[Thread PL: 80k.]
“HYAAAAAAA!” Toma shouted as he slammed his fist into the holographic Herajin alien he had been fighting. The large blue skinned, orange haired being dissipated into a mass of data and particles as it slammed into the side of the training room. Toma fell to his knees, panting heavily. Even fighting a mere hologram of the man who had raided his home planet caused him to become exhausted. Toma knew he was in no -real- danger of course, as it was a mere hologram he was fighting, but doing it in twenty times Earth Gravity was most certainly something that could be viewed, at least at Toma’s level, heavy training. He was determined to become a Super Saiyan. He needed to become one if he were going to make sure he was not going to lose another home.
“Run it again!” Toma spoke as he stood back up weakly, still tired from his fight with the program. “But master, if I do, the chances of you defeating it are less than-” Cortana began to speak, before Toma cut her off. “I don’t care! I told you, Run. It. Again!” Toma emphasized, as a mechanical sigh was released from the machine. “Very well.” The AI spoke, as the large Herajin materalized once more. It looked similar to the ancient space pirate Bojack, though with fewer scars and a tad less hair. The hologram charged towards Toma, and kneed him in the stomach, sending him careening into the back wall, slamming into it with enough force to rock the whole room.
The hologram began to laugh as it stood over Toma. “Look at you, saiyan!” It began to speak as it picked Toma up, holding him by the scruff of his neck. “Still as weak now as you were back then. You couldn’t save your planet and you can’t beat me now!” The herajin taunted as his grip squeezed around Toma’s neck, causing Toma to cough out in pain. Toma brought a hand up to the herajin’s chest, before blasting the man back. He dropped down to the ground again, panting.
“Yea… you’re right.” Toma spoke. He knew he was pretty much talking to himself at this point. After all, this herajin hologram was merely a tool. An instrument to bring out Toma’s frustration and push his body to it’s absolute limits. “But you know what…?” Toma panted out as he stood back up, looking the herajin in the eye. “Theres… something you should know… about saiyans…” He spoke, before dashing towards the man, giving him a swift punch to the face, sending the hologram flying backwards. “We’re stubborn as hell!” He spoke, as his hair turned golden, his eyes flashed green. His power level shot up to over one million, but only for a moment. As quick as the burst of power had came, it disappeered. And Toma hadn’t even noticed the power spike.
The hologram dissperssed once again as Toma fell to the floor from his punch, before rolling onto his back, his arms and legs spread out in an x formation. He was panting heavily, sweating, and felt totally drained. He needed to rest, if only for a little while. Otherwise he’d get absolutely destroyed if he went into another training session like that!

(Thread PL: 3,421,632)
Vi-Poi carefully removed earth from the totem. This artifact came from the ancient Sacred Land period of this great forest. His eyes traced over the frowning demon face, carved into a simple and dark wood common in this area of the woods. Fukurou had gone through much civilizing since the time the carver’s knife had delved into this piece of tree, but the magic from that time period had yet to be tamed in similar fashion. His Magic Operating Gadget purred at the find, harmonizing with the magical fields flowing and twisting around the totem’s center. A powerful shaman had made this, and had done so with great feeling. Vi-Poi stood, pulling up the small magical artifact in his palm. This area of the forest was quite deserted. A rural logging and farming community lay several dozen kilometers in the south, where quaint cottages of quarried stone sat upon rolling hills – the latter often populated by rich jetsetters from West Capitol, fulfilling their primal angst to become closer to their natural origins.
His scans had shown an extensive network of caves and caverns beneath the hills closer, but they were currently flooded with the summer melt from further north. These deep and inscrutable halls of the forest, where not many mortals had ventured, held great troves of secret history. It was world-forgotten places like these where the leftovers of greatness still glowed.
A great spike of energy snapped Vi-Poi out of his thoughts. It was somewhere over a million, but only fleeting. A ki battle? His analytics preformed some quick trigonometry, and he hmmed warily. That was the location of Toma’s house. The blue-haired android pursed his lips thoughtfully. He wasn’t sure what he made of the de-facto Zetto Senshi leader. The Z-Fighters were rivals of a sort to Blue Banner, especially after Daiki’s violent outburst during the Battle of the West, and his proclamations against Vi-Poi. They saw themselves as some sort of pure vanguard. Purity was a myth. Everything was a harmony of disparate interests, disparate forces. All the cosmos was a compromise.
Vi-Poi charged his systems, pocketing the artifact in a dynocap before launching himself into the sky, arcing quickly towards the peaked signal. He quickly came to the domed house of the Saiyan, reading his power to be far less than the large spike he sensed prior. Could he be wounded? No… he was somewhat familiar with the man’s ki signature. It seemed drained. It’s amplitude was shorter, longer. Less intense. Vi-Poi isolated the power inside a detached room that was emitting a high level of gravitons.
“So. The Saiyan hermit gravity trains.” Vi-Poi said without a greeting from the chamber door, silhouetting the patchwork light of the forest. He held a bit of a rivalry with Toma, though it was a much more agreeable sort than the kind he held with his former friend Daiki. “Smart. It’s the only way you can progress in a meaningful way. Your energy spike was impressive. I hadn’t read anything of that magnitude since I last saw Reikiko, and I hadn’t read a signature of that… flavor… since my battle with the Super Saiyan above West Capitol.” A small and secretive smile lit up the android’s pale face as he addressed Toma, who was recovering from his exertions on the tiled floor of the chamber. “It’s good to see that you’ve advanced. Have you seen your compatriots? They’ve ascended to the compact ki metamorphosis of your species. It’s as if their Great Ape form is folded in on itself and redoubled.”

