Sweat dropped down the Saiyan's brow as he breathe rather heavily focusing on his objective. It wasn't that it was tiring but he needed to hone this skill to the highest level he could. He focused his sight straining his eyes to see, he could note several targets forming a circle around him. Including one that was directly above him, Rain drew in a breath and closed his eyes. As they reopened his eyes opened with excitement as he could feel his own success. He moved quickly to most his rank it wasn't even viewable. They would simply see him disappear, only to reappear mere seconds later in the air.
With a cocky smile that showed that he was assure of his own skill, he twisted into the air easily spotting the topics. First he threw out two rocks, not even worrying about whether they hit or not he was already on to the next targets. This time taking out three, throwing two in the opposite directions and the last one behind the rock to his right. Hitting off that Kunai at a good angle it arced back toward the top striking in the center of the target above him. As he began to drift back down, he twisted once more to throw and strike the target behind him.
Rain landed despite everything done softly in the grassy area. It was his own private training area away from the eyes of other. Sure others still came here but it provided more privacy. For further training Rain had a modified baseball machine to begin to throw rocks and other items at Rain, throwing it out faced him brought a wave of rocks, glass and other items alike toward him. With his skill anything was possible bringing his own single blade up. He dashed forward, striking rock and glass down alike. Sometimes he would simply completely evade them, but as one came to his left he flicked his hand out to grab it.
Sensing someone coming Rain decided to end his training there for the moment allowing himself time to adequately catch his breath before meeting someone. It was still rather early and he was surprised that others ventured to wake up this early. He was the runt of his race and the Kagami sort of speak and it was time that he change that outlook. As the person finally came into view Rain was a little surprised that it was a visitor from another country.
"Welcome to the my not so secret getaway. I'm guessing this is not your first time visiting?" Rain said easily enough trying not to set her off.

Nai-Ran’s life had taken a rather drastic turn, hadn’t it? It seemed like only yesterday that she was living in the lavish house that Emer had purchased along with him and two of her other close friends that she had made during her short stay on Earth. Ninjin had left, saying something about wanting to be a fighting instructor. Mimikku had gone off on her own as well to pursue her own goals. Emer was nowhere to be found though, and hadn’t said anything to her about leaving. He just up and disappeared. The Ryashi wasn’t exactly sure how, but she knew deep down in her gut that if he were ever to return, it wouldn’t be anytime soon. It was back to square one, just as she was when she had first landed on Earth.
Was the serpentine lass sad to see that part of her life gone? Of course she was. That didn’t mean she could just sit back and mope though. She had to remember who she was. She was Nai-Ran of the Rassuto, the only daughter of General Kan-Bassu and well on her way towards being the next to govern the Rujju Sands! What kind of future leader would she be if she let such changes get her down? This was a new chapter and a fresh start; forward was the only direction available!
Ever since the Ryashi had first arrived, she had been eager to explore Earth and see all that it had to offer. Everywhere outside of Diablo Desert had been a bit too chilly for her liking though. Today had been the last day of relaxing in the desert for her, though. Nai-Ran was through with letting a little bit of discomfort get in her way. She was stronger than that. The young woman had transformed Emer’s house back into a capsule and placed it in the pocket of her weighted bolero. After all, she wasn’t going to stick around to keep an eye on it. She wanted to hold onto it for safe keeping on the off chance her tall Kagami friend ever decided to return. Without anything else holding her to the desert in which she had called her temporary home, Nai-Ran was finally off!
The young woman didn’t really have a set destination in mind, but she had heard about a major city situated on an island across the sea to the South. Nai-Ran wasn’t too keen on the idea of a city surrounded by water, but it was as good of a place as any to start. She had heard that it was plenty warm at least. Maybe she could get a map or something so she could actually plan out this little journey of hers instead of just wandering randomly. Once she reached the coast, it didn’t take long at all for the serpentine lass to acquire a small boat. As much as she hated the water, she reluctantly started up the motor and began to glide across the waves.
