[Heavy Weights On, PL: 10,428]
Articho flew towards Fukurou Forest, a large smile plaster on his face. He had finally reached the point where he felt ready to face his training with Master Ninjin. Sure, he had gone above the margin for his strength and had acquired the necessary items. His mother had sewn the turtle symbol on to his yellow and blue gi and had said the yellow looked better on him than the typical orange. She also asked if Master Ninjin was going to push Master Yamago out of his life forever. That had given him a laugh. No way he'd leave his former master out of the picture since Yamago had been more of a father to the hybrid than his actual father had.
The plain he had been flying over steadily shifted to a forest. He was growing closer to his goal. Except he didn't know where Master Ninjin even was. He stopped suddenly and looked around at the forest below. He needed to find a clearing or some landmark that the Turtle Hermit could find with ease. The hybrid continued his search until he saw a tall tree to his left. With a quick burst of speed, he reached the tree and landed at its peak. Articho flared up his power to hopefully catch Ninjin's senses, then fired an Impact Drill into the sky to act as a beacon. The hybrid sat down on a branch and pulled out a small sandwich as he waited for the Turtle Hermit.

A tall tree was her latest victim for this day. The gravity chamber was off limits for her today as she had pushed herself a little harder then she had wanted the day before. So now she was out strengthening her fists more by punching this hardwood timber. She was standing out there as she felt a power closing in on the forest. They where not flying at maximum speed so Ninjin had an idea that this could be one of the few students she had met with personally and had told to come seek her out when they where ready to fight and train. She awaited some sort of sign that the ki signature was one of those that she had told to find when she felt and saw the attack emerge from a clearing a short distance from her.
A smile crept across her face as she pushed up into the sky. With a brief burst of ki she took off and headed toward the location that the blast had come from. Feeling the familiar ki signature to a young man she had met on Mount Paozu she smirked as a plan crossed her mind. Keeping her ki signature down low she floated down from the sky behind him and as he ate she smirked before reaching forward and grabbing his shoulder and yelling. “BOO!!!”
She hoped to scare the younger man to which she would laugh and float down toward the ground. There she would stand awaiting him to come down to the ground. A broad smile was on her face as she stood there. “Nothing like a little scare to get the blood pumping in the morning. It is good to see you well Articho. I take it since I see the emblem of the Turtle School upon your chest that you have completed the tasks I set before you while we had that moment of training on Mount Paozu?”

Articho took a bite of his sandwich and chewed for a moment as a flare in power level nearby caught his senses. It was familiar to him and he could tell that it was the very Turtle Hermit he had been seeking. That was easier than he had thought it would be. He tried to spot Master Ninjin amongst the trees, but her ki signature had vanished just as quickly as it had appeared. The hybrid raised one of his eyebrows as he looked around in confusion. He could tell that she was planning something. What it was he couldn't have guessed until he heard a sudden, loud boo being shouted from behind him as his shoulder was grabbed. Articho jumped in shock and his sandwich fell from his gloved fingers. He watched sadly as it fell and hit a branch, breaking the sandwich up and scattering the pieces of it to become animal food. "Damn," he muttered under his breath. He looked back over his shoulder, spotting the Turtle Hermit laughing and floating to the forest floor. He gave short glare before jumping off of the tree and touching down on the ground.
"You're telling me," the young hybrid replied as his glare disappearing. He respectfully bowed towards Ninjin, pushing the sandwich out of his mind. He could always buy another one. "The same to you, Master Ninjin," Articho said as he straightened again. He grinned at her with a nod. "I have indeed. I picked up a fair bit more strength than you had asked, as well. I hope it proves fruitful in helping me train under you."

