up that is. Or have the saiyans alleviated us of not only our capital but our reserves as well... Ghastly creatures." Trying to play a bit of insult on both sides as to not give himself away too easily. Even if under title of alien noble she still had to keep up appearance of the posh and superior in figure stature that would follow with someone of importance in the empire. Files be damned as well there was so many files and personal of the data base tracking a single user was nigh impossible. As well as he said one of low birth wouldn't make up keeping his files a major priority. Icarus would have to play it by ear to get a feel for this fellow. It was hoping whoever was in charge would have been high born. That way he could simply have looked over their files and more easily found a way to learn from them without any accidental fuss.
Her tongue would glide along her lower lip as the brand Icarus had spoken of was a highly sought after brand. Supposedly once only brewed for one of the eldest emperors although whether that was true or not was here say. But regardless whatever this one produced would be of interest. A true drink would have been rather nice after sneaking about through chilling water and the strange planets to get here. Why not indulge in refreshment when among such a refined enemy. "So... do they follow you now? Are you the master at arms? The new banner they rally behind? Many have gathered even if it is perhaps far from the capital...." While waiting for drink probing lightly in her sweet but venomous voice. Icarus keeping the way of the nobles in such a empire.

Taiga audibly sighs as he listens to the woman.
"Art is in the eye of the beholder. To the Saiyans, spattered blood would be art I suppose." Taiga replies. He walks over to a secured cooler and inputs a pass code. He opens the case, releasing a chilling mist, and pulls out an expensive looking bottle. He walks back to the glass and pours its contents conservatively. "And, for all intents and purposes, this is more like Karma, if you allow me the comparison."
Taiga walks over to his guest and hands her the glass, and then steps away, clasping his hands behind his back.
"My people once enslaved and then attempted to exterminate the Saiyans in fear and hatred. It is only natural that their decendants would seek retribution, even if such revenge is not their right to take." Taiga says with an even tone. "And we haven't been defeated yet. There are still those who retain the right to take command, and lead us to victory, however bitter it will be."
Taiga then closes his eyes briefly; it was as if she wasn't hearing anything he said except that the Empress was dead.
"As I explained, it is not my right to take command of anything. My rank simply is higher than theirs in the Planet Trade Empire." Taiga insists. "I am not their master, and they are not my servants. The banner stays the same, and shall remain the same. And when someone arrives to Kanassa who has the right to rule, I will follow them as I did Empress Wyntre. That is my place, and that is unlikely to change."

She'd smell the scent of the find alcohol an give a relieved and comforted sigh. It was a nice scent that really helped the senses relax and she had to snicker at the comparison to Karma. It definitely made sense and she was only truly able to answer it with. "Ah! Perhaps that does fit better my lovely arcosian friend... Maybe those words were just some of my new friends rubbing off on me. Soldier types you know." She'd say giving a little chuckle her wrist to her mouth. Icarus playing proper movement for one of high class in his posture covering her mouth like a lady when laughing. Not mentioning of course that was a truthful answer. Being around the saiyan empire made you adjust to more simpler manners at times. They were a more down home people but they earned what they were given. It was starting to grow on him as admirable. A people who when weak were seen as weak by their own people unless they forced their way up and made themselves be seen. Saiyan culture and lives were something he was currently studying in his free time. It was by far a great subject to keep ones mind one when looking to his friends.
She'd take the glass but not remain sitting but approach the man with clasped hands behind his back. Listening to his words.... She would take this with a smirk and his scouter would show she far out weighted him in rank even if it was just dummy files hidden with a high mark and classified. There was a tag on Arcose to hold this that would need physically removed before the let up on the file would happen. Her ringers touched at the chest of his armor and trailed up to his chin as if getting him to look her in the face directly if he wasn't already as she'd sip the alcohol ever so lightly.
