Footsteps filled the massive city. Each step making a solid noise of impact on the ground. Not to mention the mumblings and conversations the citizens were having, the well known city was rather noisy this morning. That city being, Satan City. It was well known throughout Earth, being named after a legendary hero who supposedly defeated the greatest threats Earth has witnessed. These are just legends, but that doesn't make the city any more interesting. As well the buildings and schools were beautiful to the eye. These were all the reasons why Mitsu wanted to come here.
While she was thrilled to see the city and meet the people there, Chip was basically the opposite. The zoanthrope always saw things in a negative light. Humans, aliens, and Satan City. But if Mitsu was going to Satan City, she might as well too. Chip had to look over the girl. She was too innocent and kind for her own good. On top of that, Mitsu could easily be tricked and manipulated by others. They didn't seem to know just how dangerous the world could be. These were all the reasons why Chip had to be by her side, at all times.
"AAHHH!" Mitsu screamed. "W-Wait, what is it? Did you get hurt?! Is someone following us?!" Chip yelled. "Huh? Nothing silly, just so excited!" The cautious zoanthrope calmed down and sighed. "Were you worried about me? Hmm?" Mitsu teased. "N-No..." "Oh, you were weren't you?" "Mitsu, drop the subject." Mitsu puffed. "If you say so sassy pants."
The two stared onto the city, before continuing on their path. The road leading to the city was long and rocky, like that of a mountain trail. It had several tire marks engraved into the ground, most likely caused a long time ago. The road was thin and was unsuitable for cars to ride on, or for humans to walk on. By now Chip's feet were bruised from the rocks and Mitsu's shoes were practically torn in half. "This is taking too long, and way too uncomfortable." Chip then took advantage of her shapeshifting, growing toeight feet in height and growing wings onto her back. She then got on all four. "Get on." "Sure thing!" Mitsu climbed onto the, now, massive fox.
"To victory!" "Whatever you say!" Chip braced her feet, before jumping into the air. The jump was powerful enough to make her soar through the sky, along with make a small crater where she jumped. As she soared through the city, onlookers had their eyes locked onto the duo, surprised. "H-Hey! Does that cat have wings? A-And there's a girl riding it!" a man shouted in the road. Many more people started to pile in the road, specifically interested on Chip and Mitsu. However, Chip's momentum was losing, fast. They were speeding downwards. "Uhhh, Chip, shouldn't you use your wings?"
Up until now, the zoanthrope hadn't even used her appendages known as wings. The sheer jump itself was able to make her soar through the sky! Chip flapped her wings, trying to gain momentum in the air. It wasn't working. She flapped again. Nothing. They were still descending. Chip flapped them vigorously. "They're, they're not working!" "What do you mean they're not working?! They're your wings!"
"You heard me! I CAN'T FLY! THIS IS MY FIRST TIME USING WINGS!" "WHY DIDN"T YOU USE THEM BEFORE! YOU'RE A ZOANTHROPE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO KNOW THESE THINGS!" "THAT'S EASY FOR YOU TO SAY!" While the two girls argued, they hadn't seen the building just inches away from them, with Chip descending straight for it. Mitsu, in a rush, pulled the fox's ears. She was attempting to maneuver Chip in the opposite direction. "That's not gonna work! Ow! OW!" The attempt did nothing, resulting in Chip and Mitsu crashing through an office building. Screams of office workers filled Mitsu's ears, before completely disappearing. Chip spat out paper, most likely from the office building. She soon descended straight to the floor, sliding on the concrete before coming to a complete stop.
The onlookers who saw Chip and Mitsu before were almost a mile away, so atleast they were spared the embarrassment. As for pain, however, they weren't spared whatsoever. Chip has bruises, scratches, and may more injuries she gained on the road leading up to the city. Mitsu had relatively the same situation. She had bruises and scratches along with her scarf being partially torn apart. Chip thought this was the worst day ever. They made the absolute worst entrance into what could be Mitsu's dream city. The people who saw Mitsu and Chip fly through the air would already have a bad impression of them and remember the two as, "the weird cat and girl who flew through a building." 'Mitsu must feel horrible,' thought Chip.
Turns out! Chip was completely wrong! Mitsu jumped up in an instant, digging her feet into the small fox's back. "Minor setback! Let's go explore!" The girl's face was almost like a star, radiating rays of optimism. 'Well, looks like I'm wrong. She's happy, that's good,' thought Chip. It brought a tear to Chip's eye. Not because Mitsu was happy. But because Mitsu's feet were still engraved in her spine, causing excruciating pain. Chip grew in size, picking Mitsu up where she couldn't put her feet on Chip's back. The zoanthrope stood up, struggling slightly from the pain. "Alright you cinnamon bun, where to next?" Mitsu blinked in confusion. "Huh, I haven't really thought of that...Anywhere! Let's go!"
The two wandered into the city, both being excited and thrilled. Chip's opinion of the city was originally neutral. She had to go to a new place, a new home, a new everything. Satan City didn't seem like a place Chip would call "home." As well, there were strangers everywhere. Who says they can't be evil? It was dangerous! Chip always had trust issues with humans, or anyone besides Mitsu. However, her opinion of the place completely changed, mostly because of Mitsu. Her kindness and optimism was almost like a disease, it was contagious, and it spreaded to Chip. This doesn't mean her worries about the city were cured completely. But her spirits were certainly lifted. The strange duo continued on their path in the city. What adventures waited?!
