Chapter 1: The Frozen North.
The Frozen North of Earth, said to be used by many people as a place of meditation, this place was the first of Earth’s many landscape to catch the sight of Escar, the young Namekian with vision of glory. His landing pod had left him in the middle in an island in the far north of the planet, where barely any life could be sustained without the help of Ki. The landscapes of snow and ice were wonderful, and at first, the young Namekian had some trouble with the blue sky, it didn’t make any sense, not more than the blue water, why would it be so different? Was it even the same kind of water? He had no idea! It could be some kind of poison humans were used to since they live with it for too long, evolution does bring up some crazy stuff sometimes, we never know what surprise it can bring us next! Escar didn’t wasted to much time in this place, he sensed that nobody was there and didn’t wasted more time looking at this place, he had to get accommodated to the people of this planet, so staying in one deserted place was not really in his priorities right now.
Quickly enough, using his flying techniques that was base for all Namekian in any of the castes, he traveled a long distance south in order to hit North Capitol, the first city he had ever visited on Earth. Upon arrival, the Namekian barely got any weird look, of course the human children were looking at him like the alien he was, but they weren’t freaked out by him at all, they even came closer and laughed a bit at his weird clothing, he was still wearing his old Dragon Clan training clothes, he needed nothing more for now, he didn’t want to change them now anyway! The one thing that he would really notice that was surprising was the technological wonders they were doing to be able to grow some life into the cold soil of this place; of course, it was in interior, but their technology was astounding, nothing like the tree-grower back in Namek, they were doing it the good old way, they could never survive in a place like this. Escar stayed one day in this city, he slept, meditating, on top of a building, he wasn’t bothering anyone but in the morning, he was told to leave, which he did, time to get to another location.
This time, the movement south of the young Namekian would be stopped by a huge mountain that was so tall, he could barely see the peak and he was flying! It immediately got the curiosity of the young male that went to discover the secrets of the place. There was not too much to see in that place, it was completely desert, but certainly, it was a beautiful sigh at the top of it. The Namekian stayed and meditated a bit on the peak of the huge formation. It’s a bit silly, but being this high in the sky, he felt like he could see Namek from here, not that he was missing it that much, but he wondered if everyone was okay; despite his quick departure, he cared about his village an the people inside, and deep within, he knew that one day, he’d have to return to it, but when he’d do, he’ll want to show them just how much he’s grown, how strong he’s become and how his goals are accomplished, at least partially, so no way he’s going back soon. Escar quickly discarded those though, he had time to get to his first goal, knowing this place, and it wasn’t going to be done if he was to stop and meditate at every single mountain he’d found and think about Namek while there.
Finally done with the snow, Escar was not in a strange rock-formation called a ‘wasteland’ in the terms of the humans. It was like a plain back on Namek, but everything was the color of sand and there were huge rocks coming off the ground and forming shaped. The Namekian could see that this place had history, many formations seemed to be destroyed, and it wasn’t yesterday’s work, it has been there for centuries maybe. He quickly looked around, see if he could notice anything strange with the place, but the only thing he found were most traces of old and newer battles, obviously, this place had close to none trace of life, too many battles had occurred here, the wild life would never risk living here if there were any other choices, the nature knows when she’s defeated, should it be temporary, but he’d remember this place if a duel would ever occur to him, it would be a great place to reduce causalities. Without further notice, Escar left the wasteland, nothing it in his mind, he could come her to train also, rocks make surprisingly good target practice, should he decide to one day learn a few ways to use Ki offensively.
Next on the map was a small village that almost looked more like a Namekian one than a human one, it seemed it was a more primitive village where humans were closer to their roots than the type of habitation he had previously seen in the city known as South Capitol. Easy to impress, Escar went down in the village and began to explore it a bit, a lot of interesting stuff was everywhere, people telling stories, rumors about defenders of this planet and more! Escar would definitively come back to this place if he ever needed to hear about Earth’s old story, maybe he could even hear about a guardian of Earth? It would be neat to see if someone had done the job before him, or maybe even would be doing the job as he came, you never know what awaits you, but Escar was going to make the bests of it! When the night came, Escar felt real fatigue, tonight he needed a place to really crash. In exchange of his healing power, Escar was given a room where he could sleep, all he had to do was to get rid of some lower sickness that had taken some of the children, which he did with pleasure, and his ‘magic’ was well appreciated by the village, they invited him to come back when he would want, which was heart-warming for the young Namekian, he already had a place to come back on this planet.
