Half weights equipped, Thread PL: 37,500
“Heads up boss, looks like we’re fighting after all.” The tinny voice coming through the old, chipped scouter chirped with the Deputy’s voice. Scans flaring at growing frequency, with the growing heat of summer the old seeds buried up in the mountains started to free from their frozen tomb. Ice dripping water filled with old Saiba seeds. The rich soil and mineral filled water making the little green bugs stronger than usual, ending up with a horde of the annoying things filling the air around the small mountain towns so far from any real city. There wasn’t many with a power level worth trying to take the swarm on, but the Sheriff up north had a pretty good grasp of things, if he said so himself.
Old cybernetic clicked and whirred whenever the fist was flexed, hell he used this as a training regimen. The old worn weights on his limbs just as comforting as the old tattered hat on his head. Rolling cigarillo from one corner of thin lips to the other, acrid smoke drifting out as gravelly tones rumbled. “Put a signal out. See if anyone wants to help out.” The veteran tested himself, ki flaring from palm to palm. The old output modulator in his prosthetic flickering open and shut, still worked then. It’d been quite a while since he needed to use it. He was of the mind he was getting too old for this shit.
He heard the Saibamen before he saw them, the chittering of their beak like mouths clacking as the mountainside sounded like an avalanche. Though it wasn’t stone or snow that came from the thick evergreens, but the cursed little plant beings. Pumping arm once, the old fake arm’s engine kicked into work. Fingers flexing in growing obedience to their master, the older than most veteran who made a point to stand for his little mountain town.
“Aight, let’s see if I can still do this.” The Saiyan snarled behind scarred lips. Ki pulse rocketing up the highest it could reach under the weights, old pride of his race making him keep it halved like it was. Even veterans felt the blood boil at the chance to get some action in the only way the species knew how. By beating the ever loving crap out of anything that dared to rear its head as an enemy to him or his home. Whipping a ball of molten energy past that caught the first invader flat in the chest, blowing limbs apart like a jigsaw puzzle. Subtly glad they popped like fruit rather than anything really alive. Arms started whipping back and forth in growing tempo, launching blasts along in a cascade of energy that turned the rocky mountain face into a crater filled death trap for the Saibas. Flaring his ki aura to keep them lured at him rather than any of the nearby towns. Sidestepping a three claw’d swipe, the sudden knee coming up with enough impact to snap a foe across the fields of battle.
“Hows’ that broadcast coming Deputy? I’d rather not get swarmed by these bloody things.” Rumbling tones didn’t seemed to concerned, back stepping and keeping his pace with the growing wave of chattering green chitin, beady red eyes turned dull as bodies stacked up. Keeping boots on the ground, the man’s arms spread wide. Firing pulses to keep himself being swamped by the waist high aliens. The signal broadcasting out in low, heavy tones.
‘Saibamen swarm sighted outside Northern Peaks. High numbers, assistance requested by Sheriff Arlic Valliere, plenty of the things to go around.’

Thread PL: 2,750
Ryson was taking the time to go to the post office to drop off some mail his mom wanted to be sent to some family when he heard the broadcast coming from a car in the street and ran close to investigate.
"What? That doesn't sound too good. Northern Peaks? I can make that I think."
With that, he ran inside to drop off his mail and darted back out only to burst into the sky towards Northern Peaks. Ryson thought to himself
/I wonder what these Saibamen are like, I've never fought one before/
Ryson grunted as he boosted his speed trying to make it there faster so he wouldn't miss anything. He couldn't help but feel excited about finally fighting someone, well... something, that wasn't his brother. And hearing that there were plenty to fight, he hoped they were strong enough to be a challenge of some kind. After some time he saw the Peaks and could hear the sounds of battle in the distance. Ryson's heart lifted as he thought of how much fun this was going to be. Then suddenly he felt more serious about the situation when he realized that they might be a threat to people.
"Damn, must be my Saiyan side getting me all excited."
With that Ryson tucked his tail into the sash around his waist to protect it. As he neared the mountain he saw a couple of the little green monsters, and the man he assumed was the Sherrif who asked for assistance.
"Heeeeeey! Are you the sheriff!? I got the message! I'm here to help!"

