The break of dawn. The light of the star the planet orbited around breaking the darkness of the previous night. A light breeze blew through the canyon of the wastelands, a dull whisper following in the wind's wake. It was a combination of that whistle, or the light that stirred a cloaked figure in a cave facing the horizon. That, or it was the Lapine form that lay nearby, as it stirred as well, however not awakening from it's slumber. The smaller of the two who lay under a beige cloak that matched the surroundings, blending into the rock forms with relative ease, groggily began to rise to it's feet.
The form clambered it's way toward the mouth of the Cave, as the light then illuminated just what the form was. It was humanoid, or what she would, rather, call Saiyanoid. The female Saiyan rose an arm, draped in a long shoulder-length glove which was dyed a grape hue, and rubbed it's eyes as it let out a hearty yawn after removing her scouter. Replacing the red tinted scouter, she tapped the button on the side, as numbers in her native language scrolled across it's small screen, presenting her with a HUD that displayed the relative power levels in the area. The report showed no signs of any power levels of note, though at this range, it was able to guide her back to the capital city based purely on the feint reading of very large power levels coming from that area.
Thankfully, she had gone another night without interruption from a bounty hunter looking to collect on her. Ever since she'd gone into hiding, she'd relied mostly on hiding in the wastes, thinking that if she was too far away from the major population center of the planet, most would find her simply not worth the effort of tracking her down. But of course, every now and again, someone with something to prove or a debt to repay came out into the wastes to deal with little old her. But to her credit, she was far from being a 'weakling' after living this long on her own, and fighting for her life as she had. That, plus, the slave whom accompanied her surely helped, as those who came after her could attest. That is, if they were still alive to do so.
With the area considered "clear," the girl figured it was time to rouse her slave, so they could figure out what to do with the day. Her hands fell to her hips, causing her cloak to bell outward and reveal the vibrant colors of her attire, which explained why she wore the cloak to help blend in to her new surroundings, rather than stand out. She marched with a degree of purpose that, through her body language, looked to say, "alright, enough wasting time." However, when she approached the Lapine figure, she merely kicked it in the side to try and wake it up. But rather thanr eact, the figure just went back to sleep.
"Tch- fine, stay here. I hope something eats you while I'm away."
Her words were heated, yet spoken softly. She may be a slave owner, but a part of her viewed the resting alien with a kindness one could probably approximate to a pet owner, if beating your pet for disobeying orders was socially acceptable. And lucky for her, in Saiyan culture, it totally was. So without any further hesitation, she turned around once more, and headed out of the cave.
Now she had to do something about food. But, what would she do, she wondered. According to her scouter, there were some small power levels in the valley that was just beyond the ridge ahead of her, which were consistent with some of the smaller life forms that tended to eek out a meager existence out here in the wastes. Rising up into the air, she began to float toward the ridge, in the direction of the power signatures. When she finally reached the edge, she peered over it, and saw a pair of beasts.
"Hello~ breakfast!"
There they were, probably seperated from their pack, or perhaps operating alone? Either way, it mattered little to the Saiyan girl, she'd found her meal. And since Usagi won't be here to help, he'd find out just what happens when you don't work for your own food. A grin crept onto her face, as she slide down the side of the canyon wall, and into the canyon itself.
However, doing so alerted the two Lupine creatures, and casued them to pause and examine what was sliding down the canyone wall, before yipping at eachother and then heading throught the canyon with renewed urgency. The grin that adorned the girl's lips twisted into a wide, toothed smile. Skidding down the last of the canyon wall, and coming to a halt as she hit the ground, she then broke into a sprint. Her speed coudl easily out pace the pack hunters, but she liked to play around with her food a bit.
Upon catching up to the Lupine beasts, she matched her pace to theirs, which, upon noticing her, they tried to sprint faster on their spindly legs, propelling their torpedo-shaped bodies at a greater pace. Ordinarily, the Saiyan girl would have been upset with her food trying to escape, but in this case she knew they couldn't actually escape; instead she found this as a fun way to spend her morning.
"And the chase begins..."
The Saiyan girl decided to remain behind the beasts, and wait for one to run low on stamina. Eventually one of them began to slow down, and that's when she began to take her chance, speeding up to overtake the slower one, acting very much in the typical predator manner. Overtaking the first beast, she gripped it by the head, and slammed it into the ground as she ran along the side of the canyon wall, nearly liquidizing the beasts head altogether.