"Forgive me... I find it almost admirable that you stand as the soldiers then the commander by the sound of it. Most of your kind would be greedily trying to raise rank. Rather then worry about those bellow their station... I have read the reports my dear. I know..." Moving in close to hover her eyes a few inches from his. It may have looked like she was going for a stare down or a kiss but in truth. Icarus was looking at the brain... A Arcosian mind was the true art he saw at present. eyes staring in if not through Taiga's own. In a deep momentary study. "You are one fit to lead though... If you know you have the power? The current standing? Troops need a leader do they not? Isn't more dishonoring wyntre by staying low rather then seizing the power that is your right?...." She'd say looking down at his lips as eyes clipped back to normal viewing program. Realizing this was... a odd placement but playing off with a light breath and backing away. Turning and sipping her drink again walking back to her chair.
"Am I to report you are the commander now? To our allies? Or do you plan to stand only the soldier and have it look like we are leaderless... The head of the snack lopped off. Or are you the proof the empire is a hydra and when one head falls another rises to take its place?" He'd say flattering the boy... or he actually had little idea on Arcosian biology besides wyntres book but it was surprising how little information was out there about them. Well besides the empire. Icarus though in many ways found this one... likable. He had his position and he was sticking to it not at all like the other Arcosians that he'd read about. Icarus found himself with light grief as to what this would eventually become. It was just like war.... To show you a man who may have very well been your dearest friend in another life. But sadly through you against each other. If Icarus didn't have programs to silence his emotions... He may have let that smug noble grin fade for a frown and eyes sadden. But for now nothing... Just the grief inside of witnessing a man he respected that would oppose him. An realizing... for a moment... he wished he'd simply walk away. Leave this place.... A traitors thought to want a arcosian to survive... But it was there.

Taiga's brow furrows in surprise when the woman ran her fingers across his armor and up to his chin. He looks into the person's eyes unflinchingly, listening intently. The sheer intensity of which the woman stared into his eyes was somewhat unnerving.
"A commander, a proper officer, never abandons his or her troops. They remain to lead and support those who fight for and next to them, no matter what. Or so is my personal belief." Taiga replies. The woman steps away from him and poses further questions; to which forces the young Arcosian to think. His silence would easily give away the fact that he had fallen into deep thought at the woman's words. Taiga blinks, looking at the floor as he considers a proper reply.
What was this? This person clearly outranks him; her power certainly suggests such. Was she testing him, to see if he was just another power grabbing warlord? And what reports had she read? His? She wouldn't find anything that would stand out in his record, or at least nothing to his knowledge. Like a temptress, her words sake around in his mind, challenging his integrity and beliefs. She is quite correct; without leadership, the Empire would simply splinter into pieces; unworthy officers would lay claim to various worlds and sectors across the universe, warlords would terrorize and abuse their power. Without a solid leadership, this outcome would be inevitable. His eyes narrow as he struggles internally; it was a matter of keeping things together and functioning. But even so...
"Being fit to lead... and having the right to lead are still different concepts." Taiga replies in a lowered tone, still looking at the floor. "Though I do hold some concern for the Empire's direction. Saiyan incursion aside, without a strong leader, the Empire would fracture like glass. Chaos would spread across every single world."
Taiga looks up at the woman.
"Troops need leaders, yes, but they also need comrades. Soldiers fight for their leaders, this is true. But when the leader stands with them as a comrade, a soldier's true potential can be reached. They fight harder, and can be pushed farther." Taiga tells her. He straightens his already proper stance, keeping his expression professional. "As far as I am aware, Lady Zexama is in line for succession of Empress Wyntre. And I, no matter my views, must accept this. If Zexama does not take the throne, the right falls to the next in line. If no one takes the throne, then, and ONLY then, do I have the right to claim leadership of the Planet Trade Empire. If others who are unworthy attempt to take control, I will stand in their way. Beyond that, as I said, it simply is not my place to grab at power. At the moment, when comparing our power, you have more claim to the throne than I do."
He had struggled with coming up with a proper response, but the Arcosian hopes that this proves his integrity as an officer of the Planet Trade Empire.

