Though he liked to think of himself as a tactical genius who could only lose a battle because the for was far superior, he often found himself losing to himself, and this could possibly be another situation of the same. When engaging with the two Saiyans, Chikara had completely forgotten about the Oozaru transformation that had access to. In his mind, these Saiyans were too weak to have unlocked the Super Saiyan form and so he had no need to fear any sort of transformation, but now things had changed. Perhaps he would need to pull out his owner transformation to get himself out of this one.
The Saiyan fired a blast into the roof, and the entire mountain shock at it’s force. Chikara quickly leaped towards cover to avoid any falling debris. Luckily for him the moon was not yet at it’s apex yet, and there was no way for it’s light to enter the cave at this very moment, so he at least had some time to formulate some sort of plan. With some light now in the cave he could see his opponent, and could also see that he was still alone. “Guess I have no choice now. Let’s try and limit any new orifices this time.” The Saiyan spoke and told Chikara that he had control over his great ape form, which was yet to be seen. There was a chance that this was simply a bluff and that the power of the Oozaru may end up taking out the other Saiyan for him, but at the same time lack of control would not stop the Oozaru from crushing him into dust at the mere sighting. Thinking about it like that it did not really matter whether or he had control. He also spoke to his friend and told him stay back, which Chikara thought on very deeply.
“Perhaps the young one has not yet mastered his form? If so I could possibly use this to my advantage.” If the young boy were to transform into the Oozaru he would gain a massive gain in power; ten fold or so he has heard. Would that really be enough to take care of the sheriff though? Probably not, but it was at least worth a shot. Not only that but there was also the same problem as before; there was no way to control it. If he could control it by force it would only prove to Chikara that it was not powerful enough to be used a weapon, but a distraction? Time would tell.
The Saiyan was now becoming more and more aggressive; so much so that Chikara was now forced to make a move. He could now see his opponent, and he could see that he was charging up some sort of attack that he had never seen before, so this was it. “Alright then, I guess you’ve left me without a choice.” Chikara began to charge his own energy wave in preparation of the clash. He had no idea how outmatched he was going to be, but he had to at least try. If not to win, for his pride. “Let’s see how you like this!” ---------- N1 Energy Wave: 33% = 15557 Ryson

Ryson was whizzing through the cave system to catch up. His blood was burning for a fight, however, this was odd. He usually wasn't so thrilled about fighting. Sometimes he even didn't want to. What was different this time? Why was he so excited? Ryson shook the thoughts from his head and pressed on, not caring about this shift in attitude. He only wanted to combat a strong opponent. "Where are those two?" There was a colossal shattering noise from further down the cave and Ryson saw a shred of light shine in the distance. "Great! Now we can see! I just hope that was the sheriff's idea." That's when he heard him yell out to Ryson. "That's right there's a full moon tonight! That should make for a quick win." Ryson reveled in the idea that he might get to see an Oozaru. His father would stay inside on nights like these, and he himself could never transform, therefore he has never seen one in person. He was almost ashamed of this genetic defect because despite having a tail he could never live up to the legends of the powerful Oozaru. The closest thing he has to a transformation is his "Hidden Potential", or so it was called by an old mentor, but that only came when Ryson was on the brink of defeat. Hopefully, it wouldn't have to come to that. Maybe he could use this to his advantage? Afterall, he's the only one who knows about this issue. Ryson decided to heed the sheriff's advice for now and hide on the edge of darkness to wait for his chance to launch some kind of surprise attack. Ryson hid behind some debris, clamped his hands together and charged his melee attack. ------- Volcano Slam charged at 33% (907 PL) Arlic Valliere

"Now, I'll show you what a ranger of the north can really do! You might have underestimated Saiyans before, but this will show you what we really are! The greatest warriors in the galaxy, and myself the guardian of the mountains. Let's see what ya got young'un!"
The power had the Saiyan gritting his teeth, cackling energy swirling and snapping as if arms sheathed in the stuff. Now and then a bolt smashing into the walls or ceiling of the cavern, leaving a scorch mark and the smell of burnt ozone in the air. He'd chosen what move he'd use with care, the Maelstrom was the ultimate upgrade from his usual Valkyrie Pulse. Either melee or discharged, electricity had it's own mind once he let it out; and he double checked on the scouter, making sure Ryson was nowhere in the line of fire. "If this doesn't put you down, I might let you go! Don't disappoint me!" The electricity peaked, it's stray bolts shattering stone as the Sheriff's elbows cocked back; like a bolt action that just loaded a round in the barrel. The power condensed, like static around his arms that coiled tighter and tighter until a bundle of white-blue hissed and snapped around his limbs. "Valkyrie Maelstrom!"
Hands came forward and together with quick precision, palms smacking together then pushing forward to let the coil of energy blast out hard enough to break every stalactite and mite in the cave system at once. Anything in it's way was turned to molten slag, shattered to bits, or simply blown away. It was just a bit more powerful then Arlic himself was, and the moment the power came out he sank to a knee. Panting as sweat hissed and steamed as it fell onto the superheated ground, the floor to the ceiling stained red from the overdraft of heat caused by so much lightning being thrown in a small space.

