Hey everyone, I just got around to thinking about something in role playing lots of people do and I ponder if you all find this annoying. But do you think changing the text color of a character speaking is a dumb idea? It actually annoys me cause some of the colors hurt my eyes.
Examples:
"Yo! I'm the greatest person in the world!"
"No you're not I'm better than you."
"No, I'm better than you both because people can see what I'm writing!"
Well this is what I take issue with above.

I try to do it with colours that are readable but mainly out of habit. In a lot of older RP's for me it got really annoying seeing so much dialogue but not knowing who said what properly.

I think it's a good idea cause it really does make it easy to identify who's saying what at a glance as Az said, but keeping it a readable colour is indeed very important, the whole point of it is to make stuff easier to read not harder (it's the same reason speech is often bolded on these places, a convention I hadn't encountered elsewhere beforehand)

Some people like to skip a lot of detail and just read the dialogue in some posts, hence why I decide to bold mine.