She watched as his sandwich fell down from his hands a little chuckle escaped her lips as she watched it plummet. Rubbing the side of her head as she floated there she knew that she would have to get him something to eat later. Though the sandwich was shortly forgotten as the pair stood on the ground and Articho showed her greater respect them she expected. A lot of the time this style of respect brought an uncomfortable laugh from Ninjin and this was no exception. “Well those who come to train beneath me never cease to amaze me with everything they have learned and with how fast they grow and pass me in terms of strength. Everytime I see someone I have trained with or trained alongside grow and become a greater person than even they thought possible I smile wider and wider.”
Shifting her weight from one foot to another she looked around the small clearing. Noticing that it was uninhabited and had little markings that members of Earth had been in the area in a long time made her smile. As her fighting with her pupil would not damage something that she would have to replace just in case they got out of hand. “So even though I can feel your strength I would like to see it Articho. I will ask you. Have you tried to fell one of these trees with but a punch or kick yet? If you have not I suggest we find you a fallen tree and I can place it into the Earth and you can try to fell the tree without uprooting it . As I have found that the trees while soft can still take a great punishment from us so long as we control ourselves while we hit them, but should we need to we can show our strength and shatter the tree at specific points.”
Speaking up Ninjin smiled and brought her arms up and crossed them behind her head. It was obvious that she was thinking on the fly and that she honestly did not have a set plan for her training methods with Articho. Yet she knew that this method would work as she has used the impromptu style of training with her other two pupils and now they where doing great on their own. One a master in their own right and the other was able to control and even use her power for the greater good. Both would be welcome to the Z Fighters should one ask and the other return and speak with her and Toma. The thoughts though she pushed from her mind as she refocused her eyes on Articho. Smirking as she knew that this would be the start of a great day of training.

Articho studied Ninjin for a moment as he rose back from his bow. She looked decidedly uncomfortable, letting out a nervous laugh before she responded to him. Was it something he had done? He would need to watch her more closely and gage her reactions to what he did. He didn't want to keep making her uncomfortable. "Surpassing you sounds like quite the challenge," the hybrid said with a laugh. She did far outclass him and the Turtle Hermit would only continue to get stronger. Matching that would be hard. "But that doesn't mean I'm not going to try!" He grinned confidently as he spoke, firing himself up to train with her.
Articho looked around at the various trees that filled the forest. Break one without uprooting it. Sounded easy enough, but if he didn't keep a handle on his strength. He looked over at Ninjin, catching that she was making all of this up as she went. He smiled at her before shaking his head. "I haven't broken any trees today, so if you have something already used, I'd be happy to use it," the hybrid said. "Breaking a tree shouldn't be too hard for me."

“That is just the spirit I want to hear coming from you Articho. It is that same spirit that drove Master Iranos from my pupil to a master in less than two months of training. He embraced all of the teachings I gave him, learned everything I had to offer, and then proved to me that he was worthy to no longer be my student during the incident in the West Capitol. I hope that there is not a moment like that where you will have to prove yourself as he did as I would so much prefer to raise up my students in peace and train them just to defend the Earth. As at the end of all of this that is what we of the Turtle School need to be. We need to be the shell of protection for the planet Earth above any of our own ambitions.” She spoke as she turned to look around for a tree suitable for herself to hit on so that she could train alongside her student. After walking for about five minutes or so she found a pair of trees that would work for what it was that she wanted.
“Found a pair there Articho. One large enough for me to hit while you do the same. I know this seems rudimentary but I think that you prefer the simple and rudimentary style of training.” Smiling as she pointed at the pair of trees. She remembered what the man had told her about her former teacher and how it was that he had trained ARticho using large boulders as weights. It was quite alike her own training in her early years. So here she was passing along this style of training once more to someone else.
Walking over to the front of her own tree she placed a hand onto the tree as she awaited Articho to come over and stand before his. As he did she chimed up as she slipped into a simple stance of the Turtle School. “Alright Articho let the real training commence. You will mimic my movements as close as you can after witnessing me do it. Then we will alternate and then we will do the routine at the same time. That sound good to you?”
Smiling as she awaited his response before beginning the basic routine for him to copy. It was a simple combination of punches starting with a few jabs then hooks onto the tree. Only knocking off some lumber as she did so. She continued the combination of strikes for about a minutes increasing in speed as she did so until she stopped and turned to Articho. “Alright my friend or should I say my student it is your turn.”

