Gira rocketed through the skies over the deep blue ocean. She was in an incredibly happy mood today as she made her way over the ocean and towards Articho-sensei's island home. She was dressed in her Turtle School gi. Freshly cleaned this morning, it smelled slightly of lilacs. Though it would likely smell like grime and sweat before the day was out. Gira was pumped, though. Articho told her that next time, she would be taught something cool. Well, "next time" had finally come around a few days later. After spending some time recovering and meditating on her training, Gira was ready for another go. She was both excited and curious about what Articho-sensei was going to teach her this time. One of the Turtle School's signature moves? She sorely hoped that was what he meant. While she had heard some Turtle School technique names before, she never saw them in action, let alone knew them. Today was going to be interesting indeed. Finally seeing Kame House in the distance, Gira sped up, slowing to a halt and landing on the beach in front of the house. She grinned and looked ahead, approaching the front door and knocking delicately. It wasn't a nervous knock like last time, but she was aware that her master didn't live alone and she didn't wish to be rude. While she waited for her sensei, the hybrid straightened up her gi and made sure she didn't look like a total mess. Articho Reville

Articho had sensed Gira coming a little bit before she actually showed up. He had expected she'd be back quickly, especially since he'd given her the go ahead to come back whenever she pleased. He was glad to have planned out a few training exercises in the time span between their first meeting and her coming back a second time. But, he wouldn't simply give her the techniques, so he could show her more than just the destructive side of the techniques and actually teach her something meaningful. Arti pulled his jacket on and slipped his sunglasses over his eyes as he sensed her grow closer. He hoped she would knock quietly when she arrived. Pasley was fast asleep with his mother, one of the rare moments they could get her to stay asleep. He floated up off of the ground a few inches and hovered down the hall, then down the stairs. His father was crashed on the couch, getting his own much needed sleep. The young hybrid floated by silently as a quiet knock sounded at the door.
Articho opened the door to spot Gira on his stoop. "You're an eager one, aren't you?" he said quietly, grinning. He looked up over her head towards the island he had sparred with her at a few days prior. "Head on over there and keep your weights on this time. I'm not looking to fight you this time, so we're going to try and get you strong. Take this with you." He pulled a capsule from his pocket and tossed it over to her. "It's a grav belt and we'll use it in the training today. I'll meet you over there in a minute."

Gira grinned with excitement when Articho mentioned that she was an eager one. "Yep! I couldn't stay away after our fight last time. Especially not after you mentioned that you'd teach me something cool." The hybrid's master handed her a capsule and pointed her in the direction of the island they sparred at a few days ago. The capsule he gave her contained a gravity belt, or so he said. Gira was even more excited now. She had heard these things advertised, but she never had the money to buy one. From what she understood, they worked on almost the exact same principle as gravity chambers. This was going to be interesting! "Okay. Meet ya down there."
She took the capsule and floated over to their chosen training ground. As Gira landed on the beach, she had a thought. Was this Articho's personal training grounds? Gira had some of her own a little bit to the north of West Capitol She had to admit though, training on the beach was a lot more fun. After her thought, Gira looked around at her surroundings. Apparently, she landed on the same stretch of beach as before, as signs of her and Artico's battle were everywhere. Namely, the glass craters that she created when she tried to attack her master. The tide had washed in some sand, so they were almost completely full now, but Gira still noticed the edges.
The hybrid looked down at the capsule in her hand. "Well, best get ready." Gira pressed down on the capsule's top before casually tossing it down on the sand. In a plume of smoke, a simple black belt appeared. It seemed almost unremarkable at first glance. It was clearly an advanced piece of tech, but no one could guess if they didn't know what it was. Gira reached down and picked the belt up, examining it for a second before wrapping it around her waist, fastening it tightly. "Okay. Not sure how to work this thing, so I guess i'll wait for Articho-sensei."