The scouter chirped and the grizzled fighter shifted sight, sidestepping a swipe from an alien and sending an elbow down hard enough to make the crack of spine audible through the sounds of conflict. "Howdy young'un! Ye'd be right. Glad to see some one here ta back me up." Boots switched positions quickly, arm wrapping around a slim green neck and hoisting it up to show the newcomer just what the odd little beasts were. "Give 'em a good whack anywhere and they tend to go down lad. Good training! Ain't seen another Saiyan up 'ere in a good year or so!" Rolling muscles, a vicious twist send the Saibamen rocketing into the ground hard enough to leave a dent in stone and soil.
Duster swirled from the movement, the man's own tail tucked in the old fighter fashion of a belt. Energy pulsing down arms before blasting a flurry out the not-mechanical limb. Thing tended to hiccup now and then when he was unloading ki too fast through the old manipulator coil.
"I'm Sheriff Valliere, ain't seen ya 'round these parts." The veteran let half a grin out, even his good ol' boy attitude getting the hot blooded vibe that was a common trait for the species. "Let's see what ya got kid."

(PL: 46,673. Heavy Weights on: 11668) ---------- The mountains weren’t exactly the first place Chikara would go if he was in search of something to keep himself entertained. He was more into the night life style, and if that was not available then he preferred to be in the solace of his gravity chamber, slowly breaking his bones and crushing his spirit in pursuit of a higher power. But no, instead of either of those things the Heran had himself plan out something a little different. For too long had he bottled himself up and for too long had he been tired with the regime; now was the time for change.
“The planet is a lot larger than I like to think, but where could I possibly go that stimulate me in the way I need?” The Heran pulled out a map of the region he was in and started scouting out places he could go. “Perhaps I could go visit the Kami?... No I’m probably not his type. And I’ve never been much for the cold so that leaves out this area…” Eventually after too much time was spent wasted on his menial task he finally just closed his eyes and pointed to somewhere on the map. “Northern Peaks, aye? Well I suppose it’s a Hell of a lot better than staying in this place.”
A hike was perhaps just what he needed to freshen his life up a bit. The fresh wind through his hair, all the animals he could hunt; it wasn’t so bad after all. Flying over to the spot the cold and dusty air started to cool his desire and he thought about perhaps turning back. “No, I already know what waits for me back there; I must go on.” Almost nearing his destination now and the Heran instead comes across a peculiar sight. He flew into cover and squinted as best he could to try and get a better look. “What do we have here?”
Looking down on the spot Chikara could see two figures below him. They both appeared to be Saiyan, though he wasn’t positive, and one was definitely much older than the other. Chikara had a sketchy history with Saiyans before, and wasn’t the most fond of their kind. He preferred Humans as they tend to be easier to crush in case they go rogue. Around the two Saiyans were a group of green figures, who appeared to be Saibamen from this distance. He knew that Saiyans liked to grow Saibamen when preparing to launch some kind of attack. “This could be the perfect opportunity to get some training in!”
Chikara flew up into the sky and got himself into an open and view able area. “Hey, you two monkeys down there.” Chikara pulled his arms behind his body and cupped his hands together. “I don’t know who you are or what you here to do, but unfortunately you in the wrong place and the wrong time.” With his cupped hands in place he began gathering his energy in preparation for an energy beam. “Lets see how you do against this!” Chikara then pushed his arms forward and fired the energy wave, and then waits for his enemy to respond. ---------- Technique used: Energy Wave = 33% power (3890PL)

"Same here! The only other Saiyan I ever see around is kind of an ass, so any interaction with him only ends it fighting."
Ryson was glad to meet another decent Saiyan besides his father. But he had no time to dwell on this right now, he had a fight to finish. Ryson managed to dispatch around three to four Saibamen before he heard the voice from above.
--------
Ryson heard the voice from above and could see that he would not be able to avoid this attack very easily. Ryson thought to himself quickly and got a hold of an oncoming saibaman and tossed it into the beam while doing his best to get out of the way. Two birds, one stone and all that.
/I hope the Sherriff is stronger than I am, cause this guy looks like he means business/
"Watch out!"
Just barely getting out of the way in time, Ryson could smell the stench of singed arm hairs.
/Maybe if I can charge an attack high enough I can do some damage./
With that Ryson raised his arms high and charged his favorite (and only) ki beam and a beautiful purple orb materialized in his hands.