Articho raised an eyebrow. Daiki had been taught under Ninjin? He felt like he would have remembered that if the Saiyan had mentioned it. Interesting. Given how strong he was, it gave the hybrid a boost in confidence about where the Turtle Hermit's training could take him. "It's almost like Daiki's issuing a challenge to me," he replied with a grin. "But I'll try my best not to get too far in over my head. As you said though, the Turtle School is the shell that protects Earth and if I see someone who needs protecting," the hybrid punctuated his pause by slamming his right fist into his left palm, "you can expect I'll be there to help."
Articho nodded in agreement as he joined Ninjin near the trees. He eyed his up and down before looking back at the Turtle Hermit. "You're right about that," he commented. "There's so many kinds of complex training out there when simple stuff like this," he rapped his knuckle against the tree trunk, "is simpler and just as effective." He took his own stance different from what Ninjin had. His fighting style had never had a name, but mostly consisted of quick strikes and grapples. He tried to drill past the enemy's defenses while he fought. The hybrid smirked a bit. Drill Style. That could be the name. Fitting, really. Articho focused back on the Turtle Master and nodded. After she had finished, Articho copied her movements, being careful not to break the trees. He kept up his mock assualt, bark and wood chips flying all around him before he stopped and looked back at Ninjin. "You're turn," he said with another grin.

“Wait you know Daiki as well? This is truly a small world after all.” She spoke as she stopped her return and looked at Articho with a slightly surprised look in her eyes. It was a certainty that she had not been expecting this but she should of known that Daiki would of met and possibly befriended others as he had wandered the planet. Though the surprise slipped away as she watched Articho slip into the style of the hermit that had taught him martial arts. Blinking for a moment as she did not recognize the stance that he was in. Yet as she watched him move she noticed how fluidly that he moved and how natural it looked on him. It was a lot like her own modified wolfen stance.
“Well it is good to see that you can copy the basics with relative ease. You are a natural though your stance definently looked like it would be effective against humanoid opponents. I might have to seek out your former master and swap techniques with them one of these days as I did before I became the Turtle Hermit. Speaking as such I will let you see my actual fighting stance. As the one you witnessed is just the Turtle Schools formal training stance. Mine is… more feral and ferocious than the war of attrition that the Turtle Stance brings out.” Her words poke she smiled at Articho as she turned back to the tree. This time instead of just dropping into a stance she took a few steps back and bowed to the tree out of respect. It was as if she was praying for forgiveness to the tree before she slowly began to drop into the turtle stance but then shifted her feet and arms. To the untrained eye it would look like a mess of arms and legs that should not be able to do anything from the stance.
Yet as she bent her knees Ninjin seemed perfectly at ease in the stance. With a slight spring in her step she sprung forward driving her heel into the side of the tree causing chunks of the tree to come splintering off as she spun through the kick landing on the ground and she sprung forward at the tree proper. This time her blows her most certainly ki enchanced as she drove her hands in a combination that most would see only as a blur into the tree trunk. After the fifth hit her fists began moving fast enough that a howling noise slowly built up steam as she spoke up. “Lycan Fist!”
Yelling out the name of the attack the entire tree trembled as a great combination of blows seemingly landed upon it all at once. After a moment the tree’s bark fell down onto the ground around the tree and two large claw patterns emerged on the now stripped tree. With a slight huff of excitement she smiled. “And that is from my personal fighting style. From my own training regiment. I have a feeling that others had used the ability in the past but it matters little to me. I will continue to master that style as well as the Turtle School. So show me what all have you learned from your older master. Every move and every technique that you can remember.”