Nai-Ran had never actually seen such a large body of water up close before. The only ones that existed on her home planet were located in the resort regions that were favored by off-world tourists. The young woman had never actually visited any of them herself since her father had always been so strict on leaving the Rujju Sands. So far, she could honestly say that she didn’t see the appeal. The air smelled salty, she hated getting her scales wet, and if she fell in, she wasn’t sure she could get back out. Unfortunately, this was the only way to get to South Capitol, as far as she knew. Hopefully Nai-Ran landed on the right island. There seemed to be several that dotted the horizon.
The serpentine lass dragged motor boat onto the sand as soon as she hit the shore of the first island she came across. After her trip across water, she didn’t care if this was the right island anymore. Nai-Ran was just glad to have her scales on dry land again. She turned away from tiny beach and looked at dense foliage that lied between her and the rest of the island. ”Alright, the difficult part is out of the way. Let’s see if I can find that city,” the young woman said to herself with a smile. Even if it turned out that she had the wrong island after all, it was still early and she was eager to see what this one had to offer. Like most of the planet she had seen so far, it was a lot greener than anywhere on Appodorra.
Nai-Ran navigated the brush with ease, sliding around tropical looking trees and bushes alike that were densely packed together. It didn’t take long before she reached a rather large looking clearing. She wasn’t alone in said clearing, however. There was a man with long, red hair. Apparently he had either sensed her presence or heard her slithering her way through the bushes, because he was already looking in her direction as she emerged from the greenery and was even ready with a greeting.
”Your not-so-secret getaway?” Nai-Ran repeated as she looked between him and the strange looking machines behind him. Had she stumbled across a private island? ”Oh dear, I certainly hope that I’m not intruding then. In actuality, this is my first visit. I’m... Well, I’m a bit lost,” Nai-Ran said with a bit of a nervous chuckle. So much for her enthusiasm to explore... She couldn’t just wander around uninvited on an island that belonged to somebody else though. Still, while she was here she might as well try to get some directions. However, first a proper introduction was in order. Just because she didn’t know exactly where she was wasn’t a valid reason to forget about her manners. ”My name is Nai-Ran of the Rassuto. Please, just call me Nai-Ran. If you don’t mind too terribly, could you please point me in the direction of South Capitol? I’m new to the area, and I’m afraid that I don’t quite have my bearings yet.”

Nai-Ran was kind of odd the way she repeated his statement but through his senses he could feel she meant him no harm. She also just had a look about her that spoke volumes about her but you couldn't judge a book by it's cover so she could be very evil for all Rain truly knew. Still he lowered his guard some by opting to sit on a tree branch while him and Nai-Ran spoke. Unfortunately for them both; they were both relatively new to exploring Earth so Rain wouldn't be much help. And then considering how horrible his sense of direction only coupled to that effect. He smiled while shaking his head at her question of intrusion " No, this island isn't mine to own or to tell someone where they can go. I just come here to think or train sometimes as Earth can be rather overwhelming at times."
"I'd offer you this place to train but I feel a weird feeling that you could have anything I could offer if you really wanted." Rain knew how power worked and this woman had it as she could wipe his face with this island or the other way around. It made Rain rather nervous until he noticed her nervous chuckle which made him think maybe she didn't let her power go to her head as he and others do. Maybe humility and grace leads to power? Rain had never seen any evidence to support this claim but then again he's never seen a beautiful snake woman before either. Rain also made a note to never call her a 'snake woman' as her species probably had a name and you never disrespected someones culture without reason.
"Nice to meet you Nai-Ran I'm Rain of the. . . well I don't know where I'm from." He said with a light laugh wanting to keep the mood light instead of divulging his past enslavement. "Is Rassuto your species? I've never seen anyone like you before." Rain asked only to realize that he'd never answered her question at all. He kind of laughed at himself before slapping his forehead "Oh yeah, see I don't know where anything is really. Let's just say I haven't had much of a chance to explore which is why I live of the Earth." When he said the last part he gestured to a bag of random fruits he'd managed to pick through-out his travels. He didn't know which were poisonous or not but luckily most Earth poisons wouldn't be fatal for him.
"Perhaps I could travel with you? I'd help you find South Capitol and maybe you can teach me more about this planet and how to blend in?" Rain offered figuring he'd be able to find this place again someday.

