Name: Zuni Vukong
Alias: The Monkey Devil, Lady of a Thousand Tails, Ruler of the Most Violent Hell, Seeker of the Western Star, The Moon Key
Species: Demon
Gender: Female
Age: Several thousand
Appearance:
A mischievous, non-saiyan, part-monkey female. Few stories about Zuni Vukong describe her the same way, although she often has a monkey’s tail (and sometimes ears) and seems to have a fondness for being young and beautiful (although she has been fat, ugly and old when it would be more amusing to her). The woman’s hair and eye colour are always different to that of a pure-blooded Saiyan warrior.

Beneath all the glamour, Zuni is an aristocratic being with dark blue flesh, tall horns, and a monkey's tail. She hasn't revealed her true form in the mortal realm, but this was the appearance she had during her brief stint as a ruler of Hell.
History: Although the legend of the Super Saiyan is undoubtedly the most popular legend of the species, there are other legends spoken of by that violent and warlike people. In fact, the legend of the Super Saiyan is one of their more uplifting tales, told to help the Saiyans feel good about themselves and their warlike ways. There is another tale, told around the campfire, about a demon that has haunted the Saiyans since time immemorial.
The Saiyans were always a bloodthirsty race of killers, and naturally, some of their number became traditional demons. Hell remembers those days fondly, as Vegeta was the source of many fine demon warriors. But, all was not perfect. It did not please the rulers of Hell that the Saiyans were essentially immune to the pain of their own sins. Death, destruction and violence merely spurred them on – there was none of the pain or anguish that truly delights the Princes of the Next Dimension.
It was a young demon called Zuni who found the way to really terrorize that proud and noble species.
A trickster spirit, Zuni was often maligned by her fellows for her carefree nature. At that time, when the Saiyan race was young, the Demons were embittered by their own bloody conflicts for the greater glory of Hell - but Zuni cared nothing for glorious battle. She was a selfish, capricious creature who refused to swear fealty to any of Hell's greater powers, and was cast out into the galaxy for it. Little did the rulers of Hell suspect that by doing so, they had put her on a journey which would see her shake the heavens... or at least, one small world.
Legend says that she appeared to the first Saiyans as a slave, offering her service to cook and clean for the mighty warriors in order to avoid a fight… only to then devour the entire tribe’s food whilst they slept, and scamper off into the night.
The anger and frustration the Saiyans felt at her betrayal was nothing compared to the hunger in their bellies. Zuni, though, had grown strong from the great feast meant for the mighty warriors of the tribe, and she led them on a frustrating chase. Whenever their hunters brought done a great beast, Zuni stole in and snatched the kill from under their noses. When the weaker members of the tribe tried to bring fruit and berries to sustain them, Zuni cast an evil spell to make them spoil.
When confronted by brave, lone warriors, The Monkey Devil usually just used her magic extending stick to poke them in the nose or on the backside, and then flee once more into the wilderness where she could not be found!
Finally, in rage and desperation, the tribe were able to work together to corner Zuni, and force her to fight. Even then, she used her trickery to escape all the way to the moon – but her own wits were her downfall. Although Zuni built a palace on the moon to make herself comfortable, she couldn’t escape – because whenever the moon was in the right position, the world below was covered in countless raging Oozaru. For hundreds of years, she was stranded up there, forced to watch as the Saiyans expanded and destroyed the Tuffles.
It was only a last-ditch effort by a Tuffle scientist that brought her back.
The Tuffle hoped that he could send his son to another planet, but his rocket was knocked off-course by an Oozaru, and landed on the moon. Of course, the Saiyans didn’t know this was the reason Zuni returned to their world; they just knew that after they destroyed the Tuffles, like punishment for their sins, there she was.
Zuni tied the shoelaces of the Saiyan King together, and dyed the hair of his greatest warriors pink. She stole the best food and drink for herself, and wrote insulting messages on palace walls. Worst of all, she targeted the proudest, the mightiest Saiyans – man or woman, rich or poor – and she took their tails from them whilst they slept to add to her collection. From these saiyan tails, she made a rope which she used to climb back up to the moon whenever she wished!
Zuni Vukong became the Saiyan boogeyman, the monster lurking under the bed who would take away naughty Saiyan children. Then, quite simply, she overstepped her bounds. She appeared in the Royal Saiyan Court, and declared that she would take the tail of the King himself.
She had a clever plan to achieve it, too, but she had underestimated the determination of the King. He had developed a powerful new technique, and on the night of the New Moon, when Zuni stole into the King’s bedchamber to take her prize… she was surprised to find the Full Moon burning in the sky above.
The King transformed, and the pair battled furiously – but the King’s tail was too big and too strong for Zuni to pull off! When at last she tried to flee, by lassoing the moon with her rope of Saiyan Tails… the rope passed through it without finding purchase at all, and she was stomped flat, then exploded with a powerful mouthbeam.
For ten generations, Zuni Vukong was no more. But she was a clever demon, remember? And evil as insidious as hers always finds a way.