Articho stretched his arms across his chest as he watched Gira fly off. With one hand, he reached up and tapped a button on the frame of his sunglasses, activating the scouter function in one of the lenses. It beeped for a moment as it locked onto his student and calculated her level of strength. 76,792. She was strong, but not quite there yet. It would take a little bit more time before she was fully ready to ascend to Super Saiyan, but all good things came to those who waited. Right now, he would train her in another way. He walked out onto his porch, stretching his arms over his head before closing the door behind him and scooping up a pile of logs he had piled up on his porch. He flew over to island and tossed the logs onto the ground in a pile before looking over at Gira.
"Set the gravity belt to x10 of Earth's gravity with the buttons on the buckle there. Doesn't seem like you wore your weights today, but that's not really an issue. Hang on a second, I'll right back," he asked before blasting off from the island. He returned a few moments later, a purple turtle shell in his hands. "This will do for today, but you can keep wearing it if you want to stick to the school's theme." Arti grinned as he tossed the turtle shell towards Gira. As it flew towards her, he turned to his pile of logs on the ground. He raised his hand. An orange ball of ki formed in his palm before shooting outwards in a blast of fire. It ignited the logs, setting them ablaze in a crackling fire. He looked back to Gira, gesturing to the fire. "Put it out with a ki attack."

Gira waved to Articho as he approached. When he gave her instructions on how to use the gravity belt, the half-Saiyan looked at the belt, finding the buttons on the side. "Oh, I see..." Articho tossed her a purple turtle shell, the hybrid catching it in her hands. She was surprised by the weight. It was comparable to her weighted gi. Then her master went off for awhile. While he was gone, she did as instructed and donned the turtle shell. She then pressed one of the buttons on the side, setting the belt to ten times Earth's gravity. A beep indicated that the belt had been turned on. Immediately, Gira felt her weight increase tenfold. She grunted in surprise, barely keeping herself upright.
"Oh... oh wow." That was all she could muster. Every part of her body increased in weight, from her bones to her teeth. Gira hadn't partaken in gravity training before, so this would take some getting used to. Gira grit her teeth and took a single step, seeing how well she could move around. What she found out was that she couldn't move very well. The gravity would be difficult enough, but the added weight of the turtle shell made the training all the more intense. Articho returned shortly after this, a bundle of wood in tow. She watched her sensei closely, wondering where he was going with this. He laid it out on the ground, igniting the pile with a ki blast. He then asked her to put the fire out with a ki blast. Gira was confused.
She knew ki could be used to devastating effect by causing fires, but she wasn't aware that they could be used for the opposite. How interesting. She couldn't help but smile, even though sweat poured down her face. "Okay! I'll give it a shot." Gira took a deep breath and focused. "Okay, okay..." She held one trembling arm out towards the blaze. 'Put it out... put it out...' Gira's hand flexed, a tiny ball of energy flew towards the fire. It collided with the wood, the blaze flaring up for a moment before dying back down to normal. Gira looked disappointed. "Aw man..." She thought for a moment. 'Maybe... instead of doing the same thing as normal, I should do the opposite.' Gira nodded, her expression becoming determined.
"I'm gonna try again." She said to her sensei, closing her eyes again and focusing her energy. 'Okay... do the opposite.' Gira stood still with her eyes closed, her arm raising again to aim her palm at the burning bundle of wood. At first, nothing happened. After a few more seconds, however, a slight breeze blew. Gira opened her eyes, her hand flexing again. A small shockwave came out of her palm, washing over the fire. It flickered and died down for a moment, but came roaring to life again. "Damn! I gotta be doing something wrong." She turned to Articho, barely managing to take a step towards him with the weight of the shell and the gravity. "What do you think? Do I at least have the right idea?"