The red haired man briefly looked her over before pulling himself up to a low-hanging branch and having a seat. He insisted that this island wasn’t actually his, and Nai-Ran felt a small wave of relief wash over her. Well, that was good. While she would have left without a fuss if it turned out that she was indeed trespassing, she certainly wasn’t looking forward to another boat ride. The longer she could prolong getting back out onto the water, the better.
”Thank you for the thought, but I’m not here to train,” Nai-Ran spoke with a warm smile and a dismissive wave. So that must have been what those strange looking machines were then; they were training devices. That would certainly explain why he was sweaty. Apparently he had just finished up with a training session. A workout might have been fun, but Nai-Ran was still in more of mood for exploring at the moment.
The suggestion that she could simply take whatever he had here was a little disheartening. The young woman gave a quick glance down at her tail, assuming that’s what he was referring to. Really she should have been used to it by now, but it was difficult to simply shrug off. Why did so many people find her appearance so unnerving? She looked kind of human from the waist-up, especially if you squinted... It was a bit of a culture shock, considering how many tourists from other planets her home world received. Though, if that was the reason as to why he was suggesting that she could simply take the training grounds by force, at least he wasn’t acting particularly scared. That much was a plus.
Nai-Ran took a deep breath and folded her hands neatly in front of her. The man said that his name was Rain. Though, he seemed to have misunderstood her introduction just a tiny bit. This caused her to chuckle again, though this time there was no nervousness to her tone. Now that she wasn’t so worried about intruding, she could feel herself relax a little bit. ”As far as I know, I’m actually the first of my kind to ever visit Earth. I’m a Ryashi, hailing from the planet Appodorra. Rassuto is actually the name of my clan, as small as it is. We Ryashi tend to throw it out there during introductions and then just sort of forget about them. It’s nothing more than a formality,” the young woman explained, hoping to give him a little bit better of an understanding.
There was something about what Rain said that struck the serpentine lass as a bit odd. He lived here, and yet he didn’t know where anything was? Was he simply bad with directions, or something more beneath the surface here? Then again, there was also the possibility that he wasn’t even a human to begin with. After all, neither Ninjin, Mimikku, nor Emer had been human either, and all three of them could have easily passed themselves off as being human had they wanted to. Whatever the reason, Nai-Ran decided not to pry. Though, his offer at travelling with her piqued her interest. She wasn’t sure how he would help her find South Capitol exactly since he had already stated that he had no idea where it was, but the young woman had never been one to turn down company. Truth be told, she had actually been growing a bit lonely since the departure of her three friends.
”Unfortunately, I don’t believe I would be of much use as far as blending in goes. You see, most humans aren’t exactly open minded about my appearance...” Nai-Ran trailed off, flicking the tip of her tail back and forth. The only large city she had visited so far since arriving on Earth had been Satan City, and after her first visit she had had reservations about making return trips. The way that its residents stopped to gawk always made her a bit uncomfortable, not to mention the fact that her tail was constantly getting tripped over. Not only that, but human cities simply weren’t built for Ryashi. Everything was far too compact for her to move around comfortably, which made sense since humans were born with legs rather than serpent tails. That didn’t make them any easier to navigate though. ”I certainly won’t turn you away if you wish to travel with me. I also don’t mind sharing what limited knowledge that I have with you. I’m simply unsure on how to go about fitting in. If anything, I’d say you’re already quite a bit ahead of me on that since you look the part.”

Rain was surprised when she spoke of him fitting in before realizing his tail wasn't out at the moment. He tended to wrap it around him when dealing with sharp object; it was ridiculous currently as the glass wasn't going fast enough out of the machine to actually cut it off. Still Rain rather not test the new strengths of his tail just yet as he'd seen first hand what could happen if not properly trained. He could however see that her reaction to his initial reaction to her and her tail but he simply smiled as he slid off the tree branch. "I think your tail is awesome mines isn't as colorful as your unfortunately." And as if on call; his tail unwrapped around his body coming from under his shirt.