Toma layed back, panting to himself. He was beyond exhausted. He could hear footsteps approaching his door, before a voice spoke to him about Gravity Training. He looked up at the blue haired Android, smiled, and laughed a little. “Heheheh… yea… I’m so beat… ahaha!” Toma spoke, before forcing himself to sit back up. He turned around to face Vipoi, giving a weak wave to him. “So, what brings you here, Vipoi? Or should I call you Administrator Blue or whatever it is?” He joked, chuckling to himself. Training, for as hard and as difficult as it was, always did put him in a good mood. That must be from his Saiyan Blood. Not that he minded. He had long since accepted that he was a Saiyan. No point in fretting over it, right?
Vipoi then went on to speak about an energy spike that Toma had emitted. That must be why he was here, but what was he talking about? Toma hadn’t noticed a change in his energy. He was too wrapped up in his fight to notice that he had ascended to that of a Super Saiyan, but only for a mere moment. He did not yet have the strength of body to control that power for more than a second at a time, unlike Ninjin or Daiki. He couldn’t sustain it yet, therefore had no right to be called a “true” Super Saiyan.
“Energy spike? What are you talking about?” Toma asked in confusion, before a robotic voice blurred out from the center console in the room. “Master, my sensors indicated that you emitted a power spike of just over one million. Curiously, your hair also turned gold and your eyes turned green. Your girlfriend, Ninjin, and Daiki, also had this transformation as well. Though, yours only lasted briefly, while theirs was sustained and seemed to happen at will. I theorize this might be because you are close to the point where you will be able to fully access that power, but you’re not quite there yet.” The AI spoke, as Toma rubbed the back of his head. “Huh… is that right… Hm. Makes sense, I suppose.” He sighed, as he stood back up now.
Vipoi then asked about if he had seen his ‘compatriots’. He rubbed his chin for a moment. “Well, I know Daiki went to Namek for a while. He apperently went to go see his old family or something like that. I didn’t really pay attention to the details much. He should be heading home right about now though, actually.” He spoke, before streaching out his back and his legs. “As for Ninjin… She’s been off training a lot. We helped stop one of your old soliders from destroying Mt. Frappe a few days ago. We didn’t fight him, though. We talked him down from destroying the mountain. He wound up blowing himself up. Some android named Bigby or something.” He said, shrugging. “Of course if we hadn’t been able to talk him down, I would’ve killed him myself. I wasn’t just about to let someone scar this beautiful planet for selfish reasons like the ones he had.”

