Finally! Another match with two legible names! Capper couldn't help but to sigh in relief.
He breathed in, giving the next two his most dramatic and flashy announcer voice.
"In the Middle League, we have Captain Nova fighting Pieter Wolfbane! Yay!"
ROUND ONE of the Minor League's Multiversal Tournament has begun! Player Versus Player Matches have a set 48 hour timer for posts. Failing to post in time will result in disqualification. After ten days pass (*10 minutes IC), if a knockout, ring out, and so on is not accomplished, judges will decide a winner. Without further adieu, get to punching each other. |

"Alright... Here we go!"Pieter's name being called out, the hunter climbed on stage, giving plenty of space between where he assumed Nova would show up! He was a bit of a showman, after all, with his superheroing. As he did, he heard the feint voice of one of the Jala's if the universe. Considering how she spoke, the hunter figired this was that Universe 10 one... Probably in a drunken stupor once more! "Girl's got issues... Am I an jackass in that other universe," the Hunter thought aloud. He straightened his posture and crossed his arms, anticipating the Immaculate Captain Nova to arrive on stage! A 'crackoom' filled the arena as one of the many alternates of the world famous 'Captain Nova' would soar through the air "GREETINGS CITIZENS! THE HERO OF THE COSMOS IS HERE!" He called out with a big grin as he swooped around the edge of the arena while getting a few cheers before he landed down on the ground before the wild saiyan. He pointed toward him, a big grin stretching from ear to ear as he placed a hand on his hip. "....AND IT'S TIME TO THROW DOWN! COME WOLFBANE!" As soon as the gauntlet was thrown the crowd erupted in a cheer as the world's greatest hero made his entrance. The costumed crusader got into his stance as he got ready for the upcoming match. The air was electric, and the hero couldn't contain himself as he was brimming with excitement. It was like he was living in a video game! The lights, the sounds, everything was causing him to pulse with power. When both fighters were ready: the giant screen above them would ask 'Are you ready? 3...2...1 FIGHT!"
As soon as the timer went down: Nova exploded with a golden aura and flew toward Pieter. With a furious roar he'd pull his clenched fist back before throwing it toward his jaw. Despite the fact that he was going to come to blows with a strong foe the hero couldn't help but keep smiling. This was gonna be a good fight.

A increasingly impatient Pieter stood alone in the ring, pondering to the whereabouts of his opponent! Was he chatting with one of the other universe versions of himself, Pieter would question in his head. He had been Pieter's opponent, after all! The hunter hoped it wouldn't be a repeat of the tournament from years ago, where his opponents would default from not showing! The crack of thunder filled the arena, a smile briefly appearing on his face! Nova appeared, circling the ring and playing the showman. He stopped in front of Pieter, a grin as wide as he could mister upon him, as he pointed at Pieter. It invigorated the antsy crowd, an uproar of excitement deafening each other in the crowd. "I was beginning to wonder if you were getting to caight up chatting with one of the other yous, or someone else," Pieter retorted, a golden aura erupting around him and blowing the air back, "Glad I was wrong! Now come at me... Nova!"As soon as it started, the superhero rushed forward in a golden aura! Pieter poised himself, seeing a fist rushing forward to his jaw. He slugged his left fist forward, his body crouched with feet at shoulder length. Their fists collided, bringing forth a massive gust of air that blew into the stands and baffled the crowds! A barrier was formed around the stadium to only keep the blasts and gusts from afflicting the crowd. Pieter remained in place, his fist against Nova's for a moment. He withdrew it, before stepping in and attempting to wrap it back around Nova's arm and yank it, so his arm would lock in place! Pieter's style was something Nova would have to learn, or else it would lead to a quick loss for him! Pieter's free hand and tail remained at the ready, to anticipate the reaction of this warrior. ( Nicolas Mclendon matching your fist, before going in to try wrapping the punching arm with my own and yanking to lock it up!) |

As soon as the hero's arm was snared by the hunter he instantly dropped to a crouch. He was used to snags and snares (some of them to his cape while he was flying) and was ready to break out if need be. As the golden saiyan tightened his grip the experienced hero launched into a fearsome counterattack! While it was true he had no idea what Pieter fought like the same was true for the hunter! It was an even playing field!
"You are quick on your feet! But I've learned much becoming the worlds greatest hero of all time!" He beamed, his voice only seeming to contain unbridled enthusiasm and determination. "The first thing I learned was to always keep smiling! Even in the face of adversity! SO PREPARE YOURSELF!"
So unless Pieter released his arm, Nova would turn his body to where his arm was most slack and attempt to send a chop to his mid section before sending another to his neck, hopefully the force of both attacks would force him to recoil. If he was freed he'd do a triple back flip before returning to his stance.