Articho nodded in response. He thought back to his meeting with the younger Saiyan. It had been a fun training session with Bigby, though it was fairly one sided. He and Bigby hadn't been able to do much against the much more powerful Daiki. "You could say that. It's pretty easy to meet people when most of us can fly and sense each other," he said with a grin. "It was encouraging when I met him. Meeting another Super Saiyan showed me that it wasn't as unattainable as I had imagined." The thought of such a powerful form being attained by more than one person had certainly fired the young hybrid up, though the idea of having to go through a terrible tragedy made him worry. What would need to happen for him to be pushed over the edge? He didn't want to think of the possibilities.
Articho noticed that his face had taken a look of worry. He had unwittingly spaced out during his thoughts. He refocused on Ninjin, smiling again to try and prevent her from worrying. He watched the Turtle Hermit perform in Lycan Fist. It was quite an impressive combo. He didn't have anything of that level of power, not even his Heaven Piercer. "Pretty awesome, I'd say. Though I don't think the tree agrees with me," the hybrid said, laughing as he did. His laugh quickly changed to a sheepish smile, though. "Well, the most my old master taught me was the fighting style, basic ki manipulation, and a simple ki wave technique. The fighting style is the only thing I've kept improving with, but most everything else I know, I've trained myself to learn it. I managed to perfect his ki wave to what I think is its ultimate form and I've sort of adapted it for other purposes."
Articho stopped, figuring it would be better to show than to continue explaining. He refaced the tree and took his stance as ki began to charge in his right hand. He attacked the tree, laying into it in a fast combo and making wood chips scatter around again. He drew back his right fist and let the energy stored in it explode out. The green ki took the form of a large drill around his forearm and hand and began spinning rapidly. With a mighty shout, the hybrid pushed his hand into the tree, boring a hole straight through the trunk. When his fist reached the other side, he unfurled his fist and let the energy disperse, leaving his right arm alone in the hole. He pulled it out and turned back to Ninjin with a smile. "That's the most recent addition to my arsenal," he said. He rubbed the back of his head with another sheepish smile. "Basically all of my moves are centered around drills. My old master lived on a mountain and had a particular affinity for them that I guess I took on after finishing my training with him."

She stood there watching him perform the technique that his old master had taught him. It was a good technique and Ninjin could definently see a positive upon the technique in the future. As to her it appeared as if it could very possibly pierce through ki shields that others produced. That in and of itself was a positive as she could and will use it to test out defensive techniques against in the future. ”Well I can assume that your master would eb proud of you though. To take a technique they crafted with conviction and embrace it and make it your own. That is a true sign of a master when the student does surpass you and become greater than even you could of imagined. Trust me on this as I do feel a sense of pride toward Daiki and everything he has accomplished. I will say that you will get to meet him again once he returns to Earth as he still considers himself a student despite his clear advantage over me that he has.”
Ninjin shook her head from side to side when he mentioned that the Super Saiyan was some unattainable goal far out fo the reach of normal people. Closing her eyes she stopped what she was doing and placed a hand on the tree before her. “I can safely assume that he did not tell you what happened to him for him to attain that form? I can safely assume he did not tell you what happened to me in order to attain my Super Saiyan state?”
The questions where rather simple especially compared to what she had been asking before. She held her eyes closed as she did not know how to articulate the words to the young man but she would try anyways. “I will tell you the story of just how it was that this power was attained for myself. Trust me that this is not a very nice tale or one that should really be relived but I have to every time that I wish to use this power. The simplest and most pure answer I can tell you is that I watched my best friend become crippled before my eyes, my boyfriend at the time get a ki blast through his chest, and watch my own mother be lifted into the air and have her neck snapped in front of me… All of this was perpetrated on me by my own uncle. My father’s brother was so overwhelmed with some delusion or paranoia that I was going to go to Vegeta and dethrone him that he came to Earth… Took away all those that I cared for…”
As she spoke Ninjin let out a growl as she reared back and her super saiyan form emerged in that instant and her fist impacted the tree splitting it at the point where she hit. The whole top half of the tree went flying into the air landing inside of the clearing behind them like a matchstick tossed into the air. The turtle master stood there her eyes still closed and her fist stopped exactly where it had impacted the tree. Yet she continued to talk. “And then Daiki… Poor Daiki had to watch as I was shot through the chest with a ki blast and tossed onto the ground and had to lay there bleeding out as he struggled with the power himself. He had to watch his beloved master lay there in pain to attain this accursed form. I know the saiyans consider this form to be some type of legendary state. In their culture this is some form of a god to them. To me it is a burden. It is a constant memory of what I could not protect and it reminds me to always stand up for what I believe in and the consequences be damned… Articho tell me this. Are you going to be willing to go through all of this pain. Are you willing to lose everything that you are in order to become that shield. Cause if you are then get ready as I will not hold back as the real training shall begin.”
Turning toward him she did not untransform from her super saiyan state and instead she dropped into an offensive looking stance and narrowed her eyes toward him.