Vi-Poi chuckled at the Administrator Blue remark. “More like Boss Blue, if we were using that color. Alliteration and poetic license are important things to consider when creating a title.“ He said jovially. When the computerized voice began to speak, Vi-Poi’s eyebrows shot up in curiosity. “Is that an AI?” He listened to the analysis. “So, you’re close to ascending as well.” His eyelids hooded slyly over his large blue irises. “A shrewd competitor would kill you now, before you gained complete access to your metamorphosis. Preemptive threat mitigation is much more efficient than competing against full-fledged peers.” He folded his bare, thin arms across his armored chest. “But that would be unkind of me, and I am not convinced we are competitors, at least not hostile ones. The Zetto Senshi and Blue Banner have more in common than they have differences. Our methods may diverge, but our goals are by-in-large the same. Why make powerful enemies of each other, when you can make friends?... or at least something less antagonistic than your associate Daiki would want. He may be a powerful Super Saiyan now, but he is not invincible. I would regret killing him. We used to be friends.”
Vi-Poi nodded in acknowledgement about the talk of Bigby. “I’ve read the reports by Cipher. He was no longer a member of my Army when he committed those acts, and I appreciate your involvement for a better outcome. He’d been exiled on grounds of malicious behavior, which was apparently amplified by his punishment.”
He stepped into the gravity chamber, his sleek armored boots clacking on the tiles. “I’ve fought a Saiyan recently. Zucceta. Have you met her? She’s grown quite strong, as strong as you, I measure. I left her a broken mess in the Bamboo Forest, but I perceive that she will survive her wounds, and even thrive afterwards. It is the nature of your species to thrive in adversity.” His bright eyes lit up in some amusement as he spoke, “Perhaps you’d like a friendly spar? We could test if your past power flare was a mere anomaly, or if it were something more.” He offered, standing in a loose battle stance, his profile facing Toma with one knifehand swept low and outward in a balanced posture.

Toma looked up at the blue haired Android as he continued to speak about how a shrewd enemy might consider killing Toma where he stood, but Toma hadn’t really taken Vipoi for the kind of person to do that. Threat mitigation or not, Toma had felt that he had proven himself to not be a threat to the planet, even if he was a leader of a “rival” organization. “Yes, I agree. While I don’t agree with your methods… I can’t say that they aren't effective and that I don’t respect you on some level.” He spoke, as he closed his eyes, while crossing his arms in thought. “I’m not a big fan of militaries taking over the world and imposing laws on the people. And don’t give me that crap about how Bao is still the leader of the world. It doesn’t take a genius to know that you’re the one really pulling the strings. But… It has been effective, I’ll give you that. I just wish you had gone about it differently.”
He looked back at the android once he spoke about Daiki and an alliance. “I do believe the Z-Fighters and the Blue Banner could work together, yes. I don’t want to be enemies, and I’ll talk with Daiki. I’m sure you can forgive him. He’s young, and still learning about the world. He’s rash and impulsive. I’ll have a talk with him and see if I can’t get him to calm down when it comes to dealing with the Blue Banner.” He spoke.
Vipoi then went on to mention a Saiyan named Zuccetta. The name didn’t really sound that familiar. However, the mention of a female Saiyan causing trouble… that did seem familiar. “I did fight a female Saiyan in South City a few months ago. I never learned her name, but she killed civilians for no reason. I couldn’t stand for that so I attacked her to try and get her out of the city. However, she slipped away from me… she was no match for me at that point. If we’re talking about the same person, and she’s progressed as fast as I have… that’s impressive.” He spoke, bringing a hand up to his chin.
Toma certainly had the mind of an organization leader. He always liked to think ahead and take precautions, unlike most of his race. Maybe that was why Ninjin and Daiki trusted him with being the leader of their little group. He didn’t quite know, but he was glad that they trusted him so deeply.
Toma let out a laugh when Vipoi offered to spar with him. “I’m a Saiyan. Do you really need to ask?” He joked, chuckling before taking his own stance. His legs were spread wide, and he crouched low to the ground, bending his knees and leaving one arm at his side and one infront of him. “The first move is yours!”