Nova went limp to loosen Pieter's lock? Bold and risky, not too unlike Pieter! It gave him the chance to send a couple of chops at Pieter's neck and mid section. The force of strikes were great, with Pieter's free hand blocking each. It loosened his arm enough for Nova to slip out, performing a triple back flip away from Pieter! "Not bad," Pieter complimented, taking the opportunity to rush Nova just as he got settled, "But I've seen better!"Pieter got back in reach with his brisk sprint, choosing to give a few quick jabs from his left once more, each aimed fairly high. The head, collar bones, and his neck were the targets, and at the end of it, he pivoted back to send his left foot spinning to Nova's rib cage with an re-approaching twirl. ( Nicolas Mclendon blocking the attacks with the right hand, to charge you with a series of high jabs with a wild looking kick, all coming from Pieter's left side!) |

The star clad hero brought his arms up to block against the barrage of jabs that the savage super saiyan had thrown his way. Each fist pounded against his forearms creating a reverberating boom throughout the air. He flew backward, trying to avoid the barrage by pulling back but Pieter's onslaught was relentless. Before he could counterattack: he'd suddenly feel the mighty kick to his side. Nicolas grit his teeth as he tried to keep himself braced but eventually crumpled under the force of the kick. With a bit of a pathetic yelp, the hero would suddenly feel himself lift off the ground from the roundhouse causing him to twirl into the air like a top.
Before he hit the ground however: he'd catch himself, much to the shocked awe of the crowd, and reorient himself with a back flip. "Not bad yourself! I've come to blows with titans and fiends! THIS IS JUST ANOTHER WALK IN THE PARK!" He cried out as he suddenly exploded with energy. His grin grew (if that was even possible) as his ki began to swirl around him in the shape of a sphere. "I guarantee by the end of this..." He smirked, crossing his arms over his chest as the ki began to build and swirl. He outstretched his limbs as the sphere expanded to trap himself in the golden dome.
"...You'll be seeing STARS!"
He suddenly closed the distance with his dash attempting to crash into him with his 'Shooting Star Strike'

The fists Pieter hurled at Nova were blocked, but it was having clear effect on Nova! When Pieter's kick was unleashed upon Nova, the superhero was in retreat. A yelp of pain after, Nova was spiraling through the air! Pieter set his feet down, watching the hero come to a halt on the ground. A grin that looked like it could rip his own face formed on the superhero, as he spouted not only a compliment, but also about how he'd come to blows with monsters and that this was nothing, as he rushed down Pieter with that brilliant golden glow. Pieter laughed, fixing up his position with the left side brought back and energy pooling in! "I've fought and beaten monsters and titans at only the age of 16, Nova," Pieter retorted, his energy ramping up like a powering jet engine, "It's been my life for the last ten years... And you fit right into that category!"Right as Nova was about a meter away, Pieter hurled his fist forward, a thunderous howl coming to life as a formless power shot from Pieter's hand! It collided with Nova's barrier, knocking the barrier back with equal force and also Pieter in the process! The hunter skidded back, crunching the floor of the arena with his toes to force himself to stop. "Any moment now, he's gotta realize I've been attacking with my left side and defending with my right," Pieter thought to himself, excluding his Thunder's Howl usage, "If I can get him to think something is wrong with it, I should be able to get in a good enough shot to win this..!"( Nicolas Mclendon you're up!) |

The explosion of force between the two attacks colliding was enough to knock both warriors back but not enough to stagger either of them. The caped crusader, seeing that his physical assaults weren't working, decided instead to take to the skies. It was where he felt most comfortable after all! So with a wide smirk and a dizzying twirl, he'd fly up high above the warrior and let his dazzling aura sparkle and flare around his form. He crossed his arms before looking down.
"FAIR CITIZENS! DO YOU HAVE SUNGLASSES?" He cried out as he pointed to the sky eliciting a cheer from the bystanders. He snapped his fingers at the start before doing a spin while he held his forehead as he swung his other arm back. Once his pose was finished: he'd pop out of the goofy stance and hold his arms back. Sparkles of light would swirl and flicker in his palms before forming into golden bolts of ki.
"CAUSE IT'S GONNA GET BRIGHT!"
With that he'd hurl a torrent of ki blasts down upon the hunter. Sparks of golden energy streaked through the air raining down on him from all angles! The whistling bolts of ki snaked through the air before crashing down on the ground. While the bulk of them were directed at Pieter more than a few missed and hit the ground around him.
"PEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEW!" His voice rung out as each bolt was hurled.

Nova didn't seem very much affected, like Pieter, and decided to go airborne against the hunter. Pieter remained on the ground, waiting on the Superhero to make his next move. Nova shouted out if the crowd had sun glasses, before raining down an effective meteor shower upon Pieter! The hunter got to moving on the ground again, the blasts trailing behind him as Nova gave the shots verbal sound effects! Pieter launched upward, deciding that it was time to meet him up there. "That won't help you, Nova," Pieter shouted, bringing his left hand forward to shoot out ki blasts as he spiraled closer to Nova! His targets were the blasts that were angling too much to his direction. He didn't have to shoot them all down, as the 'bullets' would cease soon enough! The hunter reached Nova in a matter of seconds, blasting another 'gunshot' out of the way before hurling a his left leg at Nova's gut through the smoke. Pieter wasn't about to let the superhero get enough to breathe and recover! ( Nicolas Mclendon Pieter sees Nova's attack and aims to rush him down, blasting any of the shots nearing him out of the way as he spirals towards Nova and sends a kick at his gut!) (KP: 3/3) |