Articho smiled and chuckled as he watched Gira attempt to adjust to the increased weight of both the shell and the gravity belt. "It might be hard, but trust me, it'll be better for you in the end," he said, crossing his arms across his chest. "And be thankful you've got some decent gear to train with than when I was training. I could have taken you out to a mountain and strapped a bunch of boulders to your back. A weighted shell and a belt are a lot more comfortable, yeah?" He grinned at Gira, before nodding towards his fire. He watched as she attempted to put out the fire, though she only manages to cause a minor flare up in the flames, but not putting it out. He didn't make any comments as she tried again, this time with a kiai pulse instead of a ki blast. She was still as unsuccessful in her efforts as with her ki blast and the fire stayed strong, crackling in almost mocking manner to Gira's efforts.
Articho approached the fire and crouched near it, holding one of his hands above the fire as he studied the flames. "Sort of, but you have to consider this: a fire requires three things to survive. It requires heat to spark the flames, oxygen to sustain the flames, and fuel to feed the flames. In a sense, a fighter is sort of like a fire. You have to have heat, a flame within you to motivate you to fight, fuel to feed you and keep you fighting, and oxygen to, well, breathe," he explained. "When you've got all the pieces, you've got your fire. But remove one aspect and poof, the whole thing is gone. So I want you to think: what can you do to put the fire out? The heat's a little hard to remove, as with the oxygen, so what does that leave you with? What do you need to take away to put the fire out?" He looked back up at Gira, a smirk still on his face as he waited for her reply.

Gira listened closely to Articho as he gave her some advice, leading her to the appropriate answer. A light bulb turned on in the hybrid's head. 'Of course. I've been going about it the wrong way.' Gira nodded to her sensei, renewed determination in her eyes. "I get it now. I haven't been thinking about it the right way." She turned back towards the fire and took a struggling step towards it. "I think i'm ready to give it another try." Gira closed her eyes, focusing again. 'This time, for sure.' The half-Saiyan held a palm out towards the flames, focusing her ki in her palm. "If I can't take away the heat or the oxygen... I have to take away the fuel." Gira opened her eyes, her hand flexing one final time as a kiai came from her hand.
This time, it was aimed at the wood. The bundle scattered among the sands of the beach as it was struck with the ki-infused shockwave. With its fuel no longer there, the fire tried desperately to remain, but it was fruitless. The flames died down on the individual pieces of wood before going out, leaving only a few smoldering logs in its place. Gira grinned triumphantly. "Yes!" She tried to jump into the air with glee, but the intense weight on her shoulders kept her on the ground. She turned to Articho, though, giving him a thumbs up and a proud grin. "Did it." At this point, Gira had gotten more acclimated to the gravity.
Now, she could at least walk. She tested out her mobility, not only moving her legs, but her arms as well. She couldn't jump or run or anything like that, but walking was fairly easy now. "I gotta say, Articho-sensei, this gravity belt is awesome." Gira flexed her bicep. She could already feel the combined weight of the gravity and the weighted turtle shell working on her muscles. "I've been wanting to try gravity training for awhile. I heard all the best fighters do it." She chuckled. "Never had the money though. Or knew anyone with a chamber or a belt. I gotta save my allowance and get one of these things when I can, though."

Articho watched with a smile as Gira pushed away the logs of the fire with a blast of force, scattering the burning pieces of wood and killing the flames they had fueled. He straightened up, nodding in satisfaction at his pupil for understanding what he meant. "Good. Now, I did, in fact, have a purpose with this lesson, however weird it might seem," Arti said. "Fire can be an incredibly destructive force, that can clear out whole cities and forests of life. But, if you remove its fuel, its base, you put it out rather easily. And today, that's what we're going to work on: your base, meaning your most basic skills, but with an added twist." He gestured to her weights and the gravity belt. He turned and floated a short distance away from Gira before turning to face her. He made a "come here" gesture with one hand while his other one slid into his pocket nonchalantly.
"I want you to walk towards me," he instructed. "We're going to work on making your base stronger by making it as difficult as possible to do seemingly simple tasks. For right now, I want you to walk over to me and reach me as quickly as you can. Easy, right?" He smirked at her, glad that he was wearing his sunglasses to hide his eyes, which he was sure were flashing with a mischievous light. The Kamehameha was the most basic of techniques for the school, so he figured going back to basics was a good idea. He would have made her crawl to him first, but that was a bit degrading. So, he would make her walk before she could run, then run before she could jump, then jump before she could fly. Step by step today, he'd work her back up until she grew used to the increased gravity and weights on her and could fight as close to her maximum as she could manage.
"The gravity belt cost me a pretty penny when I got back to Earth, but I had a little bit of extra help starting off on my gravity training," he said, chuckling slightly as he remembered the difficulty he had to even keep himself upright his first time on King Kai's planet. "Feel free to come by and use mine whenever you want. I don't mind letting you use it."

