Rex was in his pilot chair flipping through a magazine as usual. He let out a yawn and stretched his arms over his head. Rex wore his messenger uniform with the horns popped off for his ears to slip in. His pants even had a hole for his tail, which wagged happily as he thought of the man who hired him as a personal pilot in the first place. "If only he was still around, now I have no reason to fly anywhere!" He said his ears folding forward as he approached a display case. Rex was there for the battle between Sage and Donatsu, witnessing his boss' death. Loyal even to a dead man, Rex had taken his cape and kept it in his space pod which had served as Donatsu transport around Earth. He looked down and put his hand on the glass, not paying attention to the cases contents; knowing it was just a tattered cape. The cape had some strange marks that seemed to pop up without warning. Little did the dog man know but the cape is what would serve as Donatsu's anchor to the land of the living as he completed the sistrum.
Suddenly Rex's ears perked up, he had heard a knocking noise. He looked up in shock to see inside the glass case, stood Donatsu his face pressed up against the glass. ”Boss!?” He exclaimed looking in disbelief at Donatsu who seemed to be weak and trapped inside the glass prison. ”H-hang on I’ll bust you outta there!” Rex hastily said as he went to the back room and shuffled through many objects that had no business in a space craft. ”Man I really gotta get rid of this junk! When did I even play tennis?” Rex thought as he tossed miscellaneous items around. He eventually found a fire axe and held it up as if to chop down a door as he ran towards the case. Donatsu shook his head vigorously to deter the dog man, but he wasn’t getting through.
”I got you boss!” The dog exclaimed as he attempted to bring the axe down on Donatsu. Just as the sharp edge was about to make contact, the case imploded sending glass and red energy airborne. Rex was also blasted backwards, stumbling and tripping on himself before falling on the ship's control panel. ”Rex you idiot, what are you trying to kill me again!” Donatsu said as he walked out of the destroyed case, anger in his eyes. Rex opened his mouth to speak and raised his hands in defense, but him and Donatsu fell over from the ship’s sudden rumbling. The craft violently convulsed as its thrusters fired at full power, slowly lifting the craft up and starting the takeoff protocols. A robotic voice began counting down.

And with that the ship propelled at hyper speeds into the heavens, sending the crimson lion in his revived form and Rex on their way to vegeta accidentally. Once in space and on their way to the saiyan planet, the ship's cockpit stabilized releasing the two from the pressure of space travel. Before Donatsu could reprimand the canine, the console showed a transmission of Kouda who had the insight to send a message to Rex. He told the two that Red Eclipse were currently on vegeta to work out an alliance with the saiyan queen. Donatsu got a migrane on te spot as the message died out, rubbing his temples in frustration. ”Not only am I now in space headed to a planet of those monkey men, but I’m going to be forced to work with them!?” He sat in his captain’s chair and watched the stars shoot by. His anger at the revelation of the Red Eclipse’s plan, and Rex almost killing him in a panic, faded once he seen the beautiful sight. He had never known what space was like and had never been so close to piercing the heavens. ”Quiet you. We’re heading to the monkey planet to regroup with the Red Eclipse. You’re lucky to have sent us there on accident, anywhere else and you’d be dead.” Donatsu said as his shades formed on his face, masking his demonic red eyes. Rex simply sat down with his ears folded. ”Was boss always this mean? I can’t even ask how he’s back to life while he’s like this. Hope we get there soon.”