Chikara could now feel that the other power level had finally caught up with the two, however it seemed as though he choose to heed the words of the elder and stay back. This seemed like strange behaviour from a Saiya; they’re usually not ones to shy away from a fight regardless of circumstances. Perhaps Chikara was wrong in this one being a Saiyan? He could have sworn he saw a tail on him earlier, though he was in a rush. There was perhaps the possibility that the boy was in fact a hybrid; being an Earthling would point to that as well.
The older Saiyan stood in the centre of the cave and stood his ground. He blabbed on about putting him down or something like that, but that wasn’t what Chikara was focused on. All of his focus was put onto the immense power gathering inside the body of the Saiyan; many times greater his own. If something with that kind of power were to hit Chikara then he was screwed, and so he hand was forced and there wasn’t much else he could do. If he wanted to survive a blast like that his only real option was to use his own transformation.
Chikara pushed his legs out and brought his arms to his side to begin the transformation. His power slowly began to rise, and with it his aura became stronger and stronger. The rocks around his feet were pushed away by the intense Ki surrounding his body. The clothes on his back began to tighten as the muscle began to increase until they could not take it anymore and they burst off his skin to leave only his shorts in place. With the transformation complete he now felt ready to take the attack. “Alright then you son of a bitch; let’s see what you got.”
Chikara braced himself for impact. At this point there was not enough time to actually get out of the way, but perhaps if he could take the hit and get back up the Saiyan would be tired enough to be in a vulnerable situation. The bolts of crackling lightning shot through the cave as the enemy unleashed his ultimate attack. The stalactites, stalagmites and even the bugs in the pond were vaporized as the attack marched towards Chikara; perhaps he had underestimated its power a bit too much. “Perhaps this was a bad…” Before Chikara could finish, the blast found it’s mark.
Chikara was violently thrown back, into the wall of the cave. The surging electricity flew through his veins and burnt his skin. It was perhaps the second most painful thing he had ever felt; only second to a certain someone’s horn going through his chest. Falling into a pond of water, the electricity was kept alive all around him as it shocked and whipped for a few seconds longer. Once it was all said and done Chikara could barely get to his knees. At this point he felt himself much weaker, but without the transformation he would have been surely dead.
He looked over to the Saiyan and saw that he was already tired, though he definitely did not feel as bad as Chikara did. Without the brutal assault Chikara was probably above the Saiyan now with his transformation used, but the attack left him now below for sure, maybe enough to still cause him a problem or two though. “Not bad I have to say, you’ve impressed me with that one. Perhaps I underestimated you monkeys. Though weakened however I still stand, or uh, kneel before you, not beaten, not yet.” Chikara looked around to see if there were any attacks coming his way before crawling a little closer.
“Yeah, you really took the wind out of me, but what about the young one? Why not give him a turn to show what he’s made; surely he’s itching for a fight is he not?” Chikara was hurt for the moment, but his power level would slowly rise as the immediate effects of the blast dissipated. Perhaps if he could lure the young Saiyan into the light and force an Oozaru transformation, it would be enough of a distraction to get him out of here. “What do you say, young boy? I know you’re here. I may be hurt but I can still sense you.” ---------- Transformation Battle Spirit: New PL = 46673 Power Level After Attack: 13,000 Ryson Arlic Valliere