Just when she thought he had some ambition he reverted to still sounding like the loyal soldier. It lacked ambition and desire to grow. He was in the precipice of being able to snatch great leader ship. But perhaps it was the caste system of arcose engraved to strong on him. As well as his loyalty. Some saiyans were like that as well even if they had power to seize position they may withhold the urge to stay loyal to the saiyan empire. Honorable in its own way but Icarus came before a time of such control. she still enjoyed his high position so didn't feel the pains of being so low on a totem pole. Taiga's race was one of old history. They predated most works Icarus discovered or at least they did in theory. Hints of them traced back as old as most races existed. But that could also be because they single handedly wiped out so many races as well possibly getting rid of history before their time. The arcosians had scarred the universe in ways that would never heal and wiped our races that would never again see light. Saiyans did as well but that empire was much younger. Icarus also had to be a little self siding given his current positioning in the world. "A commander who has no empress... You give yourself orders you are simply trying to appear the loyal underling when you are already standing so tall.... I'm surprised at you. I would have thought an Arcosian would be reaching for that throne himself by now... Ready to not only be a leader but a ruler." Icarus smirked then she laughed rather loudly covering her mouth sitting back in her chair crossing one leg over another in a lady like stance of sitting.
Zexama she'd seen on their records. she couldn't help but find this amusing and waving off the laugh shortly after as if to try and not give offense. Wiping a single tear from her eye as well. "You'd really give dominion to a non Arcosian... A pink alien to rule the Arcosian empire?" Saying it both as a questioning noble and a SSE member who took this as important data to return to the queen. "Other backers and nobility may not see this as the proper choice. Just because you hold such loyalty doesn't mean all others will. You see when a empress dies and a planet is lost... It does not show strong leadership. Nor does it say much of a new leader who isn't even present in the days of war." She'd hold up a hand as if to stop him before he answered. "But I know... Its not your place. Am I right? That is what you would have said correct?" She'd stand back up after finishing her drink and laying the glass lightly upon the table and returning to Taiga's side pacing around him. Her hands slipping into her long white coat. Looking over him standing tall nose lightly in the air. She was playing the noble part as best she could. A hand moving on his armor even touching his tail once. Slithering to his horns as well. Did he really feel so loyal around nobles and leaders. Did he have true emotions or was hardened away as just a pure soldier now. Icarus was looking for reactions... Feeling saddened. Did she really come to find that deep down to it these people were so concrete in their loyalty they'd die so easily. As she came around to face him once more after circling him once or twice. "This war will likely end in your death if you stay here.... You could take off and become leader and return... But you stay and fight even with the gold haired warriors... Before I leave soon. I have to ask though... Why? Please tell me... Why? An don't just say its your place. Nor give me a simple answer of loyalty. I want to hear it from the arcosian... not the soldier." Her eyes pleading for a answer. "An do not lie... I am a noble but also a person..." But what he wanted to say. He was a SSE member... But also someone who lost his planet and race long ago as well... So some of him trying to pull out Taiga's under emotions. The real answer.. a human answer.

It was a difficult thing for Taiga to answer. For nearly his entire life, loyalty and sense of place had been, at some times literally, beaten into his being. Being born into the lower clans of the Arcosian caste system, looking up at those whose birthplace had earned them power and influence... and how they abused it. Killing soldiers and civilians simply out of spite or irritation. But he is nothing like that; Taiga had always made the effort to make himself part of society, not to rule over it. He chose to keep to his place, and make the best of that. The woman's behavior was like nothing he had encountered; but her mind is quite something.
"Take off and become leader..." Taiga repeats. His brow furrows as he looks at the woman. "I know that my choice to remain here appears to be foolish... Yes, I most likely will be killed by the Saiyans; everything I do here could all be for nothing."
Taiga unclasps his hands and lets them fall to his sides, hands clenched into fists.
"I know my place, but I stay because I choose to." Taiga says with finality in his tone. "When the Saiyans attacked Arcose, I fought only so that I could escape. I abandoned my Empress, my people, my homeworld. A coward has no right to claim leadership of the Empire!"
Taiga's fists rise to mid stomach level, and his eyes almost glint with determination.
