I think we should have a system where much like the dbz world. I think our powerlevel should be hidden oocly and our power ups like x20 etc.
The reason why, for one it would be realistic and two, once we enter combat, we can toggle our power levels on. Idk but I think it’s a cool way to do it. Plus I did see a site at one point hide all the android bios into a private section so that their powerlevels would be hidden. I mean it would be cool to have this system in my opinion but It doesn’t matter to me if it isn’t implemented. Just a suggestion is all.
Here's the issue with this, Not only are we canonly known to be able to tell exact PL's unless someone is suppressing it, But we also would be in a situation where you fire off an attack, or get hit by one, and have literally no idea how much damage it actually does. It could be nothing, or it could be enough to vaporize you, but you wouldn't know that because you don't know what anything's PL is even with Ki Sensing which not only breaks immersion but fucks with everything.

If we did this, then what would be the point of moves like Ki Suppression or Ki Setting which allow you to hide your powerlevel IC? The idea already exists, you just need a tech slot to do it. If this were realistic, then it'd remain the same way, because the Earthlings don't know how to drop their power, and (iirc) it took gohan a month to properly set his ki, so flavor could be added to learn the move later down the road since you're unable to hide it until you do.
Another thing is that if you get attacked and no one knows what's coming at them, do they just assume the damage it'll do? If someone with 500,000 PL fights someone with 60,000 and are boasting about being tough so the 500k uses his full power and the 60k just gets deleted?
Lastly, what would the purpose of Ki Sensing and scouters be if you can't tell anyways?
In summary, this idea would only cause confusion. It's better to leave it out in the open and know OOC but not IC. Just DON'T CHEAT...
Simple no from me. There's a LOT of issues with your proposition, but there are honestly so many that I don't even know where to begin. From balancing, to confusion, to administrative issues...Yeah, no. Sorry
In all honesty, I get where you're coming from. I thought it was stupid at first to begin with, how none of the multipliers were in line, how the power levels were so much lower than they should be, but when I finally realized how BATSHIT INSANE things would be... I kinda stopped having my dreams of 40,000,000,000,000 PL.