In Hell, Zuni only got more powerful – for now she had felt the sting of humiliation, and perhaps the Saiyans had rubbed off on her more than she would like to admit, because she wanted to get back at them. She built a corner of Hell composed entirely of Saiyan souls, and she used their power in a great ritual working, linking her corner of Hell to her palace on the Moon, where some of her power still lingered.
She got back just in time to watch Vegeta explode, flinging the Moon far to the eastern edge of the galaxy. The effort of surviving the cataclysmic explosion was immense, taking up much of Zuni's strength. Alone, out in the depths of space, without any easy way back to Hell OR any idea of where to go, Zuni decided on her goal: to return to the ruins of Vegeta in order to see if there was anything left she might recover.
It was during this period that her legend became known to many other races as a wanderer desperately seeking passage back to the West – usually unable to help herself from sabotaging her own progress through silly pranks and unfortunately-timed jokes along the way.
It has taken almost all of her power, and thousands of years, but she has finally – finally – managed to make her way back across the galaxy to the planet Vegeta. When she had first set forth on her quest, many moons ago, she had intended to pee on the ruins of her ancient enemies... as a mark of respect, you know? But now, she has discovered that the Saiyans are - perhaps - at the strongest level she has ever known them to be, and so she has returned to her more ancient quest:
Her quest to make the Saiyans admit, she can make a monkey out of any of them!
Starting Planet: Vegeta
Techniques (10/11)
Empty Tummy Wave – Zuni’s x4 attack, the Empty Tummy Wave is a bright purple beam of energy which inflicts debilitating hunger and weakness on the opponent, causing them to either pass out (at best) or literally waste away into nothing as their body devours their own muscles for sustenance. Truly a horrible way to die.
Beings who do not need to eat (such as fully-mechanical androids) are immune to the Empty Tummy Wave. It may also be defeated if an excessive amount of food is on hand to be eaten - though note that a senzu bean works - but because it keeps you full for 10 days, not because of the healing energy.
Demon Wind Summoning Technique [N1] - By chanting a magical spell to help her summon her energy (Wheesh! Whoosh!) Zuni is able to create a blast of powerful air from her hands or staff. At this level, the winds created travel only in a straight line and do 33% of her PL in damage for every round she spent preparing the 'incantation' in advance of releasing it.
Demon Gale Summoning Technique [V2] - An improvement on the Demon Wind Summoning Technique, by extending the incantation (Wheesh, Whoosh, Scaramadoosh) Zuni is able to summon greater forces of wind. This technique isn't significantly more powerful in terms of damage than the prior technique, but it has a 'knockback' effect whereby those who are hit can be carried away by the winds for extremely long distances - depending on the relative strength of the target compared to Zuni. The technique is rarely overly damaging - unless the unfortunate individual encounters an obstacle or is shot out straight into space. It does 33% of Zuni's PL in damage for every round spent charging.

Cloud–Dancing Technique - Zuni can use this technique to summon a cloud (usually one that is drizzling lightly) and support her weight upon it. Functionally, it is identical to flight as the cloud will do its best to stay underneath her feet.
Ki Suppression – Zuni can suppress her energy in order to sneak around without detection.
Monkey Transformation – Zuni can change her appearance to that of any other female broadly-humanoid species, so long as she maintains some monkey elements to her look and does NOT have black hair and dark eyes (one or the other is fine)
Lunar Reflection - A demonic reflection of the Solar Flare, Lunar Reflection is based on similar principles. Where the Solar Flare is based on the sun's ability to get in one's eyes, Lunar Reflection is based on the moon's ability to bounce sunlight off itself. The user turns around and bends over, displaying their posterior to the opponent, and holds their hands to either side of their rear end whilst declaring "LUNAR REFLECTION!". This act of 'mooning' the opponent is coupled with a dazzling flash of pure white light which can temporarily dazzle and blind an enemy, giving an opening to escape or to launch a surprise attack.
Hellish Band of the Damned Technique - Is it not said that the best rockers are on a highway to hell? Using the Hellish Band of the Damned Technique, Zuni strikes a dramatic pose and makes a loud declaration to action (usually 'HIT IT!'). Following this, she is able to create practically any noise she wishes within a wide range around her so long as she maintains the technique (which does not take a great deal of energy). Although the Hellish Band of the Damned may be summoned in order to create confusing and distracting sounds for her opponents, as the name implies, it is primarily used to provide backing music.
Monkey Idol Creation Technique - Zuni can use magic to create small monkey statuettes. To most senses, these appear as nothing more than decorations – though she can make them out of any mundane material she might like. When addressed in conversation, however, a two-way link opens up allowing communication between Zuni and the person in possession of her Idol. This does not work if Zuni is on another plane of existence, and Zuni cannot open up communications on her own.
Insidious Monkey Spy Technique - An upgrade on the Monkey Idol Creation Technique. By meditating, Zuni is able to possess the idol; ‘see’ through its eyes and ‘hear’ through its ears. She is even able to make it move around to a limited, jerky extent! The Idol can never engage in combat and is no more difficult to destroy than any other statue of its type.