The sound of the kick meeting flesh filled the arena with a mighty 'BOOM!' as once more Nova felt himself on the receiving end of the hunter's spinning roundhouse kick. Once more the kick had struck true but unlike last time: Pieter's kick didn't send Nova flying as it had before. In fact: the crusader had braced himself, almost as if he were anticipating it! Despite feeling himself crumple slightly under the force Nicolas did his best to keep himself straight as the foot remained embedded into his side. A bit of spittle escaped his mouth as he fought back a cough but he kept his grin wide despite everything. "N-not bad! BUT IT'S PREDICTABLE! I'VE GOT YOU RIGHT WHERE I WANT YOU!" He said making sure to coat his body once more in that golden ki as it swirled around him to form the dome again. "ONCE MORE! SHOOTING STAR STRIKE!"
The hero roared out as he covered himself in a sphere of energy. Given the distance between the two: Captain Nova would be on top of him in a second. If Pieter didn't do anything: Captain Nova would smash into him with his dashing tackle and ki dome. The flying tackle would send the two of them into the ground before the ki dome would rupture and explode adding more damage to the attack.
Nicolas was already feeling the pain. His body ached all over and he was beginning to believe that he wasn't going to be able to win without pulling out the big guns. Frustration boiled in his heart and despite his grin there was something more violent and vicious about his movements.

Irritation! A sign that Pieter's strategy was working! Nova, despite that glamorous display in his fighting, was getting affected by Pieter's counters with only his left side. He pointed out that he was being really predictable, and Pieter could only hold back his smile in anticipation. He had dealt a notable blow to Nova with his kick, even if he was charging at him once more like a renegade star. This time around, though, Pieter would have to dodge instead of compete with the Super Hero's attack! Pieter's image flickered right as Nova rushed down into him. There was a very brief connection upon Pieter's skin: the hot air surrounding Nova was easily felt! However, Nova would come to realize the Super Hybrid had left his position as he smashed through Pieter's image! "Close, but no cigar," Pieter taunted, his voice coming from back down below, near the ground! He wanted to make the hero a bit more irrational, predictable. He continued, pointing up with a grin and hand on his hip, "Of course, I've been quite predictable so far and you must've realized it by now, too..!"He put his right hand behind his back, the left hand leading once more and waving for Nova to come at him again! ( Nicolas Mclendon Pieter uses [SU1] After-Image to dodge the [N1] Shooting Star Strike and taunts Nova to come at him near the ground, shifting his stance and hands so only the left is up front!) This wasn't over. As the caped crusader flew THROUGH the savage saiyan's after image he merely furrowed his brow beneath his helmet and pushed onward. For in that moment: he ignored everything. The crowds, the taunting, even the countdown of the jumbo screen faded into white nose at the back of his mind as he just took a moment to breath. He blocked out everything: and focused. He had to remember why he had been here...Why he was fighting as hard as he was...What was at stake... It was his chance to claim his happy ending. A chance to finally have something go right in his life but now the chance was fading. The hopes and dreams he held were slipping further and further from his grasp. But... He... Pushed... Forward... In an all or nothing burst: Nicolas took the acute frustration that pounded in his heart and used it as the kindling to ignite his very soul. In the very last moments on the clock he let his energy flare as he yelled his final cry. "STAR POWER EXTEND!" His boot barely touched on the ground before his aura ignited with a renewed vigor. With another burst of speed he reached the hunter with a cool grin as he focused the ki into his arm as he pulled it back. "Right or left, it doesn't matter where you try and attack me from...Because like JUSTICE I cannot be deterred and I only move....FORWARD!" "HERE I GO! BIG. DIPPER. UPPER!" He called out as he attempted to use all of his momentum and ki to throw his legendary uppercut toward Pieter's jaw.

"It does matter," Pieter called out, Nova realing Pieter being on the ground and charging at him! The energy permiating from Nova... It was his last attack! Then so, too, shall Pieter take this time to show the difference between the two. Pieter brought his right hand up, a brilliantly kindling energy wrapping around it like fighter's tape. He muttered, as Nova approached, "Here comes the tooth of the Wolf!"The hunter bolted a hook out, his punch not going to meet Nova's fist. It shot for the cool grin that the Super hero had! All the same came the gloved fist of the Super hero, smashing into his cheek! The impact from the two connecting sounded like a rocket launching into orbit. A massive shockwave developed from the two heroes smacking each other could barely be contained by the barrier. The impact carried with it crunching bones, a sound that didn't go dismissed..! The shockwaves of energy kicked up a great amount of dust... Who was still standing at the end of this high octane battle? ( Nicolas Mclendon using Wolf Tooth and Claw (UP2, Style, Splittable) to send a massively empowered hook at your grinning jaw of yours! Let's see who's won this!)

Despite some people leaving due to Nova's lateness, this match was a short, yet entertaining one.
After a short talk, a conclusion was decided upon.