Central Capitol, now that was the first real slap to the green face of the young Namekian tourist that was Escar; not only the city was enormous, but the population of planet Namek could probably be contained in only one of those immense building he was seeing, and the people in the street, it was almost a scary sigh to see so many people in masses moving at the same speed, so much so that Escar got a shiver in his spine, this was going to be his first challenge, blending with the masses. The young Namekian landed near the city’s limits and walked simply into it, it was better to blend in doing what everyone was doing than to be flying above them, it wouldn’t be very immersive wouldn’t it? It took a few hours for Escar to get accommodated with the mass of people around him, but his training to keep his mind cool made it easier, and after a while, he was navigating like he wanted in the city and started to visit places and monuments he'd think were important, like that huge castle that apparently was the house of Earth’s leader, he would be drawn to it, but for now, he had to gain some importance to be worth of their time, and right now, even him, with his limited ki-sensing, could feel some people on the planet that were so high on power-level, it wasn’t even funny to him, people so strong could exist, and it meant that he could get that power too if he tried hard enough! The more challenge he has, the stronger he would get, and soon enough, he’d start to reach his goals, one by one. After a while, Escar started to fly again, it could help him get around easy, and he had lived the feeling of being on the ground enough. He got some view of the city from far up and then went away, he would come back, he had all the time in the world, but now, he wanted to see it all at least once.
Chapter 2: The Eastern Lands
His prayers were answered, well, that’s what he first though, as Escar’s next location appeared to be a peaceful forest made mostly of bamboo, this kind of tree that was awkwardly odd-looking, so he felt compelled to get down and resource himself a bit, first mistake of his Earth life. Not even a few minutes after he closed his eyes to meditate new a waterfall that a huge bear came in roaring, attacking the Namekian like the predator it was. Escar had the time to open his eyes and lock the bear’s paw in place; he lacked training, but he still has his reflexes, he wasn’t going to fall off easily as some people would think, but so did the forest, and after barely connecting one punch on the bear’s nose, wolves appeared and even a giant reptilian bug. Escar understood that he wasn’t welcomed in this forest and, not without fighting the big bird who seemed to want to kill it there, would leave this area, clearly noting his in head that he could come back stronger to test his strength. He was even attacked on his way over the forest, many times, and he had to use his flying skill to its finest to outsmart or out speed the creature of this forsaken wood of doom.
The next zone was a green plain with a few big structures roaming through the fields, seemingly harvesting the plants on it’s way; Escar quickly understood that this is where the food that was transformed and distributed in East Capitol came mostly from this region, which seemed to be an agricultural heaven. The Namekian grabbed a few fruits on his way above this area, he knew this place was important, but not worth visiting for now, it was much more of a ‘personal’ place than a monument he needed to know about. It was also Escar’s first introduction to Earth’s food; Namekians don’t need to eat, only to drink, and before then, that’s what he has been doing, but when he ate that fruit, the sweet taste and nice texture quickly had reason of this ‘need over desire’ thing that was going on, he was certainly going to deepen his knowledge about Earth’s food as quickly as possible, after all, he had to blend in, so if people on this planet ate this food, he had to do it too, it was all part of his integration in this society… or at least he wanted to convince himself of that.
After the large farmable plain of the Spinach Wastes came Satan City, another huge city that could easily contain the population of Namek casually blended into the skyline like a sculpture of architectural genius! This time though, Escar’s attention got taken by something he was looking forward to, a school! Indeed, seeing the place where humans were getting their education, it seemed so different than back home, nothing in common at all, it was this large group of buildings that people were moving in-between, he’d have to blend in one of those one day, just to see if it could help him learn more about this planet, but again, for now, he didn’t wanted to settle somewhere, he had to keep looking around the planet, and now that Satan city was done, it was time to head south, and many more places were waiting for him to come, many things to see, many places to explore and many occasion he’d be introduce to that he would note to himself in order to accomplish then later. Escar roamed a bit in Satan City, some golden statue of a strange-looking man doing two ‘peace’ sign on each side, arms wide open, was making him feel unconfortable, maybe this was Earth’s ancient hero? Why would they make him look so ridiculous in this pose? Maybe he was a fool and people are mocking him? Escar read the plate, Satan… so the city was named after this guy? Who looked ridiculous? Now that’s a peculiar story he would like to get the full version of someday.