He used to have it around his waist but after rather embarrassing pants incident; he's learned better than that until he could get a belt. And when Nai-ran began to explain the culture behind her name; Rain felt kind of dumb for thinking Rassuto was her species despite having no way of knowing. Still he found himself in a playful but formal bow saying "Nai-Ran of Rassuto, I'm Rain of Earth; nice to meet you." Before standing up properly once more now opting to lean against the tree. "I've been told I have Saiyan and Kagami blood but I figure that makes me equally neither as well as equally both." Rain felt like he was free of the drama of his ancestors partly but admittedly felt some pull for the Kagami.
Rain also knew deep down that one day; he'd free every Kagami slave till he finds his mother and will kill any Saiyan in his way. However, Rain was no fool as he knew he wasn't in the position yet to play in the big leagues rather that he needed to play his role in the shadows for now. Rain was currently in no way evil but would be more akin to a vigilante in his justice scale. "I understand you may not let your power go to your head but surely you must now how awesome you look. I'm not even talking about physical appearance wise but your species is awesome; I'm actually kind of jealous. I bet those humans who either fear or hate you feel the same way on some level." Rain said with a smile hoping he wasn't talking too much but probably was.
"And if the world can't accept you; then the world needs to be changed to a more accepting world. Almost everyone I've met since. . coming here. has been something else besides human and honestly your the most normal one I've met so far and I hope you don't take normal in a bad way." He also hoped she didn't notice how he stumbled over his world at the end once again trying to keep his history a secret for now. "But I thank you for allowing me to journey with you. South Capitol means were headed south right?" Rain had no clue but would definitely try to help.

His tail? Nai-Ran was about to ask Rain what he meant by that since she couldn’t see what he was talking about. However, before any words could leave her mouth, said tail revealed itself from its hiding spot in clothes. Ah, so he wasn’t human after all. She recognized that type of tail; there was Saiyan blood running through his veins.
The serpentine lass had had mixed experiences with Saiyans so far. Ninjin was a half-Saiyan and one of her best friends that she had made during her stay on Earth. She had also enjoyed the small amount of time spent with the half-Saiyan, Pieter Wolfbane, even if the circumstances where they had met hadn’t been so pleasant. Then of course there was the Saiyan that she had met in the Diablo Desert that seemed to be completely devoid of any manners, as well as the three that had attacked her cave. It had been a mixed bag so far, but so far this encounter was turning out to be alright.
”It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Rain,” she spoke with a smile, returning the bow. It didn’t sound like he quite understood her people’s greeting just yet, seeing as how Earth would have been the planet he lived on rather than the name of his clan or family. He was close enough though. Besides, Nai-Ran was far too distracted by the mention that mixed in with his Saiyan blood was Kagami blood. What an odd coincidence... Aside from Ninjin, there were two other people that she considered close friends of hers on Earth so far. That would be Mimikku and Emer, who happened to both be full-blooded Kagami. Knowing what she knew about the relationship between the two races, how his parents saw each other must have been either incredibly heartwarming or horrible beyond belief. The young woman seriously hoped it was the first option, even if it wasn’t any of her business.
”I assure you that there’s nothing wrong with having parents of two different races. If you do not believe that to be true, I might have a couple of friends that you should meet that might convince you otherwise,” Nai-Ran commented while shaking her head slowly. Of course, she was referring to Ninjin and Pieter. Though, if he actually was interested in meeting either one of them, there might have been a bit of a snag in that plan. The young woman wasn’t exactly sure where to start looking for either of them, now that she thought about it. ”Well, if I could find them at least. I’m not entirely certain where either of them ran off to. They’re out and about somewhere though.”
Nai-Ran blinked and tilted her head to the side as Rain began talking about the Ryashi. Awesome? That was certainly a new one. Was there anything he knew about her race other than their serpentine features? Of course the young woman was proud of her heritage, but she didn’t really see Ryashi as being superior to other races. ”I believe that most of their unease actually stems from a fear of the unknown rather than hatred of jealousy, as much as I appreciate the sentiment. As I said, I’m the first Ryashi to ever visit Earth to my knowledge. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that I have a tail so much as the lack of legs. Acceptance will come with time, as well as proof that I have no ill intent,” she explained. Was it frustrating to be looked at like that? Of course it was. Did she blame them? No. It wasn’t something that the young woman could bring herself to do.