Ryson was itching to come out. He was burning inside. After that little monologue, it was obvious now that hiding was no good but with how much stronger his opponent was there was no way he could do much damage, even after taking a hit like that. Which left the question, why did he want Ryson to come out so much? Sheriff Arlic was the much bigger threat, so why isn't he focused on him? No matter the reason Ryson still was not strong enough as he was to do anything. He needed to be patient just a while longer. Ryson closed his eyes and channeled the human side of him, calming his senses somewhat. He had to focus. Now that his attack was more charged than before it was glowing more brightly. To combat this Ryson sat down and hid his arms between his chest and his legs. "I am so glad they can't see me like this. I probably look like I'm cowering or something." All he had to do now was focus so that he could get some kind of good shot in. Maybe drop in from the top and smash into his head? That could disorient him for a moment. Maybe come from the side and try to take out an arm? That could slow him down. Or maybe just a simple shot to the gut to send him backward? Assuming it would even hurt at all. All he wanted to do was prove something. But to who? "There's got to be a way to surpass this guy. There's got to be a way I can do SOMETHING." Then it hit him. Maybe he didn't have to do much of anything at all. He just had to show that he wasn't afraid and that he wouldn't back down. So quietly Ryson sat there, charging his attack. Whatever good it would do. At least he could be some kind of distraction. ----- Volcano Slam Charged at 66% (1,815 PL) Arlic Valliere

"You picked your fight. He's half Saiyan, he'll grow stronger then you one day. Hell, he's stronger then me when I was his age." The older fighter rose back up, slamming fists together in a loud ringing. Part to clear his head with a brief burst of pain, the rest to show he was still good to fight, even if his vision was swimming. Damn, that was the most power he'd ever shot in one go. The scouter clicked, doing a quick scan of both friend and foe.
He could pop a Senzu, but this was not the time for it. To build the next generation of heroes, to show his new young friend that power level mattered far less then people thought. "Alright lad! I need you to buy me five minutes, the moon will be up and I can smash this bastard!" The Sheriff did just a bit of acting, slamming his arm against the wall to feign exhaustion. For both Ryson and the attacking, transformed alien aggressor. "Power comes from a need, not a desire. I know you have all the strength you need to hold this jolly green jackass back! Don't hold back, show the world why us Saiyans are the greatest warriors in the universe!"
The moment both their attention was turned to eachother though, the Sheriff lent against the wall in a far more relaxed manner. Yanking cigarillo from the inside of his sash and setting it to light with a snap of metal fingers near it's edge. Burning acrid smoke and blowing it out the opposite corner of his mouth, a half grin crossing his lips. Well kid, I can see that potential in you, and that alien sure as shit can't. You'll either wipe him out, or I'll go Ooz and grind him into a filthy paste. Either way, this is your time to shine.
Good luck Ryson, The Sheriff believes in you!

It’s seems that lady luck was maybe looking down on him after all. The older Saiyan seemed to be in a rather dire situation after that attack, and Chikara would be there to deal the finishing blow, but there were other matters that needed attending to. The Saiyan shared his sentiment and called for the young one to come forward and to leave his own mark on the battle. There was also a new revelation to Chikara: The boy was not a full Saiyan, merely half, which was very important to his plans. Unfortunately things may have taken a turn for the worse.
Every full blooded Saiyan had the ability to transform into the mighty Oozaru; this was well known throughout the universe. However when it came to just a half blood things were very different. There was no knowing whether or not this one actually had access to his ancestral power and so his plan of using the young ape as a distraction could be more or less thrown out the window. This doesn’t mean that he was totally screwed but it does mean that there’s a slightly more likely chance he’ll be squashed by a giant monkey, and he only had five minutes to fix that.
He checked back over to where the boy was hiding; he was still behind the rock but he could sense his power level rising with every passing second. It would probably never reach the stage where it would be fatal for Chikara, but he showed a lot of potential. The older man leaned back across the wall and even pulled out some sort of cigarette and lit it. Under normal circumstances Chikara would have seen this as a great insult, for such lack of fear or even respect. However this was clearly no normal circumstance and so he ignored it as much as possible.
He turned back to the younger Saiyan and thought about his game plan. “How are we gonna take this one, huh? He’s not that powerful, but he probably has some sort of transformation shoved up his ass just waiting to come out. Even then would he pose much of a threat? Maybe the old geezer just wants his as a distraction to attack when he’s down. But he does seem to genuinely care about him; strange thing to see from a Saiyan which makes it all the more unlikely to be true. Nevertheless it’s at least something to keep in the back of my mind”
Chikara turned back to the elder and spoke a few words to himself. “How relaxed is he really? Trying to play it cool in order to lull me into a false sense of security perhaps? Trying to regain your own energy while I’m busy? Probably, but I can’t know for sure. You’re giving me five minutes, so I should try and make the most of them. Even If I’m dead at the end.” Chikara dipped his hands in the nearby water and poured it over his still burnt flesh. It was still so hot that a crackling sound whispered through the cave.
Chikara finally pushed himself to his feet and this time made his words known to all those in the cave. “I hope you know what you’re doing when entrusting the boy with the task of keeping me busy. Five minutes can be a long time with a broken back and shards of stone piercing your flesh. But you’ll know that soon enough” With those words Chikara flew over to the rock that the boy was hiding behind and shattered it with a kick. “Alright, lad. I’ll let you have the first strike, but make it quick, before daddy over there joins in.” ---------- Ryson