The Sheriff had been in enough scraps to know how this sort of thing always ended. Scouter clicking in warning before analyzing the newcomers power level. Letting wolfish grin cross, Saiyan blood igniting as he shifted his aim. Backhanding a green skinned alien aside and letting energy pool in motes around his hand. Settling it by his side and making a gun gesture. Long coat billowing behind him as the energy wave came on. "Alright kid, ya wanna see what a monkey can do? Gonna regret that one."
Hand drew up like a gunslinger form the old wild west, Ki forming up in a ball of azure light. "Grim Gun!" The pulse of power was the first he'd unloaded in the North like this, the shockwave scattering all the Saibamen near him and slamming into the newcomers attack. The brief struggle just that, brief. Grim Gun colliding with an energy wave and tearing it to shreds, following the path back to the alien attacker. Every moment passing showing it's rapid progress. This would hurt.
"Thanks for the heads up lad, best you leave this'un to me."
Aura flared, and the grizzled veteran let a half growl of determination out. "And you better not die on me too quick! Been a long time since this old bear had someone to fight, so keep that head on yer shoulders and show me what you got!"
Grim Gun discharged at 33% (12,375 PL)

The younger of the two was clearly a lot weaker than either Chikara or the other Saiyan. He didn’t have any real means of deflecting the attack launched by the Heran and so instead threw up a Saibaman and threw it into the oncoming beam and got himself out of the way. Very strange that he would be throwing away one of his own soldiers, but at the same time the death of a Saibaman would be mourned by none so it seems like a good choice. Chikara looked down and could see now that young one was charging his own attack, probably nothing to worry about.
The older man however would prove to be a real problem for Chikara. He fired back his own beam and it proved to be more than a match for what Chikara had given. The beam slowly climbed up his own until he was forced to abandon it and quickly try to get out of the way if possible. Chikara attempted to fly out of the path but he wasn’t quick enough as the energy wave collided with his back. The beam hit with enough force to push Chikara out of the sky and onto the ground where he was now without a clear avenue of escape.
If he wanted out he would have to fight for it. “Damn him.” It seems as though Chikara had underestimated his new foe, or at least he had not anticipated how much these weights would slow him down. He theorised that without the weights he would be able to deal with these two, but he decided to leave them on for more of a challenge. “I can’t take too many more shots like that, I ain't leaving here with a Senzu bean wasted on these two. Let’s just put ‘em in their place and then get out of here with some dignity still.”
Chikara once again analysed the new battleground. He was stuck on the same level as two fighters and no longer had the element of surprise on his side. With his weights on his power would be severely limited and so a two on one attack did not favour him at all. Taking care of the more powerful one first could mean an easy annihilation of the other, but that was easier said than done. He looked around for any sort of environmental factors which he could use to his advantage, and he found just what he needed.
Behind the two Saiyans he saw a dark cave in the side of a mountain. Inside he could cut them off and get the two away from each other, which was just what he needed right now. But first he needed the two to follow him in. He leaped back into the air and rushed over top of the two. When he on top of them he fired down a quick barrage of Ki to try and bait them into following. He knew that a Saiyan would never run away from a challenge and so in this attempt to appeal to his pride, he flew into the mountain and awaited his enemy.

Seeing the strange man's ki beam utterly destroyed left Ryson starstruck for a moment. He then powered down his attack so as to not waste any ki. When the Sheriff's "Grim Gun" shot the alien man out of the sky Ryson was in even more awe than before. He wanted to be that strong one day. When the alien got up however it seemed he overestimated the damage it had done. He entered his fighting stance when he flew overhead and let go a small flurry of ki blasts.
"Damn! Where's he running off to?"
Ryson was conflicted, he wanted to follow him into the cave, he wanted to fight this new enemy, but there were still some saibamen left to deal with that he couldn't just let go. He thought for a moment and decided that this guy would be just a tad too strong to deal with. Letting the Sheriff do his thing would be the best option. Besides, it's a little fairer if it's one on one.
"Sherriff, as much as I hate to refuse such an obvious challenge, I think I'll clean up the rest of these pests for you. So they don't find their way into any populated areas. Besides, judging by how you creamed him just a minute ago I think it'd be less fair if the two of us went in there."
Ryson gave a quick laugh while he said this.