” To my knowledge, we’re already pretty far South. All of the travelers I came across on my way here said it was on one of these islands, but I’m not positive if this is the right one or not. It looked pretty big from a distance, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to explore it a little first. There’s no rush,” Nai-Ran spoke, explaining her plan of action. It really wasn’t all that much of a plan when she thought about it. It was essentially roam around aimlessly until she bumped into something interesting, and then eventually just moving onto another island and doing the same. There was a bit of difficulty in creating an elaborate plan when she had nothing but the vague goal of ‘seeing the world’.
The serpentine lass motioned for Rain to follow her as she slithered past him and made her way to the opposite side of the clearing. It was as good of a place to start as any. Nai-Ran once again pushed her way into the thick brush, hoping to discover anything that might pique her interest that it might hold. ”So Rain, where are you from?” she asked, trying to make polite conversation as they went along. She figured that he wasn’t from around there from his lack of knowledge on the area, and how he had stated that he had met some interesting folks since coming there.

Most people never received a chance at a position higher than their birth. However, some people refused to let life determine what they would be in life and with that in mind; Rain had since tasked himself to grow stronger to not only secure his freedom from re-enslavement. Though, sometimes life would come along and simply blow all of your plans away with the winds of destiny. Rain had chosen to spend the day in quiet reflection and training but now found himself embarking on another adventure. This one was simply to help Nai-Ran find the South Capitol and to pick up a few things along the way; all the while nobody stopped to think about their food situation.
"Can't forget the food! I'd die if I went any longer without eating." Rain ran over in his excitement on traveling and brought back his bag full of fruits pulling out two Mangoes." Mangoes were Rain's favorite fruit but he had yet to know their true names so he intentionally avoided every naming it himself. He offered one to Nai-Ran but regardless of her answer; he'd proceed to make small and short work of his own mango. Rain paused for a moment thinking about whether he was missing something but couldn't quite recall what it was.
"A pleasure to meet you as well." Rain could not really tell whether Nai-Ran could be fully trusted yet but she had not given him any reason not too so he had no problem helping out. When he was sure that she'd seen his tail; he withdrew it back within the confines of his shirt and wrapped around his torso. Rain wondered what else Ryashi could do or were known for but figured it would be rude to completely pry into a new potential friend's history or origins so soon so he dropped the thought. When she mentioned it not being bad to be from two different races; Rain nodded slightly but voiced a problem that caused him major concern.
"But the Saiyan's enslaved the Kagami. I don't believe so but for all I know my mother was a slave forced to birth me and that's probably why. . ." He stopped right there as emotion took over his facial expression and body for a moment. It shifted between anger, to sadness and begun to settle in between sadness and grief. He turned away for a moment as he tried to compose himself but the best he could aim for was a rather forced neutral look on his face while still moving forward. "I can't help but think that someone should be out their freeing the rest of my kind and if I ever grow strong enough; it will be none other than me."
Rain probably should have figured her final question was coming. Still that did not make him anymore ready to answer it at all as he clearly hesitated answering the question. "Around Satan city lies an entire network of caves and tunnels that houses many slaves from all over. I. . my first memories were here as I started off as a regular servant slave but when I turned 5; I was thrown in the pits to fight to the death for my owner and his associates pleasure and gambling needs. My only friend in there Ryan, was the only reason I could even escape and be able to speak to you today but it cost his life in the process." After this Rain's walking speed slowed and he would seem rather withdrawn.

”Hmm?” Suddenly, Rain blurted out that that he needed to stop to eat. Nai-Ran was no stranger to the fact that most species seemed to eat multiple times per day. Ryashi simply ate one large meal and they were able to function just fine. She still found it a bit odd, but it didn’t really bother her. Either way, the young woman declined the offered food politely. ”Your gesture is kind, but no thank you. I’ve already eaten today,” she said with a smile. The serpentine lass had made sure to take care of that before setting out to the island. She wouldn’t want to have to stop and do it later on in case she found something exciting while exploring new territory.
