I was reading some other threads about people wanting to add a little more umph to the kp system/combat in general, but most of the tweaks are more like overhauls that don't work well with current mechanics. An easy bit of spice would be to simply give everyone a "bonus kp". Put simply, once per thread a fighter can get a 1 kp boost from their current total (which they can immediately use to take an action).
And that is it. No frills, no extra mechanics, no numbers to track, no gaining additional whatevers. The bonus point is gone for the thread once you've used it. Gives a chance for epic and unexpected moments and tactical choice without becoming annoyingly mechanical.
It could be fun. Or maybe it would suck. Food for thought.

I’m pretty sure they have a better combat system in place, or something along those lines, which hopefully doesn’t revolve around KP. Correct me if I’m wrong.

KP will remain as the main mechanic concerning fights in Turbo, although you are right in the fact that it'll be much better and more refined as it is here.
My suggestion is to not worry about it all too much, as the idea of higher KP pools and more dynamic battles are certainly being played around with. I can't share too much, mostly because I'm not part of the Turbo Dev team, but I can promise that the combat will be a lot more fresh and dynamic.

I'll be honest, I like the concept. Not to spoil too much, but I had developed an item with similar functionality. Making it a technique anyone can employ, or perhaps making it a racial trait, could be interesting. It'd make certain fighters scary, for sure. I will, at the very least, approve of this idea. Not sure if we'll employ it, but I like it