Articho nodded, a small smile on his face. He wanted really did want to make his old master proud. He hadn't talked to Yamago in a while. He should really stop by his old hut and show him his progress. It would blow him away, both figuratively and literally. On second thought, maybe he shouldn't show his old master in his hut. He might accidently destroy it. "I try my best," the hybrid replied. "My old master was more of a father to me than my father was. And my father will learn the mistake he made by challenging me. He'll learn the might of Earth." The hybrid's smile changed to a confident grin. At least he would get to show one Saiyan that they weren't the perfect warriors.
Articho shook his head. Daiki hadn't told him much, just showed him the state. He watched her, his smile faded and as her story continued, his eyes were filled with sorrow. Despite his understanding of what it took to reach Super Saiyan, he still trivialized the form as a means to beat his father. In all honesty, the form had never been much of a legend to him. It was merely a tool, something he could use to defeat his father. The hybrid didn't want such loss in his life. The few people he was truly close to were his mother, Master Yamago, and Gleciar, possibly even Ninjin in the future if he stuck through with the training. If getting Super Saiyan needed one of their deaths to happen, Articho truly questioned whether the form was worth it. He clenched his fists as his arms hung next to his sides. "I..." the young hybrid struggled to form the words. "I don't know, but... but there has to be another way! I can't believe that the form can't be obtained without the loss of someone. Maybe it's the rage you feel upon losing them that causes it." Articho looked the Turtle Hermit directly in the eye, his eyes narrowed into a glare. "If that's the case, then I'll learn. I'll learn to focus what anger I feel towards my father. I won't lose the ones I love for something as simple as Super Saiyan, I can promise you that!"
Articho dropped into his own fighting stance. He stared unflinchingly at the transformed Ninjin. His heart beat loudly in his chest and adrenaline pumped through his veins. He knew he had no chance of even knocking the Turtle master off of her feet, let alone beating her. That didn't stop the young half Saiyan. He would try his hardest against her with every trick in the book he knew exploited to its fullest. With a roar, Articho charged at Ninjin before vanishing and reappearing with multiple after images left behind. He kept his mad dash around her at his fastest speed possible before lunging at her with a kick aimed at the back of her head. It most likely wouldn't make her move and he expected a counter from the Super Saiyan. He readied himself to shoot multiple ki blasts towards her face upon her first movement towards him.

“Use whatever fuel you must for the form when you get to it but for now we are going to train and I expect you to go full out. We need to go full out as that will push you and your body to its very limits and then we will shatter those limits…” She spoke up as she watched him drop into his own fighting stance. Knowing full well just how much more powerful her Super Saiyan Form was compared to him she knew that nothing he could do would harm her. Yet she felt that if she continued to push just the right buttons and coax him in just the right directions he would easily become greater than her just as Daiki had.
As he let out a roar of battle she smirked as he charged. Her attention was focused forward as she awaited his attack. Yet the anticipation was gone as he began to move around her with a hypersonic style of movement leaving behind after images of himself all over the place. She was able to follow him with her ki sense but attempting to do both use her ki sense and eyes gave her mind a slight fuzzy and sluggish feeling. So she had found a negative to doing the technique as the amount of residual ki made the sluggish feeling until she felt his foot impact with the back of her head causing her to push forward just because of it catching her off guard. :: Articho you are full of surprises. That was a good strike. ::
Thinking to herself as she turned to suddenly come face to face with multiple ki blasts directly in the face. She blinked as the ki blasts impacted her and disapated into the air around her head. Coughing she released a burst of smoke that had made its way into her mouth. “My turn.”
Ninjin spoke out as she pushed forward aiming to drive Articho backwards with a series of quick punches and kicks timed with almost perfect timing befitting one who was already a master of martial arts.
{It is a basic flurry of punches and kicks Articho. So feel free to take as many of the hits as needed or dodge but some will hit but this being a spar lets have fun with it.}