Ryson sat charging his attack. Continuing to wait, and wait, and wait. Then, the sheriff spoke out to him. He was right. Saiyans were one of the greatest. His words touched his heart and inspiration flooded him. He poured all that he had into charging his attack. Ryson focused as hard as he could in concentrating his ki. He could do it. Something to help. He noticed something strange about the sheriff though, something was off. It was the same attitude Ryson's father had when he was too prideful to admit he was injured. When he... died. This brought sad memories back to Ryson, dulling his spirits but when the sheriff said he believed in him he shook that off and he kept charging. Now that he put together that Arlic might need more help than he thought, he got scared. How could he be tired now? Then the rock broke, and the alien man was right on him. He was too close to dodge away. The sheriff was right, power came from a need, and he needed it now more than ever. There was no way he was going to let this end that quickly. There was no way he was going to fail this soon. Ryson screamed in effort as he finished charging his move to the maximum. He let out a loud cry to show that he meant business. His ki flared up much more than normal and shattered the surrounding rock formations, causing debris to scatter but not hitting anyone. This was it, Ryson let go and aimed his attack at the man's gut. Hopefully, this would connect and do some damage. "TAKE THIS YOU GREEN OAF!" Well, The Sheriff didn't feel very bad about his acting. Old dog, new tricks and all that as he rolling the cigarillo back and forth over his knuckles in an almost lazy fashion. Catching it's end with lips and resuming his smoke, staying right outside the beam of moonlight he'd blasted open only a couple minutes ago. The scouter chirrped, registering the young hybrid's sudden change in power output, earning a grunt of approval from the older.
"Just about matched now, worse comes to worse I'll just turn into a giant monkey and curbstomp Greeny." Thumb tapped against aged wrapping, ash flickering down to be blown away by the breeze his ki made shaft had created. At least it kept it form being hot as hell down here. Not a fan of caves, or desert, but watching a young fighter find his potential? Well, he was alright with that.

Shards of stone flew around the cave as Chikara shattered the cover used by the boy. Behind the rock he expected to see a meek little child who would be cowering in fear; waiting for the old protector standing nearby to come to his rescue, but that was not who he met with. Behind the rock was waiting a warrior who unlocked the power from deep inside himself and unleashed it point blank at the Heran warrior. There was not enough time to get out of the way, and as a result the blast was a direct hit, sending Chikara flying across the room.
Unable to dictate his own flight path due to exhaustion, Chikara found himself thrown into a wall of jagged rocks. Several small shards found themselves dug into the skin of Chikara who bellowed out in agony once again. A few moments felt like an eternity as he ripped the stone from his skin and so much blood had flown from his veins that there was a small pond forming beneath his feet; as if he could bathe himself in defeat. Chikara was on the verge of breaking, but perhaps there was still time to do something; just maybe he still had a shot.
Chikara washed his wounds and tried to get back to his feet, but he must have lost a quarter of his blood by now and the dizziness threw him right back down. He tried to look up to the Saiyans but he could barely manage that. Perhaps they had best him; how many more bones must be broken; how many more litres of blood must be lost before it was time to call it a day? Chikara of course always keep a Senzu bean on hand for these kind of situation, but he felt like maybe there was a way out of here without needing to use that.
He slowly crawled over to the elder Saiyan, keeping his head down along the way in shame. Once he reached the man he looked up and tried his best to keep eye contact. “Well, this is certainly unexpected, at least for me that is. They all talk about how brash and impulsive the Saiyans tend to be, but look like the roles are reversed here. One thing that never goes along with a Saiyan is mercy; but I’m afraid I must try and appeal to whatever amount you have right now. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but you have bested me.”
Chikara turned back to the boy and moved slightly closer to him. “You too boy, congratulations. My foolish attack left me wide open for you, and you did well to take full advantage of it. I dare say this was a great team effort. I am now left to lick my wounds and ponder whether you won this battle, or I lost it.” Chikara laid back on the cold, stone floor and looked up into the hole in the roof, and could see the moon reaching its apex. “Now it seems you have a choice to make. Show me your ancestral power and try to finish me off, or freedom for us both.” ---------- Ryson