The Sheriff of the North side swiped a ki blast, making it deflect at a harsh angle and explode against the ground. Leaving barely a mark on his hand, teeth baring in half grin, half snarl at the challenge. "Don't sell yerself short kid, takes some kahones to back up the Law. Good thinkin' too." Single eye watched the alien vanish into the cave system that dotted the northern peaks. Rough palm settled on the younger's head, ruffling hair up as he stepped off towards the cave. "Once you finish 'em greens off, stick 'round. We'll hit the bar up at Luna. Whiskey for deputies."
The veteran flew off for the entrance, skidding to a stop right outside the menacing maw of the cavern. Fishing through long coat, the man rolled a half finished cigarillo across forearm, a snap of metal fingers sending it to spark. Glancing down the cavern, scouter clicking through settings to check for an ambush before acrid smoke was blown out thin lips. Rolling neck, a few pops and cracks making him remember he wasn't as old as he thought. Just older then everyone else. "Alright ya jolly green jackass, let's dance."
Stepping in, the man flashed a last look at the light before dropping into the darkness.

It seemed as if Chikara’s plan had indeed worked. The boy was obviously intimidated by the power of Chikara and had elected to stay away from the fight to deal with the Saibamen. It seemed as if the Heran’s initial idea that the two Saiyans had planted the Saibamen down was wrong; why those green little monsters were here in the first place then was lost of Chikara. Perhaps there was another warrior nearby who was lurking in the shadows and waiting for the time to strike, but Chikara stayed focus on the task at hand. “Right where I want you, fool.”
The stronger of the two Saiyans had been goaded in by the attack of Chikara, and chased him into the cave where the two would dance. The place was dark, damp, dreary; not exactly a place he would want to be in but this would make a fine arena for his triumph. Chikara was in so deep at this point that it was basically pitch black. Now he could sense the power level of his foe however it was not as direct as a scouter would be and so he would only have a general idea of where he was in the room.
Chikara looked behind him and tried his best to see how much further the cave would go before he was forced to stand his ground. It was hard to make up be it looked to have perhaps another wider room further on before coming to a halt, which means that in a pinch he could retreat a little further if need be, but so could the Saiyan. “Alright, Chikara. This isn’t the first time you’ve been stuck between a rock and a hard place. You need to think smart to win this one. Let’s use the environment to our advantage.”
While crouching down and waiting for his opponent to enter, Chikara noticed a drip of water fall onto his nose, and when he looked up he saw several stalactites hanging above him. Perhaps not lethal, but enough to do some damage. “Ah, that’s a beautiful sight if I’ve ever seen one.” It seemed as if the cave were on his side in this fight, he just needed to make sure he made good use of it. Chikara positioned himself a little further back so that he have an angle covering all of the entrance, and then silently waited for the action to begin.
The Saiyan had a scouter on and so Chikara would have to act quickly if he wanted the first strike to be his. Before his enemy could have the first strike, Chikara shot and Ki blast directed at the entrance of the cave. This blast wasn’t intended to hit anyone, but to light up the cave for a short while so he could get a good look. Once he caught a glimpse of the Saiyan he again shot another Ki blast, but this time it was pointed to the stalactites above his head. Once fired, he skulked down further into the cave and awaited a response. ---------- Ryson