"That's the only way I know how to train!" Articho shouted in response. "I won't quit, not until I'm the strongest I can be!" He grit his teeth in determination. His body would be beaten and broken before the end of today, but he'd be damned if he didn't keep trying until he couldn't physically get up again. His mother would not be happy when he got home that day.
The younger hybrid's eyes widened in surprise as he managed to knock Ninjin forward with his kick. He knew hadn't expected to do any damage to her, but it was encouraging to see he could at least make the Tirtle Hermit stumble. His ki blasts did next to nothing to her, which he also expected. He readied himself for her counter, attempting to follow her flurry of limbs. Articho managed to block and dodge the first few punches and kicks, but her speed easily out matched his own. A hail of fists and feet slammed into his body with the final blow knocking him back and into through a few trees. He skidded to a stop on the ground. The hybrid rose back to his knees, spitting out a small gob of blood. His weights were slowing him down considerably and he considered taking them off to fight at his full power. Then again, his full power still wasn't enough to match Ninjin. Might as well keep them on. It was better exercise that way.
Articho dashed back towards the other hybrid. When he got near her, he attempted to jump over her head quickly and plant another kick onto her head. If he landed while successfully hitting her without getting countered, he would quickly turn around and try to get her in to a Full Nelson grab before leaning and trying smash her head into the ground with a suplex.

“Then that is good as it is the only real way to train Articho.” Ninjin yelled out as she continued to swing her fists toward him. Though as he went flying she winced a little as she was not expecting to catch him that good. She knew that this was going to be hard on the both of them as she was attempting to hold her power as long as possibly while in this form. Her eyes narrowed as she watched him dash at her quickly. Raising her arm to deflect any attack that would come at her she felt the pressure of his foot impacting with her outstretched arm pulling her slightly forward and a second kick impacted the back of her head.
:: Impressive combination. I will need to get him to fight another student and watch the outcome… but who?:: She thought to herself as he grabbed her and flipped her over to clobber her head against the ground with a suplex. Bringing her hands around she pushed against the Earth after the impact and flipped herself and Articho into the air. Grabbing onto his arm she let out a nosie of exertion and threw the young man off her shoulder and down into the ground beneath her. Quickly she took advantage of the situation and pushed forward taking a moment to measure his ki she began to fire off ki blasts that where close to his power. Not enough to kill him but enough to sting badly should the bolts land on his body.
As the barrage ended she floated there in the air smiling. “Want to give up yet my pupil? Cause if you do not want to give up then I have a technique to teach you.” Smiling she brought her hands around behind her and a ball of blue energy began to coalesce behind her. “KA…ME…” She hoped that Articho would be able to sense the strength of the attack behind her was not skyrocketing and instead it was just at the power she was sensing coming from him. That beside the point she hoped that he truly was a fast learner or the day of training was going to end rather quickly.

Articho felt himself go airborne with Ninjin still in his grip. That was quickly changed as he felt his arm being grabbed and their positions reversed. He, sadly, hadn't been able to smash her head into the ground. It may have at least stunned her for a few minutes, but her speed and strength far outmatched his own. He grunted in pain as he slammed into the ground. His eyes squeezed shut in pain before it quickly increased from the rapid ki blasts that slammed into his body. The hybrid's body burrowed deeper into the earth with each blast. Though it was strange that it didn't outright knock him out. It didn't feel like her full strength, which he didn't know how to feel about. He wanted to fight the Turtle Hermit at her best, but he wouldn't last very long if she went full strength.
Articho blinked a little as he opened his eyes. He studied Ninjin from his hole in the ground. He cracked a smirk up at her. "That was nothing," he coughed out. Something new to learn, eh? That'd be interesting. But the way Ninjin was going to teach it, not so much. The younger hybrid's eyes widened in surprise as she began charging a technique, something he hadn't seen before. The energy wasn't charging quickly and it felt equal to him. Maybe his Heaven Piercer could stand a chance. He raised his right hand to charge his own ki. "It'll be fun to learn. Why don't you show me after I blow it away?" He smirked again at the Turtle Hermit.