The hybrid finished off his piece of fruit quickly. As soon as he had, Nai-Ran prepared to start moving again. However, it would seem that she had hit not just one touchy subject, but two. Oh dear... She hadn’t meant to bring up nature of his parents’ relationship. The young woman had only intended to say that there was nothing wrong with Rain for being of mixed blood. Whether that had been her goal or not, it still brought some nasty emotions to surface judging by the expressions that washed over Rain’s face. Her question regarding where he was from didn’t help either.
Nai-Ran had visited Satan City on multiple occasions. She never would have imagined that something like that might have been so close by. When she had set out on her adventure this morning, she had been adamant about trying to stay away from the areas of Earth that she had already familiarized herself with. Perhaps she would make an exception and do a bit of snooping around Satan City. Nai-Ran listened closely as Rain described his experience as a slave, as well as the fate of his friend. After that, he kind of closed himself up. She couldn’t exactly blame him, either.
The Ryashi slowly turned to face him, her own expression shifting from its usual upbeat appearance into something more somber. ”Yes... While I may be neither Kagami nor Saiyan myself, I’m not unfamiliar with what is going on between the two of them. I’m actually well acquainted with a couple of Kagami that spoke to me of their enslavement, as well as shared their memories with me. It’s a painful situation to say the least,” Nai-Ran explained empathetically. Her crimson eyes dropped to the grass beneath her scales. The young woman had come as close as possible to experiencing the extent of the Saiyans’ control over the Kagami without technically having lived through it herself. That was all thanks to the two extra sets of memories floating around in her mind that weren’t originally hers.
One set belonged to Mimikku, who had offered to share them with Nai-Ran in order to help her grasp a better understanding of the plight of the Kagami. The other belonged to Emer, who had shared them with Nai-Ran when she had purchased his contract. She had never actually ended up freeing him from said contract before he seemingly vanished into thin air. Wherever he was, hopefully he was alright. Still, the way Rain spoke about freeing them bore a striking resemblance to him. Whether being comparable to that part of Emer was good or bad, she wasn’t entirely sure. It was an admirable goal, but one that had the potential to destroy him in the end. Genocide also needed to be avoided.
”My apologies for bringing it up. I’m not sure if it would help at all, but once we’re finished with our business in South Capitol I can try to track down my friend, Mimikku. She’s a Kagami who was also bound by slavery at one point. Whether you feel getting acquainted with another like that might help at all is up to you, though. She and Lilith-” Nai-Ran began to speak, but suddenly stopped herself. She was just now noticing something a bit different about Rain that was different compared to the other Kagami that she had met. Did he have no goddess residing within him? Could only pure blooded Kagami request aid from the goddesses? Perhaps that was for the best, going by why Emer had told her about them. Still, this was a first for her. ”This is going to sound incredibly strange, I’m sure, but is there anyone else residing in your body alongside you?”

Rain pressed forward mentally shuffling away his arising feelings towards his captors to the side. He was a man now and men could carry any weight and keep moving. He felt like his father would be proud of the steps he's taken so far but he had much farther to go. To stand on the precipice of power and not being able to fully claim it as his own yet was infuriating however. A part of him knew even now he needed to be spending his time training; but another part of him was finding it just as good to finally make a friend.
He suspected the Saiyan side of him didn't agree and wondered briefly whether his father had to make the choice between power and friendship upon meeting his mother. Sure it was entirely possible his mother was a simple slave to his father but what person you knew wouldn't want to romanticize the unknown. Utilizing his tail once more to grab a pear out of his pack and toss it around his shoulder for him to catch. Rain really needed some meat but he hadn't ran across any choicer options as rabbits and squirrels were merely a tease. He wanted ideally a family of deer to run across them so he could roast them.
He licked his lips in anticipation of his surely upcoming meal as he heard Nai-Ran began to speak once more. Cocking his head to the side slightly to see her while watching where he was walking as well not wanting to walk into a stray branch. "Thank you. But if you mind I'd rather not speak about it further. I have to keep my focus on the liberation of my people or I'll grow distracted by more human concerns and I'm not even human." He said actually fully realization that no part of him was human at all and yet for the longest time he still considered himself a human. He felt an attachment to this place and it's people because of a false identity. So should he even continue to have those values; he couldn't help but wonder as he took a bite into the pear.