"Were it my right, and had I the power, I would end this war right now. But enough blood has been spent on pointless conflicts between the Arcosian Empire and the Saiyans." Taiga continues. "While our people war; slaughter each other, destroy entire worlds for the greed and ambition of so-called Lords and Masters, those who are forced to follow are the ones who suffer! For an Empire I believed in, I participated in the annihilation of entire races just so that some other race could purchase their world like some kind of prize; a bauble in their collection..."
Taiga looks away from his guest. He wonders if the Noble really would be able to understand the feelings of those born lowly.
"I choose not to grab at power. Yes, I say it is not my right, but only because I am a failure and a coward." Taiga looks back at the woman. "Arcose fell, and then the Saiyans showed no mercy, not even to their prisoners. They could have simply stopped and taken the survivors in for indoctrination, but they chose instead to kill every last one of my people. This war is about hate and revenge; politics aren't even considered. And you suggest I abandon Kanassa to the same fate? NEVER... Never again."
Taiga knows he must sound like an idiot, but these were simply his beliefs.
"If I die in this war, then I do so because I died trying to protect something I cared about." Taiga almost whispers. "It is my right as a warrior to choose how I live and how I die. And when the Saiyans come... Then hopefully my death will help end the war. I stay because I want to, not because I have to."
Taiga emits a short, bemused chuckle.
"I do wonder, though, what this Empire would have become if a new vision led it." Taiga muses. He closes his eyes and shakes his head. "You must be tired from your journey, and from listening to my rambles. ...Before you leave, please feel free to eat and rest beforehand."
Taiga turns away and walks to the door, stopping just before leaving the room to glance back at the noble.
"Blind loyalty is indeed foolish. Serving a master filled with hatred is equally foolish." Taiga says to the noble. "But serving with the hope to change a society's views one day... is perhaps the most worthwhile thing I could ever have done. And when the Saiyans come, I will fight. Yes, they will most likely kill me; but at least I am not consumed by the mutual grudge between my people and theirs. Who knows... Perhaps death is penance for my own sins..."
With that, Taiga leaves the noble to her own devices, and returns to the command chamber. Maybe he stood no chance whatsoever, but at least he was able to choose to stay here of his own volition. This was the only worthwhile, independent choice he had ever made.

"Could be he says....." To his first words. Not clear if she was mocking him or genuinely in disbelief it would make a difference. But that was more a a slip of the tongue. Such thick headed and imperialistic thinking. Standing strong for the empire that was crumbling around him. It was a sobering thought to know ones fate would soon be at hand but these people approached it so calmly. She couldn't fathom what was going on his mind but death when he could calculate several paths that seem more fortuitous and better in the long run for this soul. But yet he chose to stand and fight an hold his respective line and place in things. Soldiers thinking at its trained level...
She'd sigh furrowing her brow lightly at some of his words. They were respectable in their own way. But she didn't agree with all of it and felt a metaphorical cut from others. Following such leaders... To a point Icarus could relate to following people you may not have always agreed with. But that was her place in life now and she had no way be away from it without losing sight of all her goals and what she'd worked for up till now. Perhaps she was on no proper plain to raise words against him after all. Merely more food for thought while she'd keep chew on some of these ideas while keeping to her appearances for a time.
"You are free to do as you desire. A nobles words merely looking into investment and loyalty.... But your men will do for you what you wish regardless of what I truly think. I'll be around yes... Resting up before its time.... I suggest you do the same. Enjoy yourself, Danger looms with the Saiyan empire where you least expect it so I've heard. They are more clever then they were long past...." Parting words as the man seemed to be exiting the place of rest. Icarus taking a moment to stand again and would walk calmly to the brandy. Even if she couldn't truly get drunk easily another drink would help calm lightly unsettled nerves now. A sigh echoing from her breath from her emotions stirring lightly. They all had their part to play... Even her. There was no way around it sadly the war conflicted goals. Soon one dream and desire to change would smash into another. Taiga was truly a artful individual. A rare specimen to the arcosians.... Hopefully this would not go as she feared it would. Looking into the glass before downing the drink quickly as the burn soothed her throat and stomach.