Gira listened to Articho as he explained the purpose of the lesson. He was trying to make a point; one Gira agreed with. A house was only as good as its foundation. A simple truth, but one worth learning. The hybrid nodded to her sensei as he gave her the next task; come to him. Quite simple if this were normal circumstances. But they weren't normal; she not only had her weight increased tenfold, but a turtle shell on her back that added what felt like a ton to her weight. Simply walking at a normal pace was intense. Then, Articho mentioned something that got her even more gleeful; she could come back and use the belt whenever she wanted. "Thanks, Articho-sensei! I won't let you down."
With that, her eyes narrowed. "Okay. On my way." With a deep breath, the half-Saiyan lifted up her foot, taking a struggling step towards the other hybrid. 'Okay, Gira... just one step at a time.' Gira struggled to walk at first, but with every step, she seemed to be more used to the gravity, allowing her to step with greater ease. The hybrid wiped the sweat from her brow and continued forward, getting ever closer to the Turtle Hermit. 'Almost... there...' As she made her last step, the hybrid took a moment to catch her breath, looking up at Articho with a confident grin. "Piece of cake." She stood up straight, letting out a long exhale.
Gira found herself enjoying this training. She knew that every step she took was making her stronger and she loved every minute of it. If the hybrid never ran out of energy, she would gladly train all day every day until she was the strongest. Unfortunately, she wasn't an android. She was only mortal. Still, that wouldn't stop her from obtaining the strength she needed.

Articho smirked as Gira walked closer to him, subtly lifting himself up off the ground. He looked down at her, raising an eyebrow as she declared victory in his instruction. "Oh, was it now?" he said. He lifted up a little higher off of the ground and began floating backwards away from her. "Well, I guess we're going to have to make it a little bit more difficult. Try and reach me now." He had noted how much difficulty she had had walking over to him the first time, so he kept his initial pace slow, at least until she got used to walking. Then he would continue picking up his speed as she moved from walking to jogging, then jogging to running, then running to sprinting, and so on until she could fly around easily under the increased weight. Hopefully, it wouldn't click with her until she was flying around at pretty high speeds to keep up with him.

Gira watched as Articho floated backwards, inviting her to catch him again. The hybrid grinned at the challenge. "Okay! Let's do this!" Gira grunted with effort as she lifted one leg up over the other, chasing after her master. As her pace increased, so did his. The half-Saiyan tried her best to run right off the bat, but couldn't muster a speed above a walk. That soon changed, however. Gira didn't notice, but as time went on, she became more used to the weights. A walk became a jog. Then, after awhile, a jog became a run. All of the hybrid's attention was on the man, her mind only focused on catching him. She sprinted as fast as she could, but couldn't keep up with her sensei.
With a growl, Gira floated off the ground, flying towards Articho as fast as she could. Slowly, over the course of the next few minutes, she steadily increased in speed until at last she was at almost her full speed. Finally, with sweat pouring down her face, she came to a realization. She could move. She could move pretty well, in fact. Even with the weights and the gravity belt on, she felt herself becoming acclimated to the added weight. With a smirk a blue aura erupted around her body. "Okay! Full speed!" Gira rocketed through the sky, flying toward Articho with her arms out. Hopefully, this would be enough to catch him.