When she mentioned have friends who were fully Kagami and briefly remembering her mention a half Kagami friend; he couldn't help but imagine the pure blood would find him to be an abomination. Or maybe Rain was being overly cynical but then again despite the care free demeanor; Rain was in no way a optimist. "You sure Mimiku wouldn't find what I am unbecoming to put it lightly. Besides she's stronger than me right? Does she not want our people free as well?" Rain couldn't help but wonder why if their were more of them freed; why do their people still lay in chains at the hands of the Saiyans.
To her last question, it was literally so funny he tripped and ended up on the ground. Pulling himself up laughing he looked at Nai-Ran before saying "Yeah, sure and it tells to take you the Ryashi hospital okay?" He couldn't help but lightly tease his new friend somewhat happy the tension was slowly being released from the conversation with lighter tones.

”I suppose that that’s fair enough. It’s really no place for me to be sticking my nose, anyway,” Nai-Ran sighed, still regretting that she brought it up in the first place. Not only had she brought the overall mood between them down, it had completely removed the smile from her face. If she was going to become someone that was capable of governing the Rujju Sands, she still had a lot of work to do at keeping her mask in place at all times. A public figure that other Ryashi were supposed to look up to shouldn’t be caught frowning. ”Just... Please try to be careful in your endeavor, alright?”
With that said, Nai-Ran’s smile returned to her face. It was the best way to combat a somber mood, after all. Rain still sounded a bit down, which was completely understandable. There was no reason she couldn’t try to lift his spirits though. The young woman had always liked to believe that happiness could be even more contagious than sadness. ”Of course I’m sure. Mimikku isn’t like that at all,” she insisted in a matter-of-factly tone. ”It’s as I said. Having parents that belong to two different races is nothing to be ashamed of. As a person, you aren’t shaped by your lineage or your strength. The actions you take are far louder than either of those.” She paused briefly before continuing in a voice that was a bit more serious, but still nearly as upbeat. ”And of course she wants to see the Kagami freed. However, it’s no easy task, especially if you want it done right.”
With the talk of Mimikku and the potential future freedom of the Kagami out of the way, it was time to focus on what had possibly been one of the strangest questions she had ever asked anyone in her life. Apparently Nai-Ran wasn’t the only one who felt that way either. The young woman felt her cheeks flush red with embarrassment as Rain started laughing so hard that he had completely lost his balance and fell flat on his back. Normally the serpentine lass would have offered her hand for him to pull himself up with and ask him if he was alright, but all she really wanted to do was hide in the coils of her tail. Besides, he was apparently fine since at no point did he stop laughing.
”That’s not what I meant at all...” she said quietly after he had climbed back to his feet, tossing her gaze to the side so that her eyes didn’t meet his face. Rain clearly didn’t have any idea what she had been talking about. Maybe it was best to leave that part up to Mimikku if she ever ended up introducing the two of them. It was obvious that she was out of her element here.
”Hey, you said you wanted me to teach you more about Earth, right? Is there anything in particular that you wanted to know?” Nai-Ran asked, hastily trying to change the subject. Her cheeks were still a little red from his response to her previous question, but she was trying to ignore any lingering embarrassment. Thankfully it started to fade a little faster as she continued to make her way through the island brush. ”I’ve only lived here for a short while, but I’ll do my best to give you whatever information I can.”

When Nai-Ran still insisted that he be careful with his endeavors; he couldn't help but feel like an asshole for what he'd said to her. It made him feel hit with a sudden wave of shyness as his nerves temporarily welled up in knots inside him. He couldn't help but wonder why she traveling to South Capitol; she'd probably told him several times already but Rain couldn't be bother to remember his age half the time. Memory and a sense of direction were two of Rain's many weakness though, those two he seems not to care much about. Still knowing that he should probably respond to what she said "I'll try and I'm thankful for your concern." He said with a light smile once again trying to return the conversation to a lighter tone.
Rain also felt kind of out of his league when speaking to Nai-Ran. He could tell she wasn't speaking down on him but she didn't understand that he couldn't under about 45 percent of what she was saying. Certain words were beyond him and he felt bad about his own ignorance as he's not naturally ignorant simply never educated. Still this time she used enough words that he finally understood what she was speaking about when mentioning being of two lineages. Though, it should be noted that he still does not exactly know what lineage means so he's liable to trip over it later. "Well then the both of us should definitely meet. If she's already strong like you, all I have to do is get stronger and we can free our people easily."