“My actions and the actions of my people have been effective because we follow the efficient and logical courses that will follow the best possible route and speed to attain our goals. Pragmatism is always preferable, whenever possible. We shall see if Daiki can come to terms. I admit, I will be surprised if you manage to change his opinion.”
Vi-Poi began to strafe slowly around Toma in a wide circle as they spoke. “It could very well have been her…”
When Toma offered Vi-Poi the first move, the small smile returned to his face. “Very well. Prepare yourself.”
Vi-Poi let his systems peak high before he disappeared in a series of advancing flashes, reappearing fully only when he was on the low-hand flank of Toma, delivering a quick strike to his side with the toe of his boot while somersaulting backwards, finishing this wheeling attack with the swipe of two doubled fists. He was not exerting himself fully, not yet, merely testing the waters. Toma had assumed a very conservative, traditional defense, and he wanted to see how the Z-Fighter handled odd angles and uncommon fighting techniques.
After the flying hammer fist, Vi-Poi would sling backwards, opening his arms into a defensive posture while keeping his knees ready to rise sharply in blocks of any counterattack. The android might outweigh Toma’s power rating twenty-five times over, but he knew from his experience with Zucceta that such a power imbalance did not mean he was completely impervious to attack, only resistant to it.
Still, he was willing to provide sharp lessons to the Saiyan. If Toma was to grow to the heights he wished to ascend, he would have to be deconstructed and reconstructed, as all were during their training. Learning was not only building upon a foundation, it was correcting and realigning flaws in that foundation to allow for new progress.
After any possible exchange of blows during the expected counterattack, Vi-Poi would level a tight fist at Toma’s face, intended to bloody his nose and cause his anger to spike. He knew that the Saiyan’s metamorphosis responded to heightened emotional states, especially anger. Perhaps he could assist Toma in bringing it out faster.

Toma watched as Vipoi seemed to vanish. So, he too could use the After Image technique? Toma’s eyes moved left and right over and over again keeping up with the trail of images that Vipoi was leaving, only to suddenly hear Vipoi’s footsteps to his back left. “Behind me!” Toma thought to himself, turning around to face his assailant. He saw the Android backflipping, and his tail quickly unraveled from around his waist.
Toma smirked to himself a tad. Attacking from a blind spot. Smart, this android was. But he had one advantage that most Saiyans lacked. Toma was creative! While most Saiyans had the weakness of their Tails, Toma had long ago trained it away!
His tail would fly towards Vi-poi’s leg, attempting to wrap around the androids appendage. If successful, Toma would then drop to the ground in a spinning motion, while his tail would shoot upwards. Toma’s leg would then extend, hoping to kick out the androids free leg to knock him off balance. Finally, for the last part of this act, Toma would then attempt to throw Vi-poi into the nearest wall.

Vi-Poi perceived the tail attack, and his smile became a smirk. He allowed it to twist around his leg, dodging the follow up sweep by lifting his foot into the air before he moved with Toma’s throw, flipping into the air and using the turning of his preplanned backflip to rebound off the wall, driving back at Toma at double the speed of his initial probing blows.
His fists shot out in a blurring combination, intent on peppering his chest and his face with strikes. “You’re a match for the Saiyan woman, I perceive. But I’ve seen that tail trick before. You’ll have to do better.” He warned, laying his attack out with a striking knifehand to Toma’s center before he skipped backwards and high into the air, awaiting any counter. He was hoping for a strike from the Saiyan that would leave him exposed enough to warrant a scathing riposte.
He wanted to annoy Toma’s techniques, to cause his anger to come to a boil.
“What makes you think you can defend Earth with speed and strength on this level?” Vi-Poi asked. “If a high power threat like Reikiko faced you in earnest with your current skill set, you would be a mere bump in her road to ending the world.” He cracked his neck audibly, his stance a low-guarding neutral, a coiled trap. “Kami made you the protector of Earth, and with that comes the responsibility to strive for and wield great power. Where is your power? Unleash it! If you don’t learn to control greater chi, your enemies will destroy you, and everyone you’ve ever known will die. It will be your fault.” His voice was cold and emotionless. He was attempting to bait the Saiyan out.
Their power came with fiery emotions, and for that he needed to see sparks.