Gira was adjusting to the weight quickly, far more quickly than he had actually expected. He was constantly upping his speed, dodging left and right, and changing direction so many times, he would have made anyone watching dizzy. He wasn't having any difficulty staying away from her, of course, but it was interesting to see how quickly she adapted and progressed. Gira was determined to train hard and get as strong as she could as quickly as she could, something Articho could respect. If he wasn't already convinced to help her reach Super Saiyan when the time is right, he certainly was now.
Articho grinned as the girl's aura flared up around her and she took off towards him quickly. His own aura flared up and he shot away, speeding around the island to avoid her. "Come on! You can catch me!" he taunted before sharply turning upwards and flying straight up in the air.

A playful grin was plastered on Gira's face as Articho ratcheted up his speed. They were now in a full on chase. The hybrid flew through the air as fast as she could, trailing behind her sensei. At his taunt, Gira's grin widened. "You bet I can catch you!" The half-Saiyan's aura flared as she increased her speed to its absolute maximum. As Articho flew straight up into the air, Gira followed him. It reminded her of when she would play tag with the other kids when she was younger. The others couldn't escape her, of course. Not like Articho could, but Gira couldn't help but feel nostalgic.
"I'm gonna... get you!" The hybrid reached her hand out towards her sensei, but she still wasn't close enough. Gira growled in frustration. Then, she got an idea. If she were to fire her Aether Cannon towards the ground, the force from tjhe attack might be able to propel her right into range to catch her quarry! The teen smirked, satisfied with the idea. As she flew higher into the sky after Articho, Gira twisted around so that she was facing the opposite direction. As she flew ever higher, she held her palm out, aiming her palm at the water below. With a grunt, Gira fired a basketball-sized blast of energy downwards.
Her idea worked exactly as planned, it seemed. The propulsion generated from her attack made her rise into the air even faster than before, hopefully closing the gap between her speed and Articho's. The hybrid twisted back around, groaning as she stretched her arm out as far as she could, aiming to grab her sensei by the ankle if he didn't escape her. 'Gotta use all the tools at my disposal...!'

With a burst of energy, Articho picked up his speed, though his increased lead didn't last long. Gira stayed right on him, getting faster and faster the more she adjusted to the weights adorning her body and the increased gravity she was experiencing. He spun slightly to get a better view of her as she shouted at him, grinning down at her. The wind was ruffling his hair and jacket and he could taste the air getting thinner as they rose higher and higher. He didn't doubt that she would chase him straight into space if he didn't stop going upward, which he wouldn't go through with, of course. Lucky for him, his student made the first move. As she fired her beam, Arti stopped willing himself to ascend. For a second, he sat in free fall, before flipping to face the earth. He winked at Gira as she flew by him, his feet narrowly escaping her grip as he began to fall back down to earth.
"The game's not up yet! Try and keep up!" he called back to her, his voice nearly lost to the wind as he plummeted back towards the ground. As he fell, he quickly gained on Gira's attack that she used to boost herself. He twisted his body around in the air, swinging his leg around and sending the ball of energy spiralling on its own axis. With another strong kick, he sent the attack right back at her. "Think fast!"

'Damn!' Gira growled under her breath as Articho shot past her, escaping her grab. She reacted instantly, reversing the direction of her propulsion and flying downward at full speed. 'Come on! You can do this!' The hybrid gave herself a pep talk and kept her eyes on Articho, not letting him out of her sight for a second. Then Articho did something that the half-Saiyan did not expect. The attack that she fired off to assist her with her flying speed was taken up by her sensei and thrown in her direction. Gira didn't panic, though. She knew what to do.
The attack appeared to pass right through Gira, the image of the girl vanishing after the yellow ball of ki passed through it. It was an afterimage. Gira took this opportunity to use her technique tactically, appearing right in front of her sensei in less than half a second after the afterimage dissipated. "Got you now!" Gira reached for the collar of Articho's shirt. She was relentless in her assault now, determined to catch her target. She would not give up, it seemed. Gira had been training to improve the variety of her techniques. She first saw the afterimage technique used by her rival, Kallabash when they first battled. It easily caught her off guard. She hoped that it would serve her in the same way here.