Rain considered asking Nai-Ran for her assistance but he was starting to see that though she was strong. To a certain extent, she couldn't see how far Rain was willing to take his ambitions and goals on. Which is why when Rain first made this his life goal; he knew that he'd potentially be holding this weight on his own shoulders alone. Still with a look over and seeing the expression on his face he suddenly felt a little bad for laughing at her hearing voices in her head. Such things was actually serious and he made a mental note to force Nai-Ran to see a doctor as soon as possible.
To answer her final question caused Rain to have grow serious for a moment. It was rather sad that he needed to focus to remember something so recent. "Well I suppose I can't live in the wilderness forever so I need to learn how to buy a house. Also I can't really read or understand what your saying half the time." Now it was time for Rain to be embarrassed as now the shoe was on the other foot. But wait Ryashi don't wear shoes. . . .

Nai-Ran was glad to hear that her words didn’t fall on deaf ears. That was better than nothing, especially since the matter wasn’t really her business, right? Rain was also open to meeting Mimikku. The Kagami woman might have been able to help Rain far more than she ever could have. Not only had Mimikku been a slave at one point in her life as well, but she could possibly discuss efforts already made by Ruto, as well as some other like-minded Saiyans, towards freeing the Kagami. Hopefully she wouldn’t mind too terribly much about being volunteered for something like this.
The young woman listened closely as Rain elaborated on what he wanted to know. Acquiring a house was easy enough to do. However, Nai-Ran was a bit surprised when he mentioned his inability to read, as well as his difficulty in following parts of their conversation so far. He was illiterate? She hadn’t really thought about that. It made sense though, considering his upbringing. Rain had been made to do nothing but fight other slaves from an incredibly young age. Of course whoever was behind such an atrocious act wouldn’t have had a proper education in mind for him.
”A house is simple enough to take care of. There’s not much of a learning process to it; it’s just a matter of getting enough money together to afford one. You see, humans sell these tiny capsules in certain stores. All you have to do is press a button and throw them to a ground, and a house will appear. I’m not sure about the science behind it, but they’re truly a sight to see,“ Nai-Ran explained. She still remembered the first time she had laid eyes on such devices during her first trip to Satan City. Perhaps she should look into purchasing one for herself. While the serpentine lass still had Emer’s capsule house tucked away in her pocket, she wouldn’t have felt right using it without him around. For now it was simply a keepsake that she would hold onto in case she ever saw him again.
”I’m not much of a teacher when it comes to basic education. If I end up saying something that you don’t understand, I encourage you to stop me and ask me to try to explain whatever it is that I just said. My apologies for my inconsideration,“ she said with a small bow. Old habits hard to break, especially considering that it was something her father expected her to improve upon by the time she eventually returned home. Flowery speech wasn’t the most important thing she was to improve upon, but it certainly didn’t hurt given the nature of the position she had been trained for. A good vocabulary helped give those that she as to govern a better sense that she knew what she was doing when it came time to take father’s place. She would try to tone it down, but couldn’t make any promises.
As they continued to move through the thick brush, Nai-Ran looked up to see that the sky was getting gloomier. The once puffy, white clouds that drifted overhead were starting to darken into more of a dull grey. The young woman could feel herself grimace before quickly regaining her smile, even if the arrival of such dark clouds wasn’t anything to be cheerful over as far as she was concerned. While she had spent most of her time in desert so far, she had taken enough trips out of it to discover the phenomenon known as ‘rain’. Having nothing to do with the man she was currently wandering along with, Nai-Ran was no fan of having water dripping on her from the sky. First the boat and now this? The Ryashi suddenly found herself significantly less excited about exploring. Oh well, she had already come this far. It was about to get awfully uncomfortable for her, but there wasn’t much of a point in stopping. ”Aww, that’s a shame. I was enjoying the sunny weather,“ she commented, still trying to at least sound like she was still carried a cheerful attitude. Seriously though, why did Earth have to have so much water on it?