Chapter 3: Southern Island
It was the dead of night when Escar finally set foot in South Capitol, a few days after Satan City where he had explored a bit of the ocean, apparently, he could get away with drinking some of it, at least the rest of it wasn’t mortal, but not good to drink, it is always good to know that sort of information when on a new planet, and he wanted the answer now so he’d get his idea straight and would get sick in the wrong moment. While Escar was roaming the empty streets of South Capitol, he quickly got attacked by thug, people who clearly had problem, he could read in their eyes, they didn’t want to do this, ask him for money, they had to, they needed it badly, but this wasn’t the way to do. Escar knocked the two men down with swift blows, they weren’t ki users, they were barely a challenge with their primitive weapon that shot pieces of weak metal. All this travelling, helping people and moving had already gotten Escar stronger physically, he could easily feel it, and it felt great! The rest of South Capitol felt weird, Escar even got some weird proposition from all kind of people in the streets, either for games for money, strange liquids and more, he preferred to know what this kind of thing was before, plus he didn’t have much time, he’s come back one day, just to be sure, when he’d know better, he wasn’t easily trickable after all, he knew when people had bad intentions.
Next stop in Escar’s journey was a small island isolated, but nonetheless interesting, as he could see some unique features and strange monuments he wanted to explore. The young Namekian unknowingly landed in the middle of the fighting ground, only realizing what it was afterward. Looking around him with a bit of a smile, Escar nodded to himself. ‘’ If my Earthling’s reading isn’t so bad, this is the place where they settle who is the strongest fighter on Earth… interesting, so they have this kind of competition after all! I might participate one day, though I’d have to make huge progress and be sure to be able to win at least one round, it would be a shame to just be ejected from the tournament in the first round, and that is not part of my main goal on Earth, but it’s probably a lot of fun.’’ He would speak to himself, realizing it has been a while since he practiced Earth’s speaking language, he might have a few difficulties with it, but he should be fine, worst he could have is either to be asked to repeat or the humans would notice that the green aliens with antennas are not from Earth and don’t speak their language perfectly, which shouldn’t be that of a shocker. Escar took the time while he was here to practice a few martial-art move he learned when he was young, he had not lost much of his talent, he was a prodigy in learning after all, and after that little warm-up, he went back in track, nothing to do here anymore.
Another great mountain, Escar was actually wondering if there was another, but the Mount Paozu was a great example to prove him wrong! Though this mountain, or chain of mountains, was much more welcoming than the previous one, it had plants, animals running around, lakes… everything he’d love for a place to maybe settle done sometime! He landed near a small pond, he was thirsty and it was the perfect place to make a real halt, maybe even pass the night, it seemed to be peaceful enough. When he landed, he first satisfied his thirst, and then filled up a small gourd he was keeping with him, it was very practical that one of the only things necessary for his survival was so easy to carry, not like humans, there is just so many space you can use for your food, but water? Easy to carry and to consume everywhere, even in mid fight! The Namekian then went on a walk, nothing with a real goal, but since he decided to spend the night here, he might as well do some exploring! He came across a few animals, mostly peaceful, a bunch fled at his sigh, others didn’t seem to care at all and kept doing what they were doing without a flinch. At Nightfall, Escar went back to the spot he landed near the pond and took a bath while the moon was up, he read about this kind of ‘midnight bath’ when he was back at South Capitol, maybe this was it? After a while, he fell asleep, sitting in low water and his back against the border of the pond.
The day after, Escar travelled in the zone around Mount Paozu, it was a desolated wasteland that had nothing really to see except that it was a huge desert with huge animal bone laying around, probably a cemetery for some extinct enormous creature. The Namekian landed near a few of those amount of bones, he could even have seen, with some of them, the shape of what the creature would have looked like if it was still standing proud. He took a moment to give those creatures some respect, they were once just like him, discovering this land, and they probably ended up here for the lack of other path to take… and it was their undoing… Escar then used his ki-sense to see if there was any life-form in this wasteland… and there wasn’t… it was a dead wasteland with nothing but remains of previous life that used to probably inhabit it… probably the saddest place on Earth… The Namekian didn’t waste any time to leave this enormous land of the dead that was kind of depressing him, if there was anything he could do about it, he would, but for now, he had to leave it here and never go back there again, he didn’t want to, unlike snowy or rocky wasteland, this one looked more like a cemetery, and he didn’t want any of that in his life on Earth.