Ryson turned around after the sheriff left and went to work on the Saibamen. He flew left and right dodging attacks and smacking the green monsters around. Three of them closed in behind him but Ryson was able to hear the subtle sound of "Ki ki ki ki!" giving away their position. He spun around and grabbed two by the head, using them to crush the head of the third one. One took hold of his leg and began to glow. Ryson let out a yell as he tore it off and threw it into the sky where it exploded. They kept coming and they kept dying. Two more punched to death. Three more blown away by ki blasts. It almost wasn't fun with how easy it was getting. But it wasn't long before Ryson left his guard down. "Man this is-" Ryson was then tackled by a large group of saibamen, which he somehow never saw. They all laughed in their indistinguishable language and began to glow bright, this was not good. Ryson flared up his ki to try to deter the beasts then threw a couple off. Another two he blasted off. But the last one was still holding on. He grabbed it by the neck and tossed it away but it still exploded rather close to him. "Gah!" Ryson was blinded and knocked over. His chest hurt a bit and his ears were ringing. He was still able to get up easily and the ringing died down. His sight returned quickly as well but the pain lingered for a minute before it went away. All in all, he was ok. The saibamen seemed to be gone too. "Well, that seems to be the end of it." He did one more check of the area and found that they really were gone. Ryson heard a blast coming from the cave and remembered about the Sheriff. "Oh right! Alright, I'm coming." He finally flew off into the cave to assist with what he could. Arlic Valliere

The Sheriff might've been a Saiyan, with all the hot headed traits of that species, but he was old (for a monkey). He didn't just barrel through, his hand stayed raised and ready for action. The sound of ki being discharged had him moving in action, muscles trained on countless battlefields saving him from being impaled. Heavy rock and stone shard slamming into metal pauldron rather then collarbone, denting the metal and sending the cybernetic arm smashing into the ground, a quick roll avoiding the next. Skidding onto his boots, the Saiyan brushed the cuts the broken stone had cut through his jacket and skin, smearing blood on the steel appendage.
"Hmpf, scratches. Alright then, let's try this."
The old fighter exhaled, fist whistling through the air and shattering the closest stalagmite. Twisting body, the Sheriff's backhand blasted a pulse of energy, not a ki blast, but the raw power that came before forming it into powerful beams. Just a brutal explosion of kinetic energy that sent the hundreds of sharp little bits of stone sharpnel rocketing down the caverns tunnels. Clicking and whizzing, turning the place into a deadly beehive. Like a fragmentation grenade had gone off, the broken stone was more then just an annoyance, it would shred anything that wasn't covered. Flesh and steels hands repeated the process, sending waves of broken rock down the cavern with growing force, until chunks of wall were pockmarked with craters the size of a fist.
Just how many times would he do it, it wasn't known yet. But the fighter had his own plan. After sheering another spire of rock down, he blasted down the cave system. Following closely behind the wave of rock missiles, metal shoulder raised to ping any backfires off without ending up a causality of his own tactic. "C'mon you lil bugger. Where are you-" Scouter chirped, the Saiyan letting a grunt of amusement out as he skidded to a stop. "Should've used Ki Suppress lad, now you'll see just what a monkey can do!"
The Sheriff's mind played catch up, if the alien was picking a fight with him but not hiding as well as someone with ki suppression, he was using weights. Even if they were the heaviest ones possible, he wouldn't be able to go toe to toe with him. But there was one more thing that the attacker was forgetting. But who am I to spoil the suprise, Arlic thought.
"Quit running. Last chance kid." The man brushed back his duster, the glittering star badge on his belt visible even in the gloom. "I'm askin ya nicely, with all the pride I can. Give up, or I'll destroy you."