Toma had done it, or so he had thought. Vi-poi had gone flying back to the back wall, and Toma turned around only to see Vipoi closing in on him again after he had bounced off the wall. Quickly bringing his arms up in an X shape, Toma managed to block a lot of the attacks, but some still managed to go through, causing to slide back amongst the tiles. Vipois knifehead sent him back further still, despite it not actually hurting that much comparatively. “And here I thought I was being clever with that tail trick… Oh well.” Toma joked, chuckling. But then Vi-poi spoke about more serious matters.
Toma didn’t want to admit it, but Vi-poi was right. Toma was weak compared to Reikiko, or even Vipoi. Even his beloved Ninjin was still stronger than him. Daiki was still far stronger than him, too. Toma stayed silent while Vi-poi continued to talk, his face hidden by the shadow of his hair. He thought back to the events that lead up to him coming to Earth. He was impossibly strong compared to when he had been defeated on his old world. But even then, he had still lost everything. His family, his friends. An entire world, gone, because he hadn’t been strong enough!
“You know…” Toma spoke, as his hair flashed Golden for a moment. His Ki aura began to shine brighter, and Vipoi’s scouters might feel his Ki rising, if slowly. “Before I came to Earth, I lost everything I had to space pirates.” He continued, his hair flashing gold again for a moment. “I promised myself that I’d get stronger. That I wouldn’t allow another home to be decimated like that again. I’ve seen destruction like that first hand and I… I…” He spoke, as he tilted his head up, looking Vipoi in the eye. If Vipoi was paying attention, he’d notice Toma’s eyes had turned green.
“I DON’T WANT TO SEE THAT KIND OF DESTRUCTION AGAIN!” Toma shouted, as he threw his arms forwards, a green Ki orb appearing between them. “FINAL SHINE!” Toma shouted again, as the green Ki orb fired forwards, aimed straight at Vipoi.

Vi-Poi listened to Toma attentively as he described his history. He’d been surprised the Saiyan withstood his measured blows so readily, and quietly upped his output to nearer its maximum threshold. “Blue Banner exists to repel attacks of that nature. Before we arrived, you Zetto Senshi would have been all there was to contend with a world-ending attack. The government would have swiftly collapsed. The major cities would be destroyed or in anarchy. There would be no mass organization. Now there exists protocols, and hard steel to see it all through. The Army is being built to counter threats on the scale of our extraterrestrial competitors. Someday soon, we will extend out into space and create a greater buffer for any aggressors to contend with. All of Earth’s disinterest in politics translates to a disinterest in the Universe, and that disinterest is deadly. Had your ancestors shown an equal disinterest to the rustle in the tall grass, you wouldn’t be here right now. There are super predators out there that would snuff out Earth on a whim.”
He moved with Toma, mirroring his stances as they revolved around one another. His large blue eyes widened in surprise as the Saiyan’s hair flared gold and eyes flashed blue once more, if only for a moment. The Final Shine attack that blazed a crackling green from his hands was met with a rigid block from the android.
Power from the attack coursed through his arms, pushing down his yttrium alloy bone work and rattling his circuitry. He tangled his fingers tightly around the verdant sphere of energy, holding it as tightly as he could as it blazed in his grasp. With a hard smash he crunched the attack into a thousand arcing pieces, the smoke filling the close space of the gravity chamber. His palms were crisscrossed with dark marks, singed from the burn.
“Your anger is impressive. Your attack caused me damage, mild yes, but that is something that is rare among my competitors. I think you are very near ready to advance to the next level. But before you think that even a Super Saiyan can so easily compete with the new heights you must attain, allow me to return the gesture.” Vi-Poi said, his left arm unsnapping just past the elbow to reveal the dark and wide bore of his opened ki conduit.
“Supa Bazooka!!!” He yelled, a great flaring blast of electric blue ki exploding from the snubbed end of his detached arm. It sizzled and howled, reverberating its sharp whine a thousand times off the walls of the chamber, the energy thrown washing out in a wide-throated cone. Should Toma be hit by the fast moving wave, it would knock him back against the far wall, denting it and leaving him in a dwindling state. Should Toma somehow dodge the mighty attack, Vi-Poi would snap his arm back together and prepare for a new assault.
He needed to teach Toma the meaning of defeat, as he’d done with Zucceta. Pride was the luxury of the weak. Only the truly strong had met defeat and overcame it. If this Saiyan wanted to lead, he first had to find how to fall, and how to recover, then climb back up.
(Supa Bazooka [MP3] used, 3,421,632 headed your way Toma)

Vi-Poi hmphed after the attack ended, checking the clock on his built-in scouter. He was late. "I think we should end it here." He said, before giving Toma a wave and flying up into the air, blasting off into the sky.