Chapter 4: Western Frontiers
The Western frontier that connected with the Diablo Desert what another desert… to Escar’s bad luck, though this one had a few little details that would make Escar a little more eager to explore this one. First, there was this strange thing he would sense with his ki sensing, some kind of mystical mystery, something he couldn’t say if it was alive of not, but it had it’s own energy signature, but the nature of the signature was telling Escar that he wasn’t ready yet, it was first stronger than him, and second he felt it didn’t especially wanted to be found by someone with intention differing from it’s own, so Escar wouldn’t risk paying a visit to the small palace he could see in the distance but seemingly not get closer to… not that he would try in the first place, it was creeping him out… who would want to live in the middle of a desert? And build a palace nonetheless, was it a whole family? Or maybe… it could be Earth’s guardian living here! Away from everything, seemingly impossible to reach… this would fit the criteria for a Guardian’s lookout, plus, from there, he would have the view cleared to his telepathy and clairvoyance! But if the Guardian didn’t wish to have company for now, he wouldn’t insist, and if it wasn’t Earth’s guardian, whelp, another good reason to not disturb who or whatever was living or not living in this place.
A Forest for a change! Now that was welcomed knowing Escar’s last two destinations, he could finally see some life and not be creeped out by mysterious power signature almost threatening him just by existing. Fukurou forest was a large forest, and it was nice to get back in touch with nature after this almost-traumatising event he just lived, so he stopped flying and decided he would go this one by foot, what could be nicer than that right? He found a small road that apparently when in the general direction he wanted to go anyway so there wasn’t going to be any difficulties there. Escar walked for the whole day, playing around a bit with his surroundings, it was quite welcoming until he tripped over a small string and was attacked by some weirdos in black clothing hiding everything. The jumped toward him screaming some sort of battle cry. Escar quickly got back up and jumped away from the group of ninjas, preparing a fighting stance and using his ki-sensing to judge his enemies. [ Non-ki user, shouldn’t be that hard, even though I’m not so great at it, I’m still better than nothing] He would think to himself as he leaps towards the group and began to move much faster than them, hitting them with non-lethal strikes aiming to knock them down, it was finished rather quickly. ‘’ I really need to work on some Ki attack… it could have been faster than that…’’ He would tell himself as a bit of purple liquid was running on his arm, one of the men managed to slightly slice him, but with his Namekian regeneration, he had nothing to worry about. The Namekian decided he might not want to keep going in this forest by foot, more of those attacks might be dangerous, even for a ki-user like him.
After leaving that forest, and noticing he was right since he did feel a lot of low signature in chunks, he would arrive at Ginger town, a small town mainly looking like one of the previous villages he’s seen, a lot of large spots of lands clearly used to produce food in huge quantities. This time though, Escar though it would be a nice occasion for him to maybe learn something new from the Earthlings! So he went down near a farm where he could see farmers working and asked them if he could maybe help them, to which he was nicely answered that he could if he wanted to and he’d be rewarded with dinner, an offer than Escar was certainly not going to refuse, even if eating was doing nothing to him, at least the taste was nice, and that was important… plus he could get water out of pretty much anything, this planet was literally full of it. Escar spent around 5 hours doing some farm task, and with his speed and natural strength, it was quite easy for him, enough to be super-productive and get a thankful approbation from his employer, if Namekian were good at something outside of Ki-manipulating, it was growing plants out of all soils. The Namekian was offered dinner, took it, and after politely making his goodbye, he went off at sundown, he had only one stop remaining before he could finally go back to the place he wanted to stay and start properly introducing himself to this world.
In barely an hour, Escar got the West Capitol, and clearly, this city took the cake from the others. Not that it was bigger or anything, but it was clearly the one packed with the most surprising technologies out there, and the Namekian rapidly figured out this was the rich’s city, he was quite easily accommodated with the idea of money, and he could figure out that money was the reason this place existed. The young Namekian walked a long time into the city, seeing a lot of impressive buildings and monuments, the streets were cleaner, the people seemed a lot happier too! This was really the city he preferred amongst those he visited. At it was his last step in his journey, Escar figured out it would be nice to get some new clothes to blend in better with the crowd, so he went into the first cloth shop he could find and did some shopping. He came out of the shop wearing his new clothes, a black tank top, which he figured wouldn’t break if he was to use his elastic arm to reach to something, some grey joggings, they were the most comfortable thing he could find and black shoes that fitted with the kit. Wearing those, he finally got little less weird looks from people, and with another little hours exploring this fascinating city, he decided to leave, direction, the place he’d call home!