Ryson was shocked at the turn of events. He had no intention of boosting his power like that. Either way he was glad to see what he could do. After the adrenaline faded a bit he felt a pain in his side. There were sharp bits of rock sticking out of his abdomen. "Ah! What the hell?" He was confused about how they god there when he had a flashback to when his hiding place was shattered. That must have been where they came from. It wasn't the worst pain he had ever felt but it still stung like a bitch. He grasped his side and tried to stop the bleeding. Once he was sure it stopped he walked over to the sheriff. "You think this guy is serious? I mean, even if he isn't, we can't kick him while he's down. I think we should just chalk this up as a win and get this guy some medical attention or something." He looked over at the man lying on the floor wondering if he was sincere. He didn't think he had anything else under his sleeve. The sheriff did a number on the guy before Ryson got to him. Hopefully this really was the end. After all, there was still the mystery to solve. Who planted those saibamen outside. Ryson looked back over to the sheriff and grunted at the pain is his side. "Besides, I think we need to find the guy who made all those monsters outside." -------- Arlic Valliere

There was a brief quiet as the Sheriff slid his duster and hat back on, completing that wild wild west vibe he seemed to love before casting a clance up and down the wounded greenskin. The tension rose, up until a grin split the old fighter's face and palmed the back of Chi's back. Almost hard enough to send the alien to the ground. "T'sal good mate, no 'arm, no foul. Me and the kid got bigger fish to fry anyway. Don't think ya actually broke any laws anyway. I'd be more careful tho, I ain't even the strongest person in the North, let alone Earth."
The Sheriff dug through his jacket, pulling out some basic medical supplies. Nothing as good as a Senzu, just rough linin bandages and a thick paste that cooled wounds. Tossing a roll and tube to both Saiyan and Alien, he seemed to be bearing his own wounds with stoic indifference. The kind that older fighters seemed to be able to turn off in time. "Well, that was a fun event, got a little too instense too quick, but hey we're all hot heads. Ain't no body or crater, might send the lads here to turn the place to a mine." He let a half of a laugh out, hooking thumbs into the scarlet sash around his waist. "Any'un you two wanna head to my place? Up in Luna, lil town. You don't have a choice Ryson, we're gonna stick some meat in them bones. But you're welcome to green."
Metal, cybernetic hand was stuck out in the manner of greeting all across the galaxy. "Time we all introduced ourselves formal like anyway. I'm Sheriff Valliere, erryone calls me Sheriff or Val. Now, whose comin' for grub? You better not die if we leave ya alone too Greeny, it's more paperwork for me if'n ya do."

The Heran was lost of words with the what the Saiyan had to say. Not only because he was speaking a whole lot of gibberish to him, but from he could understand he was actually going to let him go. Such kindness and generosity was not known among the people he grew up with or the Heran people in general; it was seen as weak and ridiculous. Stranger yet was that it was coming from a Saiyan; those who pride themselves on crushing and breaking their enemy. Instead he had done the exact opposite to the most helpless Heran he would ever see.
“A strange choice indeed. Perhaps I shall be leaving now.” Chikara slowly pulled himself up onto his feet and wiped away the dust. He flew up from the hole in the roof and made his way to his ship just as the moon reached peak. As he flew by he thought about the beating he narrowly avoided at the hands of an Oozaru, but quickly changed his thoughts to that of food and drink as he would be back in a place of comfort once again. Perhaps going around and starting fights with strangers was beginning to have negative effects on him. ---------- Leaving now, requesting PL for this one

Ryson hoped that guy would learn something from this. Maybe now he would try to train with someone legitimately. In any case, the fight was over and Ryson could return to what he was originally doing. "That was pretty fun Sheriff. I'm glad I came up here. Good training you know?" Ryson turned to the new gaping hole in the mountain. /Jeez, they really went all out. I noticed it before but I never stopped to think about it./ Ryson had never met anyone so powerful, how hasn't he met the sheriff before? He couldn't stop thinking about the battle. The swarms of saibamen, the strong opponent, and the powerful attacks that had been unleashed. This would probably be at the forefront of his mind for a while to come. Ryson planned to analyse this fight in his head and really break it down to find out how to improve. "Should we head out now? "Aye lad, we'll head up to Luna and get some grub. Ya can crash at my place and we'll see what the maps of the attacks pull up." Hand smacked the back of the young fighter as the Sheriff let a half grin spread his lips. Lifting off out of the tunnel with a 'follow me' gesuture.