"Woops! Damn, went a bit over board with this one. Second time will be the charm."
Her grin came back once more as she tossed aside the body of the beast she just killed. But she had her fun already, more or less. So she decided she'd wrap things up. Going full speed to catch up with the beast ahead of her, she got there so quickly that the animal was shocked to see what appeared to be a flash of color and then a Saiyan woman standing before it.
"Nice run, but I'm hungry now."
Her words were terse, yet she sounded bored beyond reason. Her face showed it as well, though, it wasn't as if her future meal would have long to puzzle that together. The Saiyan girl quickly swung her leg up, kicking the beast's chin upward with enough force that she anticipated she would have broken it's neck, or perhaps it merely would have passed out and she could kill it later. Either way, she now had something to eat that wasn't mostly destroyed by her own over abundance of zeal.

Arriving back at the cave she'd been staying at, she tossed the animal's body on the ground, and the destroyed body of the othe rone nearby it. Given that she lived in the wastes and there wasn't much to use for fire wood, she decided she'd just burn the body of the other animal and use that. Lucky for her, the food she'd found had a torpedo shaped body, that was useful for making them able to flee from predators (usually) with less wind resistance and reach higher speeds. And the way this helped her, was that if she took the relatively meatless portions of flesh from the tail, it almost turned into a giant handle that could be used to hold the rest of the body with while it cooked.
Holding out her hand, it began to glow with golden light, until the light leapt from her hand and onto the crumpled corpse that would serve as burning material to help cook the meat she'd prepared for eating. She cooked her food outside the cave, not too far from it, but a distance far enough she hoped to not wake her slave, who would eat nothing for sleeping in.
As time passed, and her food was fully cooked she tore into it, eating sloppily and hugrily, quickly trying to fit as much food into her stomache that she could. No where near as much food as she was used to eating, but she'd had to eat leaner while she was living out in the waste lands. When she'd finished, she tossed the carcas aside and let out a deliberate sigh.
"It's been far too long now...."
She'd been forced into hiding ever since looking into something she'd found a long while ago. An underground resistance movement that called itself the Saiyan Traditionalists was formed to overthrow the ministry and reinstate a proper King on the throne, but it was headed by a girl so perhaps they wanted a Queen? It didn't matter for her. But they'd largely been sent into hiding off world. Even still, some members scouted potential recruits on the home world, claiming that one day soon, the leadership would return to Vegeta. But it had been so long and she'd been forced into hiding like this, she was getting fed up with waiting.
"I ought to just take the ministers out myself, and send a formal invitation to those jerks."
She'd never met Zucceta, the woman who was apparently at the helm of the rebellion. But if what the Saiyan girl had read about her was true, then perhaps Zucceta would make a good Queen. That is, if she ever came back. Ugh, how irritating. Thinking about it, this lack of contact from the people she so much as just looked into has branded her a traitor. And while she had her grievances with the current government and the lack of a strong leader to bring their people to glory, she never expected to get into this much trouble. If anything, it almost brought up a resentment equal to the ministers, which she now could say she held for the Traditionalists. But for now she could easily say she hated the traditionalists less due to them having their head in the right place. The only thing she detested, however, was that they were nowhere to be seen and spent too much time off world not doing anything to better the Saiyan race. Getting up, the Saiyan girl looked up at the sky, thinking on what to do with her life, but her thoughts were soon pulled to a screeching halt.
Her scouter started to go off, a high power level was coming from the ruins. And it was coming directly her way. So, someone had come today after all, in search of her. And given that the person was coming from the ruins, the Saiyan girl could only guess as to what they'd seen already. The public information on her cautioned most of the low class from engaging her in combat, and only someone near her battle power like this, would be able to stand a chance. Perhaps they had seen her and were going to report her location? Or maybe they were coming in for a fight, she could hardly wait.
"This will be fun. Let's see if you can handle me, Vennel."
Her voice and her words all oozed with arrogance, as she bolted up into the sky at a fast pace, to intercept the incoming power level. She could only wonder just who or what this person was, but she'd find out shortly enough.