The situation Chikara found himself in was not one he was prepare for. Rather than picking them off one by one like he had thought he would do, it seemed that the fighting he heard coming from outside had finished. If the young boy had truly finished off his task outside it would mean that he was on his way inside and preparing to team up against him. This left Chikara outnumbered and outgunned, with no easy means to escape. He looked around once more to see if he could find an exit but it was again too dark to see anything.
Chikara knew that if he wanted out of this place alive he would have to once again take note of his surroundings and see if there would be anything in the slightest which would help him out. While thinking, he heard a noise coming from the entrance to the cave. He poked his head out to try and figure out what it was, and was meant with shards of rock flying towards his face. He tried to get his head back down, but he wasn’t quick enough as several shards tore through his flesh across his arm and checks. He fell down in pain but quickly threw his hand over his mouth to muffle the screaming.
This guy obviously meant business. The pain subsided rather quickly, but the damage was done. Chikara picked some of the rock out of his skin and there was a lot of blood to deal with. There wasn’t any time to take care of wounds however and this attack told him that his foes were closing in. He couldn’t hear any talking and so for the meanwhile he presumed that the two Saiyans had not yet met up with each other, and so this could be the best opportunity he has to strike. Before rushing head on however he felt something beneath him.
Looking down there was a small pond of water that he hadn’t even noticed he stepped through. It wasn’t deep enough to lay in of course, but Chikara could think of other ways to use this to his advantage. He stuck his hands into the water, and channeling his Ki into his hands. Using this he was able to superheat the water. The water was just under boiling point as Chikara didn’t want any steam to ruin his plan and give it away. The water would be little more than a distraction but it was perhaps the distraction which would save his life.
Chikara figured that there wasn’t much point in hiding any more seeing as he was at a dead end and the Saiyan had a scouter on, and so he stood up from behind the rock and made himself heard. “Very well, you have what you want. Now I don’t plan on staying stuck down here for long so why don’t we take care of this nice and quickly? Either one will do.” Chikara didn’t have much in the way of attacks going through his head, so instead he would wait patiently for either of the two Saiyans to strike first. ---------- Ryson

Upon entering the cave Ryson noticed another small group of saibamen lurking near the edge of the darkness looking in, presumably to be debating whether or not to enter. "Where the hell are all of these things coming from anyway?" The saibamen seemed to catch the end of that sentence and turned to face Ryson. The first couple launched themselves at him and he avoided them both, cracking one over the back of the head and splitting it open, then kicking one in the chest causing audible cracking noises. A few more of them tried to rush him but he knocked one out with a ki blast and back handed the other into the wall of the cave, leaving a saiba shaped indent. "Is that finally the last of them?" This question was quickly answered when three more came flying from the darkness. "How on earth did so many sneak in here before me!?" Ryson was only annoyed now, he just wanted to get into the real fight, but he sucked it up just a bit more to deal with the current enemy. When they came close Ryson flew up a bit and crushed one between his fist and the ground. He dealt with the other two by grabbing them by the neck and smashing them together. He listened close before entering the dark and didn't run into any more of the annoying creatures. "Now, so long as there aren't any little annoying green men, I can move on to the BIGGER annoying green man. Who does he think he is anyway calling us monkeys." Ryson hoped the little distraction didn't cause him to lose too much time. Who knows what this guy might try to pull in a one on one fight. ------- Arlic Valliere

"Oh, we'll take care of this nice and quickly." The Saiyan lifted a hand, a ball of sapphire energy gathering in outstreched palm. The clock on his scouter clicking subtly away, outside dusk was settling. And it was a full moon tonight. "Grim Gun."
The beam of power ripped through the cave ceiling, sheering through it and the mountainside. The sheer heat and force keeping it intact as stone melted and reformed to make a perfect, burnt shaft to the cooling evening sky. "Kid, if you can hear me, stay in the cave until I come get you! Don't look at the sky no matter what happens next!" The Sheriff shed his duster and hat, everything else was easy to replace after what was going to happen. Wolfish grin as eyes narrowed, tail unfurling to sway lazily behind the lean ex-soldier. "Now, I can control it. But I don't think my young friend can, you got about ten minutes before the moon is up enough. Then you'll see why calling us monkeys was an under exaggeration." He was already wary after the trick with the stalagmites, stepping slowly. Boots crossing eachother in a way that kept his center of mass even. "I know yer kind lad, pick a fight to get some jolly out it. Now, I can control the Oozaru, so you better make yer damn mind up how this ends." The Saiyan warrior clapped his hands together, before drawing them back like how he did in his normal fighting style. Instead lightning startled to build in the air, the static discharge causing hairs to stand up at the back of your neck style. Crackling energy forming in arcs of pale blue energy, forming slowly at first, but building up in a literal storm of strength and an obvious show of expert ki manipulation. Teeth were bared, if this wouldn't end the alien, then the Oozaru would; but he was loath to let that one out the back.
[MA3] Valkyrie Maelstrom is charging, currently at 37,500.
